How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pretty boot, way too small. After reading previous reviews, I purchased this boot a half size bigger than what I would normally wear. After getting them, my toe still touched the end of the boot. What is the biggest bummer is you have to pay for shipping both ways, which I find a little crazy when spending top dollar for a pair of shoes. I went ahead and ordered a full size higher and am waiting to see how they fit. January 17, 2017
Rated 1 out of 5 by Simply terrible These boots are very stylish for winter and I get compliments all the time. I also think they are warm. But none of that will do you any good when they fall apart after one season. The strap on the side tore off after about 20 times of wearing the boot. The lining has completely ripped up. I loosen the boot completely before taking them on and off and still hear stitching ripping when they come off my feet. The bottom has started to separate as well. Basically these boots fell apart. I bought them expecting them to "last forever" as most Sorel lovers claim. They made it one season. And mind you I literally only wear these to walk to my car and then walk a half a block to work. They couldn't hold up to a short daily walk in the winter. I regret buying these so much. January 15, 2017
Rated 2 out of 5 by Stylish but not functional I bought these boots while I lived in Jackson Hole, WY for a low profile yet stylish snow boot for apres ski and walking around town. I've had them for just over 2 years now. While I receive many compliments, these boots are not very functional for light wear in snow. My toes are always cold even in 30-40 degree weather and after just 2 years they are starting to leak. They are very difficult to get on and off- I actually broke the cute strap around the top of the boot trying to get them on and off the first month I bought them. The liner is non removable and rips/inside-outs itself every time I take the boots on and off. I now live in Portland, OR and my feet are freezing and wet when we have an occasional snowstorm. I would recommend getting heavier boot for snow, even for lighter wear. I would also recommend that Sorel put a loop on this boot to make it easier to take on and off and put a thicker and removable liner inside. January 12, 2017
Rated 2 out of 5 by cold feet I have never written a review before but felt compelled to do so now. I have worn Sorels for many, many years and loved them. Fit was always great, stylish and comfy, warm. My feet are freezing in these boots. I read reviews before purchase, everyone said they were warm in Mich.!! I'm in Ct. and I have never had such cold feet, toes before in any of my boots. Not sure if I got a lemon of a boot or if they are all like this. I cannot recommend these for that reason. Rated 5 out of 5 by Snow Snow Snow I got these shoes a few weeks ago because I have a very small foot and the smallest size for women in the LLBean bean boots were too big. I find these shoes to be even more equip for snowy, cold weather because they have better tread and warmer lining in the boots than the LLbean boots. Recently we got about 8 inches of snow. I was out for quite some times in the snow and my feet did not get cold or wet at all, and I was just wearing normal socks. It was easy to walk and even run in the snow with these shoes on, even in slicker spots. I definitely recommend these over the LLbean boots and would recommend these to anyone looking for that duck boot style winter shoe January 9, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these!! I am so so happy these just arrived in the mail! I was iffy about ordering online due to reading sizing reviews, but I'm glad I did. I'm very short with a small foot - 4'9", usually size 5 in Sorel. However, based on reviews I ordered a 5.5. The 5.5 fits very well and are extremely warm! They are a little tight when wearing thick socks, but I believe the foot bed will become more stretched out after wearing them and I won't have a problem wearing thicker socks. I probably could have went with a size 6, but I love them so much I'm keeping the 5.5 - I'm inpatient and don't want to wait to return/reorder. I ordered the elk color and they are perfect, warm, and look wonderful with skinny jeans. I must says I chose these rain boots over some of the others due to their non-bulky size - I'm so happy I did due to my small figure. They don't make my feet look funny/big/clown-like. I love Sorel and will continue to be a Sorel customer! I definitely recommend! January 2, 2017
Rated 4 out of 5 by Runs small An 8 in other Sorel's fit me fine but I needed an 8 1/2 in this style. Tight across the ball of the foot. Otherwise, your typical stellar Sorel!!! December 28, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Love the look, but... I love these boots. Comfortable. Warm. Great. EXCEPT FOR, I am not happy that my left foot is a different brown than my right foot. Yes, two different colors. One shoe is much darker than the other and I didn't notice it until after I wore them out in sunlight. They are clearly two different colors. Almost as if one was weather treated and the other wasn't. I'm not too sure. I get that leather varies and one might be slightly off in color, but I wouldn't have ordered brown if I would have known the difference was so noticeable. Disappointed slightly. I should have got the black ones. December 17, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by No arch support the description says "arch support" but these boots do NOT have arch support. If you are flat footed, purchase these. If you have arches, or a doctor who recommends them to help your spine health, do not purchase these. I have mailed them back to return. I did purchase some Salomon boots that DO have arch support and are AMAZING! If arch support is not something you desire, these boots are for you. They have a comfortable foot bed cushion etc. December 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Now my favorite winter boots! I first ordered an 8 as I have a pair of Sorel casual shoes in an 8. But IMO these boots run a bit small. My toes were hitting the tip of the boot. Not really squished, but the boot was just too short. Ordered an 8.5 and now my toes are happy! I live in Minnesnowta, and hate to have cold feet. No worries now! I also like that these are a bit more stylish than my regular snow boots. I've worn these to work several times (casual workplace) and no one has questioned my choice of footwear. Would definitely recommend. December 16, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Fit I just bought this pair on Black Friday. I tried on and fell uncomfortable. I fell my toes were squeezed even though there is still space left in the front. I tried to spread my toes out but it was hardly to do. The feeling like I'm curling my toes in the boots and uncomfortable to walk. December 14, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Easily ripped off strap! Other than that, great style and warm. Great shoe. Loved the style, material, and they keep my feet warm with thick socks even in a brutal Chicago winter. I love Sorel and have had other shoes from the brand last me for years. However, as I was putting the boot on the other morning, one of the buckle straps on the side of the boot completely ripped off! I was so upset as these are my staple warm winter boots. I am trying to figure out how I can get them repaired, but I was so disappointed in this fault because I have only had the shoes for a year or so and only wear them a few months out of the year. Help, Sorel! December 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Most comfortable boot ever! I have these in black and cannot wait to get them in brown! They're the most comfortable shoes I own. I absolutely love them! As other reviewers say, they're a bit difficult to get on and off, but that's probably why they're so comfy! The laces don't come undone. I'm normally a 7.5, but sometimes an 8 in sneakers. I got an 8 and they are even a tiny bit small. December 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pure Awesomeness Seriously the best boots ever. Cute and functional :) Love em December 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these I have worn the boots about 5 times. I live in Portland, OR so I will be living in them in the near future. They are super comfy. I wish they were slip on but that is my lazy preference. November 29, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Slightly disappointed Last winter I had gotten some ankle boots that ended up splitting in both boots between the rubber and leather. Got these as a replacement. Love the look of these. Aesthetically appealing. I am a true 7.5, and went with the 7.5 with these. Length-wise they were great. However, I have a little bit of a wide foot and where the seaming was between the leather and rubber seemed a bit tight. I figure they would've packed out with use and wear. But, I returned them because around the ankle they folded in on the back side of my ankle. Wore them around the house, tied them different ways.. Couldn't do it. They were my favorite for snow boot options.. Disappointed I have to make a secondary pick. November 27, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Liner comes out constantly The boot is comfortable and waterproof, definitely both pros. I also like the heel height. However, the design makes it really tough/time consuming to take on and off. If the laces slid more easily through the loops, it would be a little easier to put on and remove the boots. However, my primary issue with these is how the liner isn't fully attached to the boot. It's sewn in at the top, but the rest of the liner frequently comes out when I pull my foot out. This makes taking them off even more irritating. October 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing winter shoes Great fit. Amazingly warm. Look super cute. Very sturdy. Good materials. I highly recommend these. October 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tried and True Took these boots on a 10 day trek through France in February, and they were magnificent! I could NOT be more pleased. Originally I was looking at another brand that was backordered til kingdom come, and these were cuter anyway (I got the Elk color), so I went for it! Sizing - after reading the reviews I was totally torn on what size to get for my wide, flat feet. Typically I am a 7.5 in heels and an 8 in tennis shoes. I stayed true to the size 8 and had no problems, but only after hyper analyzing the dimensions of my foot. Even with wool socks I could put them on just fine. Durability - I was on my feet constantly, backpacking with my sister through towns, castles, and museums. These are lightweight and can be worn for looooong periods of time with no problems. To break them in I just wore them around all day one Saturday previous to make sure they wouldn't kill my feet. They have held up beautifully and did a great job in uncertain springtime weather. Function - as cute and awesome as these are, it is important to note their function. They are perfect for light rain or snow, running errands in inclement weather, or even if you just need warmer footwear for a cold day. But they are not the boots you wear to go sledding, or anything involving major snow. I wore them in light snow, cold, heavy rain, light rain and there wasn't a single leak. My feet stayed dry and warm. Please note that they are not golashes either, so puddle jumping is not recommended. All in all, I would totally recommend them. I anticipate them lasting me a long time. Rated 5 out of 5 by Feel invincible in these boots! I did a lot of research before purchasing these and have no regrets. They're warm, comfortable, non-slip and pretty enough for a New York City winter. The heel is great too, having a little extra height helps. February 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot! Love it! -- just runs a little small. Will exchange. February 19, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Runs small, quite slippery on tile Boot is really beautiful but runs small. I took the cue from reviews and ordered a size up. I normally get a 7.5 but ordered an 8.5. Fit was almost ok, but with thick socks, I knew I needed to size up even more to a 9. Got the size 9 and it fit well with wool socks with a little wiggle room for even thicker socks. I used it for a week under different conditions -- cold, snow, rain. They generally performed well except on wet tile! The boot has poor traction and I found myself slipping a few times as I walked on subway platforms and terminals through Grand Central Station in NY on even slightly wet tile! Also found it slippery on some pebble-washed or tiled street corners. As I wanted this boot to be my go to boot in the winter, I am afraid it just didn't cut it. I could not risk slipping and sliding especially during the rush hour commute. Had to return. I ended up buying the Joan of Artic Wedge Mid Boot which turned out to be extremely comfortable with good traction and also runs true to size. (Online returns will cost you; hopefully you have a brick and mortar in your city so you don't have to pay for return shipping fees.) February 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these These boots are tooo cute. Love the color and how they go with everything - just wished they were on sale :/ February 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great every day boot I researched a lot of Sorel boots before I landed on these, and they're exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a boot that I could wear around the office and to the bar that wouldn't be too chunky, but I also wanted something that would stand up warmth and tread wise walking around town and around the ski resort. These really fit the bill, durable, warm, and slim fitting but not clunky and heavy. I'd read the reviews saying these run small. Sometimes I wear a 7.5, usually I'm an 8. I ordered the 8.5 to be safe and thinking I wanted room for thick socks in them, but I wish I'd ordered the size 8. Especially since usually they are too warm to wear thick wool socks with. Rated 4 out of 5 by Inside liner?? I got mine today and I love them!!! They do for slightly snug hopefully they will break in...however when I took the left shoe off the entire liner and sole starting coming out. Has anyone else had or heard of this happening? January 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Actually measure your feet! I was nervous about ordering these shoes because I wasn't able to try them on. I read a TON of reviews on these shoes from this website and others. Many people were saying to up half a size. I normally wear a 5.5 to 6, I was going to order a 6.5 but it was sold out so I ordered the 6. It fits pretty perfectly . I measured my feet like the chart says and I fit right in what it says is the size 6. So if you're wondering measure your feet! Anyways they are so cute! Definitely happy I ordered them! January 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This boot is perfect! I went to a Sorel store near my home and tried on these boots in another color. The sales rep helped me order them from the store (free shipping!) and they arrived at my home in the color I wanted. The boots fit great, are SO warm, and aren't bulky. They're actually very comfortable which is rare for a heavy snow boot like this. This was my third pair of Sorel's and by far my favorite yet! Highly recommend! January 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm and comfy I always love Sorel products and this one did not disappointment me either. Warm, comfy and keeps your feet dry in wet/snowy weather. January 23, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor manufacturing The shoes were received on time, but the shoes were put together so poorly I couldn't even put my foot in the boot. This should never have been sent to any person and I was able to return the shoes, but they did not offer any type of coupon or discount after receiving a pair of shoes that were unsuitable for shipping. Now winter is almost over and I still haven't gotten a new pair January 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Glad I Bought Them After much searching and even purchasing another brand of boot, I kept coming back to Sorel. I wanted a boot that could stand up to Indiana winter slush and snow but that would also look stylish enough to wear casually (amidst all that slush and snow), and the Winter Fancy Lace II is exactly what I need. For me, it hits at just the right height a few inches above my ankle (instead of mid-calf like some others I tried on). The felt lining on the inside is warm, and the rubber outsole keeps my feet dry. I like the little bit of heel, as well, for the slight elevation out of the slush. I typically wear a 9 or 9 1/2. At the time I purchased, no 9 1/2s were available in the peat moss color, so I ordered 9s. I can feel my big toes at the end of the boot just a bit but not to the point of being uncomfortable, even with thick socks. (A 9 1/2 probably would have been best, but--hey--I have no patience.) I really like the way the peat moss color coordinates with black and brown, and these boots look good over skinny jeans or even under boot cut jeans, but I feel confident in their construction to wear them out in the snow to play with my kids, too. I expect these will last me many years! January 16, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Run Small but break-in I loved the look of these boots and, after reading the reviews, I ordered a full size up. When I got them I was still concerned about them being too small. but, I stuck with it and they loosened up after a few days. I will say, if you have narrow feet, be wary. They seem to be wide and short in nature. January 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by First Pair = Love! I read many reviews and was skeptical about what size to order. I am a normal size 6.5 and after measuring my foot by Sorel measurements.. it also concluded 6.5 as well. So I ordered the boot in my normal size and they are PERFECT! I was surprised at how flexible they are, I assumed they would be pretty stiff.. and they're not! Today is my first day wearing them after I got them for my birthday yesterday and so far I am very pleased! Not to hot & very comfy (as soon as I put them on). The only thing that was not what I expected is that the shaft is a lot bigger and fits pretty loose, but still great for wearing thick or extra socks! Over all love these boots 100% and will be a returning Sorel customer! January 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE THIS BOOT!!!!! This boot fits great and looks super cute at the same time! Very comfortable! I walked around in them all day at the mall and my feet felt great!! I also use them for horse back riding so they have gotten a bit muddy before but they are super easy to wipe off! Love this boot!!! January 13, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Everyday Boot I really like this boot. I wear them quite often as the weather is so poor in Oregon currently. They rise just to my calf muscle so they are still cute to tuck my jeans into. They are waterproof and have long laces which are a plus. The only downside to this boot is that they run a bit small. I am normally a 7 and I bought a 7.5 because I could not fit my foot into the 7. My toes still touch the front when I walk but somehow still feel big when sitting. Overall, great boot and I wear them all the time. January 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cute bootie! I ordered these boots in the peat moss color and it goes with everything! There is a nice soft black fleece lining throughout the boot that keeps your feet warm. In my opinion, this boot is the cutest snow bootie of the season! January 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cute & Comfy These boots have been on my wishlist for a while now & I was so happy to receive them for Christmas! Conveniently it just snowed in New England and I was so eager to put my new boots to use. They are lightweight, casual, trendy, & super comfortable! I do wish they were a LITTLE warmer though. Maybe I have bad circulation but my toes still are cold & you can't wear socks that are too thick with these boots otherwise you can't get your foot in comfortably. These boots definitely run small. I am usually a size 4.5-5 and based on reviews I got them in a 5.5 & they fit PERFECTLY. Skim through the other reviews & look at other people's size info to see if you need a half or full size up. I received 2 pairs as gifts actually. I plan to return one and try some Sorel slippers on for size! These boots have made a Sorel fan out of me! December 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best ever. I have had these boots for about two weeks now and I love them. I usually wear a size 6 and a 7 fits me perfectly, so they do run small. I live in an area that gets a lot of snow and I got these as an everyday wear boot that doesn't feel like I'm wearing a huge snow boot. They are so comfortable even after wearing them during a double serving shift! They are a little hard to get on but they have already loosened up in just the two weeks that I have owned them. December 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product has has nice styling and features I purchased this Item as gift for my daughter who is very hard to buy for. She absolutely loved them for style and the waterproof feature. These boots were less expensive on this site then at local stores. I would recommend this product to anyone. December 21, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great Look, Bad Fit I love the look of this boot. However the insole doesn't seem to lay very flat. It's not glued to the bottom and is difficult to get to the very end of the toe which makes it uncomfortable. I've tried two pairs and had the same problem with both. I ended up returning both and choosing different Sorels. December 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Boots I wanted some shorter boots what weren't heavy but kept my feet dry and warm. I ordered a half size up based on the reviews and they fit perfectly. They are super light weight and comfy. I wanted something that wasn't really bulky looking on my size 10 feet when I'm wearing skinny jeans. They look a little big on my feet but I don't know how to get away from that when looking for winter boots. I ordered the peatmoss color (which I love) and can wear them with anything.Overall I am very happy with them and get lots of compliments! December 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Warm boot but Nice, BUT I was disappointed in the foot bed. I think it should have more padding. I feel the ground at the ball of my foot Area . I don't want to feel the ground. I tried to find a liner but so far no luck. I purchased my size 7 1/2 fits nice with mid weight sock. December 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The most comfortable boots I own.... ...and I own A LOT of boots. They're great. December 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by First time Sorel boot owner Ordered these boots on a Monday night and received them on Thursday, which is about 10 days earlier than anticipated. Wonderful. I am a true 7.5, average width, and after reading the reviews I ordered an 8. They are plenty roomy with just a thin sock on and so I'm sure they will be nice & snug with a thick wool sock. I probably would have been fine with a 7.5. I plan on wearing them this winter riding my fat tire bike so wanted to be able to wear thicker socks anyway. They are lightweight and don't feel heavy or clunky at all. Love the look of them and versatility and will wear them with everything. I got the peat moss/black and am happy I did. A few people mentioned low quality and trouble with the inside of the boot rubbing the back of their heel. I am pleased with the quality for the price. The inside of the boot has a layer of fleece lining and is very soft. I could easily wear no socks and be comfortable. I will definitely consider buying Sorel boots again. December 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these shoes First off i was happy i could try them on before i bought them, so i was able to get one size larger. I think it has to do with the lining and the heel that made my toes feel like they were rubbing on the insides. But now that i have them, i love them. They keep my feet warm and dry. I will be interested to see how warm they stay in Michigan but for Portland winters they are great. Not the kind of shoe that i could walk many miles in (unfortunately) but love them for short distances and around town. December 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good boots I first ordered the 1964 Premium LTR Boot and it wasn't exactly what I was expecting so I returned them and got these in the Peatmoss green. I love the color and the look of the boot! I normally wear a 7 but ordered a 7.5 because of the reviews saying they run a but small. The 7.5 fits perfectly. Since I've had the boots the weather has been fairly mild, so I've only worn them in rainy weather. They have been perfect for chilly, rainy days, but I'm eager to see how they perform in colder, snowy weather. December 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots, but they run small! I've had a beautiful pair of Tivolis for about six years that I bought in my regular size 8.5. They withstood a few of Berlin's rainy winters and Iowa's frigid temps and salty sidewalks and they continue to look awesome and keep my feet warm and dry. However, every year brought the agony of having to "break them in" again and left me with painful sores on my Achilles heels. This year I finally went and tried on a new pair in the store and ended up getting a size 10, which is perfect. I second the recommendation to order at least a size up. I have wide feet but I have plenty of room for thick socks and so far there are no hot spots on the heels or anywhere else. Visually they don't look much larger than my normal shoe size, which I was worried about. Looking forward to spending another six years (and hopefully more) with my new boots. November 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT SHOE! BUT... if you are smart, listen to these reviews before ordering! just recieved my peatmosses & love them.I am normally a 6.5/7 in various shoes; it just depends. after looking at reviews I went with the 7.5 to be safe & quite honestly couldve gotten away with an 8 as well. with the 7.5 i am able to wear a light/heavy sock but with the 8 I may have had a tiny bit more wiggle room than the 7.5. I would reccomened going up .5 to 1 whole size up. The boots are comfy & beautiful! November 26, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love these boots! I've been waiting for generation 2 of these boots all year! They're perfect for what I need, mainly just wet, cold (not freezing) weather. I'm glad I read reviews and ordered a full size up though, because I'm sure they would have pinched otherwise. I usually wear a 8.5 or 9, and I ordered a size 10 in these. I've got just enough wiggle room, and could wear light or heavy socks no problem. My one (and only) complaint is the laces - which I switched immediately upon arrival. September 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great waterproof boot I've had this boot since early December as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend. By far my favorite pair of boots I own! I wear them whenever I can, and I can vouch for their waterproof-ness and insulation. I've walked through puddles, and even wore them on the beach the other day where the waves went past my ankles, but my feet remained dry the whole time! These are the cutest and most functional boots ever, and are so much more different than traditional rain boots. I love them!! (btw I own the Elk color and I love it, it's the perfect color to match my outfits with!) July 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sorel for the college student I have been patiently waiting to find the perfect Sorel boot to fit my needs. As a college student, I’m often out on campus, waiting for buses, and still playing in the snow. I was weary about buying your boot online due to previous comments about sizing. I ended up buying the Women’s Winter Fancy Lace II in store and am happy with my purchase. Boot Rating Criteria My main concerns were fit, weight, weather, and style. The fit of the boot is what held me back from purchasing online. I did look at the size chart but was untrusting. A combination of Sorel’s size chart and categorizing the fit to be small, buying the size 9 boot and measuring my foot at 25.5 centimeters was accurate. The area around the toes was a bit larger than most other shoes; this is understandable for a winter boot in order to wear larger socks. Considering the boot is made for light snow, the weight of the boot is not overbearing, making them easy to walk in. I used the boot for about three hours while out sledding. This was the only time my feet have been cold in my Sorel boots. I assumed the high quality boots would provide warmth for that long, but they are considered to work best in casual and light snow environments. The style is up-to-date while keeping my feet dry; essentially perfect for a college student. As a student at Iowa State University, where winters are occasionally in the negative digits, I highly recommend this boot for the casual and light snow purpose it is directed to serve.
