How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 322 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Calf size Review I purchased these boots because the Slimboot did not fit my calves. I have large calves. Athletic, but large. (Approx 16.5") I usually need to purchase wide calf boots, and even then it's iffy! I am able to wear these boots with thin leggings and tall socks. (Haven't attempted jeans inside the boot, but doubt I have enough room -yet.) The leather has begun to stretch, as I thought and hoped it would. The boots do buckle a little in the ankles, but as the leather stretches, I'll be able to pull them on fully (I hope). I wear an 8.5 in all shoes/boots. I bought a 9 in hopes that maybe the calf would be a tad wider. I am glad I purchased one half size up. Not only for the calf, but because the sole and toe of the boot seems to be a bit thin, and I now have enough room to put a thick felt sole in to keep my feet warmer. The leather scratches easily, which is obviously what leather does, so make sure you put a protectant on before you wear these boots. I have high hopes that the leather will stretch a bit more and I'll be wearing these boots more comfortably, and with jeans. If you have big calves, these are worth a shot! What's the worst that could happen, you have to return them? (Someday I hope they will figure out that not all women have stick legs and come out with a boot that work for us too.) January 31, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mostly good, so far I only just received these, so I'll say upfront that I can't speak to durability yet. Regarding fit, however, I'd say the description of "slightly small" seems accurate. I'm a size 7 in most shoes, regular width, and my right foot is slightly bigger (not enough to notice in most shoes). I'd say that if you have a wide foot, high arch, or want to wear multiple or very thick socks - size up a half or full size. I ordered my regular 7, and can comfortably wear these with an average-weight marled cotton sock, but thick wool socks wouldn't work. The right boot (larger foot) does fit, but I can feel a different across the bridge of my foot. I think a 7.5 would have REQUIRED thick socks, so I'm happy with the 7s, but if you want the option go up. I have another pair of Sorels, the Slim Shorties, in a 7 and these definitely fit smaller, if that helps anyone. As for getting boots on/off, I used the pull tabs and put them on while standing, and had no issues. January 26, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Small I absolutely love these boots and ordered them a 1/2 size large, received them today in the 7 1/2 instead of my normal size 7 and they are still to small and even worse there are none left to order in a size 8 so no boots for me :-( January 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Function and Cute all in One I am glad I purchased these boots while they were on sale. I wear a size 10 normally and I ordered a 10.5 due to the reviews and my other Sorel boots are a 10.5. To me I could have gotten away with a 10. They are true to your regular size. No issues getting them on or off. Overall a cute boot. January 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cute Functional Boots! I love these boots! I'm in Washington and it's nice to have a cute casual boot that protects you from the rain. I bought a 7 which is my normal size and they fit prefect. If you have bigger than average calves, these might not be for you. No zipper! January 20, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love! I love these boots! They're beautiful and of great quality! Even though they are fleece lined I still recommend warm socks with them if you live in a cold and snowy climate. I have some difficulty getting the boots off because the leather is not quite worn in yet so my foot tends to get stuck.I have skinny calves so I was afraid I'd be swimming in these boots and the leather uppers would flop around but they fit nicely and I adjusted them so they are a little bit of a snugger fit. Overall I recommend them! January 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stylish & waterproof!! I have never been a huge fan of the "duck" boots, I saw these on Athleta's website and I HAD to have them. They were sold out so I came directly to Sorels website. They were delivered FAST! These are fun, stylish and weatherproof. They do run a bit small in the foot so go up 1/2 size. You can cinch the back of the calf too...LOVE these! January 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love em! I wear an 8 normally and got a 8.5 because of previous reviews. They fit perfect! I also like to wear a couple pairs of socks, no problem with these boots! I walk dogs for a living, usually 10-15 miles a day. These boots are holding up so far!! Stylish, comfy and WARM. Thx!! January 16, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Gorgous but not warm I love these boots. They are gorgeous and definitely water proof. But they are not warm enough for a Midwestern winter. I live in Chicago and they only protect until about 30 degrees and after that, you need a very heavy sock. My toes are still cold even then. If you don't live where temperatures fall below freezing, great. If you need something that will really protect you from the cold, this is not your boot. January 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot!!!! I have been wanting these boots for the past few months. I live in wet Pacific NW and out in the community for work; so I need boots to dress up and down. These are perfect! I usually wear 9.5 size but went with 10. I'm glad I did! I should get another color! I went with grey/shale. The color combo goes with lots of leggings, skirts, and jeans. January 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by So many compliments! The boots are awesome! My only complaint is that they do run a tad smile. I wear an 8 and my toes touch the end of these. I read the reviews stating to order a half size up but they were out of 8.5 so I took a chance. The 8 isn't terrible but I can't wear thick wool socks with them. Luckily I live in South Carolina so we don't really need thick socks! Overall I love them and have received tons of compliments! January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by All Season Boot Usually wear a 9.5, ordered a 10 based on reviews. When I first got them they seemed a little tight/stiff wearing them with medium guage wool socks. Wore them in the house for the afternoon and after they warmed up they fit perfectly. Plenty of opportunities to wear them in the rain, feet stay warm and dry. Have had them on all day at work and my feet did not get too hot. Wore them shopping all day, comfortable to walk in, did not rub on my heels. Have not had them in the snow yet. January 11, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Actual riding boot I bought these boots looking for something I could actually ride in that are water proof. The toe is slim enough to fit in a stirrup. A little difficult to put a spur on, and the heel is a little tall. However, works great for going between wash rack back to the saddle. The fit between my two boots is different for some reason but overall, I can't complain and it's much better than having to switch between a muck boot and then a riding boot. I've only had them 2 weeks so far and haven't put any cracks in them, so I hope they will last me thru the winter with as much as they will be worn. So far so good! My feet are warm and dry and they look good to top it all off! January 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Boots I love these boots! The nutmeg color is really pretty and goes with every color. I have 2 other pair of Sorel boots in a size 7. I originally ordered a 7.5 because I read the reviews about the small fit. I had to return them for an 8, which fit much better. I am very happy with these boots!! January 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Favorites! I actually purchased these in December of 2013. They have been in rain storms, ice storms, and snow stores. They have worked on a farm, and been joy riding on a four wheeler in knee deep southern mud and cleaned up and worn to a nice dinner. It can be sunny, 75 degrees, and snowing with 28 degrees in the same week in the south. These boots are by far the best boots I have owned. Two years later I still get asked where I got my boots. I wear them just about every day! December 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT looking boots! Calves are slightly small I looooove these boots and have gotten oodles of compliments on then from friends, family, and coworkers. (I got the slate color.) I read reviews about the leather cracking after about a year, but I've only have the boots for a few weeks, so I can't speak to that yet. My only minor complaint is that the calves are a bit small. I have athletic calves (about 15.5" around), and they fit very snugly into the boots--to the point that they're a little hard to wear with jeans. I'm hoping the leather with stretch a little over time and with more wear. Other than that, I'm pleased as punch with these boots! December 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love Love Love I love these boots! I debated on purchasing them because of all the mixed reviews about the calf size. I went ahead and bought them! My first reaction when putting on the boot is oh no there too tight in the calf! I knew the leather will stretch and the more I wear them the more it will stretch. They did stretch! Now one of my favorite pairs of boots! I normally wear a 5.5-6. All the other reviews stated to size a 1/2 size up. I ordered a 6.5 and it's great! I have got so many compliments! December 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boot but order true to size... I read reviews as well as the sorel website that said this boot ran small so I ordered half size bigger and it is far too large. Order true to size, does not run small. A total pain to return so I had to keep the larger size so I didn't have to deal with the hassle of an online return. Otherwise love the boot. Very comfortable and stylish December 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love Them! I've been eyeing these boots for quite some time and they went on sale and I jumped on it. I'm so glad, they are really comfortable and high quality. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico and will be able to wear them all the time with leggings, jeans and skirts. We have had a lot of snow early this year and the soles have a good grip when I'm working outside. December 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots! Super comfortable and looking forward to some snow now! December 20, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed! Ive always loved my sorel products. I just bought a pair of the slimpack riding boots. I was so excited to wear them. When I put them on the first time whole lining just completely ripped out of one boot..... the store wont take them back! December 17, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Dissapointed I was truly disappointed when I opened these boots. They did not really look like the picture. I had long anticipated them and they were a complete bummer. The leather on the boots scratches easily so mine arrived with large scuffs and then I got some more scuffs on the boots just as I tried them on for the first time. FYI: they definitely run small. Very disappointed in the product and I would not recommend it to anyone. December 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Janna Montana The boot is so cute! I have large calves (15") and it is snug, but fine. Most boots are too tight for me. These are not going to be warm enough for the very coldest Montana winter days (-20°), since there is almost no insulation in the foot. They were great for Christmas tree hunting and outdoor decorating in the snow at 20°. I wanted these for my days in "town" hauling kids and groceries through parking lots. I love that they keep my feet and pants dry. They have a heal that gives some grip, but they were slippery when I was standing in a wet skid steer bucket stapling Christmas lights to our barn, but anything would be. My foot is 9 3/4" and the 8 fits with wool socks. December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love You will not be disappointed! I have wanted these boots for over 2 years and never wanted to spend the money. They are prefect for wearing in the rain and the hockey arena! December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect winter barn and riding boot Absolutely love these boots. The look is very unique and they are a work horse around the barn. Not bulky but very warm. Flexible in the ankle and smooth leather on the inside of the leg make it perfect for riding. Great sole make them not slippery. I find the fit true to size. I am a 9 and ordered a 9, they fit perfectly with a regular boot sock. No zipper so you must pull them on. No biggy. I just grab hold of the pull tabs on either side of the shaft and they go right on. Slight difficulty pulling them off but I have a feeling that will get better with wear. I bought them in the Chestnut color. Very rich brown. Love them! December 17, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Sorel Riding Boot The boot is really nice looking....What I did not like was it was very difficult to get your foot in it, once in it fit fine. I returned mind because of how hard it was to get my foot in, not sure if a half of size up would have made a difference. Was disappointing since I have wanted this boot from last Christmas and got a great sale on it and that is why I only gave it 3 stars. December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots but as with most Sorel boots they run small I LOVE these boots. I have larger athletic calves and wear a size 11. I was concerned about the boot shaft circumference. I had wanted these boots for 2 years and decided to bite the bullet and order them. I was elated when they arrived and they fit perfectly after ordering a size 12! They are my most favorite fall riding boot and I feel they are well worth the money! December 16, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good Boot 99% of this boot was great. The fit, quality and such. However, I had to return them, because when I received them, they were all scratched up. Unacceptable. December 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect! Love! Love! Love these boots! I host outside events and they have been the perfect mix of style and comfort! December 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Awesome boots! Just slightly small-ish I'll start by saying that these boots are amazing - They look great and I get compliments on them all the time! That being said, I did read the reviews that they ran slightly small so I bought a half size larger than usual. The foot size isn't the actual problem - it's the calf size of the boots. And let me be clear, my calves are very small - usually I have plenty of room in my boots for big socks and leg warmers. So because the calves are so small, it causes the boots to buckle around the ankle which hurts when you wear them too long. Now either they are starting to wear in or I've developed an ankle callus so I'm used to them - but it's getting better. So I DEFINITELY recommend them, but you might want to try them on in the store before buying online... December 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Girl loves multiples! So, yes, I can't help myself. These boots are so different than what everyone else is wearing and I'm all about being different. This is my second pair, not sure they still sell the color (sort of a saddle tan) that I bought a few years ago, but I love them so much I wanted a back up pair! Just purchased the Nutmeg. I wear an 8 and bought an 8. Fits perfect. Comfortable and waterproof. After 2 years of wear they still look fabulous. I can't tell you how many compliments I get every time I wear them and feel like an advertisement board for Sorel because so many people have never heard of the brand! (Small Ohio town) I adore them! December 13, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Too Small The fit is too small. I'm normally a 4 1/2 or 5. I ordered a 5 1/2 and the shaft of the boots is still too small. I thought about ordering 6 but the foot and ankle would have been too big. So if you're OK with wearing thin socks and do not plan on wearing it over jeans or leggings, you could get away with wearing these boots. December 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by These boots are made for walkin I already own one pair of sorel boots that are mainly worn on cold dry days. True to size (6.5)worked for that pair with no problems. I ordered this pair 1/2 size up because I knew I'd be wearing these with thicker socks or 2 pair. That was my only worry while ordering and honestly, I'm ecstatic so far. I wore them the day I got them just to try it out. Very warm toasty toes. Easy to get into. A serious work out to get them off. My husband helped. I'm ok with that, I'm sure it will get easier. Unboxing was a real happy moment. The Shale was the right color for me! It got me out of the only brown or only black look. Beautiful. Looks just like the pic. Grip on bottom seems just right. Now all I need is snow to really test out quality/ warmth even more. December 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE this Boot I bought these last year and love them, they go with everything, the leg fits large on me so they fit well over skinny jeans and leggings, I wish I could make the calf part tighter. When I first got these they felt very heavy and hard to walk in but once I got use to them they are great. I have had people chase me down in a store multiple times to ask me where I got my boots :) Love the Shale Color December 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely Amazing Boots Adorable, Comfortable, Classy, Casual, Warm, Easy on & off, Absolutely love this boot! Would recommend them to anyone!! :) December 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than expected! My favorite pair of boots! I was worried they were going to be bulky and more functional than fashionable but I was pleasantly surprised! These are hands down my favorite boots! I normally wear a 8.5-9 but I didn't want them to look big in the calves. I didn't find them hard to put on, maybe it's because I have fairly narrow feet? But there is really no stretch through the boot (if any one rides horses and wears tall boots with no zippers this is kind of what they are like putting on). So happy I got these, especially one sale! December 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by These boots are a "must have"! I love my boots. They are comfortable, fashionable and very cute. I bought the gray ones which have a little black and a little brown on them so I can wear them with a lot of different colored jackets. I get complements on them every time I wear them. December 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very cute and unique boots These are so cute, comfy and unique. The ankles are just a bit tight but loosen as you wear them. Worn them in the cold and rain and snow and my feet stay warm and dry. I bought the shale and might get the nutmeg as I am wearing these almost everyday this season. Already have received a few compliments!! November 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice style I decided to get my true size 9, even though I considered a 9 1/2, based on the reviews. I have another pair of Sorrel's that are a 9 and they fit fine (I almost ordered 9 1/2, but was afraid they would look huge).I put on a pair of trouser socks because I read that they are hard to put on, and they went right on. I half large calves, and they fit fine. November 22, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Don't hold up. i fell in love with these boots when I saw them. I'm disappointed at their lack of quality owning them. The back leather tab fell off at the stitching immediately, the leather covering the heel began to peel off and tear after the first season. I just pulled them out for their third season and the rubber of the boot is cracking. Pretty much they do not stand the test of time. My last Sorels have been going for over 20 yrs which is why I gladly spend the money on these. Although, I love the way there look and fit they are for sure lacking in quality and construction. November 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Maybe a risky buy? I fell in love with these boots in the store and got them right away. I have pretty big calves but didn't notice them being hard to pull on. Out of curiosity, I checked reviews and saw that some people had said that after a few seasons, the rubber on the boots cracks and lets water in. These boots are BEAUTIFUL in person and I'm hopeful that this won't happen...a lot of people wrote great things about them. As of now, I'm completely thrilled with them. Don't wait for it to rain before you show them off! November 18, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Fit Is NOT SMALL I am a true size 7. After reading the reviews I ordered these in a 7 1/2. My foot slips and slides around in it hurts the tips of my toes when I wear them. However the boots are beautiful and well-made. I have to wear thick socks just to make them fit a little better but they are still too big. I wish I would've sent them back and ordered the size 7 that I am because these are expensive boots. November 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by IM IN LOVE I have hunter boots and had to get the adjustable ones because I have athletic calves so I was worried about getting these boots, but they fit! I'm normally an 11 and my friend of mine said hers are too big but everyone giving reviews said smaller and I ended up needing a 12. There is no way 11s would have fit. But they are so cute and comfortable! Best purchase this year! November 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by These boots! I just received my boots today. I ordered the shale in size 11, my normal size, after reading reviews that conflicted each other as far as sizing goes. I find that these boots run true to size despite reviews to the contrary. I have a narrow foot and average calf and I didn't find them difficult to get on or off either... Perhaps that is due to my narrow foot? The construction is good and the leather is of good quality. The color is beautiful! I can't wait to wear these. I just hope they don't start cracking near the toe like I've read in so many reviews. November 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this boots This are my favorite boots EVER!! I am so happy I bought them. They are warm and comfortable. October 31, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fairly Happy I'll be honest. I wasn't overly excited when I opened the box and saw my boots for the first time. They aren't as dainty as I was hoping they would be. I bought them to serve soley as a snow shoe (I know - they are boots - I just wasn't expecting them to be so bulgy#, but some of the reviews gave me the impression that I could wear these boots out for a night on the town #which, don't get me wrong, that will probably happen) but they are a bit clunky to play a role in my everyday wardrobe. Also, I bought a half size larger as suggested by reviews and my boots are probably half a size too big. It'll be okay with thick socks, but just know you'll probably be fine ordering your original size. Bottom line, I like the boots and will keep them but think they're a bit overpriced for the look/quality. October 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight boot Can't wait for snow! I bought 1/2 size up - great snug, fleece lined fit. Seem to be nice and warm for my cold walks with pup! Love the look - September 27, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful Boots, Great Customer Service, Questionable Quality... I got these boots in nutmeg last year and I fell in love! Beautiful leather, very cute and functional. I am 5'8" with an average calf and a narrow foot. I ordered my regular size 9 and they fit great even with a moderately thick sock. Comfortable, warm and they got a lot of compliments. I wore them regularly but in fairly mild Montana winter conditions (i.e. in town, not for backcountry hiking or anything). However, after about 3 months the leather on the heel started peeling off. Not a huge deal, but for $210 for a boot that says it's resistant to water, and in such a short time, no good. Plus it just looked ratty. Sorel was wonderful about offering a warrantly exchange... but there was no stock. Fast forward to this fall 2015, I finally got my new pair in size 9, Nori. Also beautiful... but I couldn't even get my foot past the ankle! Totally a different fit. Again, Sorel was very agreeable to exchanging for a larger size... Outcome to be determined... The style of the boot, customer service and hope are what gets the boot a rating of 4. Quality gets a second chance to measure up. September 23, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very disappointing Just received these boots. Opened box to find boots scratched and glue stuck on them. Decided I would still try one on to see if the reviews were right and boot fit small. They were correct they need to be one full size up and this is because of a design flaw. The heel of the boot is set back, do to the higher heel. So your foot sits forward. Any way looks great on the models not so great in real life. I am returning these boots. September 17, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by WET FEET!! My teenage daughter & I LOVE the way these Slimpac tall riding boots look and fit. However, I have had to send 2 of the 3 pairs I have purchased back because of cracks in the rubber right above and beside the toes in both boots of all pairs. It took about 10 months to get the 1st replacement pair and I am still waiting on the 2nd (since 11/14). The 3rd pair of boots also have cracks in the same spot but at this point I don't want them to have 2 pairs of boots with no prospect of getting them replaced. The 1 pair or replacement boots we did get now are starting to get the exact same cracks. We love these boots! They are not too hot to wear in Alabama and they look and fit great while they last. Our experience is thst it takes about 3 months of moderate wear (to school and around town) for the boots to develop cracks that actually let water in. You can still wear them (and we do) with the cracks but just be prepared for wet feet if water comes anywhere near the side of your big toe. September 12, 2015
