How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Men's Caribou® Wool Boot is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 141.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Boot, until the liners wear out I ordered these boot, with the expectation, that the liners do and will, need to be replaced intermittently. So I asked the Sorel Sales Agent, to please add to the order, an extra pair of the ordinal Virgin Wool, Real Fur Cud Liners, as come standard with this boot, when purchased. When my new boots arived, I was stoked, and didn't really look at the extra liners, for some time, however - when I did, I was shocked to discover, that the liners, that I requested, were not a direct replacement for the Virgin Wool, Fur Snow Cuf...but instead, RECYCLED WOOL, MAN MADE SNOW CUF. I called Sorel to complain, they said, were so sorry, but that liner is only available with a new set of boots, and once it wears out...well toigh, you can't get a new replacent linner....This doesn't make sense to me, what so ever. I think it's deceptive business practice to not properly support what is essentially a main feature of the original.boot, that you pay a premium for. The more I rant about this, the more I'm angered. Shame on You Sorel !!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from small sizing i normally wear a 12 wide. i purchased a 13 due to not having wide widths available. that was also to tight. returned those and purchased a 14 and those fit good and are not too long where as my foot would slide when walking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally Made the Leap!! I have been looking at these boots for awhile, (3) years to be exact. I have another brand (rhymes with bug) that i THOUGHT was great until i wore these. They remind me of walking with thick socks on a cold floor. They were lighter, felt cozy enough to where all day and did not notice the 20 degree cold and rain. Which i had done this sooner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank Goodness Sorel is one of the few companies that makes a quality boot in size 15 or 16 which is what my family needs. This boot is very well made and is true to size. I have not worn it yet but can't wait until next winter to get it on.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ankle/heel slips out Not sure whom these boots were designed for, but I've tried every size close to what I would need 9 / 9.5 / 10 and even when the boot was at the point of my toe hitting the front, they were still too wide so that my heel was always slipping out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hugely Disappointed I have always worn Sorel Boots. For over 45 years they have been my go to boot when the weather is extremely cold and accumulating snows are forecasted. Been using these boots for all my hunting trips when your gear is most important for your comfort and success. I was hugely disappointed as after ordering two pairs of Caribou wool boots at two different sizes 9.5 and 10, the 9.5's one boot felt larger then the other. Upon further inspection I noticed that the left boot without the liner in had some raised rubber defects most likely contributing to the fit issue. The rubber appears to be poorly clued at the seems and is not a molded one piece and is also not steel shank rubber. Where the leather becomes one with the rubber there were raised areas that will quickly lead to decay of the overall boot. There seems to be a poor and lack of attention to detail in quality and the use of cheaper materials overall. Hence this is an imported boot and is intended for maximum production and profit. It is surely not the Sorel's from its earlier inception. Missing the Kaufman manufacturing out of Canada.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou Wool Boots I'll start with FIT. I'm a 10 in most shoes, 10.5 in some shoes, and went with a 9.5 cuz most people said they run very large. DON'T listen to these people. The 9.5 was too snug, I sent back for a 10 and that fits perfect. This is a huge boot on the outside, but not so much on the inside. Remember there's a liner boot inside the outside boot plus most people will have a heavy sock on. How some people say 1-2 sizes smaller fits is beyond me. They must have their regular size wrong and are wearing a larger size shoe than they should. Unless you plan on wearing this boot without the liner or without socks I STRONGLY recommend you order your true size. But you could go a half size up or down (max) depending on your foot and how you'd like it to fit. For some reason the 9.5 slipped on and off easier than the larger 10, but the 10 still goes on easy and comes off okay. They are a big heavy boot, so if you want a boot to work in all day everyday or for extra long hikes I'd recommend one of Sorels lighter and smaller models. They're very comfortable and warm. Quality looks great (but like most things they don't make em like they used to) I can't comment on durability as I've only had them a month. Overall a very comfortable, warm, stylish boot and I'd recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot, but runs large Love these boots! Super comfortable and very warm. Can’t comment on durability yet as I haven’t owned them very long. I originally ordered a size 10 to match my shoe size and they were way too big. I exchanged them for a size 9 and they fit perfectly with enough room for thick winter socks. Definitely size down one size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Quintessential Winter Boot Before purchasing these boots I hadn’t had a pair of winter boots since I was a kid. I had just been wearing my insulated hunting boots whenever I needed to keep warm outdoors. I decided to get these to save wear and tear on my expensive hunting boots and it was a great decision. These boots are excellent!! I received them just as the weather in MN took a sub-zero turn. Whether out shoveling snow or just running errands on cold days, my feet stay perfectly toasty no matter the conditions. The tobacco colored leather is very nice and gives them a classic look I remember from Sorel boots I had as a child and the wool liners are the fantastic...nothing beats wool! I’ve had numerous compliments on them already when wearing in public and would recommend them to anyone. They do seem to run a little large, which is actually nice to accommodate heavy socks. Very pleased with them...I only wish I hadn’t waited so long to get them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stop thinking about it and buy these I stewed and thought about buying these for an entire season. I finally bought them. I am totally satified and I feel these are worth every penny I paid for them. My advise to anyone whose keeps looking at these and thinking about buying them is—just but them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for This boot is warm in below-zero temps, well-constructed. I like the fact that you can take the liners out to dry if necessary. Bought a 1/2 size bigger to accommodate thicker winter socks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ever Caribou Growing up in Michigan, rated 2 in the country for the worst winter conditions. I have worn many types of boots over many years. These Caribou Boots are the warmest, let alone the best looking boots I have ever owned. I wood recommend these boots to anyone, that is looking to stay warm and dry during the worst conditions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from short lived I purchased a pair of these boots with the intention of wearing them for years with maybe a few new liners to keep them fresh. Well after about 4 months the right boot started to make a clicking sound when I walk, if I was in a store people would stare at me because it sounded like I have a peg leg. Now this season(13months later) my feet are freezing, my right boot liner was even frozen to the bottom of the boot when I tried to pull it out to put on my boot dryer. Today I noticed why I was having these issues, the sole has separated by my big toe on the right boot. I guess I should have looked at them closer while they were still under warranty? But, for the price of these things I didn't expect them to come apart in just a few months of actual use. I guess I'll be shopping other brands for now and would only buy another pair of these Sorel's if I can find them on a real good sale. I loved these boots but I cannot afford to buy a new pair every season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Family Tradition My father always wore Sorels for duck hunting and winter fishing. Now that I have a pair, I know why. I took my two adult boys smallmouth bass fishing for three days after Christmas in 12 degree weather. Both boys had good boots on but they did not compare to the Sorels. Without a doubt these are the best winter boots built. They were for my fathers generation, they are for my generation, and they will be for my sons generation. Thank you for a product that can be used by multiple generations. A rarity in today’s market.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from LOVE THEM Around 20 + years ago I purchased a pair of SOREL PACBOOTS that are rated for 100 BELOW. They were a popular style and copied by other brands but I do not see them on this web site. I have stored them in the garage every year - year around - and several winters I wore them often but they were just too warm for my feet -- even at SUB ZERO temps -- I STILL HAVE THEM and they are still in almost as good of shape as when I first got them. Last year I purchased these CARIBUE boots. They LOOK GREAT - Unique in the redish brown color - and the are not temp rated for 100 below so that is good. I only wore them a couple of times last year but praying for a awesome winter this season to get my use out of them before Global Warm makes them obsolete. This new pair LOOK GREAT FEEL GREAT WEAR COMFORTABLY AND I RECOMMEND THEM.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product That Lasts I purchased my first Sorel boot almost 30 years ago and wore them every winter. They are still in good shape today but wanted a new boot and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. Quality that lasts and a recognizable name.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There’s snow way I’m taking them off... I received these boots as an early Christmas present due to the arrival of a winter storm in Northeast Pennsylvania. After childishly wearing them around the house both my lovely girlfriend, myself, and our pooch took them out for a stroll in the snow. With the roads closed, and snow a-fallin’ my toes stayed warm and dry - I even walked in puddles. I normally wear a size 9.5 in nearly every sneaker and boot, but luckily I read the reviews and ordered a smaller size. My foot measured exactly 26cm and I ordered the 8.5. The full size down was the way to go for me and the fit was spot on. I can’t thank my girlfriend enough for these warm boots. They feel great and look good too!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product nees some adjustments The boot was way too big and the wool patting constantly pulled on my leg hairs as I walked. Walking 15 with them was painful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful quality! I bought these shoes, because my feet are very cold. Hoped for the Canadian roots of the brand. But for the second winter the rubber part of the shoes cracked! And they no longer hold the heat and worse, they began to leak! I did not expect this from Sorel! Waste of money! It is natural that as with a guarantee it is not clear! Extremely do not recommend these shoes, if you do not want to freeze your legs! I hope my review will help you make the right choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou Wool Boot Omg!! I love these boots. I have never invested in really good boots before and these are awesome! I live in South Dakota and it has been down to 38 below. While shoveling the snow my feet never got cold and I didn't slip and slide. So happy that I bought these boots!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the Boot, Way Too Big I bought these boots as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. Before I complain, these shipped fast and were delivered on the exact day promised which was great. I read the reviews for this boot which informed me that I should stick to his true size in all other shoes, which I did. Unfortunately, the size 14 ordered for him was too large to the point of comical- he needs about two sizes smaller then his normal shoe. I wish i was aware of this before purchasing. This may be due to the very large size requested but buyer beware. I will be returning for a smaller size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs Large - No Better Snow Boot Out There The other reviews will tell you about how well the boot will actually function. My guess is that most are interested in fit. I'm a solid 13 on my left foot but barely a 12.5 on my right. I purchased the 12 as a happy middle ground and the fit is great. I can wear them with a thin dress sock (say, to clear the snow off the car) and the boots won't pull off, even if not laced. For longer outside activities, a mid-weight hiking sock moderates the fit based on my different foot sizes well. Super warm; very well made.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love the boots, but..... Boots were exactly as pictured, and my husband loved them! Unfortunately the were a whole size too big. He's a size 11 in all shoes including boots. I would suggest trying them on before purchase. (As they are very expensive to ship back for an exchange.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great warm boots! I have these to my husband as a Christmas gift and he wore them outside while snow blowing our yard in a snow storm yesterday and he came in and said his boots rocked! He was comfortable and his feet stayed warm and dry for the couple of hours he was out there. 5)36 looked cute on him too :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boots, but not the laces. Boots arrived recently, fit is firmish but perfect when laced up. They are true to size, very light and comfortable. I expect that they will wear into an even better fit. Regrettably I consider that the laces are extremely low quality (rubbish) and I have thrown them away and used high quality ones in their place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made with love and true to size. You can tell right away these boots are made with a whole lotta love. The quality is spot on. My only regret is not keeping them. For what these boots are designed for, my needs were much simpler. I was looking for a boot I could use when sledding, playing outside with the kids, shoveling. These boots need to be in the artic! (Or somewhere other than a suburb outside Chicago). Nonetheless, an excellent, excellent boot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice boots, but very heavy Love the look, and the leather seems pretty top notch. I normally wear a 9.5 but ordered a 9 and that seemed to fit just fine. However the boot is pretty heavy. I will be using them for normal city wear and will most likely not be outdoors in the snow for hours on end. I am opting for one of the lighter models and will be returning these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mens Caribou I received the 11.5 size I ordered, thinking it I would need an additional .5 inch to allow for heavy socks. After receiving the boots and trying them on with heavy socks, I found the 11.5 too large. I would recommend when ordering, that you order the exact size as the boots seem to run big enough to accommodate the heavy socks. Maybe the 1964 series run somewhat small and the .5 increase will be necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Awesome boot but the sizing is way off. Third times a charm. Usually size 11 ended up with 9.5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou woohoo! Highest level craftsmanship! Fits large. I normally wear a 10, bought the 9.5 after having bought a pair of 9.5 Sorel mad desert II leather casual boots (that I love!) last year and probably should have bought a size 9 in these caribou. I think over time, they will wear in and fit well, bit a little big at the start with thick wool socks. The lace eyelets make these super easy on and off compared to the 1964 or cvs. Super warm, super stylish. Looking forward to using these for the next 25+ years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them! Did my first feeldtest yesterday and im very happy. Snow and -17c in the forrest outside Stockholm, Sweden. I would like to find a flat (and a molded) sole that fits (in 100% wool), though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from definitely a keeper Kept my boyfriend's feet warm for New Year's in Quebec. Waterproof. They do run large though, so size down accordingly. He is a true 10M and got a size 9. The toes fit right, but he said it was snug in the sides of his feet, but we were told that since it is highly padded, to wear them around the house and the boot would mold to his feet. Lo and behold, they did and 9 fits just right now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase! I bought this for my fiance because he's from Arizona. He loved them because we were spending the Holidays in frigid Minnesota. Although our December here was a bit mild this year, he claims his feet were never cold! After two weeks of regular wear these boots are wonderful. He looks forward to seeing how they hold up to the future years in Minnesota winters!
