From a Joan of Arctic owner for a year now...
They were 5 stars in my book when I first received them. They are warm but not sweaty, 100% waterproof, and Ive gotten many compliments from friends and strangers on them.
Only complaint is you have to essentially untie the boot to the point you have to relace it every time you put them on and take them off. So frustrating! Even then, trying to shimmy your foot out when you get home requires a little too much effort.
Because of this, the liners on both boots have only recently come loose and are completely disconnected from the outer sole. That means every time I take my boots off the liner comes out with my foot and I have to shove it back in, which mangles the liner even more.
Very disappointed a $200 boot doesnt hold up for more than one winter. I don’t recommend this boot unless you want to go to spend time and money at a shoe repairman like its 1956.

LOVE THEM
I LOVE them! I was a bit worried because I had achilles tendon surgery so I was concerned about them being heavy on my ankle but they are so cozy and snug around my ankle! HUNTY let me tell you living in BUFFALO NY and dealing with the snow these are a MUST!!!

Great for snowy, cold winters!
Overall, these are excellent snow boots. Keep you warm and dry! They are true to size. I wear 7.5 typically and that is the size I have in this boot. They have a wide toe box which is nice because I have wider feet. The only con I have is that they are very chunky and not very easy to take on and off.

Can't get my foot in boot!
I ordered my normal size of 7.5. I was so excited to get them but when I tried to put them on, I couldn't get my foot in the boot. I unlaced it but still couldn't. Maybe I should have ordered a size bigger. I will be returning.

High quality and cute!
Bought these boots on Black Friday sale (highly recommend). I’ve only had them a week, but they are exactly what I was looking for. I am a rancher’s wife in Wyoming, so I’m outside a LOT In the cold. I needed a pair of boots I could do random stuff outside in and look nice to run to town in, all while keeping my feet warm and dry. I didn’t buy these as a work boot, nor as a subarctic boot to stay warm in below zero. that’s not their intended purpose. I have much heavier duty (and not so cute haha) boots for that stuff. Got tired of either freezing or sweating feet going to town and running around all winter in though, and these boots are the perfect solution for that plus they’re super cute! if you plan to wear huge socks get a half size up. Otherwise they fit true to size, I’m between a size 8 and 8.5, so I ordered 8.5 and they fit great!

Sizing totally different from past years
I have had 2 previous JOAN of arc women’s boots in 6.5 which were great. I wore them both until they were falling apart but both lasted several winters. I went on and bought the exact same boot in the same size. I cannot even get my foot in it. The instep portion is so low to the sole that my foot will not slide in. The fur portion seems to be higher quality than previous and I like the fancier laces but it doesn’t work if you can’t get your foot in the boot :(

They're awesome
I've had them for two years now as a gift. They still look as good when I first got them. SNOW, WATER, MUD, anything they will protect your feet. They're difficult to get on and off though.
They can protect your feet from dropping things and are tough. I worked with dogs in the mud and they're still perfect.

Nice boot
These are my first pair of Sorel boots and I love them. The color I chose was Camel Brown. They’re so pretty and feel very warm. They are also quite comfortable. I was able to wear them around Breckinridge in the snow and not stop slip. Only complaint I have is for some reason my right boot feels heavier than my left.
They run true to size but at the same time sort of small, so the 10 was actually too big.

Poorly made boot
I spent $200 on these boots and the snap broke off on the leather strap at the top of the boot that helps you pull on your boot. The warranty ends after 1 year and it, unfortunately, broke during year 2 of wearing these boots. Customer service could not offer a recommendation to get these fixed, nor could they provide me with the hardware so I could take it to my own shoe cobbler, who did not have grommets to match. I expect shoes that cost me $200 to have better quality than this!

Cold Feet
While these boots are absolutely adorable, that is the only positive aspect about them.
They are difficult to put on; you must practically remove the laces to make them easy to place your foot in. All four button snaps broke the first year I owned them, so that has only increased the difficulty level for trying to get them on. And, just as you may suspect getting them off is just as large of a pain as putting them on.
They rub terribly on the back of your ankle, so you have to wear the laces looser, making them even more cumbersome to walk and drive in.
I could easily put up with the difficulty of taking them on/off and clunky nature, but they are NOT warm at all. For example, I wore them to a football game, two pairs of thick socks, and my toes were completely numb by halftime... it was only 34 degrees! This doesn’t work in Northern Illinois!

Cute but heavy
I live in Florida and celebrating Christmas in Colorado with guaranteed snow, can’t wait! I bought five pairs of sorel boots in different styles trying to figure out what will work to keep my feet dry n warm. These boots are so pretty but very stiff and need time (that I don’t have)to be broken in so they went back! I kept 2 styles, the black Lola tall and Whitney tall...both adorable and snow worthy! I wear a size 7 shoe and ordered an 8.5 because I need room for chunky socks n Vionic shoe inserts for more support. They are the perfect size.

These are very nice boots and look warm, but were too short length wise, I returned. I'm normally a size 7.5 and ordered and 8 , my toes were touching the front of the boot.

Ouch :(
Boots are cute. Wore for the first time today and while the fit is perfect and comfy, these rub the back of both my heels so badly. Frustrating as I bought these when I moved to Chicago in May, only discovering now they're unwearable. I walk a mile to work and back every day and these will not work for my commute. Disappointing as I'm unable to return . Love my Joan of Arctics but these are definitely a miss.

Worst snow boots ever
I bought these boots super excited to have these. Sadly when I wear them my toes go numb from being so cold. They appear to have zero insulation and nothing more than wearing rubber boots in the snow. Complete false advertising. I have given up after a few times wearing.
My uggs which are NOT waterproof do a better job of insulating my feet even wet! When winter boots can’t keep feet from going numb in above zero temps they are just useless. It’s unacceptable they sell and market these as winter weather proof boots.
When I called to complain and say they make my toes go numb they say oh well too bad we can’t help you. Im trying to send back. I expected alot more from a brand name like Sorel.

Best boots ever!
I’ve owned these boots for a while now... at LEAST five or six years. They’ve seen both Indiana and Colorado winters and they’re still like brand new! I love the way they look and they keep my feet ultra warm (remember to wear wool socks with winter boots, cotton will only make your feet colder!) I have wide feet and they fit true to size, but keep in mind that winter boots should not fit like fashion boots... they need to be a bit roomy to properly keep your feet warm so expect them to feel just a tad too big.

Fun and functional
I bought these to wear for Michigan winters. While I can't attest to the warmth yet because its fall, they are definitely comfortable and seem well made. My only complaint is the fur on the top was flat and smushed down. I hope some fluffing and time will fix the issue.

Reliable
I have had sorel boots since I was a kid. Always reliable and keeps my feet warm and dry. They last a long time as well. Great quality but each design is different and may require different sizes. I grew up in the country on a dairy farm with lots of horses so my boots get used daily as soon as fall starts. Even in the summer I use them when it rains out to feed the animals.

Easy laces, tall boot
I bought the boots for our cold winters. My feet get cold easily. These boots are great if you are moving around. Standing still, not so much. We had temps in the teens recently, and my feet got cold while sitting within an hour. They kept my feet warm and dry as long as i was walking around. They are tall and keep my legs warm. The liner pulls out when i take the boots off, kindof a pain to shove the liner back in every time. I am satisfied with these boots so far.

I ordered these a .5 size big the first time because of some of the reviews. I have wide feet and these are true to fit. I returned and ordered in my size but the boots still made my foot look huge I tightened them as much as I could and they were still bulky at the bottom. I have other waterproof/winter boots and they look much better than these did! Also after trying the boots on with no show socks my calves broke out in a horrible rash for 2 weeks! I returned these as well

Great Boots!
I’ve owned my pair of Joan of Arc boots for over 8 years now and they are hands down the warmest boots I’ve ever owned. I live at 9,500 ft in the CO Rockies and my toes have never gotten cold, even in sub 0 temperatures. These boots stretch over time so I honestly recommend purchasing in your true size. After a year or two my boots became so big that my feet swim in them even with thick winter socks. Perhaps it was just the manufacturing design the year I purchased them because I have since noticed that the footbed is noticeably narrower in newer models. I recently purchased a new pair in my normal size and they fit appropriately. I just wish Sorel made the ankle and shaft of the boot more form fitting. These boots always bow out and make me look like I have thick feet and ankles.

Loved the style, how they fit, but the only thing they didn’t do, which i was so surprised about, was keeping my toes warm!! My toes were numb! Best boot ever
I never had a pair of Sorels boots. I thought they were pricey but want a quality boot. I'm so glad I bought these boots. They run true to size, they are comfy when walking and my toes are not smashed in the boot. The only draw back for me is putting the boot on is a bit of struggle but not enough to send them back. They are beefy boots if that makes sense to understand. If you feel you need to wear a thicker sock go half size up cause these are true to size. Overall they are really nice.

No Thanks!
By far the MOST uncomfortable boots I’ve ever put on my feet. I’ve tried everything to just trying to wear them out to wearing band aids on my feet to wearing 2 pairs of socks. No luck. They also make my feet look giant, unlike any other shoe. Which isn’t as important I’m aware but for the price it kind of it. So disappointed.

Replaced a great pair of boots with these
I bought these to replace a pair of tall shafted Keen winter boots that were wearable on an all day basis. They were very warm and comfortable in snowy and cold Northern Michigan winters. Sadly, after 6 years of use, the insides wore out and the zipper on one broke ,and that style is no longer available.
Now we live in snowy, cold, and windy Wyoming. So, I ordered the Joan of Arctics (black) after a retirement ceremony for my beloved Keens. The Sorels are "stylish". I can fit them under boot cut jeans. The liners have a little bulkier faux fur on them than I like for daily wear, and I feel like I have to kind of waddle with them on because of that. They're a little heavier than what I am used to as well. They are warm and comfortable otherwise, and I think they'll get better as they get broke in. I always wear a 7. I listened to other reviews that said they run small and ordered a 7.5. I wish I would orderd a 7 as they're a smidge too big, so I feel that they run true to size. I always wear a Smartwool sock with outdoor activity. I worry about slippage and blisters with snowshoeing with the bit of slop in the 7.5.

Awesome weatherproof boots
These boots were amazing! I realized that growing up we had 'fashion' winter gear that wasn't all that warm... no wonder I hated northern winters growing up! These boots were such a good buy! We just got back from a week in Wyoming and between the good socks and these boots my feet were surprisingly warm the entire time! I even jumped in a small puddle of melted snow just because and they stayed water tight, no wet socks! They are a bit precarious to pull off the foot but that is every single pair of boots I have ever owned. I was very apprehensive to spend the nearly $200 these cost but they proved to keep me, who is always cold, warm for a whole week when the temp did not get above freezing once!

Disappointing long term durability
After extensive research, I overcame the sticker shock for my Joan of Arctic boots with the intention that they would last many years of tough Midwestern winters. That was two years ago. The boots are difficult to get on and off, but the warmth was worth it. However, the rubber has torn and the boots are now out of warranty. The boots are no longer truly waterproof. While they still function for tightly packed snow and ice, slushy or melting show now results in soggy socks.

Perfect fit and super warm
After wearing my last pair of sorels almost daily in the winter for 30 years it was time to invest in a new pair. We live high in the Rockies in Colorado. After trying these on at the store, I ordered a pair online in an 8.5. I always wear a 8.5 in shoes and I have a very narrow foot. These are perfect! I can wear a thick pair of socks and there are no problems with getting the boots on or off. They are incredibly warm, super comfortable & great on the snow and ice. Yesterday I walked 3 miles in them and they were great. They are a little bulky on top with the faux fur, but they are really cute and work fine for mountain winter "fashion". I love these boots.

Great winter boots!
I was hesitant to get these boots because I wasn’t sure what size to get according to the reviews. I’m size 8 and people suggested to go a size or half size up. I went 1/2 size up so got them in 8.5 and I glad I did otherwise they would have been too tight, so I had room for thick socks. They are a little heavy if you are going to do a lot of walking but to be honest I got used to them quickly. My feet kept warmed and never got wet in the snow. On top of that they’re very fashionable. Shipping was fast. I love them.

Warm and Look Great!
Received as Christmas present. Get lots of compliments on them. They do run true to size in length but are wide. I am going to add an additional insole to try and take up some of the extra space - and will still be able to wear thick socks so my feet don't slide around in them.

Was expecting more
I thought I would invest in a pair of boots that would keep my feet warm. These boots claim to be good up to negative, I believe 32 degrees. After I bought them I went to shovel my porch off in single digit temperatures and after 10 minutes my feet were cold and numb. Also, they seemed to be too wide on the bottom so it is hard for me to wear them driving.
