How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No traction I️ got these boots last Christmas after wanting them for years. I️ was so disappointed when I️ realize I️ can not wear them. If there is any ice under the snow, the boots are extremely slippery. I️ have fallen miltiple times. So disappointing

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super cute but weird boot strap These boots are really cute and fit nicely but had a what the moment went using the boot strap to pull on.... and they unsnapped? I don't like that at all but that's the only negative feedback I have, so I'll keep them, great other wise.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hard to pick yourself up by bootstraps! I received these boots in the mail two weeks ago and have worn them three times. So my review is based on initial satisfaction level from wearing them for about four hours total. The good: these boots are so darn cute! I feel like a snow bunny when I put them on and run around in Alaska. Basically here in Alaska we have two forms of footwear winter footwear which is either bunny boots or Sorel’s and summer footwear which is either Xtratuff or flip-flops! They are extremely warm and high enough to wear with Capri leggings successfully. The quality in the craftsmanship seems to be sturdy and true to its brands history. The bad: your excitement to put them on is quickly diminished when you try to use the bootstraps to pull them up and realize someone had the “bright idea” to use snaps to attach the bootstraps so they just pop off as you’re trying to put the boot on. What is this all about Sorel people!? As a woman with nicely manicured fingernails it is not convenient to have to grasp onto leather with your nails to pull your boots on. These boots shed worse than my black Labrador retriever in Spring. If you put them on with contacts in be ready to have hair in your eyes in your mouth and all over your pants should you choose to cross your legs while you wait in the DMV. My biggest complaint about these boots though would have to be that the heel where the leather meets the lower part folds in when you walk rubbing against the back of your heel. Not like a too tight boot but more of a continuous fold agitation. All in all the “cute” factor made these boots get saved from hitting the return bin. I will wear them and feel cute, despite their flaws. Why? Because that’s what we do for most female footwear anyway!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well crafted boot I bought some Uggs, that was poor quality, with fake wool. I returned them and got these boots; very good construction and quality; very pleased with these boots. Going to buy these boots for my daughter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's 6 degrees and my toes are toasty I live in interior Alaska and quality winter boots are like gold- these boots are heavenly. Cute, durable, waterproof, warm and super comfy. It snowed 12 inches the day I received these in the mail so I immediately put them to use while I shoveled out my driveway. Sorel is a quality product. These are worth every penny. So far 6 degrees is the coldest temperature I've worn them but my feet are happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots! I just moved for the first time to a place with real winter and I have been shopping around for good winter boots. I am SO happy with my purchase of these. They are super warm and comfortable, I loved all the color options, and I am really happy they are so tall. My favorite feature is that the warm inner liner can be pulled out and washed! I haven't yet worn them in serious ice, but the tread good. I highly recommend these!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Joan of Arctic Boot black stone, best for snow. I had a horrible experience. I ordered the Joan of Arctic Snow Boot for my daughter’s birthday via overnight delivery. It was not received overnight and upon receipt the Boot was damaged. It was coming apart at the heel. Customer service did not try to help me in the situation I was very disappointed in the overall service. I will not use Sorel again due to their not trying to even cure this situation. I didn’t even receive my full refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have I can't wait to wear these boots this Winter. I live in Wisconsin on a lake, therefore doing a lot of outdoor activities. We can have harsh cold winters. I was looking for a boot that can keep my feet warm and dry in single to negative degree temps. After reading reviews and purchasing other numerous products from Sorel it was the obdvious choice. A lot of reviews state their boots run small. I have never had an issue. They fit perfect for me with a bit of room for a thicker sock if need be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is exactly what I was looking for I have poor circulation and these boots really kept my feet warm and toasty while I was in Colorado playing in the snow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too small...didn’t keep feet warm I purchased these for cold, rough winters in ND and was disappointed. I ordered up a half size (I’m usually a 6.5 and got a 7) and they were still too small. I could wear them with no socks but when I tried to wear thick socks, it cut my toe circulation off. They were also very heavy to walk around in. Cute boot though. But not very functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish Winter Boots Style and warmth all wrapped up in one boot. I get a lot of compliments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Boot! The boot fits true to size yet with enough room in case you want to double up on socks. I was worried about the boot not fitting my calves with how tall they are but, with the laces going all the way up you can adjust and tighten to your desire. The fur at the top adds a hint of style but the boot is still fully functional for the cold weather up north!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Boots for iceland I am going on a trip to Iceland and waited last minute to buy the items I needed. I never owned a pair of heavy duty boots so I was nervous in my purchase. I wanted to make sure no matter how much the weather changed I would be prepared and so after doing a lot of research and looking at reviews I felt the Joan of arctic would be my best bet. I usually wear a size 8 because I like some room in my shoe, and knowing I would wear thick socks felt like it might be a cozy fit. So I ordered an 8. I got them exactly when they said it would arrive and when I tried them on it was a sigh of relief. They fit perfect and are nice and snug with wool socks. I am in Iceland and they are my go to shoe. They are a bit heavy but I felt grounded and sturdy. They are so warm and feel great while walking and I was on rock roads, didn't slip. Stepped in 6 inches of mud and didn't feel any wetness and didn't slip or fall. It's a fantastic boot and a great investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Stylish Snow Boot! I've read the good, the bad, and the ugly on these boots and decided that I had to try them out for myself, especially since I live in an area where we can get a TON of snow. These are WORTH it! I read some complaints about parts of the boots being easily broken, but I think it's worth noting that the top straps of the boots were NOT designed to be used to pull the boots on (They do indeed pop off) other than that, the construction of the shoe is amazing and they are very warm! They do run a bit big, which was a common complaint I read in reviews as well. I ordered mine in a 6, but they could have easily fit a 7. For reference, I wear a 6 in every other pair of Sorel shoes I own. The extra room does make it easy to wear thick socks with it though! If you don't like to do that however, I would recommend going at least a half size down! So excited to have these adorable boots for winter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I have had the same pair of the Joan of Arctic boots for at least 5 years. The bottoms are getting worn down now but are still great boots!! I am in the snow a lot in the winter & with these boots my feet stay DRY and warm, even in deep snow. **** Please Note: The straps on the sides are NOT for pulling the boots on, but so you can pull out the lining to wash/dry****

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After 4 years im still in love I love these boots!! I wear these all winter long and they are wonderful for long snowmobile rides they keep my feet extremely warm and they're wonderful for going to the ski area. These boots are extremely warm and comfortable. I've had them for going on 4 years and I haven't noticed any wear, they are good as new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality. I was very pleased with the boots. I wear a size 8/8.5 and ordered an 8.5 which fit perfectly. They are warm and durable. They are also nice looking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the fur I have had Sorels before and they are a great product. I tried on a size in the store and decided to go a half size bigger, so I had to order online. I feel no difference between the sizes. The boots are very cute, love the fur trim and that the lining comes out to dry easily. I don't understand why the toes are turned up and this is something I will have to get used to. It's been warm on the mountain so I have not been able to test the warmth factor. My last Sorels were 30 years old and a men's style so I wanted a pair made for a women's foot and taller on the calf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot! Highly recommend! Great boot, warm and very waterproof. I normally wear a 7-7.5, exchanged mine for an 8 and they fit much better, especially with thick socks. Love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I live in the middle of the rocky mountains where 4-5 feet of snow in your front yard is very normal. These boots are perfect for the weather. My feet stay warm and dry along with most of my calf. The loops that go over the fur part are not for pulling your boots on so just a warning. Take the time to unlace and then lace them up. Perfect if you are outdoors for extended periods of time or just a quick trip to the store.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavy Boot These boots weigh a lot they are very heavy, but they keep my feet warm. They run small I should have sized a full size up. I usually wear a 9 and order a 9.5, but I wished I would have ordered a 10. They run short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So warm!! These are boots are nice and toasty for cold Michigan winters. My only concern is the sole seems a little slippery on some surfaces. Overall I am very pleased and super happy that they are so warm.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from barley lasted 1 winter season I love Sorel, it's my go to winter boot brand but i am really disappointed in these boots. The first few wears were great, they are super comfy and warm. After about 5 wears in heavy snow, they started leaking and my feet freeze in about 10 minutes. These are quite pricy and should last longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Snow Boot This is my first pair of Sorel boots. We have had a very hard Winter so far this year and I was looking for a good sturdy boot that could take the harsh elements. I have to say this is the boot. It is comfortable and great looking. I know that I will not be slipping on the snow or ice with these boots a great investment!
Date published: 2017-03-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them. True to size I wear a 7.5 in heels/flats and an 8 in boots pretty much 100% of the time. I got an 8 in these, and they fit perfectly. I've only worn them a few times so far, so I can't speak to the wear and tear reviews, but I feel like you would have to be pretty rough on them to rip out the lace rings. I would say just be loosen them before taking them on and off rather than ripping them off. The strap that helps you pull them on and off snaps in place, so you can't rip that one off either. I could see these not being the best for someone who plans to wear constantly as their main winter boot, but for casual wear like a week skiing in the mountains, they are exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not that warm! With socks, my feet are cold even though it is 32F outside. Not minus! I walked around in the snow for 15 minutes and spent an hour in an unheated house. Toes are stiff. Not warmer than my ordinary leather boots. Very disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Boots A friend of mine ordered these boots and she let me try them on. I bought myself a size 7.5 and the fit was true to size. I was in Brian Head, UT. The temp was -2 and my feet were warm. These lovely boots are comfy & well worth the price❤

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Luv these boots! Stylish, quality built, durable, comfortable, warm!!! Bought these for a ski trip to Big Sky--they were perfect! We had quite a bit of snow on the ground with 12" added while we were there. We trudged around a bit dog-sledding, snow shoeing, sledding, and back and forth to the ski area. No snow in the boots--my feet were dry and toasty! Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish, warm boot I've wanted these boots since moving to a cold climate, and after getting them, they do not disappoint! They're very warm. Before these I was wearing rain boots in the snow. These are definitely better for cold weather! The color is a bit darker in person than online. I have the brown and red umber. The toe box is quite big even though the boot inside fits true to size. The part of the boot where the shaft meets the ankle is just a smidge tight, but I'm hoping that loosens a up over time. It's a bit difficult to tighten the laces as tightly as I would like to, just because the laces slide easily through the loops, but I'm sure I can figure out how to make it work. They're heavy, which I expected. It takes a while to get used to walking in them. I have to lift my foot up higher with each step than I would normally because the toe of the boot is large and heavy. I love the look of the fur around the top of the boot. I'm very glad I have them, and I'm happy to get to wear them over the next several winters. A friend of mine has some that have lasted 12 years!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boots I love these - they're a little small - I usually wear an 8 and needed an 8.5, but they are well made, warm, and have great grip on the bottom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional and fashionable These boots perform just as they are described. Warm, even below freezing, waterproof and comfortable. Good looking too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted and expected I've never owned a pair of Sorel before but after trudging through snow and slush in leaking boots I decided it was time to get these. I love the look, fit, and feel of these boots. You have to loosen the ties all the way to get your feet in so they aren't quick on and off. Unfortunately we have no snow so I haven't been able to wear them outside yet!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Snaps on straps Broke after 3 uses Snaps on the straps broke after 3 uses. I have to pay return shipping to have them check them out and warranty them. Doesn't seem right for an expensive pair of boots. Super warm, true to size but annoyed the snaps broke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sorels boots for life/run small though These will be my 2nd pair of Sorel winter boots, I bought my last pair 8 years ago and the traction on the bottom finally wore down, but I could still wear my 8 yr old Sorel boots for warmth and keeping dry if need be, and will hold onto them just incase. I am very rough on my boots during my Michigan winters, I shovel snow, feed the deer and birds, play outside with my dogs all winter long, sled, and deal with lots and lots of mud, but my feet are always toasty WARM and DRY in my Sorel winter boots. These boots do seem to run on the small side, I am usually a 7/7.5, I ordered a 7.5 and they are too tight and my toes go right to the very tip, so I am sending them back for a size 8 and hope they fit, snow is coming our way next week and I will need them so badly! The ONLY winter boots I buy for my family are SORELS, my son always wore them as a child and would last outside in the snow for hours, and if the rest of his winter wear was as warm and water-proofed as his Sorel boots were/are, he would've lasted outside all day and night! My son never complained about having cold or wet feet and the same goes for me in my Sorel boots. I just can't say enough nice things about these boots! Don't even get me started on how stylish the Joan of Ark women's boots are, I just LOVE them! Shocks me to see any bad reviews about Sorel winter boots not being warm or dry, because I have never had ANY complaints about any of our Sorel boots, ever! Sorel's are the ONLY winter boots I will ever buy for my family, they are worth every dime! I got my very stylish Joan of Ark winter boots on sale, you have to know what season to buy certain things to get a great deal, but would pay full price if I had too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from FYI I was getting annoyed with people complaining that these boots were of poor quality because the straps broke while they were putting the boots on. Just to clear things up, the "boot straps" are not meant to be tugged on so you can put your boot on! Loosen up the laces and widen the boot opening so you can put your boots on the right way. The straps are attached by snaps to the boot. It is meant to keep the fur boot liner in place so that it doesn't shift around while you're wearing the boots. The straps can be easily snapped off so the liner can be taken out and washed or air dried. If you're tugging on this strap to put your boots on, you're doing it wrong. That said, I love the look of these boots. I haven't yet worn my boots in the snow yet, but they have been worn in the rain and they keep my feet warm and dry. I've also received tons of compliments. Only con is they are a bit clunky to drive in. I also wouldn't wear these all day while running errands for fear of foot fatigue. I wear a size 6 and ordered the same. I think I could have gone half a size down, even with thicker socks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT Meant for Wide Feet I Ordered my VERY First Sorel's, During their Winter SALE.....Normally I'm a 7.5W or 8! Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm, broke twice I received these boots as a gift for Christmas this year - they're so warm and, most importantly, comfortable and waterproof. Being from and living in New England - you need a great pair of boots and these are perfect. The first pair I got were great - however, after he third time wearing them the loop on the top of the right boots came off. This is where there is a small button/snap on the top of the boot that creates a loop on both sides of the boot to help with pulling them on. When it snapped off I thought it was an easy fix, but it wasn't. It was permanently broken. I went through the process of returning them (shipping and packing - $60) to only find out I could receive a discount because they weren't able to be fixed. That's fine - great. I figured it had to be a fluke because I read nothing but great reviews and the boots were the best winter boots I ever owned. I ordered the same pair of boots for the second time. I refrained from using the loops as I figured they weren't as sturdy as they should be. However - as I went to put the boot on one day - by grabbing the fur top area- it snapped off again and broke ! Like I said - I love this boot but am very disappointed to have spent the money to return the boot only to buy another pair and have it break again !!! In the same spot. I might have to pay out of pocket to fix it - why would I own almost $200 boots that are broken ?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wouldn't recommend My mother has a pair of sorel boots that she has had forever and they look brand new. She has worn them day in and day out to split wood and shovel all winter long and they are still in great great condition. I splurged my money hoping for the same quality boot, but these boots don't compare. I have had them for 3 years and have warn them minimally, as I am not very outdoorsy I'm the winter. The heel has worn down and allows water into the boot, the overall construction of the rubber is not durable. The inserts inside the boots are also not very warm especially if you are actually standing in the snow. If you're looking for a boot just to out on, walk to the car, drive to work, and sit all day, these are the boots for you. If you're actually seeking warmth and durability for any outdoor related winter activity, I would highly suggest another boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winter Essential in northeast I bought 2 pairs -- one tobacco / one black -- love them both! I've had Sorels in the past that were too narrow -- not these. Easy and comfortable to wear out in the snow. I actually didn't find them too bulky to wear inside when I forgot my shoes. The lace up provides a nice snug fit and room at the foot to accommodate thicker socks. Fur around trim helps avoid any rubbing. Highly recommend for cold days and snow wear. Shoe size was actually true to fit -- if anything I'd order a little bigger??

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute but big After reading some reviews I ordered a 1/2 size up and they were just too big. These would be great for people with wide feet, lots of room in foot area even with thick socks. Really cute and warm. I will be exchanging.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit snug I love these boots! They are very beautiful but are a bit snug. they fit perfectly without socks but if I were to wear socks it be too tight. So if you plan on wearing sock I'd recommend to go size bigger. I'm a size 71/2 but might have been more comfortable if I'd bought a size 8

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I purchased my sorel Joan of artics the week of January 21,2017 because I needed a good, warm and reliable pair of snowboots. I never buy snow boots and wanted to invest in a good pair! Ordered these to wear on my trip to New Hampshire in all the snow and loved them until the other day back at home in RI, I went to put them on to go outside and the snap broke on the top of the boot. I spent a lot of money on these boots for them to break only using them less then a handful of times. Extremely disappointed and now if I want them fixed I won't have a pair of snowboots. For the money you spend on th we maybe you should go elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HEAVEN FOR YOUR FEET They hug your leg so well. I expected them to look cool, but the comfort of the shoe was an unexpected surprise. If you're on the fence about purchasing, go ahead and hop on over. :) They look amazing, feel amazing, really a win win.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A fashion boot, not a snow boot Do not buy these boots if you live in New England or any other area that receives a fair amount of snow. They are too short of a boot to provide any coverage when walking through deep snow. The tongue area (front) of the boot is several inches shorter than the top of the boot and cannot be completely closed. Almost immediately this area fills up with snow as you walk or stand. Deep snow easily covers the tops of the boots and soaks the fake fur trim. You're left with wet fur and wet boot interiors. The laces are slippery and do not stay tied unless double knotted. My toes were freezing when outside for only a few minutes. These are a fashion boot, not a snow boot. Buy if you want to wander clear streets after a light snow, not if you live on a farm or do any outdoor activities (including walking a dog).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sizes are narrow Boots are beautiful, and seem warm. I was happy with the speed of shipping as well. But they're so tight! They're the right length for my feet (I measured before purchase), but the widest part of the foot is so tight they cut off the circulation to my toes. They ARE the right length, so I'll just have to get a boot stretcher and hope it helps. But be warned: if you don't have NARROW width feet, these boots are going to be tight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Boots for Minnesnowta These boots are great for these icy, snowy winters we have up here in Minnesota. these are my first Sorels , I usually wear my uggs in the snow and ice and Sorels are just much more functional. I was able to walk on sheets of ice without slipping- which I was not able to before with my Uggs. They are very warm too. However, they are a bit clunky and heavy. it's not so much slip on and wear kind of boots. It's hard for me to wear them on non-snowy days as they are heavy and my days usually involve a good amount of walking. But they do the job perfectly when the weather is bad though. They do run a bit large. I normally wear 7.5 for normal shoes but 8 for boots - so I ordered the 8s since I like to wear thick socks and I have big calves and they are a little big for me. I probably could have gotten away with 7.5 or 7 even. I would say order your normal shoe size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid and comfortable Strengths Good boots, not just for show. Very water proof and seem durable and strong without excess bulk or weight. The fur rimmed liner is warm and they're easy to take on and off and are comfortable to wear for long periods. Excellent for casual walking in heavy snow. Weaknesses Not hiking boots. The insoles are thin and not the best foot support and the outside soles have poor grip, so careful walking on ice, they slide easily.
