How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sorel Women's Caribou Love the boots! Very warm and really the only complaint is they're heavy. But I do love them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm boots I am a school crossing guard in NYC,, so I need a warm boot sorel boots always do the job. I always go a size up because space in the boot is important , if the boot is tight you get cold.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from product put together poorly For the price the product is very ruff inside, the part between the upper & lower shell, also the coating that covers the treads on the inside of the boot ( I'm thinking water proofing ) the end of the threads where left sticking out which is now cutting into the liner and into my wife's leg. I had to cut & file down the thread ends & re coat. would not recommend until these details are fix other wise the boot seems sturdy ( only time will will tell

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just in time! I got these just in time for our 5th snow of the year totaling 13"! I wore them an entire day to work and other than the lack of 'bendability' *duh, they are snow boots* they kept my feet dry and extremely warm. I wanted quality and these boots are worth every penny, as I doubt i'll need another pair of snow boots for at least 10 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toasty feet, needs some breaking-in. I have a hard time deciding whether these are too large or too small. Why? Because I couldn't get my feet into the wool socks for about 20 minutes the first time I put these on. I was afraid I'd have to return them, but I'm glad I had patience. Once they're on my feet, there's so much wiggle room. I have them broken-in now and they're great (takes about a minute to get them on). I still can't tuck my jeans into the liner, so I have to wear them with leggings. Despite the wiggle room, my feet stay totally warm and dry. I believe these are made to last. I normally wear an 8.5-9 and I purchased a size 8.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from For a man These boots are not for a lady, they look like I ordered for my teenage son.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I would recommend this, but it was not for me... I really wanted to love and keep these boots, but I couldn't. I tried getting used to wearing them around the house, but they were so heavy that they actually hurt my ankles. Maybe I have weak ankles, I don't know..but I knew that I wouldn't look forward to wearing them, so I had to return them. Although these weren't for me, the quality of the boots are great and they were extremely warm. They were also pretty bulky, so I'd imagine driving in them would be a challenge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wifeys' needs Dear love wanted these for "v day" for our move up north later this year. If they don't hold up I will update. So far they are good looking boots and the quality seems great. Wife says they are comfortable and warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These boots are huge!!! ...but I love them Upon opening the box, I immediately though, are these the right size? Did I accidentally order Men's instead of Woman's? Turns out, no, they are just huge boots. They are very comfy and warm. They can be a bit clunky for walking very far. Overall I like them though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are serious boots! I love my new Sorel caribou boots! I finally wore out my old pair - I had them for 23 years and went through 4 pairs of liners. I frequently walk up and down my 1/4 mile long driveway in winter in a lot of snow, and these boots keep my feet toasty warm and have great traction. My old ones were men's size 6-7 (I don't think they had women's sizes then) and I have noticed my new ones have a narrower heel, but are wider in the toe box. They fit a little looser width-wise, but are totally fine if I wear thicker socks. Thank you, Sorel - I'm looking forward to wearing this pair for 23 years as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Pleased I have no complaints about these boots at this time. They are super sturdy and fit true to size. I am hoping to test them out in the upcoming snow my region is about to have!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome Love these boots. I live in Buffalo, NY where we keep getting pounded by this cold winter, and the boots have held up wonderful. Tons of room to layer up socks; definitely waterproof and warm. Love them!
Date published: 2014-02-12
Rated 2 out of 5 by from These boots are HUGE I ordered these because they looked warm and had good traction in my normal size (8.5) because after reading the reviews and knowing that I would wear thicker socks, I thought they would be best. When I received them a few things I noticed right away....the sheer weight of the box they came in should have been my first indication - they were HUGE. They literally look like they would be better suited for my husband, they are HUGE in multiple aspects -- shoe size, weight, and sheer size of the actual boot. If you're looking for a good workout, these shoes would be perfect! I'm sure they are also very warm! They are being returned immediately!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ithaca Winter Proof Let me start out by saying these boots are AWESOME. Not only do they look great, but they keep my feet dry, super warm, and are way more comfortable than I was expecting. I live in Ithaca, NY where the weather is unpredictable and harsh and these boots have saved me a number of times already. I can walk through snow, slush, and ice with no fear of wet cold feet. Highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chiberia Saviors Chicago has never been so cold, these boots have saved my feet this winter. I haven't really needed snow boots in the last five years but after my feet were getting soaked and frozen to the core I took the plunged and purchased these. My feet have never been so warm waiting for the Public Transit. Highly Recommend, however they do feel a little clunky and heavy but with my feet staying as warm as they do, I don't mind the work out of walking in them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clunky but Gets the job done! My feet are really warm and dry and I literally plow through two feet of snow for the simple fact that I know I can (very empowering lol). However, I wear an 11 and the boots are clunky and are a bit too big. It might be a different story if you wear a smaller size. In all, I'm happy with my purchase.
Date published: 2014-02-11
Rated 2 out of 5 by from WAY too big I'm typically an 8.5 in all shoes and these boots were a full size too large. Even with thick socks, I could not walk in them. They were clunky and heavy so I returned them for a refund. Disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from True cold weather boot A true winter boot for snowy & cold conditions. I am on the fence about keeping or returning. I have a pair of the original pair, made in Canada. Very warm boot, but not very feminine looking. Very oversized.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wanted to keep this boot but... they were too big and bulky. When I put them on, they were very comfortable and seemed warm (only wore them in the house), but they were very bulky and a bit big even with thick socks. If you plan on ordering these boots, I would recommend sizing down. I am a 7 - 7.5 and I ordered the 7. They were roomy even with wool socks. I do have to say they seemed to be of good quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Winter Storm Nika When I first opened the package I was surprised at how bulky it looked like. People have mentioned this before but for those that are looking for something stylish-trendy, then make note of this. Another review mentioned the weight so I wanted to comment on that. They are heavier than your average shoes. As a New Yorker, I walk everywhere. I did not find this terrible or uncomfortable. If anything, I took it as an additional form of light exercise. Think 2lbs ankle weights. About size, my size ranges from 9 to 9.5. I decided on testing the 9.5. I am glad I got it. The 9 - which I later found in a sports store - was snug. No thick sock room if I ever did need it. The 9.5 arrived and it is a little large but when worn with thick winter socks, it is just right. Finally, my primary concern was if it was weather-proof; meaning water-proof in rain, snow, and slush. Soon after my purchase, Winter Storm Nika hit the tri-state area and the boots proved to be weather-proof. My feet were warm and dry. Take that NIKA!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from warmest boots I have ever had. I work in two different offices on a university in the northeast where it is hilly and very cold. I was so tired of my feet freezing this winter and noticed all of the students wearing a version of these boots. I had to return the first pair because they were far too large. I ordered down a size and still have room in the ankle area but love how warm these are. My feet have been warm and toasty in extremely cold temperatures this winter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Snow Boots When reading the reviews, I was a bit conflicted when choosing a size, for I have wide flat feet and wear a size 8. I ordered a size 8 hoping that the boots ran a little big, and they do. I have plenty of room with thin socks, and they keep my feet unbelievably warm. If I needed to wear an extra pair of socks, I could. Width is perfect and I have no problems keeping the boots laced and sliding them on and off without having to loosen them up. However, the boots look HUGE on my feet, and are kind of heavy. But with all of the snow storms occurring, my feet can stay completely submerged in a foot of snow for periods of time (like shoveling snow) without getting cold.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved, but had to return The boots looked really great, but were just too big. I ordered my normal size 6 , but even heavy duty winter socks couldn't make up the difference. I wasn't able to tighten the laces much either, but I don't think that would be a problem if the rest of the shoe fit. I was sad to see them go and once I can find a smaller size I'll definitely reorder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saving my life As someone attending school at the heart of the Midwest's "polar vortex", I can safely assert that these boots are now my go-to protection from the elements. They look uber-classy and are very clearly made from quality materials and constructed with extreme thought and worksmanship. Love 'em love 'em love 'em. Student loans are real and I understand that, but I would rather buy one pair of these right now than 5 shoddier pairs over the course of the next 10 years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost There I rarely write reviews, but since I would have saved myself some hefty shipping fees by reading the reviews on here I thought I would spare someone else from making the same mistakes. What everyone is saying about the weight of the boots is true. They are very heavy. This, compiled with the sizing issues, makes it so that if your boot is a bit too big the weight of the boot will make it so that with each step your foot is sliding around in the boot. I am a size 7.5 99.9% of the time and these seem like they are 1 size too big. They are also awkwardly big/cartoonlike, as compared to the other Sorels. To add to all this, I have to pay to ship them back. Sorel won't charge for your new boots to get shipped, but good luck getting them. For a company that is doing so well, they can't seem to manage inventory levels very well. Maybe this is a ploy (supply and demand) to make the boots harder, and there for hotter, to get. Either way, I waited 2 months for them to come back in stock in my size only to have to return them. To make matters worse, I was just told by Sorel that these probably won't come back in stock until the next season (or unless someone returns a pair). Well that's great, but I won't be needing these in the Spring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Caribou's run large! I typically wear a size 8.5 or 9 and decided to order an 8.5 based on reviews saying the boots are clunky and ran large. I tried them on and they were way too large, especially in the toe area. Even with thick wool socks and laced up tightly, I was not able to walk easily in these. I just returned them and ordered a size 8. Great quality boot so I'm hoping the new ones work!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I too want to LIKE them...but, I normally wear a size 7 in shoes, but knowing SOREL runs big I ordered a size 6.5 --They fit, --You MUST order a 1/2 size down. That was the ONLY thing good about this boot. When I opened the box, much to my surprise, I thought I had the wrong boot. You would think this was a size 10 and a man's boot. Although this product is made very well, they are WAY WAY WAY too clunky ( I mean HUGE looking!!) VERY VERY heavy and hard to walk in. Now have to ship this HEAVY item back. SOREL, please offer FREE shipping at least ONE way!!!-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite boots! I absolutely adore these boots. They are warm, comfortable, and (best of all) have incredible traction on any wintery surface. They can get a little heavy after extended walking around, but the feeling of total control on slick ice makes the weight worth it! I can't imagine ever buying a different kind of boot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I Want to like them! I am disappointed about the liner. I had a pair of the older ones with the gray wool felt liners. They were so comfortable and warm. The new liners are too tight, and hard to put on with the front sewn up. They also don't feel as warm as the older style. If I decide to keep them, I will have to cut the front panel to make them possible to take on and off without struggling. Not really a fan of the Faux fur on the top either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou boots These boots are extremely well made and very heavy duty, but much to clunky and big for everyday use. More suited for someone living in extreme weather or someone who prefers a more masculine look. I had to return my because they were way too big and heavy for me. My feet looked ginormous in them.
Date published: 2014-01-27
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Big Boots I ignored previous comments about the boots being overly large, heavy and clunky thinking that there was no way they could be THAT big. As it turns out, they are. I love the look in the photo, but I imagined them to be less heavy and chunky than they actually are. They were certainly warm, but they were not for me. I just sent them back (Sorel does not pay for shipping). For the record, I usually wear and 8/8.5 and I ordered a 9 based on another pair of Sorel boots I tried on and those seemed to be the correct fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, good ice traction, true to size, but inner cuff flap needs to be larger I received my boots and the size I ordered based on the measuring guide was perfect. They are very warm and have good ice traction. My one complaint is the inner boot doesn't have much room in its center flap to tuck your pants in. it's really only enough to get your foot in, makes them hard to get on and off. That was my secondary reason for getting the boots. I had thought that a lace-up boot would make that easier. I have been using Bogs but I wanted something easier to get on and off, so that didn't work! but I 'll admit, much better in slippery areas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm a fan! I'm a size 9.5. After reading comments I ordered a 10. They are a little big. But so nice and warm, I just leave them by the back door slip them on and off for quick trips outside. I wore them to NYC, all day trip, they were comfort. Love the wool liner. My son also has a pair he really likes them also.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good purchase I was in Toronto over the holiday during the aftermath of an ice storm. Everywhere I looked people were wearing these, so I decided to invest in a pair and now I understand why. These boots are super sturdy and warm. They run a half-size large, so be sure to size down. Hopefully they stand the test of time...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish they were mine I bought 2 sizes in 2 Caribou versions as a gift. My daughter chose the Caribou originals as a better fit (and she loved the gray). I will return these but wish they were mine in a 7/37 to replace my ancient Caribous! Original Caribou still has it, and I love these Caribou Wool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boots Ever! I am writing this review, not because I just bought a pair, but because I have been loving this boot for 20 + years! I just got done snow blowing my yard and it is -30 degrees with wind chill and I had a thin cotton pair of socks on and my feet were toasty the entire time. My parents live on the Canadian Border where some weeks it will not get above -10 during the day and these are my go to boots that I live in because they are so warm. They are comfortable as well and will often throw snow shoes on and head into the woods for 2-3 hour snow shoe. As I mentioned, I bought these boots 20 years ago and don't think I will ever need a new pair because they have held up so well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with product and service I bought these boots for my daughter, who is moving to Alaska soon. The quality is exemplary, and the service was excellent. The boots arrived when I was told they would, and my daughter is thrilled with them (they were a Christmas gift).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from tried two times still did not fit I ordered my normal shoe size, 9.5 and they were snug even with thin socks. So I sent them back ($17.00 cost) and ordered a size 10 in a Caribou II and they were also too small. I will be sending them back as well. I give up. Without free returns I will have spent $34.00 and still have no boots. Very shallow foot area for a boot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pretty good boots They are great boots. I only have 2 issues. 1: They are huge boots. I like that, but it's important to know they are big and heavy. 2: They are really warm unless my feet are cold putting them on. If they are cold they remain cold.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for high arches I have the same comment others do-- Sorel Caribous do not fit feet with high(er) arches. I can't get my feet into the boot with lining in, even without socks (or even the lining by itself without a long struggle). SO discouraging. I loved my old Caribous but a mouse made a nest in the toe of one and that was that. Why on earth can't the elastic just be a bit stretchier, and the tongue cut wider at the bottom like my old ones were? Same size, totally different fit these days.
Date published: 2013-12-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou I love these boots. They're a lot heavier than I expected because the bottom is solid rubber but they're very comfortable and holding up very well so far in the Minnesota/Wisconsin winter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A true winter weather boot This is a boot to last. I can picture myself still wearing this in 10 or more years. It is very! warm and has great traction. Maybe a little bit heavy feeling but I'm okay with that. I bought it for winters in Vermont doing outdoor things. The style, too, is classic. I wear an 8 shoe and the 8 fits just right.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really Heavy Shoes These are great looking shoes, however they are so heavy! They are not my ideal boot to go hiking/walking around the ski resorts or snow trails, or even during my commute in the city. It felt like I was wearing an extra two pounds on each foot. I returned them simply for this fact.
