How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaky right out of the box I received my brand new Caribou boots and immediately took out the liners, filled the sink with a few inches of water, and checked to see if these "waterproof" boots are waterproof. One boot was. The other leaked like a sieve. The leak was from the bottom of the boot too, not from where the rubber meets the leather. This is my second pair of modern Sorel boots and I'm done, baby. These boots are going back as soon as they dry out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rugged boot, smells funny I tried these on in the store and ended up a 1/2 size smaller than normal. I wear 11.5 in everything, and went with the 11 in these, which makes a good snug fit with a thick wool sock so my heel doesn't move. The boots are extremely warm the second you put them on, and are extremely waterproof. I was able to drive with them, although carefully. After a month of owning, my only complaint is the smell. I know it's weird, but the rubber has a very strong rubber smell and it actually sinks up my entire apartment. I don't want to keep them outside. I tried putting them in a garbage bag, and that didn't work. So I'm not sure if I will end up keeping them, which is unfortunate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, comfortable, and warm. I'm not a professional reviewer by any standard, but wanted to take the time to say I think these boots are great. Instant comfort, I love the look of the leather, the laces are secured by large, easy-to-thread metal circles rather than hooks that your lace slips off of so easily, and the wool insert is soft and warm. I work in the Alaska bush, on the tundra, and we have lots of minus 20 degree F days. These are what I would call my "warm day" boots, meaning from under freezing to about minus 10. On colder days than that, when I have to stand on the tarmac and wait for a single-prop plane to fetch me to another Native village, I rely on something more formidable like the Baffin Endurance Snow Boot with a small heating battery in a side pocket. But for "every day" slush and cold of plus 32 degrees F to minus 10 or so, these Sorels are hardy enough, and I like the look much more than the Baffin trompers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Boot These are my first Sorel boots. I must say that they are much better than expected. Very comfortable and warm and they look great. These are really for cold or snow. If you wear them on a warmer day (say 40 degrees) your feet will be hot. The size is true. I tried on someone else sorels (A different type) and found them tight. I ordered a 1/2 size bigger but should have just got my size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These boots last I purchased a pair of Sorel boots 29 years ago to prepare for the Michigan winter. Snowmobiling, hunting, ice fishing you name it, and I have been using them ever since. The old boots are shabby but serviceable, but I thought I would treat myself to a new pair. I truly love my new Caribou boots. Since I am 71 years old, I have every reason to believe the boots will outlast me. Oh well, I love them anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems like a quality boot so far I've only had these for a couple weeks but so far, so good. They've kept my feet warm so far, but the coldest temperature has been -5 degrees below 0 Fahrenheit so they haven't really been tested yet. With cotton socks, you'll feel the cold, but with wool socks, you should stay fairly warm. I ordered my normal shoe size and they're noticeably large; however, with thicker wool socks, that space gets filled up. They're quite comfortable. They also provide a good grip on snow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Boot for snow Boot little tight at first Broke in good. Warm @ -20 snowblowing. Only issue I have are cheap laces. Used for hunting in deep snow. Great traction & comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Need to stay dry and warm My last pair I had for over 10 years. Only thing wrong was tread was gone.If you use Bear Grease on seams and leather they will last. When I have to be outside in blowing snow, sub zero temps, no other boot saves my feet. The only bad thing, is you need to learn how to walk in them. If it was the end of the world, these would be on my feet You may feel the boot is a little loose so add sole liners. Sorell is the best

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Way way too big I wear a size 9, when I tried them on they were way too big. Sent them back, and had to pay to do it. Ordered 8.5 from another online retailer which were also too big. Finally I got a.pair of 8s whick I could barely get on. Fail. They look really nice though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty Snow Boots! I bought these boots for my husband as he would always complain that the previous boots he had did not work in the snow and that his feet was freezing after shoveling (Timberland). He wears a size 9 but after reading all the reviews I decided to go down a half size. Walla.... perfect fit 8.5. He wore them for the first time today and was very pleased. Super warm and sturdy. However, They are heavy when walking due to the liner that protects your feet from the cold and snow. Happy husband!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The very best. Period. This is my second pair of Sorel Caribou boots. I have other Sorel products, from Glacier Boots, for deep condition snow-shoeing in the back-country, to Manawan slippers to pad around the house, but in my opinion, Sorel Caribous are the "Gold Standard" all around snow boot. My other Caribous, now about 35-40 years old, are still fine, but I wanted an extra pair to keep in my car for surprise snow storms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use the fit guide on Sorel These boots are awesome. Super warm and comfy. Size fits perfectly as long as you use the fit guide on Sorel or you'll buy the wrong size. I normally buy 10.5 but using the fit guide I am a 10 for this boot. Received the boot and bam! They fit. The Burro is a great looking boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not yet tested by nature Caveat: No snow yet, so I haven't had a chance to use the boots. Choosing the correct size is difficult. Like other people, size depends on type of shoe. I measure for an 8. My business shoes are an 8 1/2. My Brooks running shoes are 9 1/2. My Lowa hiking boots are a 10. I initially tried a size 9. Slightly tight so I returned them. Brittney in Customer Service was fantastic! The 9 1/2's feel right - a little room for heavy wool socks. I expect the boots to perform in Chicago according to most of these reviews. Looking forward to a more demanding test in Alaska next winter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wool is wonderful I decided to toss tradition and order wool lined boots instead of felt. WOW! Just stepped up to full comfort. These boots are sweet. I wear them with some thick boot socks and stay cozy toe warm. I have a shattered right foot, which makes it wider than the the left. I was worried that they would be to tight and wondered if a larger size was needed. However, after an hour of wear, they loosened and stretched, and formed aroiund my feet like lovers wrap around each other in a fit of heated passion. The soles have been changed...for the better. In fact, compared to older models, the whole boot is a gold medal winner. If felt just didnt do it, go wool. Fall in love with your boots all over again...trust me, I'm a self proclaimed Hobo...lots of miles on theses feet...great boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect. True to description I switched back to pac-boot style after a decade of use out of a pair of Conquest - I'm not scrambling around on ladders, rooms etc as much anymore! Love these boots very much. Look forward to putting them on! I am an easy 10 in ALL shoes. I ordered 9.5 based on reading reviews, ended up with a 9 and they fit great. Get some!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Money I ever spent I bought these boots over a year ago and it looks like they will make it through another abusive winter. I wear them every day during the cold months working construction. Water, mud, & snow has nothing on these well designed boots. The Caribou's have a pliable leather upper and are very comfortable even when enduring 10-12hr shifts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted For years I've watched the ticket punchers on the ski slopes who wear these with envy. I finally got my own pair and they are exactly what I had hoped they would be: comfortable, warm, not too heavy, durable, solid, good traction, stylish, and a little macho. Makes shoveling the driveway and general trudging a little more bearable...and hip.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor material - cracks in rubber! This is the second pair of this design ending with exact same defect - cracks in the rubber on the side - alongside the upper edge of the grey line. Previously I owned same design from another brand, and assumed it was a bad label, so I switched to Sorel due to good reviews. The problem with the reviews are that they have been submitted when product has only been worn a very few times, far from the end of life which seems to be around 1.5 years. Prior to this time they are great and warm. I've never experience cracks like these in my rubber boots - not even XtraTuff made of vinyl. I'm very disappointed, and will now have to look for other designs, as also Sorel's boots will crack after very little use vs expected use/wear. So if you're considering these boots/this design: they are great if you you're OK with buying new ones every 1.5 years, or that a lifetime of 1.5 years is great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Snow Boots I love these boots. They are stylish, super comfortable and very warm! I'm normally a size 13 (US) and ordered 13's but they were slightly too big. I think the size 12 would have fit more snugly but it wasn't a huge issue when I laced them tightly. I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomb A** Boots These boots keep my feet toasty as an arm pit in summer. I wore them out in 10 degree weather for 5 hours and were almost too warm. I said true to size but they run slightly large which is perfect for thick socks. Buy your actual size! These boots are Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! You don't have to wear these, but you'd be a lot cooler if you did!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy Toes in No Wisconsin Can't really comment on quality as I've only worn the boots once. Had to return first order as the boots were definitely way too large (ordered 1/2 size up which was 8.5). Reordered an 8 (usual boot size) and while still large they probably will be fine. First shipment charge (from Sorel) was $6.00 but my return back to them cost me another $20.00. I was also suppose to get a credit for the 2nd pair since the 1st pair was $40.00 less because of Black Friday sale. Sorel did not follow through. Glad I watched my credit card statement because I had to call Sorel and only then did Sorel post my $40.00 credit. Overall customer service was fine except for telling me they'd post my credit when my 2nd boots shipped and then failed to do so. They ship out quite fast so I'd say don't pay for expedited shipping because you get the boots in just a few days. Overall I'm satisfied and look forward to happy feet throughout the winter months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome but way too big I ordered these and they fit like an 80's coupe de ville... Comfy but way way huge. My thickest wool sox wouldn't even touch the sides of my normal size. Bear in mind these are -40 boots and I'm only wearing in the teens, so I'm not tripling up on sox or anything but I ordered a full size smaller and they're still pretty big but doable I guess with some thick sox. If you want a natural feel for normal socks, maybe 1.5 sizes smaller? They're super comfy, amazing on snow and ice but not snug without downsizing considerably. Prob perfect if used properly. Lacing is weird too, loosens immediately after you pull tight and work your way up the boot. I think you just need more stuff between your bones and the boot. Hope this helps someone in my shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best boots ever - I didn't know comfort like this existed I can't say enough about these boots, they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I usually wear a size 8, and had to reorder these boots a size lower so I think they run a bit large, but I haven't been satisfied with a boot like this ever. I take shorter walks in snow and ice (Chicago city-dweller) so the laces with easy on / easy off make things quick and simple. I'd recommend them to anyone going on a winter stroll rocking sweatpants and walking the dog. Happy hunting!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent winter boots Great product from a great company. These boots are highly recommended and will not disappoint. Top notch quality construction that will last many years to come. There is nothing better than Sorels for the long, cold Minnesota winters. They do run a bit large. I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than my typical shoe size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made a hard winter, easier. This is a high quality, rugged and stylish boot. It broke in easily and kept my feet warm and dry during a particularly snowy and white winter in NY. Aside from function, the boots got many compliments and stares every time I wore them.
Date published: 2014-03-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's what I expected, good qualityand workmanship I owned my previous pair for over twenty (20) years and the only reason I replaced them was because they were finally showing their age, (kinda like me). My old boots were looking a little sad and my wife insisted that if I was going outside to shovel or blow snow to do so when the neighbors were not at home or just before dark. I thought she was referring to me, until she clarified that she was talking about by boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Boots, just the right size. These are some of the best all-around winter boots you can wear. I give them 4 stars because in my opinion the traction could be a little bit better. For those who are saying they run big, you are aware they are supposed to be a size or so larger? Your foot stays warmer that way as your body heat heats up the air between your foot and the boot. You are supposed to wear a thick pair of socks or two with them as well to "fill in the space" while still allowing air to flow. Wearing winter boots that are properly fitted is how you get frostbite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product was very comfortable and warm I have had another pair of Sorel Snow Boots that I leave at a Winter Vacation House for 14 years. They still feel and look like they did the day I bought them. I didn't have access to my winter cabin and needed a pair of new boots to go snowmobiling in the Rocky Mountains. The boots arrived at my door step two days after ordering online. I read a review that said they run a little small. I wore two pairs of thick socks and still had room in the boot. The boots were extremely comfortable and kept my feet warm all day while snowmobiling and walking on snow trails in 15 degree weather. I would strongly recommend this boot to anyone who wants a durable, fashionable, warm, and high quality boot. They are worth the extra money. My only regret is that they will last me another 20 years, and I will have to wait that long to buy another pair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from At least one size too large Great shoe, runs at least 1-1.5 sizes too big. If you have a large foot, be prepared because these babies will make your feet look huge! Also they get you on the shipping charges. You only pay $6.00 to have them shipped to you, but I had to pay $21.00 for standard shipping through UPS to have them sent back to the company from PA.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boot for frigid weather BUT... I received my sorel boots about a week ago and am very very happy with them. I live in Northern Michigan and the temps this winter averaged in the low teens with a few mornings well below zero. The boots keep my feet very warm and are extremely comfortable. The only problem I had was the sizing. I originally ordered them the same size as my other shoes (11.5) and they were HUGE. I called customer service so I could reorder them and the gentleman was amazingly helpful. He suggested I reorder them a half size smaller. When I received the reorder they were to large as well. Instead of reordering them again I inserted an insole from an old pair of boots and now they fit great. I love these boots but I strongly suggest ordering them a whole size smaller if you plan on using a medium to light weight sock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not made in Candada anymore So far boots are great. They do say made in China which I hope doesn't reduce the quality but so far great very warm comfortable boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great snow boots! I'm normally a size 13E, and I have plenty of room in these boots. Pros: very warm. Waterproof. Soles have good traction for a snow boot Cons: insert pops out when I take the boots off. Have to shimmy back in. Overall, the pros greatly outweigh the cons. Very happy with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best winter boots hands down. I treated myself to a pair of the Caribou Wool Boots. These boots are fantastic at keeping my feet dry and warm. With my previous leather work/winter boots, when it snowed I would either have to go back in the house once my socks got wet or when my toes got cold which didn't take too long. Then I would have to wait until the boots dry to go back out. After buying these boots the only time I went back in the house was from exhaustion from shoveling my yard, then the neighbor's, then the elderly couple's yard across the street, and finally finished the day off making a snow man with my daughter. Outdoor for 4-5 hours and at no time did my feet get cold or wet. If you want a one time for life purchase these are the boots to get. Keep in mind they are very warm so if you wear them indoors prepare to sweat. Also they are very wide which will cause a problem if your driving a manual shift car. A lot of simultaneous brake and gas pressing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall these seem like good boots. • Very warm— I had them out in subzero (F) weather. My feet stayed toasty warm. • They have good traction on both snow and ice— but still be careful. • I have not had them long enough to speak to quality or durability. • The one issue I have so far: These boots definitely run large for their size. I generally buy winter boots ½ size larger than my shoe size to allow for: 1) heavy socks; 2) foot swelling from activity; and 3) the space taken by the arch support inserts that I use. Given the conflicting reviews about how these boots fit, I ordered my regular shoe size (since the majority say they run large) which is ½ size down from what I normally would order. Even with all of the factors listed above, these boots still ran VERY LARGE for the size. If you are considering buying this boot, I would recommend buying a boot at least ½ size down, perhaps even a full size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Classic Sorel - very warm - run huge Chicago aka Chiberia has had record cold and record snow this year and after my son swiped my winter boots I was stuck with out any. All the stores were sold out, all the online retailers were sold out until I tried Sorel. These boots are not stylish, they are totally about function: if you work outside, ice fish, snow removal or spend any time outdoors or around ice rinks (hockey dads) then these are the greatest outdoor boot ever! They are big and boxey on your feet and difficult to drive a car in so be careful. High quality craftsmanship but Be SURE to use their sizing chart, I ordered my first pair my normal size and they were HUGE, had to return them which was a bummer because Sorel does not pay for shipping - ouch!

Had to return these (easy) because they were just too large as lots of other reviews say. Couldn't get smaller size due to none in stock but will definately re-order when they become available.
