How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots Finally got to wear these boots after having them a few months. We got about 10 inches of snow and I worked outside all day and my feet stayed dry and warm. February 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect. True to description I switched back to pac-boot style after a decade of use out of a pair of Conquest - I'm not scrambling around on ladders, rooms etc as much anymore! Love these boots very much. Look forward to putting them on! I am an easy 10 in ALL shoes. I ordered 9.5 based on reading reviews, ended up with a 9 and they fit great. Get some! February 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Money I ever spent I bought these boots over a year ago and it looks like they will make it through another abusive winter. I wear them every day during the cold months working construction. Water, mud, & snow has nothing on these well designed boots. The Caribou's have a pliable leather upper and are very comfortable even when enduring 10-12hr shifts. January 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what I wanted For years I've watched the ticket punchers on the ski slopes who wear these with envy. I finally got my own pair and they are exactly what I had hoped they would be: comfortable, warm, not too heavy, durable, solid, good traction, stylish, and a little macho. Makes shoveling the driveway and general trudging a little more bearable...and hip. January 24, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor material - cracks in rubber! This is the second pair of this design ending with exact same defect - cracks in the rubber on the side - alongside the upper edge of the grey line. Previously I owned same design from another brand, and assumed it was a bad label, so I switched to Sorel due to good reviews. The problem with the reviews are that they have been submitted when product has only been worn a very few times, far from the end of life which seems to be around 1.5 years. Prior to this time they are great and warm. I've never experience cracks like these in my rubber boots - not even XtraTuff made of vinyl. I'm very disappointed, and will now have to look for other designs, as also Sorel's boots will crack after very little use vs expected use/wear. So if you're considering these boots/this design: they are great if you you're OK with buying new ones every 1.5 years, or that a lifetime of 1.5 years is great! January 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Favorite Snow Boots I love these boots. They are stylish, super comfortable and very warm! I'm normally a size 13 (US) and ordered 13's but they were slightly too big. I think the size 12 would have fit more snugly but it wasn't a huge issue when I laced them tightly. I highly recommend. January 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bomb A** Boots These boots keep my feet toasty as an arm pit in summer. I wore them out in 10 degree weather for 5 hours and were almost too warm. I said true to size but they run slightly large which is perfect for thick socks. Buy your actual size! These boots are Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! You don't have to wear these, but you'd be a lot cooler if you did! January 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots. Use them for ice fishing. Perfect warmth and comfort. January 5, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Happy Toes in No Wisconsin Can't really comment on quality as I've only worn the boots once. Had to return first order as the boots were definitely way too large (ordered 1/2 size up which was 8.5). Reordered an 8 (usual boot size) and while still large they probably will be fine. First shipment charge (from Sorel) was $6.00 but my return back to them cost me another $20.00. I was also suppose to get a credit for the 2nd pair since the 1st pair was $40.00 less because of Black Friday sale. Sorel did not follow through. Glad I watched my credit card statement because I had to call Sorel and only then did Sorel post my $40.00 credit. Overall customer service was fine except for telling me they'd post my credit when my 2nd boots shipped and then failed to do so. They ship out quite fast so I'd say don't pay for expedited shipping because you get the boots in just a few days. Overall I'm satisfied and look forward to happy feet throughout the winter months. Rated 4 out of 5 by Awesome but way too big I ordered these and they fit like an 80's coupe de ville... Comfy but way way huge. My thickest wool sox wouldn't even touch the sides of my normal size. Bear in mind these are -40 boots and I'm only wearing in the teens, so I'm not tripling up on sox or anything but I ordered a full size smaller and they're still pretty big but doable I guess with some thick sox. If you want a natural feel for normal socks, maybe 1.5 sizes smaller? They're super comfy, amazing on snow and ice but not snug without downsizing considerably. Prob perfect if used properly. Lacing is weird too, loosens immediately after you pull tight and work your way up the boot. I think you just need more stuff between your bones and the boot. Hope this helps someone in my shoes. December 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding I wasn't sure about the white laces at first, but the boots look great. I ordered 1/2 size larger than my normal size, and the boots fit perfectly. November 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by are these steel toe? Are these steel toe? I'd not, what other ones are? October 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boots ever - I didn't know comfort like this existed I can't say enough about these boots, they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I usually wear a size 8, and had to reorder these boots a size lower so I think they run a bit large, but I haven't been satisfied with a boot like this ever. I take shorter walks in snow and ice (Chicago city-dweller) so the laces with easy on / easy off make things quick and simple. I'd recommend them to anyone going on a winter stroll rocking sweatpants and walking the dog. Happy hunting! May 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent winter boots Great product from a great company. These boots are highly recommended and will not disappoint. Top notch quality construction that will last many years to come. There is nothing better than Sorels for the long, cold Minnesota winters. They do run a bit large. I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than my typical shoe size. March 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Made a hard winter, easier. This is a high quality, rugged and stylish boot. It broke in easily and kept my feet warm and dry during a particularly snowy and white winter in NY. Aside from function, the boots got many compliments and stares every time I wore them. March 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by It's what I expected, good qualityand workmanship I owned my previous pair for over twenty (20) years and the only reason I replaced them was because they were finally showing their age, (kinda like me). My old boots were looking a little sad and my wife insisted that if I was going outside to shovel or blow snow to do so when the neighbors were not at home or just before dark. I thought she was referring to me, until she clarified that she was talking about by boots. March 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Boots, just the right size. These are some of the best all-around winter boots you can wear. I give them 4 stars because in my opinion the traction could be a little bit better. For those who are saying they run big, you are aware they are supposed to be a size or so larger? Your foot stays warmer that way as your body heat heats up the air between your foot and the boot. You are supposed to wear a thick pair of socks or two with them as well to "fill in the space" while still allowing air to flow. Wearing winter boots that are properly fitted is how you get frostbite. March 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product was very comfortable and warm I have had another pair of Sorel Snow Boots that I leave at a Winter Vacation House for 14 years. They still feel and look like they did the day I bought them. I didn't have access to my winter cabin and needed a pair of new boots to go snowmobiling in the Rocky Mountains. The boots arrived at my door step two days after ordering online. I read a review that said they run a little small. I wore two pairs of thick socks and still had room in the boot. The boots were extremely comfortable and kept my feet warm all day while snowmobiling and walking on snow trails in 15 degree weather. I would strongly recommend this boot to anyone who wants a durable, fashionable, warm, and high quality boot. They are worth the extra money. My only regret is that they will last me another 20 years, and I will have to wait that long to buy another pair. March 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Size Issue I bought a 10.5 (US) and its much too large. Is there a way that I can return them and know exactly what my size should be? March 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by How to keep warm in -29 below We recently took a trip to Fairbanks, AK to view Northern Lights. It was pretty cold out at 2:00AM. But, no problem with these Sorrell's which kept my feet toasty. March 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by At least one size too large Great shoe, runs at least 1-1.5 sizes too big. If you have a large foot, be prepared because these babies will make your feet look huge! Also they get you on the shipping charges. You only pay $6.00 to have them shipped to you, but I had to pay $21.00 for standard shipping through UPS to have them sent back to the company from PA. March 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boot for frigid weather BUT... I received my sorel boots about a week ago and am very very happy with them. I live in Northern Michigan and the temps this winter averaged in the low teens with a few mornings well below zero. The boots keep my feet very warm and are extremely comfortable. The only problem I had was the sizing. I originally ordered them the same size as my other shoes (11.5) and they were HUGE. I called customer service so I could reorder them and the gentleman was amazingly helpful. He suggested I reorder them a half size smaller. When I received the reorder they were to large as well. Instead of reordering them again I inserted an insole from an old pair of boots and now they fit great. I love these boots but I strongly suggest ordering them a whole size smaller if you plan on using a medium to light weight sock. March 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Not made in Candada anymore So far boots are great. They do say made in China which I hope doesn't reduce the quality but so far great very warm comfortable boots. March 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great snow boots! I'm normally a size 13E, and I have plenty of room in these boots. Pros: very warm. Waterproof. Soles have good traction for a snow boot Cons: insert pops out when I take the boots off. Have to shimmy back in. Overall, the pros greatly outweigh the cons. Very happy with them. February 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best winter boots hands down. I treated myself to a pair of the Caribou Wool Boots. These boots are fantastic at keeping my feet dry and warm. With my previous leather work/winter boots, when it snowed I would either have to go back in the house once my socks got wet or when my toes got cold which didn't take too long. Then I would have to wait until the boots dry to go back out. After buying these boots the only time I went back in the house was from exhaustion from shoveling my yard, then the neighbor's, then the elderly couple's yard across the street, and finally finished the day off making a snow man with my daughter. Outdoor for 4-5 hours and at no time did my feet get cold or wet. If you want a one time for life purchase these are the boots to get. Keep in mind they are very warm so if you wear them indoors prepare to sweat. Also they are very wide which will cause a problem if your driving a manual shift car. A lot of simultaneous brake and gas pressing. February 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Overall these seem like good boots. • Very warm— I had them out in subzero (F) weather. My feet stayed toasty warm. • They have good traction on both snow and ice— but still be careful. • I have not had them long enough to speak to quality or durability. • The one issue I have so far: These boots definitely run large for their size. I generally buy winter boots ½ size larger than my shoe size to allow for: 1) heavy socks; 2) foot swelling from activity; and 3) the space taken by the arch support inserts that I use. Given the conflicting reviews about how these boots fit, I ordered my regular shoe size (since the majority say they run large) which is ½ size down from what I normally would order. Even with all of the factors listed above, these boots still ran VERY LARGE for the size. If you are considering buying this boot, I would recommend buying a boot at least ½ size down, perhaps even a full size. February 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Classic Sorel - very warm - run huge Chicago aka Chiberia has had record cold and record snow this year and after my son swiped my winter boots I was stuck with out any. All the stores were sold out, all the online retailers were sold out until I tried Sorel. These boots are not stylish, they are totally about function: if you work outside, ice fish, snow removal or spend any time outdoors or around ice rinks (hockey dads) then these are the greatest outdoor boot ever! They are big and boxey on your feet and difficult to drive a car in so be careful. High quality craftsmanship but Be SURE to use their sizing chart, I ordered my first pair my normal size and they were HUGE, had to return them which was a bummer because Sorel does not pay for shipping - ouch! February 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Boot This is good boot. A little hard to get on but a good boot to have for the winter. February 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product was true to the details this product arrived on time and very speedy delivery this boot was warm when worn on cold winter days and dry on rainy days because of the waterproofing. would recommend to all my friends. February 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots but large Very impressed with these boots. Replacing 25 yr old Sorels that I FINALLY wore out. Had to return these (easy) because they were just too large as lots of other reviews say. Couldn't get smaller size due to none in stock but will definately re-order when they become available. February 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm boots and comfortable I used these boots for a snowmobile trip in Minocqua Wisconsin and my feet never got cold. The only problem that I had was that I have a high instep and it was very tuff getting my foot down into the boot. I found it was easier to pull the liner out a little to slide your foot in and the to push your foot down into the boot with the liner. It did appear to go in easier the more that I wore them. There is elastic on the front of the liner that helps give a little, but could probably be designed a little different for high insteps. The boots are very comfortable! February 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly What I Was Hoping For This is a great boot. I purchased these online for a trip to Canada for some dog sledding and other fun in the snow. They are extremely comfortable and kept my feet very warm in 10 degree F temperatures and a foot of snow. They also look great. I wear a 10.5 and probably should have ordered a 10 as they are slightly large. They are big and a little clunky but did the job. I would purchase these again. Highly recommend this boot. February 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent boot I've owned and loved Sorel boots for about 5 years. They are extremely warm and well made. This Christmas I purchased a pair for my husband. He wears a size 11 so I started with a size 11. We then moved down to a 10.5, then further down to a 10, which is what he ended up keeping. The boots are beautiful and now that he has found the correct size he is pleased as punch with them. February 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The only winter boot to own!! Arter years of buying cheaper imitations I finally purchased the real thing. Could not be happier. Warm, comfortable, great quality, easy ordering, and quick delivery. What else could you ask for? Great product and great service. February 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mens Caribou Best Snow Boots Ever! February 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent boot Would not hesitate to purchase again February 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very comfortable Very comfortable after adding insoles,a not enough cushin for me. Plenty of room for thick warm socks. They are perfect for snowy conditions. A little pricey $$, but what do you expect for a good boot. I bought mine for a ski trip and they held up to my expectations. February 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by High Quality, Warm, Stylish Boot is very high quality. Used Sorel size chart and foot template to order correct size. Ordered size was one half size smaller than I would usually order. Best feature: Rings for lacing make the boots easy to loosen when sliding in and out of them. February 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots Dear Sorel, I bought the Men's Caribou Wool Boot for my son, 23 yrs. old, and he absolutely loves them! Thank you for shipping them so promptly, without me even requesting such. Yours truly, Sue Hamilton February 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots Great warm boots for this brutal indianapolis winter. February 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Caribou wool boots If your feet are cold in bad weather it's all down hill! The Sorel boots are the best. Warm and comfortable February 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great functionality, but enormous. Overall, for an outdoorsman, these are perfect. For everyday use, not very practical. The physical size (not fit) of these things is absolutely gargantuan. If you just wanted to wear these to the store on a cold snowy/icy day, you might get some strange looks. Something along the lines of " is that Bigfoot?" However, in real outdoor conditions, the size creates stability, traction, and support. In 10 degree weather, my feet were the warmest part of my body. Great for sledding, hiking, outdoor work, or even watching a snowboarding event at the lodge. February 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Terrifically warm winter boot, albeit pricey! I am extremely happy with these boots. Wore them in several feet of snow in below zero (F) temperatures and not a single drop of moisture nor did my feet feel cold in the slightest! Would purchase a second pair if the price wasn't so steep. But, then again, you get what you pay for! February 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly as described. Just got my boots in time for a -20 degree cold snap. Boots were amazing. My feet are always dry and perfectly warm. Slightly larger than I thought but with an extra pair of socks they are perfect. February 6, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Unsatisfied--if shipping was free and quick, I'd send it back…AGAIN This is the SECOND time I had to get a pair of boots from Sorel. First off the fit is a joke. WAY too big. Second shipping isn't free. And it takes like a week and a half. Why should we have to pay shipping when we can't even get our size in a retail store?! Third, the inserts come out all the time. If shipping was free, the inserts stayed in, AND if the size was remotely what all other shoes are, then I'd be satisfied. Sadly, winter has been horrendous…so I haven't a choice. But I'm one and done with Sorel. February 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Color different in person I ordered the brown boots with the red stripe but they were actually much more of a burgundy color than brown. Did not think they looked as good in person so I am returning for a different style/color. Otherwise they seemed great. February 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warmest Boots I Have Ever Owned Spent 7 hours at an outdoor hockey game and my feet never felt any different than in my living room. February 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boots I've owned First off, im not a boot wearing person. I like slippers, I like loafers, I like barefoot merrell tennis shoes. I do however hate having cold and wet feet. Ive had these boots about 4 weeks and am very satisfied, They don't get wet, they don't get cold, they don't hold snow on them, they don't slip around (mostly). No much to complain about they're really expensive. Generally if I pay more than 100$ for something I feel like a sucker paying for shipping (like really?). Only other thing I wasn't thrilled about is these boots are big. Like so big I found myself having a hard time not pressing my brake and hitting the gas pedal in my car. Im not so sure about all these people saying get a full size smaller, but even with boot socks on I might go a half size if I was getting them again. February 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by new boots! struggled 10 years with wet feet while ice fishing. finally splurged and got some waterproof sorels. they seem to run slightly small in size, unable to wear multiple socks on really cold days. however the boots are better quality than i expected and see no reason i will have to buy another pair for 10 years at least. these boots rock!!!!!!!!!! January 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for this polar vortex These boots are top of the line quality and craftsmanship. From the super warm wool liners to the genuine leather used and the triple stitching ensures that these boots are made to last against the elements. Recently in parts of Canada we've been having temperatures plunge into the -30 range and where I live they're saying its colder then Alaska and let me tell you how happy I am to have these on my feet during this 'polar vortex'. I'd recommend these boots to anyone who is interested in keeping their feet warm. I usually wear a 9.5 shoe and I dropped to a size 9 in the boot and they fit like they were made for my feet. Sorels for life! January 30, 2014
