How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product This boot is perfect for the cold weather. The height is perfect and the fact that it is completely closed makes snow play time and work time much more fun. Also the liner on the inside was not as warm as I expected. Not to mention that these boots are fashionable; they go with jeans, leggings, snow pants. If you wanted to you can even tuck your jeans into the boot and it becomes a great snow bunny look. Lastly, these boots are impossible to slipp in. Walking on ice is like driving with chains/4 wheel drive. Overall this are great boots and I would recommend them to any customer. December 18, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gorgeous Boots! I bought these boots as a Christmas present to myself and I am so happy I did! I ordered the black pair and received them yesterday - they are gorgeous and well made!! (They remind my of $300 ski boots!) After reading the reviews I decided to to get a size 6 instead of my usual size 7. When I first tried them on they were a bit snug. But after walking around in them they got roomier and are now very comfortable. I also tried them on without the inside sock/lining and the boot was super big! I personally had trouble pulling out the liner - but if you tug from the fluffy top you will see where the liner seperates from the actual boot and you can pull out. The boots are on the heavy side so I don't forsee myself walking all day in them. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and looking forward to NYC's first blizzard! December 25, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product lasts! I've worn Sorels for hunting since the early 80's. Thank you for a great product. September 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love this product! I love my sorels. However you must buy a whole size smaller, thanks to the reviews I learned this before having to return them. I'm usually a 8.5 so I bought a 7.5 and they fit perfectly. These boots are also quite heavy, but dealing with the Upper Pennisula, MI winters they are perfect! September 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beat the Snow! I live in New England. After Sorel was recommended to me over a popular pair of boots by a well-known Northern New England outdoor clothing / boot manufacturer from one of their own staff - I knew I had to get a pair. Massachusetts was buried in snow during the 2014-15 winter season. Defeated, I bought these boots at the end of January thinking it was impulsive - we would not get much more snow, and I was wrong! We got crushed! These boots were everything I needed to get through this brutal winter. I never slipped in them, never got water in them, they were perfect! I ordered shale, and the color is beautiful too! They're a bit on the heavy side - but that's necessary for the quality and performance. They run a little large - but that is key to being able to wear a pair of good wool socks, and also to tuck loose pant legs into. Plus, they look good as new even after the abuse they took. I can tell I have many, many more winters using my Sorel Caribou Boots. Best impulse buy ever! September 10, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Clunky and not warm I wanted to love these boots so badly - but they are just not very practical or helpful. For starters, they weigh about 15 lbs (slight exaggeration, but very heavy) and are trip-worthy. They are not easy to walk in or sit in. On top of that, they do not actually keep your feet warm. The insulation doesn't do too much. I live in Chicago and wanted to invest in a great warm pair of boots - these sure are an investment, but just not great for actual snow and cold. September 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Caribou's Run Very Large Be advised that these boot's run a full size large. If you are normally an 7 across the board, order a 6. As long as you order the correct size, these boot's are comfortable, warm & waterproof. A little heavy, but depending on what you're doing, that may not be a bad thing. August 5, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Returned Item Boot is about 2 sizes larger than normal HEAVY Great quality though not for me... May 5, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by too heavy i can barely pick my feet up with these. April 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm, comfortable & stylish! Bought these for my girlfriend after a brutally cold snowmobiling trip to Vt. a few weeks ago. Her old boots couldn't handle the subzero temps. Record cold & snow in the NE this winter. Went back to Vt. last weekend for another trip and her feet were so warm & toasty she was running around in the deep white stuff like a little girl again. These boots are WARM, comfortable & stylish! March 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Winter Ready We have had a crazy winter, so I wanted boots that were right on point for heavy snow. So far, so good. March 7, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Caribou boots Love them just wish they didn't look so bulky. March 7, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by So So I got this for my daughter and paid two day shipping..unfortunately I didn't received on time it took over a week and endup picking up from UPS.she wear size 7 but this is huge so we end up ordering size 6.since my daughter want it Sorel somehow. But I would recommend LL.Bean they are so comfy and true size good for newengland weather... Rated 5 out of 5 by Obsessed!!!! I just recently moved back to Cape Cod from Orange County so you can imagine my surprise with the crazy cold artic freezes and snow we have gotten this 2015 winter season. I've been wearing a pair of wellies with the fleece sock insert and my feet have been so cold I couldn't take it any longer!!!!! I have been on the hunt for a snow boot that would be durable and warm. I saw a girl in dunkin donuts with a pair of Joan of arcs from Sorel so I got to researching. Then I went to visit my friend and she had the caribou boots, I tried them on and I was in love. So I came to Boston today to buy some boots!!!! I found the caribou in the Grey color which Im obsessed with and they fit amazing. I'm usually a size 7-7.5 but I got the 7 and it fits great with my thick winter socks. The durability of these boots are amazing, they do feel heavy but you get use to it and they are extremely warm. I am totally in love with these boots and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality and durability. March 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by serious boot !! I live in NE Oklahoma, and most know that our weather is unpredictable to say the least. This winter my outside chores doubled and covers about 10 acres of walking. so this year i decided to be prepared (least amount of snow in years), but i was ready. i researched for 2 months before deciding on the Caribou. so glad i did because these boots are awesome. i ordered a 7 (my true size) and they are roomy enough for thick socks but not a must. i did find that if i leave my muddy boots out in the cold it takes forever for my feet to warm up so now i keep them by the heater till i need them. They are excellent on ice, no slipping at all. i have not had the deep snow this year to try them out but have confidence they will work out great. They are a little heavy but that should be expected in a boot of this type. I found the weight to my advantage in keeping sure footing and when they are laced all the way they are great for hiking on uneven terrain. as i love to do ! :) In summary these boots are not for the faint at heart, they are a serious boot for serious outdoor conditions. So if you are looking for a heavy duty durable dependable boot Sorel is the place to go. And they are cute cute cute February 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE! I purchased these boots after the 6+ feet of snow in Boston this winter. The boots keep my feet completely dry and super warm. I'm typically a 6 1/2 and a size 6 fits great. They are a bit clunky, but a small sacrifice for the functionality. They still look cute too! February 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by PERFECT! These boots are absolutely perfect. I initially ordered a size 7 based on my foot's measurement compared to the sizing chart the site provides but they were very loose. I exchanged for a size 6 and they were a perfect fit. Super warm and very comfy. They are a little clunky but it's something you'll get used to after a few times of wearing them. Very stylish yet extremely practical. Thanks, Sorel! February 24, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Large & Heavy These boots run 2 1/2 sizes bigger than your normal shoe size. They are very heavy and difficult to walk in. I can't wear them unless there is a lot of snow because it's hard to move around in them. The insert never stays inside the boot. Every time I take them off it comes out and it's extremely difficult to get back in. The only pro about this boot is the warmth. I would have looked at a different model of Sorel's if I had time but I needed them for the snow. February 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for the 50"+ of snow! I ordered these just in time for the wave of blizzards that hit the east coast and they were perfect! My feet were nice and toasty trudging through snow in -20 F temps. They fit true to size with the thick wool socks I wore with them. And as an added bonus, they are ridiculously cute and comfortable. As some other reviewers mentioned, they are a little bit heavier than the average boot, but that's to be expected with such a well-made and weather-proof boot. They sure made this first-time Sorel boot wearer a loyal customer! February 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing quality and classic look. These snow boots are so incredibly warm. They have heavy duty tread on the bottoms to get you through anything. The liner is removable making it easy to dry and clean. They make my feet look large, but that's the charm of snow gear! February 23, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fashion and function With the wild winter weather here in Massachusetts, I decided it was time to treat myself to a new pair of boots. My new SOREL's do NOT disappoint. Immediately upon taking them out of the box I put them on and fell in love. The style is extremely comfortable to wear with jeans or with snow pants to shovel. I love the heavy feel of these boots. I feel confident that I will be wading through the spring thaw in style. The size is perfect. I am a 7 in pretty much every shoe - so I got a 7 in these based on the reviews and they fit perfect. I would recommend that you get your size when you buy them. February 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid boots for Mid-Atlantic snow storms I've been looking for a boot that doesn't leave me soaked after walking through the snow, as my hiking boots do, in the winter. After reading a number of the reviews on this site, I was concerned about these running too large and ordering too many sizes down. I am a 9 in heels and in sneakers, and prefer a wide fit for dress shoes. I ordered the regular women's 8 as soon as it became available, even though many recommended going down 2 sizes. The size 8 boot fits me just fine. A size 7 would be too small. I don't have any issue with the thickness of the liner, and I think if I did order the thicker one, as some other reviewers did, this might be too tight a fit with thick, wool socks. I'm very pleased with the sturdiness of the boot overall and its warmth, particularly after climbing over steep snow piles and enduring low single-digit temps this year. I'm hopeful these will last me for a lifetime. February 23, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Quality boot, not so quality bulk I found the boot very large and bulky even though I purchased my correct size. I love the boot, it keeps me warm and is a necessity in the heavy winters. Yet, I'm still disappointed as to how big and bulky the boot is. I feel as though it's a workout to lift my foot in the boot. I would recommend the product ,but go a size lower than you would usually. February 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Very Serious Snow Boot! We only get snow and ice a couple of times a year here, but occasionally I travel to NYC in the winter months so I decided it was time to invest in some warm, waterproof boots. After much internet research, these were the boots that interested me the most, both for style as well as functionality. This site didn't have my size in the color I wanted (Cinnamon) so I had to order from a sporting goods store. Bummer, I really wanted to order from here, but alas... I trusted the reviews and ordered down a size. I usually wear a 9.5 in dress shoes and a 10 in tennis shoes so I went with a 9 in these and it was the perfect fit. I wear a thick smart wool sock with these, so the extra room is great and there is no way my feet will ever get cold with the combination of these boots and my socks! I've never owned a true pair of snow boots and I was surprised at how heavy and sturdy these were. They are certainly not for sissys! But they were so cute on, I didn't care. I wore them around my house for a couple of days to break the stiffness a bit and get my feet use to the added weight, then I ventured out shopping in them a few times. I tucked my jeans into them and honestly, I felt so strong and tough in them as I went around town. A couple of weeks later I had a trip to NYC. It was January and I knew I had to take my boots. I was so excited and prepared for the snowy weather. I put them on as soon as I got to the hotel because we were headed downtown for dinner and some shopping. It was very cold, but the sidewalks had been cleared so I wasn't really walking in snow or ice. My feet were warm, but by the time we hit a couple of shops and then went to Chelsea Market for dinner and more shopping, my legs were exhausted! I remember standing at the curb waiting for the light to change and as we crossed and I had to step up on the next curb, I felt like I could barely lift my leg. Luckily, the new Sorel store was just a block or so away, so I made a beeline there to buy another pair of lighter waterproof boots to walk the city in. (I got Glacy Slip Ons...I'll review those next) and boxed my Caribous and wore the Glacys out of the store. Now that may sound like I don't like the Caribous, but I DO. They are awesome boots, and look amazing, but they are SERIOUS snow boots and not for the faint of heart! Had I been stomping around in snow and ice, I would have kept the Caribous on and been a happy camper! They are heavy and warm and everything you could possibly want in a snow boot. The quality is excellent, well put together, the lining is so warm, and the soles are thick and strong. I have no doubt I will use these boots for many, many years to come, but in the right environment, just not for shopping! If you live in a very cold, snowy climate or visit one from time to time, these are the boots for you if you are going to be walking directly in the snow. I am so happy I have them and look forward to many years (due to the great quality) of wearing them. February 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Buy a size down! Then fall in love :D These boots are so wonderful in the Colorado winter. They have a nice grip, are weather proof, and they keep my feet nice and warm. I absolutely love them. After reading reviews, I went with a size smaller. I usually buy boots in an 8, but ordered a 7 and I am so thrilled I did. They fit perfectly. Yes, these boots are clunky and big, but they serve much more of a purpose than being "cute" or "trendy" ;) I highly recommend these boots in a size smaller. They're the best winter boots I've ever had! February 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots! I'm a size 8 but ordered a size 7 due to the reviews of it fitting a bit large. Perfect for the snow, easy to wash off the slush. Best snow boots i've purchased. February 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just exactly perfect I was worried about ordering the women's sorel caribou boots online because I had read so many reviews saying order size larger or order size smaller and some said true to size. I took a gamble and ordered the size I normally wear, an 8,and they are perfect! They are a bit clunky but they're snow boots... They're supposed to be! They are exactly what I hoped for. I just wish I hadn't waited so long to decide to get them. They're worth every penny! February 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent winter boots these boots keep my feet super warm in the snow. They are also very slip resistant. I am usually a size 8.5 but ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly. They are a little clunky feeling at first, but after a couple wears I'm used to them. Love the way they look, so happy I got them! February 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mostly good Keeps feet warm and dry. Good grip on the bottom. Only thing keeping these from being perfect is that they are SO stiff. They seem so clunky as I walk. But overall worth the purchase. February 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by These Boots Make Bad Weather Fun I live in Atlanta, so buying these boots seemed kind of silly at first. But then I had to go to Ohio for work and got stuck in six inches of snow and frigid cold. I couldn't have been happier with my purchase. These are GREAT boots. February 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Must-Have for cold wet hilly areas I ordered this online on Friday and it was shipped to me the next Wednesday! Fast delivery comparatively! And the boots are best for the cold wet weather in Ithaca! I used to slip on ice for several times and it pushed me to buy a pair of sturdy boots like this, and wearing Sorel I don't need to slip and fall for even once any more!! That is important!!! The size runs large--I usually wear 7, after reading the review I ordered a 6, and after wearing them around for a couple of days they fit perfect now(wearing light socks). Yet inside the boots it is not so airy--so I have to loosen the shoelaces a bit to prevent my feet from sweating and soaking my socks...And the inner layer is not of that high quality as the fur comes off a bit sometimes...Overall if you live in cold hilly areas this is the must-have for winter plus they look cute! February 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots, but buy a size down. I am glad I read the reviews and got a full size down. I usually wear a 7, but I went with the 6 and they fit perfectly. I think even with thick socks they will fit well. The shoes are really clunky and do make your feet look large, but they are really, really warm. Walking around in negative temperatures today and only my feet are warm. They took a few hours to be comfortable walking in because they are so heavy, but after that I think they are perfect for winter boots. Warm, cute, and waterproof. February 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots! When I first pulled these boots out of the box, my first impression was that they were very heavy and looked huge/clunky but when I slipped them on they fit like a glove and are very warm. They're super functional for what they're intended and look nice too. February 18, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Well Made-but very clunky I honestly feel like I have tires on my feet when I wear these. I go to a snowy college and getting up many stairs is very difficult because of how heavy they are. I wish I returned them before I wore them. They are cute, but they're massive! I would suggest a different Sorel boot because these are uncomfortable. But they are well made! February 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Just in Time So glad these arrived when the did. We are getting hit with more snow and cold in Northeastern Ohio and my UGGS weren't cutting it. I needed these Caribous because they are waterproof. I was nervous about ordering because so few options were available (everyone is getting on the Sorel train!) Following the advice from other reviews, I ordered a full size smaller. I wear 7.5-8, but ordered a 7. They were perfect. They fit with a little wiggle room...and I can wear heavy socks with them, too. Be warned, they are clunky...but I don't mind because they are keeping my feet warm and dry. I have gotten many compliments on them already. I particularly like the idea that I can buy replacement liners if/when needed. February 15, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by A little large, VERY heavy As per everybody's review, this boot runs a little big. I normally wear a 7.5 and got a 7 for this. It was ok- I actually could have gone to a 6.5. It is well made and sturdy. However, it weighs a ton and the shaft is tight. I do not want to wear them unless it is absolutely snow ridden out there. As I got them immediately before a snowstorm, I had no choice but to wear them. Otherwise, I would have returned them for another model. February 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful boot, liners run quite small My whole family wears caribou boots, and they are warm, waterproof and well-made. However, the liners in the newer boots run quite small. My daughter wears a true size 6, and the shell has plenty of room, but I had to order a separate liner in a size 7 (based on other reviews) for the boots to be comfortable. Now they are her "most comfortable boots ever"--but cost an additional $35 for the correct liner. February 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boots I have ever owned These boots are the best, they arrived just intime for the large amount of snow Indiana received, my feet just love these boots. These boots will more then likely last the rest of my life. I love these boots February 13, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Extremely heavy boot The boot is warm and makes me feel secured when walking in the snow. And it looks nice in the picture except for the fact that It looks extremely huge when I actually try it on(mine is 8). Also, it is extremely HEAVY. I sometimes feel like I am walking around with sandbags attached to my feet. February 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great snow boots! I bought these before my January trip to Quebec. I have never had a legit pair of snow boots before so when I first put them on I thought they looked so big! My husband said they looked good though so I went with it. I got them in the Cinnamon color and they really do look nice with the color contrasts. I wore them in -7 degrees walking through snow and my feet were so comfy and toasty warm. There was also a fair amount of ice on the sidewalks and I traversed it with no incidents because the grip on these is amazing. It took me a minute to figure out how the lip fits into the shoe before tying them but once I did, they were comfortable to walk in and snug around my ankles. February 13, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not for petites This is an amazing boot meant for heavy snow and all the activities related to it. It is impermeable and very very warm but I do not recommend it for petite women. I am 4'11" and 120 lbs. This boot is just too heavy for me. Sadly they will have to go back. Great boot if you can handle its weight! February 12, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Loved the boots BUT..... I am 5'1 and wear size 5 shoes. Plus my legs are on the short side. However these were slightly big. Plus because I'm short I felt that if my legs were a taddddd bit longer it would have been ok but they seemed too big overall for my petite frame. So I returned them and got the kids caribou in size 3 which fit way better. I'll be writing a review about that. I'm giving this 4 stars cause it is a really nice boot and it's not the boot's fault that i'm a shortie. February 11, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Slightly disappointed I purchased these boots a little over a year ago, and despite having quite a bit of inclement weather this time last year and some this year, I've only worn these boots maybe 3-4 times. I should have read more reviews before making the purchase, and I'm sad to say that I am overall disappointed in them. I will say that the positive aspects of the shoes are that they do keep your feet extremely warm, and they are of excellent craftsmanship. On the downside, they are very uncomfortable to wear. I wear an 8.5 shoe, and the 8.5 is way too big. My feet are constantly sliding around inside, and the shaft slips on my ankles/calves. It hurts to walk in them because they are super clunky, and I feel the need to strain my muscles in order to keep them on my feet. Thankfully, I didn't have any issues with the material rubbing my skin raw, which is a problem for me with a lot of shoes. Taking everything into account, they are well-made, but they do not deliver in terms of comfort and function. Sadly, I won't be recommending these. February 10, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by warm, dry boot Boot length is good, but they are very wide. Have a pair I bought in 1985, and they are much narrower. Boot is bulky, would be hard to wear all day long. They are warm and keep your feet dry. The boot tread has great traction. Overall a good boot, especially if you have wide feet. I'm sure these will last me the rest of my life, since the first ones I bought lasted 30 years!! February 4, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Way too bulky These are cute and true to size but they are way to bulky for my liking. I look like I have three sizes over than what I am with this boot. Otherwise too bad because they are cute and warm. February 3, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boot! If you are looking for warmth, this is the boot to buy! However, they are a little clunky but then again it's super warm so it's a price to pay! They do run large, I'm normally a 7 and bought a 6 and they fit perfectly. Overall, good boot! February 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST BOOT PURCHASE EVER! Eight years ago, I bought the Caribou style for work in Wisconsin as a lineman (plus the cinnamon color matched my work coat which was a plus)! I still wear them today for EVERY occasion and they're super comfortable, cute, warm, and waterproof. I highly recommend them! February 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love Make sure you go down a 1/2 size!! They run slightly big. I wear a 6.5 to 7. I have the 6 and they're perfect! January 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cute boots delivered In a hurry I ordered these Caribou boots in Shale/Gray on Tuesday night and they were delivered to my home on Friday at 10 am. I used the fit chart since Arkansas doesn't have a Sorel Store. My foot measured 9in which is 22.86cm which means my foot is a 6. However, I know I need shoes bigger than my actual foot so I went up one size and purchased a 7 (all of the shoes in my closet are 7.5). I can't wait until my ski trip 2/24/2015 to Aspen to try them. They are heavy, but I expected that since the website states for heavy snow. I'm partial to Sorel because a good friend let me wear hers on last year's ski trip. January 23, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Way too Big I live in Chicago and we get a good amount of snow every year, so I needed a boot that could keep my feet warm and not wet but still cute. This boot looked perfect for what I needed. I currently have the tivoli 2 boot which I absolutly love, I just needed something a little more snow proof. To make a long story short I got these boots in a size 10 because I kinda have fat feet and they were huge, not only did they fit huge they looked huge. So I went to the Colombia store to exchange for a different size. I had to go 2 sizes down to a size 8 and they fit good but they still looked huge and clunky. Now I have a friend who got a size 5 and they still looked massive. Maybe it's just they way there made. Unfortunatly I had to return them. This is a good product and I've seen it look good on some people just not me. January 23, 2015
