How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very much not impressed Having recently moved to Northern Michigan, I was excited to have a reason to purchase Sorel snow boots. That enthusiasm has dampened over the past 6 months. I have several issues with these boots. 1) Difficult to get on/off. 2) Warmth rated to -25 F? These boots can't keep my feet warm driving to work in a heated car. 3) Uncomfortable, clunky and heavy. After developing friction sores on my ankle bone, I learned that the seams on jeans must be placed just so, as to not rub on the bone. Also, it took awhile to break in the back of the boot, which painfully rubbed into my calves. And the boot is not too small, I sized up to allow for extra sock and pant room. My outdoor hiking boots (separate brand) are vastly superior to these Sorel boots as far as comfort, warmth, weight and ease of on/off. As far as the positive aspects, the Sorel boots are more socially acceptable to wear around town. In the limited amount of snow walking I have done in the boots (around town), they have been waterproof. The quality seems good and the tongue of the boot is gusseted to the top of the laces, which is a positive feature. I would not purchase this particular style of boot again. Perhaps other styles are better but I have no experience with them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I bought these boots a few years ago meaning to return them but never did. Every winter I hope they will magically be comfortable and keep my feet warm and dry. I actually think they make my feet colder! They are not comfortable and I had to order a size up so they feel ridiculously big! I feel like I have moon boots on! I wanted to love these boots since I do like the look of them - wish I could still return them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Your feet will bleed! I wanted to love these boots so bad, but I just couldn't. After receiving these boots around Christmas, I was so excited to walk to class in them, but after walking only 10 minutes my heels were already rubbed raw (I had double socks on too!). Thinking it was just them needing to be broken in, I kept trying to wear them throughout the next couple of snowy, wet weeks. However, every time I wore these boots, I would wind up with cuts and blisters all over my heels and Achilles area. Really sad because these boots are warm and waterproof, but not comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! (+ Some tips) I recently moved to a Midwest cold climate and ordered these to prepare. They are AWESOME. They are beautiful on, super warm, super protective against tons of snow, and easy to get around in (once you break them in!). I would definitely caution against ordering them 1/2 a size too big, though. I'm a 7 and I ordered a 7.5 (because of the reviews suggesting that they run small) and had to exchange them -- there was no way they would work even with big socks. Also: be prepare to have to break them in! I was surprised since they're so bulky, but they gave me blisters for the first week. Also: they are, perhaps predictably, HEAVY. They take some getting used to! But, overall, such a great solution to a cold climate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Joan of Arch shearling Love these warm and very stylish. I typically wear a size 10. I ordered a 10.5 which fit me perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! Favorite snow boot! I live in Missoula, MT and the weather here changes every 5 minutes. Wonderful having a universal boot to wear. Fits true to size, comfortable, great colors, and definitely warm. Tie loose for a slip on boot or tight if you're going on an adventure! I would highly recommend this boot to anyone in search of one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these boots! These boots have saved my feet I swear! I have had them for a few months now and they broke in wonderfully within a few wears. As someone who is not from upstate New York I did plenty of research before buying a pair and I am happy I did. Reading though the reviews I was told to get a size bigger (which I did as I am originally a women's 7.5 and bought a 8 ) as now they fit perfectly, even with nice wool socks on. They are extremely comfortable and I get endless complements on how nice they look. I honestly would recommend them to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love these boots! These boots are great - warm and protect from the elements. They are a bit heavy, but that is to be expected with a pair of boots this size. Overall I love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best snow boot available I live in an area that received about 25 feet of snow last winter, and these were the boots I wore almost everyday. They are incredibly warm and waterproof!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Boot with Real Shearling in Black This is my 2nd pair of Joan of Arctic, but my first pair are a camel color with the artificial fur collar - beautiful and functional. I bought these in black as soon as I saw them on sale to wear next year. SOREL's are the best snow boots and are perfect for the extreme winter like we had in the Rocky Mtns this year! I bought these for the shearling top to keep snow from clinging onto them and to wear for walking our dog to going out to dinner as my feet are always cold! These are dressier in the black with the leather, suede and shearling - funny to think of a "dressy" snow boot, but these are. I'll wear them with leggings and my long down coat! No longer weary of cold weather and 17" of new snow in a day. Joan of Artics are extremely warm, dry and comfy as expected from Sorel. They warm my icy feet! So far I haven't had any problems with delaminating soles on any model. But, I do hope Sorel comes out with the bumpy sole boots again - they gain the most traction and would be great on these boots! But, I love these boots for our cold, snowy days - the best! Not too clunky or heavy either!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bit rugged, serious snow ready I ordered both these and the Tivoli High boots to choose one...I'm keeping both! These will be my go to for deep snow and super cold days in Telluride, CO and Montana. They have substantial room for thick socks and accommodate my wide foot just right. If you have a narrow foot, these might be too sloppy. These will go with jeans and casual looks while the Tivoli are a bit more dressed up for trips to NYC.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So disappointed! :( I am so sad I am writing a negative review on these. I am a size 7 and ordered a size 7 and they fit perfectly. They are beautiful boots and completely warm. I live in Colorado and wore them for the first time out in the snow sledding with my kids and they were hurting so bad on the back of my ankles that I couldn't even walk. I thought it may be my socks, so I tried a different pair the next time and the same thing happened. My friend has a 7.5 so she had me try those and they were too big so I know the sizing was not the issue. So disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boot! I normally wear an 8-8.5 so based on reading all the reviews, I wasn't sure which size to get. I ended up buying an 8 and am glad I did. The boot itself seems to run true to size, if not a little larger. It's the liner that is a bit snug. I actually had about a thumbs width of room in the toe when I press down but my foot fit the liner perfectly. I decided to keep the 8 with the thought that the liner may stretch out eventually. We went to the mountains yesterday and I wore the boots for the first time with a medium pair of wool socks. My feel were very comfortable and only slightly cold (my feet are ALWAYS cold due to a health condition) so I consider the boots a great success! I would recommend buying your true size. Great boot for the WA mountains!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Boots! I bought these to wear in 20 degree and colder weather with snow. They were amazingly warm, comfortable and kept my feet dry. I would recommend them highly!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely Disappointed I was so excited to get a pair of Sorel Boots for the winter... however, I am extremely disappointed. The boots are very painful to wear and rubs my heels raw to the point of blisters. The material is too stiff. By the time I was able to wear them for winter, it was too late to return. Wasted money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy Warm and Stable I bought these boots in a size 9 which is what I wear generally and they fit great. They are warm and they provide a lot of stability in icy, snowy conditions. They are a little heavier than other boots that I own but that is what I was looking for for deeper snow. I really like the style and they garner lots of compliments when I wear them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love these new boots Got the navy and they are beautiful. Usually wear a 6.5 but read reviews and called customer service and got the 7 and the fit is perfect. Can't wait for deep snow gave my 5 year old white ones to a friend who also can't wait for snow and they still look new now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Order one full size up Great looking boot, but runs small. I wear 8.5, ordered 9, which I had to return for a 9.5.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from MONEY WASTED BUYER BEWARE: I purchased these boots 2 years ago and they were no longer waterproof after 1 winter season. Everytime I wear these in the snow, my toes get wet and the front of these boots soak up water within minutes. These boots seem to be defective or falsely advertised boots as waterproof when they are only water resistant. Buy at your own risk and test them out a few times in slush and snow and rain. Sitting around collecting dust. I love the style of the boot but not for my feet to only end up cold and wet. AND a lot of reviewers are saying these run small, but they have an awkward fit. The foot area around your toes is really wide for an average (medium) sized foot. I wear a 7.5 and got an 8... should've got a 7.5....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from RUNS TOO SMALL I didn't look at the reviews until after I got these. I got them before there was snow and have other sorel boots so I figured it would fit fine and just kept them in the closet for a month until I needed them (I should know better). They do not fit-I would suggest going into the store and trying them on-but if you buy online buy at least a size larger than you usually buy. I can barely get these on my feet, but the same size in all the other boots slip on comfortably. Dissappointed. The boot itself is great just like the rest-but unfortunately I can't return these and now I am stuck with boots that are too small.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs small I love these boots other than the fact they run almost an entire size too small. I have a pair of Joan of artic boots from 3 years ago and I wore a size 6. These, because of reviews,I ordered up only half a size and they still could go up another half size. Other than the sizing I love them! I get compliments on the blue color all the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best snow boots I ever owned They look great and keep my feet warm and dry during the harshness of winter. If your looking for a durable boot that will protect you from the elements WHILE remaining comfortable AND stylish, these are the boots! Love them!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not true to size! Good looking boot - a bit bulky. Size 12 too short. Rubber bottoms not true 12.
