How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Men’s Ankeny™ Boot is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I was eyeing these up for awhile but never pulled the trigger. Mainly because I couldn’t decide on the color. Well my girlfriend got me the green pair for Christmas and I couldn’t be happier. We’ve had some extreme cold since the holiday and I must say with one pair of socks my feet stayed pretty dry and warm, I know the lack of insulation is a common complaint with these style of boots but I haven’t had any problems. I’m still in the break-in period but it doesn’t feel like it. They fit well, no hard spots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boot I had to return the first pair as they were a full size too small. I am a true 9 and I ended up getting a 10. With a boot sock it is a perfect fit. They are comfortable, no running, and warmer than I expected.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor construction I received the boots, two days ago and have been using them for 2 days. Mind you, I use them to go to the dog park, needed something that could be rinsed off in case of stepping in some dog poo. No heavy using, light use only. The sole started to come off! It's only been two days!!!!!!!!! These boots are not what I was expecting. The problems with the boots have completely put me off this company, will never buy a Sorel product again!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men Ankeny boots I work outside for a living and the sorel boots are excellent in heavy or light rain.Very comfortable also .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Waterproof I bought these because they were good looking. I used them when watching my kid's sporting events in inclement weather. The bottom sole separated from the shoe. It happened on the right and the left boot. I bought them about 2 years ago and have worn them about 25-30 times to stand around in the rain and watch soccer. Disappointed, really thought they looked good...but they are not well made and they are not waterproof. It appears several other reviewers encountered the same issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Quality - Not at all water tight This is the 2nd pair of these boots I have bought. The first pair had the same problem where it started coming apart at the seems and my foot would be drenched if walking on rainy or snowy day. I gave the boot another chance as Moosejaw replaced the faulty boots(plural) but the same thing happened within 3 weeks of owning the boot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Painful to Wear Hate to write a poor review, but these boots just aren't working out for me. There is a part of the boot on the interior, where the lower sole of the boot is joined with the upper leather part (technical boot terms unknown). The lower part is really stiff, and the upper more supple. You can feel this on the inside of the shoe, and the lower stiff part is cuts into my foot -- painful to wear :( Tried w heavier socks but to no avail. I'll likely try to return them, but who knows if they accept returns of boots worn once or twice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I have had these for a week and wore them twice, so I can't really speak to their durability. However, I have two pairs of Sorels, a pair of Caribous and these. I love the Caribous, but they are so HEAVY. They are great in heavy snow, but again so heavy. Yesterday I wore the Ankeny's for 12 hours straight, and forgot that I was even wearing boots. Very light and comfortable. I have read the reviews on their lack of being waterproof, and that may be a concern. Once or twice I thought I may have felt moisture, but didn't really have enough snow or rain to give that a fair review. Overall I'm very happy with them, and thrilled with their light weight and comfort. Will update in the future if I have any quality issues.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A menu boots Not a boot I would recommend. The quality is excellent but the fit is not. The end of the lower rubber shell where it is stitched to the leather upper is positioned such that it digs into the underside of my ankle. This makes the boot highly uncomfortable to wear. Either lowering the height of the rubber shell slightly or increasing the height above the ankle would be a great improvement. I highly recommend spending some time walking around the store with these on before purchasing them. I don't recommend buying them directly off the internet without ever trying them on like I did.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sole falling off loved the style but after 6 months of wearing on and off the sole glue gave out and separated making the shoe unwearable.Spend your money on another brand as I am going to do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great except not waterproof I got a pass to the Columbia employee store and these boots seemed like they would be really good. Considering the rubber bottoms and being designed for wet I assumed they would be totally waterproof. Finally decided to try them out with a 3 hour hike in the Columbia Gorge through snow and creeks etc., and found out they are only waterproof up to about 1/2 of the way up where the tongue separates from the rest. I just assumed that they would have the tongue connected like a normal waterproof boot, but found out the hard way while going through a stream. Pretty lame to spend the guest pass on these and have them not be waterproof all the way up, and to find it out in the middle of a hike. I didn't expect these to be great hiking boots but I did expect them to be waterproof bottom to top. Fix that for next year and they would get four-five stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SOGGY SOCKS I wear these boots in mild weather, just like the boot's intended use says and my feet get instantly soaked. just walking to my vehicle in rain, my inside insoles on both boots gets immediately damp, wet and cold. so disspointed in the two boots I've purchased for sorel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice boots! I wear size 11 1/2 but after reading some of the reviews i ordered a size 12. Very happy I did as they would have been too short. The boots are very nice but definitely not meant for extreme cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Casual Shoe for MILD Weather This shoe is a very stylish way to compliment a rainy fall wardrobe. It is not sold as a hiking or "winter" boot! It is perfect for kicking around in on the weekends and yet stylish enough for church. Sorel sells many other excellent insulated "winter" boots. Ask yourself what the purpose of these boots are---if you need snow shoes---buy boots! These are meant to be shoes people!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not warm The boot fit is a bit small and there were a couple of areas on the inside that chewed up my feet. After loosening the laces and some wearing in they fit much better and didn't have that issue. This is a very nice looking boot with a relatively low profile and can be worn anywhere. This boot however is not insulated AT ALL. I walk to the train (1.7) for work and on several occasions when I got to the station my feet were painfully frozen- I live in Chicago. Anything under 20 degrees maybe even 30 your feet will suffer. These boots are good for rainy days and mild winter weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good boot that won't break the bank. A lot of people seem to be complaining that this boot is not as waterproof as they'd like. I think perhaps these people are a little confused about where the moisture in the boot might actually be coming from. Many boots can be called waterproof (and the ANKENY are perfectly water tight) but what they aren't is BREATHABLE. Feet sweat and unless there is some way for the moisture to escape, it will build up inside of your shoes. You might say that a boots water proofing can be proven by the amount of perspiration you find in your socks when you take the boots off. If you want water proof boots that aren't prone to persiration build up, spend $600+ on some Zamberlans or another hand made Italian boot brand. It is easy enough if you've little or no experience with wearing hiking boots, snow boots or even gum boots to confuse the moisture in your shoes as leakage. But it isn't. A good way to tell the difference is to remember that leakage would leave your foot very COLD not merely damp. I like these boots and as I have 40 years experience wearing different kinds for hiking, climbing, walking and working, I feel I am more than sufficiently qualified to recommend these as both water proof and well worth the money. They look quite nice too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waterproof...winter boots...NOT! I had a pair of Caribou boots that I used in Colorado for 4 years, they were great and I gave them to my Dad. He still has them and uses then today. Unfortunately my confidence in the brand has been undermined by my experience with the Ankeny boots I purchased in December. They seemed to have little if any insulation so I wasn't expecting a warm boot for extreme weather conditions. The main reason I bought the boots was because of the waterproofness. Since I commute on my bike year round in all kinds of weather I was hoping at the very least I would have a go-to boot for bad weather. On the first slushy ride of the year I wore the boots and the inside got very damp. What was most surprising about this was there was little rain beyond a light drizzle. Since they were new and this did not make sense I chalked the experience up to errant foot perspiration, even though my feet felt cool. I soon discovered that it was in fact the boots. There seems to be a critical design flaw in the boots. I was so desperate to halt the intrusion of water I tried a spray on waterproofer. This did not seem to work either. This started to really confound me. How were the boots permeable. After retreating the boots and still having wet feet I was dumbfounded. It wasn't until I started to really examine the boots centimeter by centimeter that I discovered both of the soles had small sections where they had separated from the rubber galvanized uppers. I considered returning them but this would have left me bootless during the coldest point of the entire winter (even if they were not waterproof). Unfortunately they are not warm either, even with a merino wool liner and wool boot sock my feet froze below 30 degrees. These boots are the WORST I have ever had. I bought a pair of "Timberlook" boots from the dollar store for $20 last winter and they lasted me the whole winter and gave out in spring. But they actually looked pretty good, they kept my feet warm and were actually waterproof...best $20 I ever spent. Too bad they didn't have them this year, I would have warm and dry feet, just maybe not as nice looking...but I would sure take it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from water issues I bought these for myself for chirstmas at the sorel store on 14th and 9th ave in nyc, after using them in the snow twice, water started seeping in through the boots. I'm extremely disappointed with these boots. Poor quality. Id never buy sorel again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely poor quality These boots look great, feel great, grip well, and fall apart in 3 months. I live in chicago. I'd say I've walked in the snow about a mile a day. 5 days a week. These boots soles are falling off. I have had $5 Walgreens Flip Flops last longer. Don't waste your money on these boots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality assurance and durability The first pair I received, one of the rivets popped out the first time I laced them up right out of the box. The second pair lasted longer, but I lost 2 of the rivets within 2 months. Finally, the upper detached from the sole less than 3 months and my foot got soaked from the snow and melt. I can't ever recall owning a shoe that fell apart so quickly. Of course - there's several feet of snow and water on the ground, and now I have to scramble to find replacements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Shoe is All You Size: -Men's 7.5 size foot of normal size width. Fit: -I ordered my true size and the shoe fits fine. Color: -Elk, Stout Pros: 1) Weather proof for the outdoors 2) Casual look for the indoors 3)The inside of the shoe is designed for all degrees of weather. It is not lined with any of the heavier heat capturing material like a lot of other brands of duck boots and so it doesn't make your feet sweat when you wear thicker socks for cold weather. 4) I can wear any type of sock that fit to the occasion without worry because that little part of material on the back-top of the shoe prevents any blisters or irritation on the back of my foot or around the top of the ankle. Con: 1) I wish I had bought these a long time ago.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ankeny Left boot causes signifant discomfort and blistering. Seems where rubber sole connects to leather just below ankle, the transition is far more accentuated than on the right boot. You can feel the difference inside the boot. I hope this will go away in time but so far it continues to be an issue

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, stylish boot Very nice boot! Pros * Thin but warm lining * 11.5 fit as expected (all my other shoes are 11.5 as well) * Waterproof; no problems walking through puddles/snow/slush * Great looking boot! Cons * Sole started to peel from toe of boot after ~30 days of mild wear, walking around town. (Sorel resolved issue)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wet weather boot This is a great all around boot but especially good in wet weather. My son hasn't taken them off since Christmas! We especially appreciate you making them in size 15...might even consider making a 16 in case his foot grows more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Sorel Customer I had a pair of duck boots from another company for about 20 years and my dog chewed the leather uppers. I decided to try a different brand and am very pleased with these new Sorel boots. They are 5X warmer than my previous pair. Looking forward to my first big snowfall this year to try them out in the elements.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from love sorel but not this boot I love Sorel boots and bought this one because my last pair of Sorels lasted 15 years! But this one, right out of the box, the one leather boot eye (which I thought was plastic from the picture) is actually made of felt like leather and broke when I tied them. Super disapointed!!! I hate dealing with returns so will tie them skipping this eye :-( .
