How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed One of the snaps on my pair tore off. Sent to Sorel to fix or replace. They can't fix them, but gave me credit. This boot is not available and I'm disappointed that a simple piece can't be fixed nor replaced and that there is no explanation as to when the boot will be available. I had to pay for shipping to get the boots to them and didn't even get reimbursed for shipping. May 12, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by So disappointed!!!! I love the look of these boots but they have completely fallen apart after about 3 wears. The fur is all matted down around the top, the rubber logo on both heels is peeling off, they look absolutely terrible. I'm so disappointed and will be contacting customer service. I didn't pay $200 to have them look this awful after only wearing them a couple of times. April 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love them from Michigan I have wanted these boots for a while. When they came on sale I could not resist any longer and bought them, I am very happy I did. They fit great and look great on me. I can go a long period of time with them on without any discomfort. I highly recommend them. March 25, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Service Boot ran very small (full size) & Sorel didn't charge shipping for replacement boots. Also told me to return small ones to Columbia. Excellent service March 20, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Finally found my boot! Afters years of searching I have finally found my boot! I live in Michigan and often do a lot of work outside in the winter for my job so having boots that can stand up to the cold is a must. I have wide feet and wide calves. This boot finally filled all those requirements! I always get compliments even with a wide calve and a 10.5 foot they look great! Unfortunately, they fall a little short in function. They don't keep my feet as warm as I would like, and I find that they leak a little in the back. Also I have to wear leg warmers to stop it from rubbing on the back of my foot as well. Lastly one of the snaps broke. So overall I gave it a 4 star rating just because it is so hard to find wide calve boot with wide width, that looks so good. February 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Invaluable Quality!!!!! After admiring this boot for past several months decided to purchase it because my old leather boots was 7 1/2 W. That was in 94, now my feet grew to 8 1/2 W now that I am older late 40s. After reading many reviews (all 812 of them) and Sorel measurement chart decided to adhere to the rules. In doing so, realize my foot is 8 1/2 B/C in women's without heavy sock and a 9 with sock. Since I am flat footed with inherited bone problems decided to go up in size to the 9. I am so glad for the great reviewers (male and female) because it has helped me incredibly. This is my first purchase and am immensely pleased with the comfort, roomy toe box and cushiony foot sole. Thanks to Sorel Staff, workers and their fan base, my feet are happy. I am humbly grateful for your time and efforts for providing people like me with invaluable information, it's greatly appreciated. February 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm and Stylish! I borrowed this pair in a different color from my roommate when I went to Colorado for Thanksgiving, and loved them so much that I had to get a pair of my own! They fit me true to size, are warm and definitely waterproof! So excited to own these long-lasting boots. February 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cozy, Warm, & Cute! I live in Nebraska and wanted a snow boot that would be functional and keep my feet warm while living in an apartment with a dog that I constantly have to walk. These boots sure do the trick! Zero complaints! I'm a size 9 narrow in regular shoes, 8.5 in heels and was worried that a 9 may be too big based on the other reviews I read but I took a chance and ordered the 9 and they fit perfectly. I wear them out a lot to the store or on errands when it's snowy and so many women have stopped me and complimented me on the boots. I can also trek through deep snow and ice with my dog and my feet haven't been cold once and the tread on the bottom has saved me from a fall or two! GREAT boots for the price. February 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by boots live up to their reputation finally got some appreciable snow and got to truly test the boots that live up to the product claims usually wear 7 and ordered 6and a half a roomy with knee socks..got your slippers for xmas present super warm great fit true to size..quality products..looked on your site for gloves i'd buy them if you sold them. Rated 3 out of 5 by There ok:-/ The buttons on the sides crumbled like just broke to pieces I need to have them repaired. February 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Boots I Ever Owned These boots are stylish, comfortable, warm, and water proof. I get compliments all the time! I did order a half size smaller based on some other reviews and I'm glad I did. My true size would have been a bit too big. February 4, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love my new boots The boots fit true to size. They were nice to walk around in for a week in Aspen. Would like to have a bit more padding in the insoles. January 31, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Women's Joan of Arti Boots Purchased these for my 24 year old granddaughter for Christmas and she loves them! We live in Illinois where the winters can be cold and snowy so waterproof, stylish and warmth are very important to us and this boot has it all. They are true to size. January 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Black Dye on Black Suede? These boots are fabulous to look at, wear, and I absolutely love them. BUT, I tried on several pairs before choosing, because 1.) going a size up, as some have suggested, meant they were way to wide in the foot, and 2.) some size 8s were more comfortable than others. There was some ankle/heel rubbing - for me in was on the outer/back above my ankle. But after trying a few different pairs, I was able to get two which didn't rub at all - which was great! *The only downside I have noticed is that the black dye gets all over my fingers when tightening the laces, and I hope others might have a suggestion? I have a long pale gray colored coat which I don't want the boots to stain. January 27, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love Sorel... I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but I really was attached to my first pair of Sorel boots I have had for 25 years, and my son now adopted them. They are on their second liner, but otherwise have nothing to show their age. I figured I would treat myself to a more "girly" version so my sons wouldn't wear them, so opted for the Joan of Arctic. First- sizing, some said true to size, some said up or down. I decided on 10.5, I usually wear a 10. These are a little big, but we just got a storm, and I need them! The toe area seems a lot wider than the original caribou, and they are definitely a "clunky" boot, really for the weather, even though they are cute. Second- Traction The one thing I don't understand is why the bottom does not have the traction the caribou has- they are designed to be a rugged boot, but lack the rugged bottom! If I knew this, I would have went back to the original model I had, for these boots are made for extreme weather and snow, the lack of good traction really ruins the rating of this boot for me. Third- warmth. These are extremely warm, I would not buy a bigger size to wear thick socks, I only ever wear one good sock with these, and my feet stay toasty and dry. Overal, a nice looking boot, warm, but a bit clunky, and size maybe 1/2 down from normal size. The bottom could be more rugged....looking for these to last another 25 years!!!! January 26, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by I do not recommend purchasing this boot! I wore this boot three times before one of the rivets popped! (No, I did not use the pull tabs to take them on and off.) I am extremely disappointed in the quality, I've had Sorel boots before, and came back to them, after trying a competitor. Since I need them for work, (we had a blizzard on Saturday,) my only option is to return them to the store I purchased them from, and they will replace them. I will not exchange them for another pair! January 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by LUV my boots!!! I have been wanting these boots for over a year.. I was TOO slow last year and missed out! They are SUPER comfortable and very warm. Wore them to A VERY cold Broncos game a couple weeks ago and my feet were warm! Had TONS of compliments on them as well! Super cute! January 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stylish and functional My Daughter absolutely loves these boot and got lots of compliments at school. The styling is eye popping and they keep her feet warm and dry. Of coarse she is most concerned with how they look, and I was insistent that she get something that is functional to keep her warm and dry. It's wet with slush and melting snow and deep snow here on occasion. These boots are awesome! January 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Winter Boots! I love these! These boots are warm and comfortable. I wore these during a snowstorm and my feet remained dry, cozy and warm. They were also lighter than I expected them to be. Great investment in winter gear! My only con would be that they can be a little difficult to remove but small con for the comfort of my feet! January 24, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by great warm ish boot Am a size 9, bought a 9 1/2 and wear this with thick, warm wool socks in the winter. These are real wide on the bottom so beware. Other than that i am mildly disappointed in the craftsmanship - there seems to be no binding between the leather and rubber part. Other than that, great boot, keeps you warm, just wish it was made with a little more care. January 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Snow Boot The first snow storm of the season to hit the East Coast and I was prepared with my brand new boots. They seem to be perfect in every way to deal with our blizzard: waterproof, warm, shaft height and comfort. Although I usually prefer zippers on boots to laces, these laces are very quick to tighten and tie and, as an added bonus, make the fit custom to your leg. January 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love my boots!! This is the first time I have purchased Sorel boots. I love these boots and I'm very impressed with these boots. I do wear socks to make sure my feet stay warm. In the snow my feet have stayed warm and don't get wet. January 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by She loves them ! Sorel is Quality ! I have had my caribou's for over thirteen years. And they are still good work boot . January 22, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cuts on my heels I just got my boots in the mail last week and I was so excited. I wore them out in the snow walking to my car (about a 20min walk) and halfway there I felt my left heel start to get sore. I had to stop several times to figure out what was causing the pain. I even took my boot off on the sidewalk in the snow. I ended up getting a huge cut on the back of my left heel after that walk. I wore the boots a few days later thinking if i wore thick socks it wouldn't hurt my heels. I was wrong. This time I got a cut on the back of my right heel too. My solution was to add rubber heel protectors inside the boot where it seemed to be cutting me. I have not wore them again yet as I am waiting for my cuts to heal. With that being said, I love the way the boots look and they are very warm. However, to pay $170 for winter boots I should not have any issues with the boots cutting me. I am hoping my solution helps. Otherwise I feel like I wasted my money. January 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE THEM!!! These boots are AWESOME!! I was hesitant on spending the money, but so glad I did! These boots are worth EVERY penny!! I usually am a 7 1/2 or an 8 in boots and I got the 8. They fit great and the Tobacco Brown is gorgeous! :) Thanks Sorel!! January 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Joan of Arctic boots I love my new Joan of Arctic boots. They fit true to size. They are so warm and are very comfortable. January 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable and Stylish I don't usually write reviews, but I got these boots in the Shale color and they are fabulous! They fit true to size for me, but I generally get my size in any boot/shoe. They are comfortable enough to wear all day, and they keep my feet warm in the snow. January 17, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Fashion over function I had been wanting these boots for a while because they look so cute. This year, it was finally time to replace my very warm 8-year old snow boots. I ordered the Joan of Arc boots in black and was VERY excited with the look and fit. But, the good news ends there. I could spend hours outside in my old boots (which I paid significantly less for) and my feet would not get cold. In the Joan of Arc boots, my toes were painfully cold after 20 minutes the first time I wore them. If you want something stylish and waterproof to get to and from work, these would be great. But if you have to spend any amount of time outside you will be very disappointed. They are NOT warm. I wish I could return them, but sadly it took me wearing them outside to learn that these are fashion boots, not snow boots. Lesson learned the hard way. January 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gift for my wife Fit was very true. The boots looked awesome and she loved them. After wearing them she says they are very comfortable and very warm for casual wear in very cold temps (Northern, MN). January 16, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Joan of Arc These boot's are true to size but very snug trying to put them on even when you loosen the laces January 15, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hurt! Maybe these boots are not created equally. My sister has these and loves them. I ended up with bloody heels (area just above ankles on back of leg) after wearing these around house for 40 min. With heavy socks. They are cool looking boots so very disappointed, especially because I don't have an alternative plan and need snow boots (I'm fairly picky). Too bad. January 14, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Unsure The left boot fit my foot very differently than the right. I've worn 4-5 times and the left boot kills right at the ankle. I've tried thick socks, etc I have loved these in the past?? January 14, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Super Warm Perfect for Chicago winters, so warm and great in the snow. Not the most slimming, definitely a little bulky but still a great buy. January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing and Stylish! I got these boots in the Shale color for Christmas and they are everything I hoped for! As a college student at a large university in Pennsylvania, I do a lot of walking on campus in snow and ice. I was able to wear them for the first time today! They are incredibly warm and have good soles on them. The color is so cute and I feel like they are some of the cutest snow boots you can buy. Go great with jeans or leggings and look simply adorable with a puffy coat! They don't rub my feet and I've walked over a mile in them so far. I have wide feet and they aren't narrow, just perfect! I have a feeling they will last for years to come, definitely worth every penny! I usually wear an 8.5 and ordered an 8.5. The fit is great with thick socks. January 13, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Boot too big This is a very well made heavy snow boot. I'm usually a size 8.5 so I ordered that size by mail. It was so big on me. I returned the boot by mail and ordered an 8. It was still big but I kept it because I didn't want to pay for shipping return AGAIN. January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great winter boot I love my boots. They run a little small (in comparison with the my measurement in centimeters, had to go up a full size). They are less clunky than the original sorel boots. A little less warm, but I just double up socks and it is like heaven. I wear them for barn work in CO and love them. I have worn them in really cold temps and they have been great. Only (small) issue is that there isn't great tread, but again, it does well enough. January 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by 10/10 I Love them!!! I bought Sorels because my parents have had their boots for over 25 years and are still in good condition. (even living in a very snowy place and getting a lot of use) Granted they dont have the Joan of Arctic ones I bought, but its a brand I trust, and I really love my pair. My feet are a US woman's size 9 but I bought a size 9.5 because I wear really thick socks in the winter. Because of that they fit perfect for me, even without thick socks they are still comfortable. I would recommend when breaking them in you wear socks that complacently cover your heal. I made the mistake of trying to break them in wearing ankle socks and had small blisters, but after they were broken in I have worn ankle socks and have had no issue with them causing blisters sense. I have gone snow shoeing and they fit my snow shoes perfectly and kept my feet warm. I absolutely love them! They look cute, really warm, and great for snow. January 11, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very Disappointed I bought these boots and was super excited. I live in Michigan and our winters can get brutal. I got these boots at a gift for my birthday in September and this winter we have been blessed with mild temperatures. Today was the first real snowfall in which I was able to wear these boots. The first time I wear them, the rivet breaks off! I could not believe that this would happen to a boot that everyone raved about he quality. I am hoping I can get it fixed because I am very bummed out about it. On the plus side, I did love everything about these boots..and they kept my feet very dry and warm today. They are a little difficult to get on and off though..the boot liner always wants to come out with it. January 10, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good boot, but not great These are really good boots, but in my experience, there are some inherent flaws in the design and material that make them less than perfect. I purchased these for the main purpose of walking my dog in Chicago winters, which can be brutal. What I love about them - they are very warm, waterproof, and stylish. However, the cons - they do NOT have good traction and more than once I've slipped on a slick sidewalk. I'm no expert on boot tread, but I feel like Sorel sort of gave up on this part of the design and there are other boots on the market that are more reliable and safer for winter walking! Secondly, the boot is very stiff and it is extremely difficult to the point of painful to take on and off. I have very narrow feet so I would imagine it would be even harder for someone with average - wide feet. Lastly, while the boot is true to size, they must be worn with multiple pairs of socks, otherwise, they rub my heels until they are raw and bloody. Despite the cons, I plan on keeping these boots. I can deal with wearing multiple pairs of socks and will do my best to avoid icy sidewalks for now. January 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by amazing boots I bought these boots very early on in the season so that I had a choice in color and size. I read other reviews that said that they ran a little big- so I ordered a 6.5, and I normally wear a 7-7.5. They're perfect! They keep my feet super warm and it's very nice that they are actually waterproof. These are definitely a step up from the ugg boots- which I have ruined a few pairs because they aren't waterproof. They're perfect for midwest winters and snow- and it helps that they're pretty too! January 9, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lack of suppoet After wearing the shoe for a half hour my feet began to hurt, fur to the lack of arch support. January 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Waiting for snow!! It needs to snow in Philly so I can finally wear these - I've been waiting 2 months and I'm losing my patience!! These boots are awesome: they look cute, they're really warm and comfortable, and I know they'll last for years because the quality of Sorel snowboots is great (I have a pair of Caribous from 1992 and they're still good - just need a new lining). Buy them while you can, already sold out in some sizes/colours - I'd have been peeved if I'd had to settle for a lesser snowboot. Bought these a half size larger than my normal shoes so I can wear them with woolly hiking socks if/when it finally snows here. January 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots I got these boots because I find myself commuting through the elements of winter to the train in the city. It can be hard because a lot of other winter boots aren't weatherproof and they get destroyed in puddles on slushy days. My last boots were rain boots that I got fleece inserts for, but while they provided protection against water, they just weren't warm enough in 10F degree weather. Now that I have my Sorels I am very happy with how warm they keep my feet, even in thin tights! They are very comfortable, but do run a bit on the small side. I am usually a size 8.5 and I had to order a size 9, which fits good around my foot when I'm wearing thick socks. January 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by the best I have had these Sorel boots for years. They are totally warm and comfortable because I live in the Chicago area and have to take my dog on long walks. They are great for my feet and easily keep me toasty warm. Plus they look awesome. I have trouble with my feet, including plantar fasciatis and I never have any trouble with these great boots. I would never buy any others. January 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Order Your Exact Size! After reading some reviews which told me to order up a half size, I did and wish I hadn't! The half size bigger was just that and although I can wear a thick sock with the boot which helps, it's just a little too roomy. I wish I had ordered my actual size! Otherwise, pretty great boot! January 3, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Quality ...Take a Pass i purchased these boots a couple years ago. i have only worn them a handful of times but they split up the back along the seam. Given the limited warranty (1 year), i could not return them. Other than the big tear in the back, the boots look brand new. For as much as these boots cost i expected better! These were my first pair of Sorels and they will likely be my last. January 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Boot I've been looking for a great winter boot that I can wear to and from work, as well as while shovelling my driveway. This was the best shoe investment I have ever made. These boots keep my feet dry and super warm. I don't feel ANY of the cold from the ground, even when I'm outside for prolonged periods of time. I highly recommend them, they are worth every penny. Reading some of the other reviews, I was a bit worried about the size, but I got the size I normally wear, and I have to admit that the length of the boot is very true to size. I don't have a whole lot of room at the front of the toe box, but I'm still able to wear a thick pair of socks with the boots and not have any pinching or squeezing. They are pretty wide, which I was expecting, so I have no issues there. Overall, great product, made really well, and they do keep you warm and dry! January 2, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed I thought these looked so cute but am disappointed with actual look. The foot part is huge and clunky, which leads to a more work like look instead of fashionable. I read the reviews and ordered a 1/2size up but probably shouldn't have. I wish I had returned for my true size. They are difficult to get on and off as well. I probably walked too much the first time I wore them and they rubbed my Achilles heel so bad I have huge scabs. They are warm but I wish I hadn't bought them :( January 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love my Sorels My son bought these boots for me as a Christmas present and I love the boots as well as the color. (These are my second pair of Joan of Artic boots) just have to say that I have never had a problem with the fit, and they have enough room to wear heavy socks so your feet stay toasty warm!! December 31, 2015
