Reviews

Women's Caribou® Boot is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 500.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sorel caribou These are great boots! I have no complaints. Size is slightly large but it works great with wool socks. I wear a 7.5 usually which is what I purchased and worked great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Snow Boot These are the best snow boots I’ve ever had! They keep my feet so warm even if I’m wearing a regular ankle sock. They do fit slightly bigger but I like this because I am able to wear thick socks without having my toes squished. If the price deters you, trust me they are worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the mountain Brought these on my trip to the mountain and I was impressed. These were very comfortable to walk in on the mountain (in heavy snow) and also in town. I would recommend these to everyone!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warmest boots! I received a pair of the caribou boots as a gift. These are the warmest and most comfortable boots I've ever owned. As a bonus they are stylish too! I highly recommend these boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best snow boot I’ve ever purchased For a long time I was buying a cheap, poorly constructed pair of snow boots every year. I finally bit the bullet and bought a pair of Sorel Caribou boots, and have not regretted it for a second. They did have a tiny bit of a break-in period, but nothing I wasn’t used to with new shoes/boots. They’re my exclusive footwear as soon as it starts getting cold and slushy, and they’ve kepy me warm and dry since the winter of 2014. The liner is warm and removable, the rubber is durable and hasn’t cracked (even in negative degree weather), and the stitching on the leather is all still 100% intact. My only issues with the boot are that 1.) they’re heavy. If you’re not used to wearing heavy boots, it’ll take a little getting used to. I wore down the heels (not bad) on both of them from accidentally dragging my feet. 2.) At first, the liner was *too* removable. They were coming out every time I took the boots off, and since they weren’t broken in yet, the material was stiff and kind of a pain to get back in. All in all, a great boot, and I would absolutely purchase them again if I needed to buy new ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou Quality is amazing! Leaving in Michigan this boot is a perfect choice for our cold and snowy season! I finally found a boot that my feet stay warm and dry!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm Rugged Boots These boots are made for COLD weather. Are they bulky...yes but they are SO WARM. It was -30 today (-8 but -30 with wind chill) and my feet were the only things that stayed warm. I would not get these boots if you live in a "cool" climate but I am in Northern New England and they are perfect! I take a size 9-9.5 and I got a 9. They do run a little big, but there is lots of room for a heavy sock and you can get away with these being a little bigger since they are a snow boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for Wisconsin Winters! My youngest daughter was so happy to get these for Christmas— as a college student in Northern Wisconsin, she has to hike through snow and cold to get across campus. These boots fit the bill and of course, the Sorel brand gave her the quality and style she wanted. My older daughter has had a pair for three years up at the same college and they’ve held up great! I would definitely recommend these boots for stylish, warm and dry winter wear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Daughters boots I bought this pair for my daughter. I have had a pair for 20 years. They have lasted through the years. Great quality. I hope my daughters pair will last as long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fit Our daughter LOVES her new boots!! The fit was perfect and the warmth is great. She loves the slate gray color as it goes with anything. Will absolutely purchase from this company again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I purchased these boots after much research online for a few days. They are suppose to be rated for -40 degrees. I went snowmobiling in 20 degrees in Ohio and my feet were the only thing on me frozen. I also just wore them around one day in and out of the car/house and my feet are cold! very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots I was concerned about sizing but they fit just right. I wear a size 10 in other shoes and ordered a 10. I’ll be able to wear a thick pair of socks and keep warm.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from SADLY DISAPPOINTED I loved these boots the minute I seen them- I ordered the shale gray- I was very disappointed when they arrived- I was so excited tried on immediately and these boots are HUGE and HEAVY. I am normally a 9-10 depending on the style of the shoe and i ordered a 9 in these and they are just way to big and bulky. I literally feel like a man. Is there a way of returning somehow-I did order online and i love them i just need a smaller size :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots *When I preview this review, it said incentivized review. I don't know of any incentive, got nothing for reviewing. Just my honest opinion.* I saw so many reviews saying these ran huge. I usually wear a 9-10, width is about a C, so wide-ish. I got them in US size 10 and they fit perfectly with a medium thickness wool sock. They are heavy and solid (some would say clunky), but it's not like they're made for high fashion wear. They are perfect for keeping feet warm and dry when it's cold and / or snowy outside. They might be too much for somewhere the temps don't go much below freezing and 2" of snow is a lot. But for me, in Wisconsin, they're perfect! These boots have me almost looking forward to more snow - almost!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winter warm My Caribou's were a gift from my mom. Just moved to NYC and it's cold!! The boots are stylish and best of all my feet are dry and warm. Perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boots are huge Pretty disappointed here. I ordered 10.5 as I usually wear btwn a 10.5-11, boots were way too big even while wearing thick thermal socks. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue but I can not simply exchange them, instead I have to pay $6 to return them and then buy another pair while I sit and wait for a refund. Besides being too large the boots didn’t seem particularly warm, although I only had them on in the house. With the numerous reports of cracking rubber I will not be purchasing another pair of Sorel boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tremendous Walked 7 miles in the snow in NYC, not to mention I am pregnant, and my feet were completely dry and very warm. Not to mention they were so comfortable I could have walked another 7 miles with no issues. Highly recommend these boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fit & Very Warm I work at a ski resort, and these boots are perfect for early mornings and trudging through the snow. I have very wide feet, and these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Lots of wiggle room in the toe box, and the wool liner is super cozy. The leather is beautiful and the fuzz on the top is a great touch. So happy to have got these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love them! As a college student, I spend a lot of time walking, so when the temperatures drop I just put on these boots and my feet stay warm. I would've imagined them to be heavy but they aren't! They come with a liner inside are extremely durable. I went down 1/2 a size because they run slightly large. I would highly recommend these and will be bringing them along on my ski trip !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm boots, didn't require break in time I bought these boots just before leaving for a 10-day vacation (from a warm area) to Norway. I didn't bring any other shoes, so I was VERY excited that these boots didn't require any break in time and were comfy from the first day. They also fit as expected. I usually wear a size 8 but ordered a size 8.5 to allow for thicker socks and some room around the toes. The rest of the boot fit well, and I got not blisters. These shoes were so warm that I was able to wear them for any activity during my trip, and my feet were warm the whole time. Now, I'm dreaming of other cold weather destinations so I can wear these classic-looking, comfortable, warm boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too large Typically between a 6 1/2- 7 in shoes. I read other reviews that said these boots ran big, so I wasn't sure what size to get. I ended up ordering a 6 1/2 and they were too large. I returned and reordered a size 6. I could've probably gone down to a 5 1/2, but I didn't want to take the chance. The size 6 felt much better than the 6 1/2. Aside from the fit issues everything else about these boots are amazing. I've already worn them in the snow and they keep my feet nice and toasty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots! These boot are such a classic! Finally replaced a pair that was over 25 years old. This pair will be perfect for my next 1/4 century of winter adventures! They do fit slightly large. I ordered a half size down based on feedback and was a perfect fit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest Boots EVER!!! They do fit slightly large, but I still wear my size, because I intended on always having on super thick socks when I’m wearing snow boots. I love them! They are my favorite boots to date!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, Comfy & Easy on the eyes Definitely a great buy! I needed some snow boots that weren’t too flashy or boring and these were perfect. I got the grey ones so they’re modest and look great with everything. I will warn you however that these boots look huge and are a little on the heavier side, but what else would you expect from snow boots?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep you warm This boots are great for winter weather. The only thing is that the run large. I’m a size 7 and that’s what I first got but it was too big, so I got a 6.5 and it’s still a Little big on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the most reliable winter boot out there. I have a pair of these boots, and every year, I buy a pair for my oldest child. The other kids then wear it. This is the best boot. It looks good, holds up extremely well and keeps your feet warm and comfy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou womens boot Excellent winter boot for my daughter who is attending college in the snowbelt of Michigan! Waterproof on the outside and warm and fuzzy inside for warmth. Durable construction sure to last a few rough winters!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for brutal winters! This boot is warm, stylish, and doesn't smash my toes together!!! They are on the heavy side but that doesn't bother me. They are very comfy and my feet are toasty in serious negative temps. Love them! Got shale stone color. I went down a full size from the Tivoli II. I prefer the width of the caribou.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, Reliable Boot We love the Sorel boots because they are warm, reliable in the cold weather, and cute. The boot did run a little big on me, so I sized down a half size (I normally wear a 7 and bought a 6.5). However my sister wears her regular size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything expected and more This was my first time buying Sorel’s and I must admit, I️ had high expectations because I’d heard such great things. I️ was looking forward to wearing them in the winter but they are SO PERFECT that I️ don’t even want to put them on! I️ don’t feel worthy of such great shoes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great snow boot! We live in a very snowy area and I never have to worry about my feet getting cold. These boots are AMAZING! The traction on the bottom is wonderful to have for those icy conditions and I love that the lining comes out so I can wash it. Definitly recommend buying this boot for your snow boot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest boot I purchased a pair over 35 years ago, loved them. Snowmobiled up in Maine and Canada. My feet were nice and warm. I decided to buy another pair although the old ones were still in good shape, it was time to retire them. Sorel by far is the warmest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent boot I love these boots! They are so warm I only need a thin sock. They have great traction and let no moisture in. Highly recommend!
Date published: 2017-11-18
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay boots, no long lasting I had bought the caribous, needing them because I was working outside in the mountains. They do run a little large and are a slightly bulky. I was okay with them being a little bulky, thinking that they would be especially warm. Unfortunately they were only okay. I had to be on the snow for a few days and even with proper socks, changing the socks regularly, and with toe warmers, my feet were still extremely uncomfortable. The temperature was consistently around 5-20 degrees. Perhaps they would have been worse with other types of boots. Also, they are not cheap, but the rubber on the boots ended up splitting just after a year. Which ended up being after the warranty. They were unable to help me at all with this problem. Therefore, just be prepared to have to by another pair fairly frequently if you use the boots for anything other any just wearing around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Snow Boot I run 8.5 usually but those boots run large and are bulky so I had to size down. Now they fit perfect. I live in the mountains so I choose this boot to walk the pups and snow blow my drive way :) Keeps toes nice and toasty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Winter Boot in the worl!! My family has been wearing nothing but Sorel boots since the 70’s. They last forever! And the temp ratings are totally accurate! I always wear the Caribou (truly good to -40, tested it!!) I was born and raised in Minneapolis Minnesota (we can have sometimes a month -0, -35 -40 still happens even with climate change!). Truly the best winter boot out there!
Date published: 2017-11-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Boots Seeing that I live in Minnesota and we just got 8 inches of snow these are the perfect boots for Winter time! I’m so happy with the purchase! I bought them on a Friday and received them on a Monday and I didn’t pay extra for shipping, I finally decided to buy actual winter boots as I go ice fishing and am an outdoorsy person the UGGS weren’t cutting it for the Minnesota snow, so I’m glad I finally just bought a pair of amazing winter boots! They are a little big but you need a thick pair of socks to fit in anyways so it’s not an issue! Overall best winter boot I have purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Might want to size down Hard to order some footwear online... turns out these run a little large but since I bought for my daughter and sent to her, she decided to keep and wear with thick socks... she loves them!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm This boot was VERY warm. I loved it for that reason. It was a little too klunky for me though. I wanted to be able to run around outside with my son and walk to work easily. I felt that I could not do this with ease in these boots. They ran slightly big also.
Date published: 2017-10-18
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Huge These are HUGE. I wear a women's size 10 and own 5+ other pairs of Sorel boots/shoes in various styles, which all fit fairly true to size. I know these are meant to be a little roomy to fit warm socks, but even with 2 pairs of socks, my feet don't fill them out, and they are so heavy they are uncomfortable to walk in. I wore them once in a bad snowstorm shortly after purchase because I didn't have any other suitable shoes for the snow, and haven't worn them since (in more than a year) - but felt like I couldn't return them since they were worn. Super bummer, because I love the brand, but this purchase was a big waste of money. My roommate who wears a size 7 also bought them a size down and even hers are too clunky so she doesn't wear them either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These boots are a staple The Caribou Sorels are a staple for me, as I just moved to Colorado and I am experiencing my first real winter. I am able to wear thick wool socks with these boots, so they keep my feet very happy. The fuzzy top keeps out the snow, which keeps my feet nice and dry. They are extremely durable, comfortable right out of the box, and perfect for cold winters. They fit perfectly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Winter/Snow Boot! I bought these boots for a glacier excursion and also overall winter/snow boots for some outdoor activities. I'd say they fit slightly large, but I want some extra room in winter boots for thick socks. I did 2 layers of socks and it worked perfect. These are definitely significant, heavy boots so walking up a bunch of stairs, you'll feel that extra weight on your feet. I almost dropped my review to 4 stars because of the weight, but I think to get this amount of warmth and protection from the snow, you can't cut down on the boots. Basically, if you don't truly need a snow boot for really cold or extended outside conditions, maybe this isn't the boot for you. I wouldn't wear these casually around town or driving. I wore them out on a glacier during rainy, windy conditions and my feet stayed dry and warm. I have somewhat wide feet and have foot issues, but was totally comfortable in these.
