Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots!! I LOVE my new boots. They are comfortable, stylish, and sturdy. The only thing is that they run a little small so I had to round up a full size! But other than that they are perfect!!!! Thanks! July 17, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too small, calves, TRY ON in person This beautiful boot ran true to size for my feet. But was waaay too small for my calves. My calves aren't overly large. I would recommend trying on this boot in the store, rather than ordering online. It cost $20 for return shipping. I would've loved the boot had it fit properly. April 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Riding tall boot in the shale I am happy with this product the color is great for all year around..:) So excited to try the new spring & summer shoes :) March 23, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not Waterproof Love the look of these boots and the 1/2 sizes but these boots are not waterproof. The boots leak where the rubber meets the leather. Standing in water of 2 inches, seconds later the water starts seeping in. Walking in rain only is okay but if puddle is deep enough to cover the rubber part of the boot then you will have wet feet. I tried two pair of these as I really wanted to own them. My $18 rubber rain boots are waterproof even in deeper levels of water. I love Sorel products and wish it could have worked out With these boots. March 13, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great boot - too snug around the calve I bought these boots a couple years back, super cute!!! However, I think the sizing around the calves have tightened up - they don't fit me now. Great quality, super cute - just a little too tight now. February 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots! I've ordered Hunter boots several times and returned them each time. These boots are great and a much better option than the Hunters. They are comfortable, easy to wear all day and warm. They don't sag in the front. I love them! February 26, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Meeting your idol Besides the Joan of Arcs, THIS is the boot that I've been lusting for since the beginning of my love affair with Sorel. And NOW I have them!!!! I initially wanted nutmeg but they didn't have it in my size (they ran short on me so I got a 9.5) so I got the shale. Now....let me start off by saying I absolutely LOOOOOVE the look of this boot! I mean, it is so unique with it's style, shape and color...there's none like it. And so far, they do keep me dry. OK on warmth (if it's below 40 or lightly snowy I wear my WWF Tall IIs), but definitely dry. But I am SO disappointed!!! First off, they are TORTUROUS to get on!!! it is sooooo TIGHT in the ankle area, the lining doesn't glide well with socks so your foot keeps getting stuck and the way they're shaped it's very hard to maneuver your foot in. I almost got a charlie horse getting them on for the first time. THEN, once you finally get them on, the rubber duck boot part is wide and roomy but stiff so my feet slide around and because the rubber doesn't give, my toes rub against the edges. And I also feel like there's no arch support. It's a weird feeling since my other Sorel boots fit so well and support my feet so much. THIRD, the ankle fit is just down right PAINFUL!!! It comes in in the back and rubs the back of my ankle and achilles, it hits me there and hurts when I walk. On the left side, it rubs on the top front of my ankle. It's like the ankle is cut too narrow and I have small ankles so that's saying a LOT. And finally, you can just forget about taking them off. If putting them on is hard, taking them off is near IMPOSSIBLE!!! I seriously have to have help getting them off and it's STILL a struggle!! Now in all fairness, I've worn them about 4 times now and I THINK the leather is giving a tiiiiny bit but STILL!!! Talk about having to break some boots in!!! This is a lot. But even after all this, they are so GORGEOUS that I suffer through...though I do still hesitate and think about it before every attempt to wear them (do I seriously FEEL like going through all this???). This boot to me is the equivalent of meeting your idol; even though you still think they are gorgeous, most times, they just never live up to your ideal of them.... February 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots! I ordered my usual size, because they didn't have any in a larger size. I have found these boots to fit great. With medium weight socks or thick tights, they actually feel roomy. I have not tried them with really thick socks, but these boots are so nice, I would probably not wear them out in deep snow anyway. I wear them around town, with dresses and tights, or tucked in jeans, and finally feel like I'm not going to slip and injure myself on snowy sidewalks. February 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Adorable and functional I've wanted these boots for awhile now and snagged a pair when they went on sale. Sizing is how most reviews say; they run small. I'm generally a 6.5 and I orders a 7. They fit well, even a little snug if I wear thicker socks. I have athletic calves, not big but definitely not twiggy. I have plenty of room in the calf area. The shale color is more grey than pictures on the website; I would check out Pinterest to see a better picture of the color. These are comfortable and warm; fuzzy lining down the shaft making them cozy. I'm very impressed! February 14, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Ummm...yes. I wear a size 7 and I ordered a 7 and they fit perfectly. I literally love rainy days now. Perfect with casual dresses. I wore them to work and every female told me how adorable they are. Do yourself a favor and get a pair. February 11, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by LUV this boot BUT... I luv the look of this chic little number BUT there is a strangely difficult sharp angle from the shaft into the shoe bed of this boot that makes it almost impossible to slide them on-there are 2 suede tabs at top of shaft that sort of help to pull (with all of my strength) the boot on. I loved the style and sale price so much that I decided to keep these adorable boots inspite of the difficulty getting the boots on!!! :) February 11, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice boot Sorel boots are nice; not for people with long narrow feet and toes. Toes feel cramped. February 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot I love this boot. I have large calves and it is a tight fit but they are breaking in nicely. February 8, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed I love the style of these boots & was really hoping they would work. They do fit small (I'm a 7, definitely would need a 7.5, perhaps even an 8, if I were to wear with heavy socks). They look great; the leather shaft is soft & lining is cozy, but the rubber feels thin (no way this would keep you warm) & I was really concerned about the longevity of the boot; seems more fashionable than functional. So, as much as I wanted to exchange for the larger size, I opted not to; these just don't feel like a rugged Sorel boot...just have that "look". So, if you want a functional rugged waterproof boot, this likely will not fit the bill, but if you just want something that looks different than a rubber well ie rain boot, then this may do it! Definitely not a boot I would recommend for the winter/colder climates. February 5, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Expensive To Try On First of all, I have several Sorel boots that I love. Secondly I know to order a size up. Sadly these boots are oddly constructed and my foot had difficulty making the tight right angle into the shoe part. It cost me $16.00 just to try them on. Yes, $6.00 non-refundable shipping from Sorel and then $10.00 to send them back. Do I want to try on another size or style? No. February 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by SO IN LOVE I am COMPLETELY obsessed with these boots. I was a little concerned after reading the reviews that they were going to fall apart pretty quickly, but I have worn these boots constantly and no complaints so far. The only possible difference is that I live in Texas and they are not exposed to the elements as much as they would be further north. I got them in the Shale and couldn't be happier! I get multiple compliments on them every time I wear them! I cannot wait to purchase my next pair of Sorel boots!! February 5, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed customer.... I love the boot! As an adult my feet are small. The upper part of the boot did not fit at all. The boot that I ordered has expander in the back however it can't be expanded due to (not sure what to call it# buckle piece will not expand. I tried on my girlfriends that were a size nine and the upper part fit perfectly. I called to see if boot came in larger calf area and was told they didn't. :# So had to return the boots which in total cost me $23.00 in shipping fees. Something to think about covering shipping cost and making the calf area of the boots larger. I would recommend SOREL boots however beware of size runs small and upper part of boot very small. February 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite winter boots!! I love love love (etc!) my Sorel Slimpacks! I wish it was cold more often in Alabama (just kidding) so I could wear them even more! They are made so well and are beautiful on. I have gotten numerous compliments. My husband had me order some Sorels for him when I got mine in. Regarding the sizing... I typically wear a 7, but fortunately had tried on a pair prior to ordering from Sorel.com and knew to order a half-size up. They run slightly small. February 4, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Calf size Review I purchased these boots because the Slimboot did not fit my calves. I have large calves. Athletic, but large. (Approx 16.5") I usually need to purchase wide calf boots, and even then it's iffy! I am able to wear these boots with thin leggings and tall socks. (Haven't attempted jeans inside the boot, but doubt I have enough room -yet.) The leather has begun to stretch, as I thought and hoped it would. The boots do buckle a little in the ankles, but as the leather stretches, I'll be able to pull them on fully (I hope). I wear an 8.5 in all shoes/boots. I bought a 9 in hopes that maybe the calf would be a tad wider. I am glad I purchased one half size up. Not only for the calf, but because the sole and toe of the boot seems to be a bit thin, and I now have enough room to put a thick felt sole in to keep my feet warmer. The leather scratches easily, which is obviously what leather does, so make sure you put a protectant on before you wear these boots. I have high hopes that the leather will stretch a bit more and I'll be wearing these boots more comfortably, and with jeans. If you have big calves, these are worth a shot! What's the worst that could happen, you have to return them? (Someday I hope they will figure out that not all women have stick legs and come out with a boot that work for us too.) January 31, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mostly good, so far I only just received these, so I'll say upfront that I can't speak to durability yet. Regarding fit, however, I'd say the description of "slightly small" seems accurate. I'm a size 7 in most shoes, regular width, and my right foot is slightly bigger (not enough to notice in most shoes). I'd say that if you have a wide foot, high arch, or want to wear multiple or very thick socks - size up a half or full size. I ordered my regular 7, and can comfortably wear these with an average-weight marled cotton sock, but thick wool socks wouldn't work. The right boot (larger foot) does fit, but I can feel a different across the bridge of my foot. I think a 7.5 would have REQUIRED thick socks, so I'm happy with the 7s, but if you want the option go up. I have another pair of Sorels, the Slim Shorties, in a 7 and these definitely fit smaller, if that helps anyone. As for getting boots on/off, I used the pull tabs and put them on while standing, and had no issues. January 26, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Small I absolutely love these boots and ordered them a 1/2 size large, received them today in the 7 1/2 instead of my normal size 7 and they are still to small and even worse there are none left to order in a size 8 so no boots for me :-( January 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Function and Cute all in One I am glad I purchased these boots while they were on sale. I wear a size 10 normally and I ordered a 10.5 due to the reviews and my other Sorel boots are a 10.5. To me I could have gotten away with a 10. They are true to your regular size. No issues getting them on or off. Overall a cute boot. January 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cute Functional Boots! I love these boots! I'm in Washington and it's nice to have a cute casual boot that protects you from the rain. I bought a 7 which is my normal size and they fit prefect. If you have bigger than average calves, these might not be for you. No zipper! January 20, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love! I love these boots! They're beautiful and of great quality! Even though they are fleece lined I still recommend warm socks with them if you live in a cold and snowy climate. I have some difficulty getting the boots off because the leather is not quite worn in yet so my foot tends to get stuck.I have skinny calves so I was afraid I'd be swimming in these boots and the leather uppers would flop around but they fit nicely and I adjusted them so they are a little bit of a snugger fit. Overall I recommend them! January 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stylish & waterproof!! I have never been a huge fan of the "duck" boots, I saw these on Athleta's website and I HAD to have them. They were sold out so I came directly to Sorels website. They were delivered FAST! These are fun, stylish and weatherproof. They do run a bit small in the foot so go up 1/2 size. You can cinch the back of the calf too...LOVE these! January 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love em! I wear an 8 normally and got a 8.5 because of previous reviews. They fit perfect! I also like to wear a couple pairs of socks, no problem with these boots! I walk dogs for a living, usually 10-15 miles a day. These boots are holding up so far!! Stylish, comfy and WARM. Thx!! January 16, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Gorgous but not warm I love these boots. They are gorgeous and definitely water proof. But they are not warm enough for a Midwestern winter. I live in Chicago and they only protect until about 30 degrees and after that, you need a very heavy sock. My toes are still cold even then. If you don't live where temperatures fall below freezing, great. If you need something that will really protect you from the cold, this is not your boot. January 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot!!!! I have been wanting these boots for the past few months. I live in wet Pacific NW and out in the community for work; so I need boots to dress up and down. These are perfect! I usually wear 9.5 size but went with 10. I'm glad I did! I should get another color! I went with grey/shale. The color combo goes with lots of leggings, skirts, and jeans. January 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by So many compliments! The boots are awesome! My only complaint is that they do run a tad smile. I wear an 8 and my toes touch the end of these. I read the reviews stating to order a half size up but they were out of 8.5 so I took a chance. The 8 isn't terrible but I can't wear thick wool socks with them. Luckily I live in South Carolina so we don't really need thick socks! Overall I love them and have received tons of compliments! January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by All Season Boot Usually wear a 9.5, ordered a 10 based on reviews. When I first got them they seemed a little tight/stiff wearing them with medium guage wool socks. Wore them in the house for the afternoon and after they warmed up they fit perfectly. Plenty of opportunities to wear them in the rain, feet stay warm and dry. Have had them on all day at work and my feet did not get too hot. Wore them shopping all day, comfortable to walk in, did not rub on my heels. Have not had them in the snow yet. January 11, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Actual riding boot I bought these boots looking for something I could actually ride in that are water proof. The toe is slim enough to fit in a stirrup. A little difficult to put a spur on, and the heel is a little tall. However, works great for going between wash rack back to the saddle. The fit between my two boots is different for some reason but overall, I can't complain and it's much better than having to switch between a muck boot and then a riding boot. I've only had them 2 weeks so far and haven't put any cracks in them, so I hope they will last me thru the winter with as much as they will be worn. So far so good! My feet are warm and dry and they look good to top it all off! January 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Boots I love these boots! The nutmeg color is really pretty and goes with every color. I have 2 other pair of Sorel boots in a size 7. I originally ordered a 7.5 because I read the reviews about the small fit. I had to return them for an 8, which fit much better. I am very happy with these boots!! January 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Favorites! I actually purchased these in December of 2013. They have been in rain storms, ice storms, and snow stores. They have worked on a farm, and been joy riding on a four wheeler in knee deep southern mud and cleaned up and worn to a nice dinner. It can be sunny, 75 degrees, and snowing with 28 degrees in the same week in the south. These boots are by far the best boots I have owned. Two years later I still get asked where I got my boots. I wear them just about every day! December 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT looking boots! Calves are slightly small I looooove these boots and have gotten oodles of compliments on then from friends, family, and coworkers. (I got the slate color.) I read reviews about the leather cracking after about a year, but I've only have the boots for a few weeks, so I can't speak to that yet. My only minor complaint is that the calves are a bit small. I have athletic calves (about 15.5" around), and they fit very snugly into the boots--to the point that they're a little hard to wear with jeans. I'm hoping the leather with stretch a little over time and with more wear. Other than that, I'm pleased as punch with these boots! December 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love Love Love I love these boots! I debated on purchasing them because of all the mixed reviews about the calf size. I went ahead and bought them! My first reaction when putting on the boot is oh no there too tight in the calf! I knew the leather will stretch and the more I wear them the more it will stretch. They did stretch! Now one of my favorite pairs of boots! I normally wear a 5.5-6. All the other reviews stated to size a 1/2 size up. I ordered a 6.5 and it's great! I have got so many compliments! December 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boot but order true to size... I read reviews as well as the sorel website that said this boot ran small so I ordered half size bigger and it is far too large. Order true to size, does not run small. A total pain to return so I had to keep the larger size so I didn't have to deal with the hassle of an online return. Otherwise love the boot. Very comfortable and stylish December 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love Them! I've been eyeing these boots for quite some time and they went on sale and I jumped on it. I'm so glad, they are really comfortable and high quality. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico and will be able to wear them all the time with leggings, jeans and skirts. We have had a lot of snow early this year and the soles have a good grip when I'm working outside. December 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots! Super comfortable and looking forward to some snow now! December 20, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed! Ive always loved my sorel products. I just bought a pair of the slimpack riding boots. I was so excited to wear them. When I put them on the first time whole lining just completely ripped out of one boot..... the store wont take them back! December 17, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Dissapointed I was truly disappointed when I opened these boots. They did not really look like the picture. I had long anticipated them and they were a complete bummer. The leather on the boots scratches easily so mine arrived with large scuffs and then I got some more scuffs on the boots just as I tried them on for the first time. FYI: they definitely run small. Very disappointed in the product and I would not recommend it to anyone. December 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Janna Montana The boot is so cute! I have large calves (15") and it is snug, but fine. Most boots are too tight for me. These are not going to be warm enough for the very coldest Montana winter days (-20°), since there is almost no insulation in the foot. They were great for Christmas tree hunting and outdoor decorating in the snow at 20°. I wanted these for my days in "town" hauling kids and groceries through parking lots. I love that they keep my feet and pants dry. They have a heal that gives some grip, but they were slippery when I was standing in a wet skid steer bucket stapling Christmas lights to our barn, but anything would be. My foot is 9 3/4" and the 8 fits with wool socks. December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love You will not be disappointed! I have wanted these boots for over 2 years and never wanted to spend the money. They are prefect for wearing in the rain and the hockey arena! December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect winter barn and riding boot Absolutely love these boots. The look is very unique and they are a work horse around the barn. Not bulky but very warm. Flexible in the ankle and smooth leather on the inside of the leg make it perfect for riding. Great sole make them not slippery. I find the fit true to size. I am a 9 and ordered a 9, they fit perfectly with a regular boot sock. No zipper so you must pull them on. No biggy. I just grab hold of the pull tabs on either side of the shaft and they go right on. Slight difficulty pulling them off but I have a feeling that will get better with wear. I bought them in the Chestnut color. Very rich brown. Love them! December 17, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Sorel Riding Boot The boot is really nice looking....What I did not like was it was very difficult to get your foot in it, once in it fit fine. I returned mind because of how hard it was to get my foot in, not sure if a half of size up would have made a difference. Was disappointing since I have wanted this boot from last Christmas and got a great sale on it and that is why I only gave it 3 stars. December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots but as with most Sorel boots they run small I LOVE these boots. I have larger athletic calves and wear a size 11. I was concerned about the boot shaft circumference. I had wanted these boots for 2 years and decided to bite the bullet and order them. I was elated when they arrived and they fit perfectly after ordering a size 12! They are my most favorite fall riding boot and I feel they are well worth the money! December 16, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good Boot 99% of this boot was great. The fit, quality and such. However, I had to return them, because when I received them, they were all scratched up. Unacceptable. December 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect! Love! Love! Love these boots! I host outside events and they have been the perfect mix of style and comfort! December 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Awesome boots! Just slightly small-ish I'll start by saying that these boots are amazing - They look great and I get compliments on them all the time! That being said, I did read the reviews that they ran slightly small so I bought a half size larger than usual. The foot size isn't the actual problem - it's the calf size of the boots. And let me be clear, my calves are very small - usually I have plenty of room in my boots for big socks and leg warmers. So because the calves are so small, it causes the boots to buckle around the ankle which hurts when you wear them too long. Now either they are starting to wear in or I've developed an ankle callus so I'm used to them - but it's getting better. So I DEFINITELY recommend them, but you might want to try them on in the store before buying online... December 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Girl loves multiples! So, yes, I can't help myself. These boots are so different than what everyone else is wearing and I'm all about being different. This is my second pair, not sure they still sell the color (sort of a saddle tan) that I bought a few years ago, but I love them so much I wanted a back up pair! Just purchased the Nutmeg. I wear an 8 and bought an 8. Fits perfect. Comfortable and waterproof. After 2 years of wear they still look fabulous. I can't tell you how many compliments I get every time I wear them and feel like an advertisement board for Sorel because so many people have never heard of the brand! (Small Ohio town) I adore them! December 13, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Too Small The fit is too small. I'm normally a 4 1/2 or 5. I ordered a 5 1/2 and the shaft of the boots is still too small. I thought about ordering 6 but the foot and ankle would have been too big. So if you're OK with wearing thin socks and do not plan on wearing it over jeans or leggings, you could get away with wearing these boots. December 13, 2015
