How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fairly Happy I'll be honest. I wasn't overly excited when I opened the box and saw my boots for the first time. They aren't as dainty as I was hoping they would be. I bought them to serve soley as a snow shoe (I know - they are boots - I just wasn't expecting them to be so bulgy#, but some of the reviews gave me the impression that I could wear these boots out for a night on the town #which, don't get me wrong, that will probably happen) but they are a bit clunky to play a role in my everyday wardrobe. Also, I bought a half size larger as suggested by reviews and my boots are probably half a size too big. It'll be okay with thick socks, but just know you'll probably be fine ordering your original size. Bottom line, I like the boots and will keep them but think they're a bit overpriced for the look/quality. October 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight boot Can't wait for snow! I bought 1/2 size up - great snug, fleece lined fit. Seem to be nice and warm for my cold walks with pup! Love the look - September 27, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful Boots, Great Customer Service, Questionable Quality... I got these boots in nutmeg last year and I fell in love! Beautiful leather, very cute and functional. I am 5'8" with an average calf and a narrow foot. I ordered my regular size 9 and they fit great even with a moderately thick sock. Comfortable, warm and they got a lot of compliments. I wore them regularly but in fairly mild Montana winter conditions (i.e. in town, not for backcountry hiking or anything). However, after about 3 months the leather on the heel started peeling off. Not a huge deal, but for $210 for a boot that says it's resistant to water, and in such a short time, no good. Plus it just looked ratty. Sorel was wonderful about offering a warrantly exchange... but there was no stock. Fast forward to this fall 2015, I finally got my new pair in size 9, Nori. Also beautiful... but I couldn't even get my foot past the ankle! Totally a different fit. Again, Sorel was very agreeable to exchanging for a larger size... Outcome to be determined... The style of the boot, customer service and hope are what gets the boot a rating of 4. Quality gets a second chance to measure up. September 23, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very disappointing Just received these boots. Opened box to find boots scratched and glue stuck on them. Decided I would still try one on to see if the reviews were right and boot fit small. They were correct they need to be one full size up and this is because of a design flaw. The heel of the boot is set back, do to the higher heel. So your foot sits forward. Any way looks great on the models not so great in real life. I am returning these boots. September 17, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by WET FEET!! My teenage daughter & I LOVE the way these Slimpac tall riding boots look and fit. However, I have had to send 2 of the 3 pairs I have purchased back because of cracks in the rubber right above and beside the toes in both boots of all pairs. It took about 10 months to get the 1st replacement pair and I am still waiting on the 2nd (since 11/14). The 3rd pair of boots also have cracks in the same spot but at this point I don't want them to have 2 pairs of boots with no prospect of getting them replaced. The 1 pair or replacement boots we did get now are starting to get the exact same cracks. We love these boots! They are not too hot to wear in Alabama and they look and fit great while they last. Our experience is thst it takes about 3 months of moderate wear (to school and around town) for the boots to develop cracks that actually let water in. You can still wear them (and we do) with the cracks but just be prepared for wet feet if water comes anywhere near the side of your big toe. September 12, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Excess fabric around the ankle I have friends that have these boots and LOVED them from the moment I saw them. As soon as they were delivered I tried them on. At first glance I was in love, I did a double take there is so much room around the ankles it is unflattering. It just looks funny. I will be returning them unfortunately, the picture doesn't reflect the large ankle it actually has. Or maybe this is a different style than last year. September 11, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not waterproof Rubber cracked after 1 year. Couldn't return after 1 year. Looked nice, but definitely not worth the money. Very disappointed. September 10, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Only 2 winters I found these boots in gray and fell in love with them. I wore them for 2 winters. They were warm, they were comfortable, I received nice complements on them. Then they developed a slit on the top of my foot area. One slit on each foot. Water began to seep in. I was sad. I wanted these boots to last a long time since I paid a lot of money for them. I phoned and was told that a warranty was on them but only for one year. Lots of money for a boot that only lasted me two winters. September 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME These are by far one of the best looking boots on the market today. You want be disappointed just make sure you get a larger size than normally :-)> August 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by TOTALLY IN LOVE I have these boots in the "shale" color and they are the greatest boots of my life! They are comfy, durable, CUTE, and so cozy. They look good with leggings, dresses, jeans, and pretty much everything I have tried them with so far. I would highly recommend these boots! Totally worth the investment. August 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Different color in person, compared online Love the boots! The only complaint I have is the color. I purchased them in the nori color. On the website, the nori looks like a taupe-grey. In person, they are very green. The color is cool, but not as expected. August 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite boots Love, love, love these boots. They are very well made and definitely worth every penny. They fit slightly small I am usually an 8.5 I ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly!! Love the color and they look great with jeans and leggings!! Recommend these 100%!! July 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful Boot Wore these boots out in the cold weather - they keep my feet warm, but not as warm as lets say Ugg's would. The leather is beautiful , and received lots of compliments. Need to wear them with tighter pants, rather than jeans, because bottom of jeans may cause pressure points on ankles if not folded right. Oh, and the reason for not giving 5 stars, I believe you would need tall lower legs for these boots, because they would be too long, cut behind knee if calves were too short. mind the measurements before buying! I'm 5'9", so these worked for me, FYI June 29, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great Looking, Cheaply Made These boots look fantastic, and are comfortable. However, the heel is made of plastic, with a very thin rubber coating. So, after wearing through the rubber in about 4 weeks, the shoes become lethal if anything is remotely slippery. Inclement weather shoes should have inclement weather bottoms. These absolutely do not. It was an unneccessary construction decision that make these a poor choice for an everyday winter shoe. March 5, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Boot shaft too small for athletic calves! Ladies, if you have a calf muscle over 15", these WILL NOT work for you. It seems that these boots were made for skinny legs. I work out, surf, etc. and there is no way I could make these work for my calves. The quality seems to be great and the boots are absolutely beautiful, but I am returning due to the shaft being too small. I did go up a half size from reading other review. I squeezed my leg into and the foot bed feels okay. Definitely need to size up, but I'll continue the search for a comparable boot with a wider shaft. February 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I LOVE these boots It was nearly impossible to find the Shale color in my size (8), but I was patient and finally found a pair. I'm so glad I did! They have been great throughout this brutal Ohio winter. And I get a lot of compliments on them! I rated them as Fits Slightly Small, because as others have mentioned, they're a little tough to get your feet into it. Tough might not even be the right word.... they just take more effort than most boots do. I can't just slip my feet in, I have to pull them on and sometimes work the foot a bit. For sizing, I normally wear a 7.5 in shoes, 8 in boots, and the 8 fits fine with these, even with thicker socks on. February 10, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Beautiful looking boots I love the look of these boots however, the craftmanship is lacking. The right boot fit wonderfully however, the left boot was almost impossible to get on. It's almost like the left boot had the upper leather for a smaller size. I did evetually get it on however, it rubs my ankle but I am hoping that it stretches. I wish the left boot fit like the right. February 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE them!! I'm so pleased with these boots but they run very small. I had to go a whole size up (am normally a 7.5, purchased the 8.5 at the NYC store) and they are perfect! Not to mention stylish - I'm so sick of my Hunter rain boots. They look fabulous and feel comfortable! January 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just buy them already.... I second this remark I found in one the of dozens of reviews I read before I purchased my pair of slimpack riding boots. First off, they're gorgeous (I bought Nutmeg), which is the most difficult trait to marry with a true functional "work" boot. I live in Maine and these boots are perfect to wear from outdoors to in during fall/winter, w/o looking and feeling like you have a small animal strapped to your foot. Point two, they're well crafted. In my experience, Sorel is synonymous with quality. We got over 25" of snow the other day, I wore these out and about the following day and they kept me dry and warm, great construction. Bringing me to.. Point three, they're actually functional. They repel water, the treads are good on the snow and ice, and the micofleece lining is warm but not too warm. Point four, they're comfortable, super duper comfortable. I never want to take them off, and I have worn them for full 8 hour work days (where I'm constantly on my feet) and then some. Point five, they fit well. I didn't experience any difficulties with sizing the way others did, I usually wear a 7, a 7.5 in some brands, and sized on the larger end knowing I'd want to wear thicker socks at times. I usually wear normal "trouser socks" comfortably w/o my foot sliding around, and I have no trouble taking mine on or off (though w/ any boot you'll have an easier time sitting down to strip em off). Five stars, all the way. I want these in every color they'll ever make. January 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT BOOT but, casual wear rather than workwear I have worn this boot for 12 hours at a time. Very comfortable with medium to heavy boot socks. I ordered a half size larger than my regular boot size. The leather upper is super quality and very soft -- easy to break in. The rubber foot is a little thinner rubber than I expected, so probably better suited to street wear than working around or riding horses. Also, not a cold weather boot -- cool/damp weather is perfect. January 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth the wait I am SO glad I gave in and bought these boots! Wore them for 8 hours the first day out of the box, and they were both a perfect fit and surprisingly warm. Pay attention to the reviewers...they really do run about a half size small, so I had to exchange my size 6.5 for a 7. I have smallish calves, so these are perfect for me, and the height of the 7 is not too tall for my 5'1" frame. Bought the shale color, and I really LIKE the distressed appearance of the leather...they look like I've owned them for years, which I prefer! I probably won't wear them in heavy snow/ice conditions, but otherwise they will be my go-to fall and winter boots. January 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by These boots are so comfortable and stylish! i have been looking at these boots for a while now. I've read every review! I'm an 8 1/2. I already have a pair of kate the great sorels. Those ran big so I purchased a size 8. They fit perfect!! So I see why people say they run small for sorels but I find that they run true to size. I went with my true size 8 1/2. They fit perfect!!! I have regular size calves and they fit great!! Yes you do have to pull on them a bit to get them on but once they are on they fit like a glove! Like they should. If you do have big calves these boots are not for you. They are great in the snow, and rain in New York. I love them because they are so stylish and very practical!! I would definitely recommend these boots!! January 22, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Beautiful boot, construction uncomfortable Love Sorel products, love the look of this boot, but the fit was very uncomfortable. Disappointed in the lining construction. The seam where the leather and rubber boot meet can be felt from the inside. The extra lining created by the seam (on the inside) tends to move forward when putting the boot on and does not flip back for a comfortable fit. After several test runs, the same issue. Disappointed that I had to return these beauts. January 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Winter Boot This is a great boot and I was really perplexed on what size to order as there were so many reviews claiming that they were too small and hard to pull on. I trusted the reviewer who said that if you have a narrow foot and a slim calf that they would not fit small and I am glad I did, as they fit great in the size 7 and I am normally a 7 1/2 and I did not have any trouble pulling them on and off. January 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by FABulous boots!!!! Beautiful boots!!!...even better in person than online. My Sorel boot purchase was well worth the money...tons of complements too. The best complement came from my daughter-who asked to borrow them...WoW...she is 17 and has great style!! January 18, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by So disappointed.. I got these boots a little bit over a year ago after months of trying to fight the urge. I was so excited when I got them and I wore them as much as I could during winter. Unfortunately, this winter season I have been coming home with wet, cold feet every time I wear them and I don't know what happened. When I bought these boots, I thought they were a great investment, but now I think that's a lot of money for boots that lasted me one season. The boots are gorgeous, but they wore out too fast. So sad. January 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Style The "look" of the boot is what appealed most to me, although how it performs in the cold/snow was important. I typically wear an 8.5-9 and a size 9 was a perfect fit and very comfortable for my feet. The boot is a bit difficult to pull on and off and the material is slightly stiff around the ankle. I would recommend this boot. January 17, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cute but Not that Comfortable I usually find Sorel boots to be very comfortable, but these are lacking. Although they have more support than my Frye boots, they are still somehow less comfortable. I also found the sizing to be way off. I usually wear a 6.5-7, so I ordered these in a 7.5. They fit fine when I tried them with thin socks, but are too small with anything even moderately thick. I would consider going up to an 8, but I don't want to bother with the return process (as an aside, it's pretty frustrating that a company with such off-base sizing doesn't at least offer free exchanges). The fleece lining is also very thin. Overall, I like the look of the boot and think they'll serve their purpose, but I still found them a bit disappointing. January 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE THESE BOOTS I am a dog trainer and work inside and outside. These boots are fabulous! I can wear them out in the mud and rain as well as dress them up when I teach or go to a clients home. EVERYTIME I wear them, I get compliments. They are so warm and comfy. Like wearing slippers! I went a half size up and that was perfect! HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYING NOW! January 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by New Favorites!! I LOVE these boots! I own several pairs of must have boots-- Fryes, Ariats, Uggs, etc-- but these are my new favorites! I got them for Christmas and haven't taken them off since! I will say that if you have a high arch (like me, super high) then the whole getting on/taking off process will leave you sweating and out of breath. BUT- once on, these are some of the most comfortable boots I've ever worn!! They felt like they were going to be way too small when trying to put them on for the first time (I almost cried) but I was surprised and pleased with the fit! Thank god for the little handles at the top or else lord knows how these things would ever slide on! Don't worry, everyday they become easier and easier to pull on/remove. I normally wear a 7.5 in boots and these fit me true to size. Also, thick socks are not needed (nor would they fit) for these boots! They are SUPER warm... For North Carolina weather anyway! If you're on the fence, definitely get them... You'll love them I promise!! January 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by In love with these boots. Coming from someone who owns every brand of boot from Hunter to Minnetonka to Tory Burch to Uggs these are my absolute favorite! I rarely if ever rave about a shoe or any product like I have about these. They are warm, versatile, stylish and unique. I've never seen any other boot like these and I love that about them! If you're looking for a new winter, rain, riding or fashion boot these fit all of those needs! January 8, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cute but impractical I got these to walk to work in the winter--I live in Minneapolis and I usually walk a few blocks outside and then jump into the skyway. These are so cute and stylish but super hard to put on and take off. I have to use a boot jack. And it is not because my calves are abnormally large--the boots fit nicely once on. It is just super hard getting them on and even harder getting them off. That said, they are not the greatest for me because I only wear them for a short time. If you are using them more for being outside or wearing them for fashion, definitely worth it. Just make sure you have someone around to help get them off! January 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Runs Small - Painful Return - Awesome Boots Boots are awesome. My complaint is that I had to buy a full size up to get the right fit and the return process is a bit of a pain (and expensive). Boots are fantastic though. January 5, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Defective or not as advertised I bought these stunning boots to wear while on vacation on the pacific coast. I thought they would be perfect as a stylish, yet functional option for a variety of outdoor activities. There were boots I liked as well, or slightly more, but they were not waterproof, so I chose these. The first beach walk resulted in soaked feet and discomfort because of it. The entire vacation, I was limited in which routes to take while walking in the woods, around town, or,on the beach. I am not sure if my pair is defective or if these boots are falsely categorized. They are not hearty rainwear for the price. December 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cute, functional boots I love these boots. They are comfortable enough to wear all day. In other shoe brands I normally wear a 7.5, but in Sorel I wear a 7. However, in these I ended up buying my normal shoe size of 7.5 because they were a little small on my feet in the 7. I also wanted to be able to wear thick socks with them. December 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by as great as i thought they'd be I've wanted these boots for a long time. They were a christmas present, and I love them. I'm a michigan girl and they are great for our current weather. wore them to an outside fire last night and they kept my feet cozy and warm. Would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a stylish boot that can also get wet on those rainy/snowy days. December 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect boots for New England Realtor I'm a Realtor in NH. I really needed a cute boot to wear when I have to show properties in snow, rain and mud. I have warm Uggs but those are not professional looking at all, and you can't wear hem during a cold rain. As soon as I saw these I fell in love!! It took 2 months for me to finally decide to order them and I'm so glad I did! I searched everywhere for a less expensive, cute warm boot, but had no luck finding any cute all weather boots. These boots are fabulous!!! They look so cute with skinny jeans or leggings. I wear a sz 8 sneaker, but ordered these in a 9. They fit a little big, but not big enough to go down a size. I like a little toe wiggle room in my boots. Your feet will totally get cold in tighter boots. I have been wearing them everyday in 20 degree weather, through snow banks and around town for work and play. The first day they rubbed the back of my ankle but they quickly broke in. I find them to be comfortable and fairly warm. If it's any colder out, or if I'll be outside for long periods I will wear a thick sock and I'm confident my feet will be warm. I also had no trouble getting them on the first time. A little tight,ya, but not a struggle. So happy to have found these!! It was a long search to find a cute, warm, all weather boot! The price almost scared me away, but it was worth every penny December 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by love love Love these boots. They do run a half size small. I have ALWAYS worn a size 8 and just could not get my foot in them. Went up to 8.5 and perfecto!! Also seem to be very warm. Will wear heavier sock when super cold. December 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Slim pack riding boot Love the look of these boots, unfortunately, the size is at least a full size too big. I will need to size down and reorder......I wish the website was able to give better sizing feedback. I wear 9 to 9.5 in most brands, so going from the website 's recommendation that this style runs small, I went with the larger part of my size spectrum. In reality.....I can probably take an 8 in these. I was able to try on a pair of short boots by sorel that says "true to size" and the size 8 fit!! And I feel it was a slimmer fitting boot than the one's I got, so to me the exact opposite seems to be true in my experience. December 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by JoJoMc Fabulous boots! Absolutely love them! They look great while keeping my feet warm & dry. Have gotten lots of compliments every time I've worn them. So glad I treated myself to these as an early Christmas present! December 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Just try them! I went round and round when ordering these boots and never had I read so many reviews! My daughters thought I was insane as I debated over and over my size selection. Ultimately I went with my true size 9 (wide) and although I have to really tug to get them on they are roomy enough for medium wool socks and totally comfortable! I wore them the first day for a long walk on the beach of Lake Michigan. Mind you it's December with wind, water, snow and muck! My feet stayed dry and warm. My only concern may be around the ankles as the leather can bunch up and rub a bit but I'm hoping as it stretches this won't be a problem. December 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this boot! I went a half size larger than I wear in a shoe, so that my toes had a little wiggle room. At 1st they were a little hard to get on, but after stretching out the skins a little from wearing them, they're much easier now. I wear these boots with every outfit, even in colder weather (I live in Vermont) my feet stay warm and dry.. very stylish, and I get compliments ALL the time on them. It's my favorite boot I've ever had. Well worth the $$! December 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite boot, EVER! I love this boot. I've gotten so many compliments on these boots. They are very comfortable and I wear them year round. They are casual but have a very sophisticated, sexy look. I have them in Shale and will be getting them in brown when I replenish my shoe fund! December 1, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Impossible to get on/off I absolutely LOVE these boots. My two friends have them as well and they both look so trendy and fab wearing them. So I thought I would give it a shot. I am a true 8, but I ordered an 8 and an 8.5 to compare sizing and also because some reviews stated to go up. I first tried on the 8 and I literally could not get them on. I pushed and pulled and it was getting to the point where I was actually sweating. I even tried with a thin nylon sock with the hopes that would make it easier. So then I tried the 8.5. Still a struggle, but finally able to get my foot in. The problem is getting your heel in, there is plenty of room for your leg. The 8.5's were clearly huge once they were on. You could tell there was way too much toe room when I walked. Then I couldn't get them off! My dad had to pull them off for me. If I had been able to actually get my foot in the 8's, I think they would have fit perfectly. I returned them back to UPS the same day I got them and they charged me $42!!! I sent the boots back in the actual shipping box they came in. The UPS lady said that I had no choice due to the size of the shoe boxes. Sorel does not provide pre-paid return labels. Which would be nice since buying footwear online is tricky. November 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boots - read many reviews before buying I read at least 10 reviews which led me to purchase these in a size 7.5. I always wear a 7 in heels. I have Sorelia Earharts and Cate the Greats in size 7s. They both fit beautifully. When I received the 7.5 Slimpacks, I thought they were a 5.5s. I could not get them on. I tried the grocery bag trick. It worked, but I refuse to own a pair of nice boots that require a grocery bag to get on. I wondered why these beautiful boots lack a zipper. Following TISL's review, I re-ordered in a size 8.5, worried about going to a 9. I usually buy boots in a size 8 other Sorels excepted, for heavy socks. These fit beautifully. They are easy to take on and off. For future Sorel purchases, because there is not free return shipping, I will try to purchase from a retailer like Nordstrom. In the meantime, because everyone online seems to be sold out of my size, I gotta get these in the other color. Ordering them today! Note: I did notice from each pair and even each boot in a pair that the placement and arc of the leather stitching to the rubber along the top of the foot is highly inconsistent, which to me explains why everyone's experience of the same size is so varied. One of mine has a rounded arc on the top of the foot and the other is squared with rounded edges. The rounded arc is much more comfortable and easier to take on and off. The squared top stitching is a little snug on my high arch, but should stretch as it is not severely snug. That being said, when reviewers say order a half size larger, order a half size larger than your boot size and hope for the best. November 27, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by High-quality Boot! Boots are top-notch in terms of quality. Other reviewers suggested to order a size up, however, I didn't feel a need to. I'm a true 9 with narrow feet and the 9 fit perfectly. They do require break in, however. You may find them hard to pull on the first few times, but once you're in, you're golden! Ordered the shale and they go with essentially everything! November 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Slimpack Riding Boot So comfortable and gorgeous ! November 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boot I've EVER OWNED After 2 years of consistent use throughout the fall/winter/spring seasons, these boots are still warm, dry, and look fantastic! I want more colors, as I have camel colored and they are starting to appear slightly worn, rustic. When new, i could dress them up or down, country or city, prefect for my versatile wardrobe! Perfect for walking the dogs on long snowy hikes as well as city business lunches and holiday gatherings! BEST BOOT EVER, people ALWAYS ask me about them EVERY time I wear them out. :) November 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Transitional boot These are true to size for me. Im usually a 9.5 but got 9. There is plenty of room for x thick socks. These are classic and i can see wearing these with leggins and flannels or jeans and a sweater. I love them!! My first pair of sorels and im so glad i went with the tall ones. Im 5'10 and they are an inch from my knee and look proportional to my long legs. Happy warm stylish! November 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Glad I bought this boot I debated a whole year about buying these boots. I read the reviews and went back and forth. I'm glad I finally made the decision to purchase them. Yes, they are a little hard to get on at first, I put them on barefoot for the first couple of times and after that had no problem with socks. I ordered a half size up, thinking that I would want to wear thicker socks with these boots, but they are so warm and comfortable that so far thicker socks aren't needed. They are tall and that took a little getting used to. I've had lots of compliments on them and people ask what kind they are and where I got them, so of course I give Sorel a great recommendation. I love these boots and as much as I hate to admit it, I kind of hope the winter weather sticks around for a while so I can get my use out of them. November 19, 2014
