Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really bad product! What a shoddy product. I've worn these boots less than 10 times total, and haven't subjected them to any rough treatment at all. I wore them to the mountain 3 days ago when I took my daughter sledding, and when I came back home, I noticed that both shoes had large cracks on top of the toes, where the bottom had completely split form the top part (under the stitches). The shoes look nice, keep the feet warm, and are comfortable to wear.... but what good is all that if they are going to be torn apart from a few days of gentle use? See pictures for how bad the damage is, and I included a pic of the sole, so that you can see how unused the boots are.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk boots I purchased these boots several years ago and wore them once. This week I brought them to Iceland for a week of winter hiking. Mid-morning on the third day the uppers began separating from the soles of both boots. These boots are junk. I will never consider purchasing another product from Sorel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boots Deteriorating I purchased SOREL CONQUEST boots a few years ago. they are very warm and fantastic traction in the snow. However, this year when I put them on to go out into the snow, I noticed that the rubber was severely cracked and there is a separation at the point the rubber and leather meet. I just sent a complaint into customer service. I will let you know what response I receive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boots Fall Apart I am a Ski Patroller and have sworn by Sorels in the past. I got the conquest model when I needed a new pair this season. They separated between the rubber and leather on both boots within wearing about 5 times. I had not even thought about reading reviews on these boots since all my Sorels over the past 30years had been great quality. I read reviews after I had issues with this model and saw all the poor reviews noting the same issue. This model is poor design, workmanship and quality that Sorel should really stand behind irrespective of the one year warranty. Not sure what has happened to such a good company, but this will likely start impacting their bottom line if they do not address as past loyal customers will leave and the internet will deter future customers. I am really disappointed in Sorel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boot upper and lower Separation Within 6 months and 8 times wearing them the upper and lower separated on the outside of the left boot. No help from company. Had a cobbler repair. 4 months later right boot did the same. Had cobbler repair. Then both let go on the inside seem. No more repairs....cobbler said that he repairs many of these boots every year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mink oil Got these boots for my husband and we had read the reviews that had said that they where not good quality ... he loves them and the do not leak. We rubbed mink oil on them and let them sit 2 Days letting it dry. Awesome boot!!!! Great purchase

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Purchased 2 years ago. Went to put boots on this year and the upper leather separated from the bottom rubber on both boots. Spending that kind of money on a pair of boots that were worn maybe 5 times over the past 2 years is extremely disappointing. Not worth the money.POOR QUALITY.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boot Size I normally wear a size 11.5 . I ordered this size and to small... I exchanged them for a 12 and those are to small as well... These boots do not fit true to size. i'd say wearing thick socks and all order a size and a half bigger than what you wear for them to fit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality Tip of left boot shattered. These boots are far from new but not worn a lot. Great boot otherwise but waterproof integrity is lost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Happy to sad I couldn’t have been more excited to get a pair of winter boots..non the less a pair of sorel boots. I have always wanted a pair but would never spend the money. I received these as a gift from my fiancé. I have worn the boots prob 10x total over the course of 2 or 3 winters. To this day they still look like day came out of box. Did everything you would want kept foot dry warm and for a pack style boot in my opinion not at all bulky easy to drive in break period was non existent. Now for the bad..for the amount of use these boots have recieved and the price they are very disappointed in the quality from a sorel. Wishin the first few wears the draw string cord broke on both boots...upsetting but didn’t bother me all that much..the real issue the boot split apart were the rubber meets the leather. So now please tell me what good this boot is?....brought to a local shoe repair nothing they can do told me boots are no good anymore unless liked wear them as is. Obviously sorel is not going to do anything being these carried a 1year warranty. If these boots worked as they should I would buy them time and time again like stated previously they were INCREDIBLE for their purpose would gladly spend the money again BUT WONT BECAUSE THE QUALITY IS NOT THERE ANYMORE. Sorel was always a great name boot and maybe this particular model has a issue maybe it’s all there boots now idk that answer. I JUST WISH THEY LASTED ALOT LOT LONGER

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish I could Love it Had these boots for years, until they split apart much like all the others reviews. Thought nothing of it as they were used a lot. Then I had a newer pair and another PAC boot version. They too split the same way, and I only wore them 3 or four times. They aren't sold anymore and I am starting to wonder maybe that's why. Sad to say i may be looking at another brand this time

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I had that boots only about three years and worn them just slightly during winter;suddenly left one fall apart rubber sole cracked all over not sure if can repair loved them so much really warm and comfortable but didn't expect so short life very disappointed.
Date published: 2018-01-01
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the quality I expected! I was amazed and saddened to see that my left boot is coming apart at the seam where the rubber and leather meet. I did not expect this from Sorel and for the price point in which these boots are sold. Even more disappointing is that these boots only carry a 1 year warranty - again not what I expected from Sorel. I’ve owned the boots for a few years but honestly only use them about 3 times per winter. I figured they would last much, much longer. Poor quality.
Date published: 2017-12-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from What happened to Sorel quality Great boot for a short walk. After that they come apart at the seams where the leather meets the rubber. With every step I take I hear air escaping and see bubbles at the seams. Terrible quality for the price. I'm going to have to explore other brands. Sad to see a classic quality brand like this go south.
Date published: 2017-12-23
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coming apart at the seams! Actually love the boots, but what good are anything if they split at the seams. The soul ("rubber") where it's sewn to the upper split all the way around and there's no way to repair. I like the boots some much I was here to purchase another pair but after reading some of the reviews, my situation is not unique! I'm looking to D**uth for a similar pair unfortunately.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CHEAP!!! I was simply floored today. I put on my good looking boots to do a little work around my snowing yard. After about 15 min in the yard I noticed pieces on my sole actually coming apart. I looked down and followed the little prices of sole everywhere I walked.. this was only the fourth time I wore these boots.. Beware and don’t waste your money unless Sorel fixes the issues with these boots..I only wished I could upload a picture of these boots..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men's Conquest Boot Love these boots. 1st pair lasted years. When my son needed new pair, these were the only ones we considered. Highly recommend Sorel!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from POOR CONSTRUCTION...SOREL has done nothing to fix. Otherwise nice boots!! I purchased a pair of your Conquest boots from Dicks Sporting goods about 2 years ago and I loved them. They keep my feet warm, the fit is awesome and the traction is amazing. I have worn them last winter and this winter maybe a total of about 20 times as I only use them only when I snow blow, so anything over 3 inch snow. So I’m estimating high just to be fair. I never had a problem until last week. I went to lace them up to snow blow and I noticed the leather had separated from the rubber on one boot in two places along the side and at the heal. I was shocked because otherwise they still look relatively new. Now I’m stuck with snow boots with gaps where snow and water can enter the boot. So I thought I would drop you a message to let you know. Then I noticed all of the comments from people with the same problems. I understand that any warranty may have expired. But I wanted to express my concern for a company that “had” a good reputation for producing high quality boots seems to have now chosen profit over quality. I’m concerned that you would continue to sell a boot that has had this problem for many years and continues to have this problem as most recent as 2 months ago according to your website reviews. It’s a shame because otherwise I really like this boot. But I can’t justify spending $150.00 for a boot that could only last for a few wears. Please step up your game Sorel, because your well-earned reputation for quality is falling fast. This type of product will certainly lose your lifelong customers. I’m hoping that Sorel will step up and do something to try to keep me as a customer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay Away As many have mentioned, these boots just fall apart. The leather portion of boot just separated from the rubber bottoms, as well as splits all over. It appears to be dry-rotted to say the least. Did I mention these boots are less than a year old??.... The part that's concerning as you know is they are $150, I figured it would be the last pair I would need! Heed my warning!!!! Stay Away!!! If I could give less than 1 star I would. As far as size is concerned, I wear a 9-1/2 shoe size and a 10 in Sorel fits perfect

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Second Pair of Conquests....they are great. These are tough as nails. I would recommend to anyone who wants a tough warm and dry snow boot. There is one gripe I have. Seems like the sizing keeps getting smaller. My old pair are mens size 11 so I ordered another pair of 11's and had to return them. So take my advice and order a size larger.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality I have had these for two years used them maybe 20 times to snowblow my drive and sidewalk and they are busting at the seams. As you can see from the tread they look brand new. Now they are not water tight so yeah they maybe warm but once you step in snow or slush your foot is wet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots! I was really excited to order these boots in the Bark color since I was needing to replace a pair of Danner's that were starting to fade out. I wasn't able to try them on at a store so I was surprised to find out that ordering the boots in a size 11.5 (which I normally buy for most shoes and boots) was a perfect fit. They didn't feel too tight and there was enough room for a thick sock without them being tight or uncomfortable. I have yet to actually take them out in heavy snow, but so far I really like the feel and weight. The built gaiter with barrel lock closure is awesome and I really like the Achilles adjustment strap as well for extra support around the ankle.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what they used to be Grew up wearing Sorels and I am certain, despite the abuse I imparted on them as a kid, I never had a Sorel boot come apart. Unfortunately, that is no longer true. I have less than 2 seasons on my Conquests and both boots are pulling apart at the seams. To give an idea of what defeats these boots, I wear them while hiking through snow filled woodlands. There are some sticks, rocks, etc. under the snow that I’m sure are tough on the boots; however, in the summer I wear typical trail running shows while working in those same woods and none have pulled apart or gotten any holes. If you can ignore the fact they are pulling apart, the boots are comfortable, offer nice stability for such a large boot, are average warmth for this style boot, and (prior to coming apart) they did a great job keeping my feet dry. It really is too bad they are so poorly constructed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sad but True... Being a 'Rocky Mountain' native, well-made, warm & durable footwear is imperative for the 6+ months of winter we experience every year. I have worn SOREL footwear for most of my life, (56 years) Started young with Manitous, have worked thru several pairs of Caribous at various ski-resort jobs in the Rockies, (my personal favorite). Currently have a pair of wool Caribous that are going on 10 years... These boots DO require a bit of maintenance to stay water-proof and warm. Just like keeping a quality knife sharp! Cotton socks SUCK! WOOL Rules, If you don't know that move on... Drying your boots after use is important. My brother has the early version of the "Conquest" which had a 'removable' liner. Mine are about 5 years old and do NOT have a removable liner! My gripe is the LACK of traction on ICE or Packed Snow. The build quality is poor, construction is coming apart at the seams! Bought these to snowshoe (less bulky than Caribous) and shovel my roof. Actually dis-located my shoulder carrying groceries to my truck in an icy parking lot. Love the majority of Sorel products, BUT, with NO WARRANTY Coverage, this was well over $125 Bucks WASTED.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pair of Boots I love the look and comfort when wearing the boots. I've worn several different pairs of boots from other manufacturers and these beat those hands down
Date published: 2017-05-11
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Falling Apart... I've had these boots for a few years. This year the rubber began falling off in several places rendering them unusable. I read reviews on Google and many other people have had the same issue. I contacted Sorel and they said to send them in even though they were out of warranty and they'd either fix them or send me a merchandise credit/refund. I hope they stand by their word. These are expensive boots that I expected to last a lifetime.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from bad news I have a really old pair of Sorel pac boots that are still wearable. I saw the Conquest & thought they were cool looking. I was outside shoveling snow & my left foot felt wet. When I came inside I noticed the rubber had separated from the leather upper. The rubber was falling apart with chunks missing. I have had them for some time, but They were not worn that much or hard. At least I have my old pair of felt lined boots to fall back on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Men's Conquest Boot Like numerous other reviews...leather and rubber seam (especially in toe area) cracking & separating. Wore them once during an OR 6 inch snowfall, then moved to CA...where they remained in bedroom closet storage. Deteriorated condition not readily noticeable until putting boots on. Totally disappointed in having to shovel 18 inches from sidewalk and driveway in street shoes. Not worth the price for longevity provided. Seems like the number of negative postings would warrant a quality/defect recall or at least consideration in form of a discount coupon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expectations fulfilled! I purchased my pair of "Conquest" boots back in the winter of 2014-2015. At that time I was working as a security officer at Kirkwood Mountain Resort, and a good portion of my shift was spent walking across snow from lift to lift in various weather conditions. The built in gaiters kept the snow out of my boot, and the Achilles heel strap provides a nice snug fit. I've put over 100 miles on my pair, and they have held up extremely well. I also use them for snow showing, and the raised Sorrel emblem in the back makes a perfect place for my snowshoe strap to rest when I secure them to my boots. Overall very pleased with them and would by them again.
Date published: 2017-03-04
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice boot but hard to get on The "gator" top make the boots hard to put on because they don't open very large. It is definitely for flexible users, not for us older folks :0) On a positive side I feel like they will keep the snow out better.
Date published: 2017-02-24
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Durability issue for the high $$$ paid The same separation has happen with the boots I have. Where the rubber meets the leather. Also the grommet for connecting gators has broken off. Lastly, the fabric near the draw string has ripped. These boots are only a few years old and have been kept in the origional box when stored for the winter. As I am not a boot designer I don't know how to tell you how to fix the rubber/leather separation. Maybe better grommets and the tab for pulling the boot up should have been extended to the top of the boot. Bottom line: would I recommend this boot? NO Would I recommend Sorel? Not sure, unfortunately they are not widely available in my area so trying them on to check fix and function at purchase is troublesome.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubber on boot has developed huge cracks I bought a pair of Sorel Mens Conquest NM1049-265 boots a few years ago. I have used them occasionally. I loved them until this morning when the rubber portions next to the leather broke completely through on 1 boot but not the other. There is now a huge crack across the toes and another set of cracks across the back of the heel. The rubber for the other boot in the pair is still pliable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Huge design flaw Loved these boots! Warm, comfortable for hiking in deep snow. Then, after only four months of use (in an Alaskan winter), I can't wear them any more. Where the rubber 'lowers' meet the leather uppers in the heel region there is a rubber ridge. The only covering of this ridge inside the boot is a thin layer of foam, and then the inner liner. In only four months, this foam and liner had been rubbed to nothing and torn, and now I'm getting a huge blister on my heel and my socks are being worn to shreds in the heel. How much foresight does it take for a boot designer to see this coming? A strip of leather inside this rubber/upper join would have solved this. These boots were expensive, and I did love them. Not sure if a cobbler can fix this, but I'll try. Sigh.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible materials I picked up a pair of these boots while in Montana, and I loved them. They kept my feet dry and warm. I live in California again, and we've been in a drought for several years, and I really haven't had the need to wear these boots for a few years, but the rain has finally come, I pulled the boots from my closet today and put them on, but the rubber on the boots has turned into the worst garbage imaginable. It split all the way across the side, and I don't mean it cracked, it SPLIT OPEN WIDE. I then pressed my thumb against another section and my thumb broke through the rubber. These boots were not cheap, and I doubt I got to wear them any more than 20 times. I'm very disappointed, and do not recommend them at all.
Date published: 2017-01-20
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great look and feel poor construction I loved the fact that these boots went on with ease and fit under jeans relatively easy, but after a year and maybe twenty times wearing them; the leather came apart from the rubber letting snow and or water run freely into boot. I hate to say it but I had to go back to an old old pair of Danners that I had for the remainder of this winter. I was hoping these Sorels would give me the same use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubber cracked and split open after 3 years I love the way these boots feel. They slip on and off easily and my feet never got cold, even on the coldest days. Unfortunately the manufacturing and material quality is VERY poor on my pair of boots. Within one month after purchase the stitching around the top (which is light and loose to begin with) began to break and fall out. I had it repaired under warranty, but was never convinced this was a good design. I always had to treat the top with such care so as not to pull out the stitching again. This winter (3rd after purchase), as I went out for my first walk of the season, the rubber cracked and slit open on both sides of one boot, right where it flexes. This has been getting progressively worse and now I have gapping holes in my "water proof" boots - what a disappointment! I had my previous boots (not Sorels) for over 25 years. These lasted only 3! I was told that Sorels were the way to go for warmth and quality. Well, this has certainly put a bad taste in my mouth. I think I'm going to try a different company for my next pair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed in a bran I trusted These boots were perfect out of the box. Comfortable warm & dry, they appeared to be a great replacement for my tried and true old tired sorel snow boots (10 winters). Too bad these new boots don't even come close to the quality of material use in my old boots. If they cant make this right and 1 year warranty is in stone I will not be spending my hard earned $ on this brand again! $150.00 is too steep a price to pay for the 10 days I wore these boots in one year. Stand behind your product or don't sell it!! SAD TO BE.. Dissapointed in Portland. OR.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sadly I have the same story, came apart!!! I don't use these boots often and thus they are in great shape but we got some snow and I took them out for some active use and the rubber is coming apart from the leather...not small easy to fix issue but huge hole and no way there is a fix or easy fix for it. Again I am not a heavy user and they have seen less than 2 miles of use since I bought them. Can't believe there is no warranty for such a crazy defect. I won't buy Sorel again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Materials separate As others have said, the uppers separate from the loers. Very disappointing. Boots are only 2 years old and done for. Maybe that's why they only carry a one year warranty. Loved them while they lasted, but will not be buying again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot! I have2 pairs of these. One I ordered a half size larger so I can wear heavy socks. These are both now over 5 years old and have survived several winters with flying colors. These are also my go to hunting boots and I have taken them on some tough hunts out west. No wet feet. Warm. No issues. Absolutely great traction! Not sure why all the bad press. Doug

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fell apart! Start with I really liked these boots great fit, comfort and warmth UNTIL- after 23 months from purchase BOTH boots separated from sole and upper! Of course warranty is 12 months! I want another pair but just cant with good conscience go out and spend $150 if problem has not been addressed/resolved. Read and heed the reviews!!!

I only used these boots four or five times!! Unless you like to throw money away and need a good boot for only a year....these are great!
