How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE My husband is in love with these boots. He was looking for a cold weather boot and I talked him into trying these. He's glad he listened to me (for once). He wanted to buy a size bigger so he could wear extra socks but I convinced him to buy his regular size telling him he wouldn't need extra socks (of course I was right again). These are great cold-weather boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 45 Years & Still Going Strong I really splurged to get a pair of these in about 1973 to use for deer hunting. Since then I've used them every year for this, and also to get to and from work and for doing other running around during times of heavy snows. So I don't use them until conditions really call for them, which is probably one reason why they've lasted this long. I have finally worn out the original liners now, and am ordering a new set, but other than that, the only fail is that the pull loop on the back of one of the boots has broken. Even with the thick liner, I do usually use the chemical toe warmers on really cold days when sitting on a deer stand for hours, and that's fine. One smart thing I did do originally was to deliberately buy one size larger than I need so that I can wear an extra set of heavy wool socks with the boots, and still have some wiggle room for my toes. Also, I purchased them in a local boot store, and was able to try them on before I bought them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BOOTS 35+ YEARS OLD What can I say? My Caribou boots are 35 yrs plus old. I started wearing these boots somewhere between 8-10 yrs old and now I'm in my mid 40's looking for a new pair. For the first 10 yrs of owning the boots I used mink oil 2-3 times. The craftsmanship is EXCELLENT. After all these years I replaced the liners 3x. The leather that holds the rings for lacing the boots finally gave out after all these years (these are the only things that need repair). In all these years my feet never got wet. WOW!! The only 2 faults I can see in the boot are these 2 things: You need to try the boot on in store before ordering (boot size and feet size were very different). The second fault is warmth. The wool liners did not keep my feet warm in Minnesota winters (depending on activities or temp I always used a warmer and shoved it down into my boot). The only real issue was the warmth. If you know that your going to be outside for an extended period and/or on the ice your going to have to do something to keep your feet warm (several layers of sox and/or a warmer). After all these years I am now looking for another pair. I would like to try one of the pairs like the 1964 or the Pac boots but the Caribou are tried and tested. If anything lasts 30 years you would be dumb not to buy the same thing again. Sorel puts out an excellent product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent boots I bought these boots to finally replace the Sorel boots that I have had for over 25 years. My old ones were just wore out and I hated to part with them but I am si glad I did. Hopfully these will last as long as my old ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Second Pair I bought my first pair about 10 years ago. That in and of itself is impressive! I love these boots. They are workhorses and look great. I first noticed that ski lift operators were wearing them so I figured they must be warm. They are the best. My liners are starting to wear a little bit and could probably only get another season out of the. The replacement liner right now was hard to find and when I saw these on sale, there was no way I wasn't going to buy them. From now on I will always have a new pair ready and waiting if I start to see them going. Can not be without them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect gift I’m give this boots to my husband and he felts in love with my and the boots!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crack I have had these boot for about 3-4 years. I only really wear them during snowy days, so I estimate I have worn them about 20 times and now there is a 1.5 inch crack on the rubber near the big toe. The crack goes through and, of course, render the boots not waterproof and pretty worthless. I really have not worn these boots enough for this problem to happen. Reading other reviews this seems to be an issue with many others too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boot Ever! No really!!! I usually pass on writing reviews, regardless of any offers to do so, but had to write about my Sorel Caribou boots. We just returned from a trip to New Hampshire, BURRRRR!, and I was skeptical to see if this boot lived up to all of the prior positive reviews. Well, not only did it live up to the hype, but made me a Sorel customer for life. I've had previous experience with freezing temps and cold feet, and these did the job. Not only were they waterproof in deep snow, but they actually made my feet extremely toasty. Thanks Sorel. Simple the best boot ever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots! These boots are absolutely fantastic for Montana winters, and they keep me very warm. I have not had the chance to try them out in anything below -10 degrees F, but they have performed exceptionally in conditions up to that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cracks in lower section rubber after 2 years I was surprised to see both boots springs inch long cracks at the flex point in the front of the boot (the area above where someone would have a bunion). Because the boots are worn minimally and were only 2 years old, I called and asked about the warranty policy on them, especially after reading so many other reviews with the same problem. I was informed that because they were more than one year old that there was no longer anything they could do for a warranty. Apparently one years worth of wear is all they think these will stand up to... I also asked if the same rubber is used for all of their Caribou boots, and she couldn't say. Regardless, I won't be taking any more chances of a new pair giving out after only a couple of seasons, and I wouldn't recommend you taking a chance on these either. I'm headed over to LL Bean for next seasons boots apparently. At least they'll stand behind their product...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe I ordered a pair of these boots for my husband and son-in-law for a ski trip. The boots arrived very quickly and in time for their trip ! Both my husband and son-in-law say the boots are comfortable, warm and perfect for the deep snow!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great but rubber does not last. After about a year, worn about 18 times, the rubber section of the Caribou men's boots developed cracks in the area that bends when walking. The resultant hole is about 4" long. Several other reviews of your boots also cite this condition. (I received no incentive for this comment and am not interested in any sweepstakes or gift card.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first pair of dedicated winter boots I've been searching for boots for a while, and actually consulted friends in Montréal about which brand they suggested to combat their -40°C/F winters, and Sorel came up as the first name. After ordering two pairs of different sizes and returning the one that was a little too large, these are now perfectly comfortable after just a few days of wearing them, and my toes have never been warmer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these boots. These boots are warm in our current sub-zero temperatures. They fit nicely-I wear 9.5-10, but purchased size 9 due to the reviews stating they run a little large. They are easy to put on and take off, and the color is pleasant to boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boot Ever! These are the hardiest, warmest boot! The fit can be tricky because they run big. I wear a 9 and bought an 8. The 8 fits perfect. I also suggest using the method of determining your size that is on the website. Customer service is great also. They will help to make sure you have the right fit. I also suggest snow sealing them. That will just give them a little extra protection. At that point, you have the greatest boot ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all the way These boots are warm, foot dry, and just plain enjoyable. The snow isn't real deep yet but it is cold! I do wear a heavy sock but I'm warm until I take them off. New, no complaints about material or construction. Sorel boots are the boots I have wanted for a very long time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First snow storm and these boots are great The boots are high enough to stomp through a fresh half a foot of snow. They're warm and comfortable. The laces stay laced and tight for support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still manly but with a flair This is my 2nd pair and they are truly wonderful in the snow. Really warm and they keep me dry. My only complaint from the first pair are they randomly slip and slide on tiled loors. I’m in NYC and I know I can’t walk quickly because I could hit the floor when in the subways. They can’t be beat for the sidewalks and puddles tho. I might have grips put on the soles tho.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Excellent boot but not true to size I recently just bought these boots for myself. I typically wear a size 9.5-10 in normal everyday shoes (mainly Nike) so I thought I would also order these boots in a 9.5, since it's ratings were "True to size". Needless to say, these boots are not true to size. I tried them on once they arrived and they were at least whole size bigger. I was kind of bummed out because the next day it snowed and I wanted to wear these boots but I couldn't since I was returning these for a 8.5 size. The boot itself was great and a boot that will live up to its word but just too small. Now, patiently waiting for my new size boots to arrive!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great winter boots! These boots are very heavy duty and will probably get you through any harsh weather conditions. The design is also very fashionable. You not only look good but feel good because they are comfortable to wear all day as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big man boot As a big man I need a size 15 wide and the Sorell site is the only place to find it! I actually reordered the boot in a 16 so I could double up socks when dog sledding. The felt inner boot is sure to keep the toes toasty but I still like the added cushion. The lower part of the boot is completely waterproof and the tall upper provides the added ankle and leg support for walking on icy terrain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winter warmth and comfort! I have been wearing Sorel boots for over 15 years. These are the only boots I will wear for the tough Upstate NY Winters. We get a lot of snow and icy cold temps. They have always kept my feet warm and dry, even when trudging through the deep snow while snowshoeing or just shoveling the driveway! Highly recommend these boots to everyone.
