Rated 5 out of 5 by from ankeny boots love the boots. I now have 6 pair because I will not be able to buy them anymore

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great comfortable boots These are great boots, very comfortable and decent durability. I use them as work boots and am in them almost every day hiking off trail on a variety of terrains. After a year and a half plus of almost constant use the side panels needed repair but because of their construction this was an easy job for a cobbler. The tread is great on everything except wet rock. It will still hold but special attention should be made to your footing. I bought three pairs of these boots so i can use them for years to come. Excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boot I work for the parks dept and needed a new pair of boots for working in the rain and sun that were comfy and light. These are really great and they feel like sneakers. Will be ordering another pair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My feet thank you. I have super duper wide Barney Rubble feet and so I have the hardest time finding any and every kind of footwear. And I have NEVER had any luck with rain or snow boots...tol' now. Not only do the keep my feet toasty and dry but they fit like a dream. Can't recommend them enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots I love the design and quality of these Sorels.I have crazy narrow feet and these do feel a bit wide in the toe zone but still quite comfy with an arch insert. will only buy Sorels now. Other Sorels fit me more snug than these...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ankeny Mid Boot I bought these boots for my husband, who detests shopping and spending money. We were surprised to see how hip these boots look, and the fit is wonderful. He likes that they are comfortable and waterproof; I like that they make his size 14 foot look smaller. Great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent boot by quality company My husband was in need of some warm boots on a trip to NY and we came across these boots. He is missing half his right foot, so finding comfy footwear can be difficult. Needless to say, he put them on and walked the city with me for almost three full days! Best boot he’s ever worn since his amputation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's what is says on the tin Having been through a number of "waterproof" shoes, it was refreshing to see these keep my feet perfectly dry during a wet nor'easter recently as well as during the inevitable surprise puddles I've stepped in. These boots are the best-looking waterproof boots I've had. Only odd design choice was using a different color leather for the Black/Tobacco version, but it still looks great overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My most liked shoes for the last couple years! These shoes fit like a glove. Look exceptionally good with jeans. Quite rugged and as they have gotten old, I have started putting them to rough use at house rehab projects that I undertake. I have ordered a new pair to replace them just today 2018-02-23.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Glue not holding Love the style of these boots and they are extremely soft and comfortable. Great for walking. My only issue is the glue not holding on to the rubber on the front toe box. I only wore these 3x since they are only for rain and snow. I can see the glue is giving way and the rubber is lifting. For well over 100.00 I would expect more. The important part here is that they were worn 3x. Purchased 2018

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ankeny's Are Comfortable & Built To Last I have tested them out, and I found that they are entirely waterproof. They are comfortable and inviting, and you most definitely will get complements. The soles are successfully structured for increased traction. Solid boots @ $140.00. These boots are a great value!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible comfortable, super stylish Review for the black ones only. Great utility boots you can dress up or down. Super lightweight but durable and tough. Take them on a backpacking trip, through a hostel, or a club. Hiking or out to a restaurant. Super versatile. Only thing is laces don't grip well and don't stay tied all the time. Best attributes are comfortability, versatility, and quality durability.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waterproof technology? Seriously! It’s a total FAIL. Sorry, for being mean . I am totally disappointed of my purchase. The build quality seems awesome. The design literally made me purchase them.waterproof technology is a massive fail for those boots . Sorry, SOREL . I didn’t wanted to write it but your waterproof technology couldn’t handle the water from getting inside. I bought it for the winter , seeing the WOTERPROOF TECHNOLOGY label. The first two times I felt my socks wet , I thought my feet’s were sweating, there’s nothing wrong with the boots .i didn’t wanted to accept the fact that SORELS waterproof technology would go wrong . How come my feet sweat on a cold and wet day ? Why don’t my feet sweats in a dry day? All right it’s not waterproof at all , I understood . SOREL used to say that it’s good for a rainy day but they removed it now . It just only say for casual use but still says waterproof technology . If it’s for casual use why the waterproof lebel is still there ? Those are just normal boots nothing special about them rather than the design . I surely, wouldn’t have purchased them if it wouldn’t have said the waterproof technology. I wanted to purchase more from sorel but since I have a very unpleasant experience,I don’t know if I am going to purchase more from them . I can’t even step on a wet surface or even a cm of snow which makes feet wet . It looks like water leaks in from the bottom of the boots not from the sides. Now the boots smells rotten. Great . Now,I have to say the design of their boots are eye catching . Lastly , thanks SOREL for coming out with some impressive designs. Loved the look of your boots but not the waterproof technology.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2 outta 3 Love this company. These are my 3rd pair of boots I’ve purchased. Unfortunately these are the worst of the 3. They don’t keep your feet warm at all. They have horrible traction on slick surfaces. The laces come unhooked after a short time. Great looking comfortable boots but to many other issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent all round. Straight out of the box these boots were comfortable and fantastic to walk in. They are built for active use - I have walked miles on pavement and off in them - but I can also wear them into the office. They definitely run true to size, have a comfortably roomy toe box, and high quality construction. I am extremely pleased with the product and would recommend them to anyone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality, fell apart Style-wise, these boots are hard to beat. Perfect look for a rainy city. Unfortunately, I can't recommend them. They fell apart in about 3 months of light use, which is unacceptable for $150 boots (or any price, really). I never hiked in them, only some walking in a city. The build is obviously very poor quality. The rubber on the toe cracked and peeled on both shoes, making them useless in the rain. Even before those broke, they were not at all water resistant. The stitching along both heel-cups also completely ripped, leaving the shoe in almost 2 pieces. This seems like a design flaw in addition to poor build quality, as there is not enough flexibility in the back of the boot when you bend your ankle, so it puts excessive strain on those seams. I really wanted to like these shoes! They look amazing (until they fall apart), and they were pretty comfortable. It's a shame the quality was so poor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from These boots will probably fall apart This is my second attampt at trying these boots. As others have mentioned, they're extremely comfortable and they look great. However, as others have also mentioned, the adhesive holding the rubber toe caps to the shoe will fail. This happened on both pairs I owned. My current pair is just under 1 year old and the stitching on both boots has begun to fail, causing the uppers to fall apart. With the abundance of poor reviews pointing out similar design flaws, I'm surprised they still sell these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Boot - watch sizing! This is an awesome boot for hiking or any outdoor activity. It holds up on dirt, rocks, mud, snow, and pretty much anything in between. It is sturdy, comfortable, completely waterproof, and has a simple, tidy look about it. I love it. The only thing to be weary of is the sizing- this boot runs about a size and a half large. I wear an 11.5 in nearly every shoe I own and have owned, but the 11.5 Ankeny was just so loose on me it was unwearable. I had to go all the way down to a 10. Be aware the fit is also sightly wider than most other boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot for slush and mud Love these boots, I have had them about a year and have been really happy with them. I would not consider them a winter boot though, they are not insulated that much like some of the other reviews have mentioned. But I have actual insulated boots for when it gets down into the single digits. where these boots really shine is in the slush, rain and mud. Great grip and completely water proof. I actually like that they are not that insulated so I can still wear them in the summer when it is wet and muddy. cant beat these boots for any wet conditions and especially when its slushy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sorel Ankeny-- style, comfort and practicality! I got these boots for Xmas and have worn them almost everyday since as we've had frigid temperatures and lots of snow here in the northeast. I got these boots specifically for style as most waterproof winter boots are ugly clodhoppers intended for a snowmobile, but these boots are lower profile but also durable and practical. The leather upper is durable and the and sole grips the ice nicely. While the boot fits true to size, I have 2 minor complaints-- first, the toe box is larger than needed as I still have plenty of room even with the thickest sock and because the toe box is bigger, my feet got colder faster than in other boots (maybe it was the negative temps?). So after a few weeks and several wears, I am more than satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice boot but won’t stay tied Boots are great but laces are worthless as they won’t stay tied. First day I wore them I kept tripping over laces that won’t stay tied!!! I am thinking about returning them to the manufacturer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boot for rainy fall I was counting on this boot to be much warmer. It turned out to be lighter than I expected. I am from Kazakhstan, but studying in Houston, TX. Took it back to Kazakhstan in the winter and made a mistake. Now, enjoying it in the Texas winter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wear for the worse In my second season of mild suburbia yard work the quick hook lace restraint as well as another lace restraint broke off, ripping out of the leather. Poor leather quality allowed the rivotted hook and rivotted lace restraint to tear through. Too bad as the boots are extremely comfortable and look great. Another defect is with the mastic or adhesive on the rubber toe cap slowly coming apart at the edges/sides during first year of use. My wife and I own multiple pairs of Sorels and these just don't make the cut. Was looking for a less bulky snow boot to my Sorel Conquest (2nd pair) of which my first pair lasted over 10 years! Very disappointed in the Mid Ankeny as an every day, fall/winter/spring melt, durable, waterproof, multi purpose boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 3rd pair And won’t be my last. Really is the best boot I’ve ever had. A little care and they will hold up for a long time in light rain and snow. I like them because it’s a comfortable work boot that has enough style to get me to a business lunch as well as put up with the hard walking of City life.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good...but not Sorel First and foremost, I love and believe in Sorel products. This particular boot just didn't live up. Within no time, the rubber top cap separated from the shoe at the sides, which allows water in. So waterproof they are not (at least not for long). Second, due to the quick-lace hooks, they are always coming untied. You have to ties them tight to keep this from happening...and because of needing to pull them through the quick-lace hooks so hard, they break through laces right and left. As far as comfort, they are as good as Sorel usually is...it's just the fine-details that aren't up to par for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I usually do not wear boots as the fit can be difficult. these boots are perfect. I have just purchased my 2nd pair. I currently have the green and get lots of compliments on them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality I bought these for my husband and surprised him. He LOVES them and I am very very impressed by the quality of the boots. Up close the quality of the design and the materials that make up this boot are even more stunning. The pictures online dont do this boot justice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Camper These boots are awesome, needless to say I am very satisfied with my purchase. You can go kick rocks and not worry about these bad boys falling apart!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great well made shoe This above the ankle boot fits perfectly the first time you where them. They slip right on without spreading or tugging. The best thing is how perfectly the heal fits, and holds it in place without slipping up and down, even when laces are untied. Probably the best boot I have ever had, and I have had many good fitting boots, as a builder, and a Sportsman?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective Rubber toe cap separated from leather upper and then stitching separated after only a month of wear. Wore them daily and were really my favorite shoe/boot for everyday wear. Noticed other reviews ab out similar defect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I saw these boots in Lord and Taylor's on my way to another shoe store looking for some boots and tried these on and feel in love with them. Came home and bought them right then. Have been wearing them everyday it's rained since I got them and they hold true to the statement of being waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots I bought these boots last year for my husband, he works outside and walks all day long as a delivery man. These boots are warm and weatherproof throughout the long and cold Chicago winters. They're stylish and durable for everyday use. My husband loves these boots we bought a second pair this year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted These boots are wonderful! I work in retail and was looking for a boot that I could wear to shovel the driveway and not have to change out of. They're super light and the footbed is comfortable for all day wear, and by all day wear I mean eight hours on my feet. An unexpected, but happy, occurrence are all the compliments I've gotten on them! Everyone who has seen them says how nice they look and asks where I got them. Considering I bought them online without trying them on, I'm quite pleased. I rated them as "fits slightly large" because that's how I like to wear my shoes. Especially when I have to be on my feet for hours in end and they can swell, I haven't had any problems. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth It I have put these through a full year of abuse with low to no maintenance and I am impressed! From spending days hiking in the rain, walking through mud or snow, these have held up and show little wear. I have been satisfied enough to purchase every color so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These things are SICK I have recently bought these online, and I love them. They are very comfortable and very stylish my friends all want some now. I have gone on a couple of hikes with them and they seem very durable. Ive gone through water and they stay true to what they say. They are waterproof. The only thing that I wish was a little better is, I wish that they had a little more padding on the bottom. They seem very thin

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots The boots are awesome they are water proof. Great boots for rain, cold and snow. Good weight and look, you can wear them everywhere. You don't feel like you need to take off your big snow boots when you get somewhere.Comfortable for the whole day including a lot of walking. I would recommend getting a good insole if you are wearing them most of your day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great All Around Boots I use the Mid Hikers primarily for outdoor work and they perform well. They keep my feet dry and have excellent ankle support. I've also taken to wearing them to sporting events here, where it's park and hike. Very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smashing through snow. Been wearing them for 2 weeks, got around 10 inches of snow and running errands is a breeze. Not having to dodge puddles, slush, and snow and not worrying about your feet makes a difference. Toe is wide but desirable for heavy sox and smashing through snow. Aesthetically pleasing, received several compliments. Next up black ones. 2cND pair of Sorel boots in as many years, I'll keep buying them to suit my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, good style Super comfortable, so far a good foul weather boot that doesn't look/feel like I am going snowshoeing. Works for me to get from home in the mountains to office, through mud and snow. I love sorel in general for style, fit, and function.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3 years and still going strong I love these boots. My first pair were in brown. I just love the style and haven't been able to find any other boots that I've liked as much. The next year I bought them in black to have options. The toe box is a bit wide, which would be my only real complaint. In order to get a good fit I had to add an insole, but once added they have fit me perfectly. I would assume not everyone would have this issue as I just have smaller feet. The leather is beautiful and has aged really well. For the first 2 years they still looked brand new. The sole has barely any wear on it, it has held up nicely. The rubber on the front and back of the boot has not began to fall off on either of my pairs despite a lot of use and some negative reviews from others on this point. Although I do expect he rubber to eventually come loose, but it doesn't bother me because when that day comes, I'll simply use some leather adhesive and adhere the rubber back to its snug position again. This boot is not a perfect boot, due to its large toe box, although I suspect some will appreciate this, but for the price and quality its a fantastic pair of footware to have around.
