How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm & classic I read many reviews on the fit of this boot, I wear between 61/2-7, I ordered the 7 and wear a thinner warm merino sock to walk in and they're perfect. They are a slimmer fitting boot, a bit more feminine look, in my opinion, just a classic boot for practical winter walk-about wear. April 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Icelandic Adventure Boot These are so easy to take on and off that they were ideal for travel. They are also very warm. I do recommend breaking them and getting used to wearing them before taking them on a trip. March 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fancy & Functional Love these boots, so cute and comfy! I Had been looking at several different styles and settled on these after reading so many positive reviews on them. I debated on the size for a while since I haven't previously owned a pair of Sorel's and had read conflicting statements on the fit. I went ahead and ordered my actual size, an 8, and sure enough the boots are true to size but if you want to accommodate a thick sock I would recommend going a half size bigger. I recieved my boots in time for a snowboard weekend and wore my Sorels whenever I wasn't in my board boots. They were stiff at first but they broke in nicely and now I don't want to take them off even after a long day in them. I highly recommend these. March 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! My second pair of Sorel boots. These boots run slightly small so I suggest that you order half a size up. I am typically a size 8 and based on other reviewers recommendations I ordered size 8.5 and they're perfect! I love the fact that these boots are stylish, comfortable and warm at the same time. The only complain that I have is the zipper...when I first tried them on the zipper was poking the top part of my foot but once you have the boots on, they're super comfy. March 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by They survived Iceland I recently returned from Iceland and I wore these boots the entire time! They were warm, waterproof, light weight and stylish. I wore them in the ice, snow, rain and during dinner. They were better than expected. I went up a half size so I could wear heavier socks. They are easy to take off and put on. The front zipper is great. February 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great snow, slush, rain boot This boot is attractive looking and warm. It has a wide toe box which is perfect for me. February 24, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Cute and practical These boots are extremely warm and not to mention cute and practical. I normally wear an 8.5. I ordered these in a 9 thinking there would be room for thick socks but there really isn't so they do fit a bit snug. The good news is because they are so warm you don't need thick socks. Great boot! I recommend it. February 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by love the boot I love this boot,so comforable and keep me warm from the cold weather which from upstate NY February 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love These!!! I ordered these just in time for our 1st winter blizzard which calculated about 20+ inches of snow. I was concerned about that size after reading the reviews however they are true to size (I have a slender foot). Even with 2 socks on I was snugly; however the lining was sufficient so I didn't need to worry about warmth. These boots kept my feet warm the entire time (about 2 1/2hrs of shoveling snow). They are comfortable to wear for long periods of time & they are pretty fashionable.i wear them on my commute to work (driving about 1 1/2 hrs) or leisure. Once I placed my order I recieved within 3 business days. The zipper in the foot is convenient however the zipper cut the top of my foot at some point so I gently slide my feet in. Nonetheless, This was my 1st purchase but it won't be my last! I highly recommend! February 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by realy nice boots normally wear size 8 got 8 1/2 fit perfect. feel like you are wearing water proof slippers. Stepped in water over zipper and the boots did not leak. Will buy the brown in the future. February 5, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not quite One year ago I bought these boots and have worn them non stop through two Chicago winters. With the sale I thought it would be nice to replace them. The first pair was way too small even though it was the exact same size as the ones I already have. So, I reordered a half size larger. Still didn't fit! Not to mention the stitching that even the clerk who accepted my return questioned. Keeping the old pair and hoping that Sorel will bring the manufacturing back to Canada. February 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Impressed I was looking for the perfect winter boots and I found them! The heels have a great grip in the snow and ice, and I went up a half size as recommended and they fit perfectly. They have very nice look to them, and have a good fit, I went walking around for 3 hours the same day I received them and I was comfy the whole time. As a previous owner of multiple pairs of Uggs, I finally know what a great pair of boots are. January 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE this boot! This boot arrived just in time for Jonas! 26 inches of snow in the city and my feet stayed warm and dry! The zipper makes for easy on and off - cute with leggings and a coat. January 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by NYC Blizzard 2016! I just took these out into the midst of the 2016 blizzard in Brooklyn! Wind blowing, piles of snow almost as tall as me, and nothing between me and these boots but a pair of tights and some light heat tech socks. I waded in thigh-deep again and again, and while my knees are still cold (leggings + tights was my best legwear option...), my feet remained warm and dry. With that test of tests out of the way, I'll also say that these provide some great comfort. I have plantar fasciitis that I constantly aggravate by continuing to work in retail, and extremely high arches, and the extra cushioning provided by the little rubber heels on these is a godsend, especially after I throw in my heel inserts. They're not stand-all-day boots, I learned that the hard way, but they're certainly excellent for clomping around a blizzardy city in comfort and warmth. And as I've heard some say, "winter has no eyes," but come on. This is New York. They still look a little bulky looking down, but they look great from virtually every other angle. Size wise, I tried on a 9.5 in the store, which fit like a glove, so I bought 10s to make room for extra socks because I occasionally work at the farmers market, and I have gotten chillblains before! Part of me sort of wishes I'd stuck with the 9.5, though. I usually wear a 10 in everything that isn't a pair of sneakers or Doc Martens. January 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just right for milder weather These boots are perfect. Not to tall, not to heavy or chunky, not so warm they become uncomfortable wearing them indoors, I just cannt say enough good things. January 21, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Arrived damaged. I was super excited about these boots but when they arrived they were poorly stitched on the inside where the fluffy top meets the inner liner resulting in a tear which would only get larger w/ wear. In the brief day that I had them I will say they were soft and comfortable and I like that you can tighten them for slim legs. I gave quality a middle rating b/c the seam wasn't sewn well and I don't know if it was a fluke or if Sorel quality is declining from my previous purchases? I have not received a replacement pair to compare. January 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice boot! Pleasant Surprise To be honest, I didn't come in for these. I had my eye on another boot. Once I told the salesperson what I was looking for though (warm, stylish boots to replace my Uggs when it's too wet but it's not a full on snow day) she helped me pick out some others and this was one of them. Initially I was put off because of the white fur trim (I still don't care for it much) but after I tried them on I was pleasantly surprised. They're pretty light compared to other snow boots and it was just the look I was going for. They do run short so I went a half size up and got the 9.5. At first I was going for the black (that's all I wear in the winter. No muss, no fuss) but in the end I felt the Grizzly Bear/Black combo had much more character. I've worn them once and they are very warm and comfortable. These are going to be my go to boots for average winter days and my Glacy Explorers are my snow boots. January 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Definitely Size Up I first ordered a size 11, because ALL of my other Sorel boots/shoes are 11's, but they were way too small. I tried them on with thin socks, and my feet felt so constricted that I could barely move my toes. I ordered a 12, and those are perfect (a little bit of room for a thick/second sock, but not too floppy with normal socks)! The zipper makes for easy on and off (for wearing to/from work, checking the sauna fire, etc.), and they are warm and lightweight enough to carry me through a weekend of winter camping and skiing and tromping through four inches of fresh snow. I was worried about the height of the heel, but I wore them on a five mile hike and found them to be perfectly comfortable. These boots win in every way! December 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very happy These were given as a gift and were much appreciated. Warm, comfortable, and waterproof. December 29, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Bummed these didn't work out. Was so excited to receive these boots! However, I wear an 11 and my toes bump into the end. Going up a half size as the other reviewers recommended is not an option...I'll have to go to a 12. I'm worried the 12 will run way too big. I have two other pairs of Sorel boots - the tall Toronto and a pair of now discontinued fur booties. Both are slightly big in a size 11. Also, the zipper has been sticking so it is not at all easy to even try them on. December 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boot Great boot. Warm, comfortable and slightly stylish for a snow boot. Wanted an easy to get in and out of boot with no fur trim. Followed recommendations and went up a half size which was perfect for me. A full size would have been too big. Got the boots in black but sort of wish I had gotten the brown as the black are rather plain. Color is described as Black/British Tan leading me to think there would be a two tone combo, but not so. There is zero tan color anywhere. All black. December 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very comfy!!! LOVE EM!!! After reading ALL the reviews I decided to go with a half size bigger. I normally wear an 8 and I got the 8 1/2, the fit is PERFECT!! I was able to wear these right away without any break in time. I've even walked the dogs on a rainy day with these boots and no socks. There was no rubbing or sweaty feet issue. I love the zipper in front, works great to throw them on in a hurry. I wear an 8 in all three of my leather Sorel wedges but have found that the rubber boots need to be half sized up. Hope this helps you decide YES! Enjoy!!! December 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Boot has everything i want Love, Love, Love. Comfort, warmth and good looking boot December 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by better than perfect! Out of the box these boots felt like an old friend. To be sure, I wore them around the house for a few hours and they just got better and better. We have had weather to test them and once again, I am delighted. I normally wear a 7 or 7.5 and reading reviews prompted me to order an 8 and they are a perfect fit. I do value the reviews and they definitely impact my purchase choice. I thank them for taking the time to do so. All in all, an outstanding purchase. The front zipper is so convenient and an excellent design feature. The fleece lining is so effective at staving off the cold. The boot gives excellent support and flexibility, and toe room is superb. These are the boots I reach for now that the weather is wet and cold. I am more than satisfied!!!! December 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Needs some tweaking Got my boots today. Possitives: Beautiful, well-made, warm. Negatives: size, no arch support, sole feels thin Overall I'm happy with these boots. I have other sorel boots and they are all size 10. These size 10's are tight in length and width. You could safely go up a size. The soles feel very thin ... I would still recommend them for quality and versatility. December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Winter Boot Overall Very Happy Took a chance ordering online and it work out perfect for me. Second time owner of this brand and they are my favorite go to boots! The Winter Fancy Tall ll boot in black is so stylish, very comfortable and I love that there waterproof! The cream colored furry lining material at the top just pops on these boots which is one of the things that attracted me to them, you just zip them up and go!! Ive noticed the calf area doesn't have a lot of room so no thick socks or thick pants are gonna work, skinny jeans will. I measured my calf and noticed anything larger than 14" will be too tight that's with my size 7 boot if you go up in size to compensate for calf area the boot part could be too big... I got lucky with this one I totally love them and would love to get this pair in the other color! December 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice winter boots Well I got this ones for my wife. Her size is 8 but following the reviews ordered in a bigger size. What a huge mistake. Just get it bigger if you want extra room and have a no skinny foot type. She's in love with her boots in size 8. Said are super comfy and soft. About quality, let's see when the winter season ends and the snow go away. Now the company doesn't offer FREE RETURNS and you can't exchange the product either. They ask you make a new order, pay for it and in the meanwhile send the prior purchase and wait for your money back. December 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE this boot! I bought these from onlineshoes in a 5.5. I range from 5.5-6. They are slightly small, especially if you want to wear big puffy socks with them, though you definitely won't need to! I had to return them and since they were out of 6's I bought them from SOREL as soon as I could. These boots are so worth it! So versatile and comfortable but still classy! December 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by AMAZING These boots are not only fashionable they fit perfectly and are soooo warm. I live just north of the Chicago area, my boots arrived just in time for the first snowfall. They were perfect for shoveling and then later that evening for an event outdoors. I am a true 8.5 and that is what I ordered. I did try them on with thick winter socks and they fit however, I do not think I will ever really need to wear the thick socks bc the boots are insulated very well. Extremely happy with my purchase and disappointed I didn't buy them the previous winter :) December 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My go-to boots I bought these boots in black a month ago and love them so much I just bought the brown. I live in the Rocky Mountains and walk to work. These boots are perfect for my commute and I can also wear them all day at work because they look nice and are not too hot. I also love the front zipper. They are super easy to put on and take off. I normally wear 6 1/2 to 7. Bought them in a 7 1/2 and they are perfect. November 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Boots Ever! What else can I say? They are super comfortable, fit great, extra practical for rain and cold, so very stylish. I have gotten compliments every single time I've worn them out so far:)! November 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very stylish but Definitely needs to size up This is the pair to own when you want to be stylish as well as comfortable. I normally wear size 6 boots but for this one I ordered a 7 based on reviews I've read. And 7 was perfect- gives me some wiggle room in my toes and allows me to wear thick socks. Love the grip on the snow as well February 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful and practical I am so pleased with these boots. They are warm and totally waterproof, and a godsend in this snowpacaplypse Boston is suffering as I write. I navigate the slushy streets with ease and look good doing it! I was concerned the shaft would be too tight as I have muscular calves but they fit great, if just a bit snug over jeans. I would still recommend measuring calves--anything over 14 1/2 inches will probably mean they'll pinch too much. Assuming the right measurements though, the boots are just so cute and functional. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to because these were really worth paying full price. I expect to wear them for several years and they won't look dated or out of style--they don't have a trendy Sorel look and they're a breath of fresh air from all the Hunter boots, etc. out there! February 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Newest Favorite Sytle I purchased a pair of the black boots in a size 8 and they were too small for my calf so I gave them to my sister and order the brown/black in a size 9.5, which after I put on my thick winter wool socks fits perfectly. I bought these for my trips to Alaska and have tested them. I wore them all day without any trouble. They are comfortable and warm and my husband loves the style. Both my sister and I love these boots and as she says, we have cranky feet. I would highly recommend these boots. February 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Perfect Snow Boots I love these boots! When I first tried them on I thought they might be a little too small, but after walking around in them a bit..they are perfect! The zipper up the front makes them easy to get on and off and they keep my feet super warm. I live in NYC and wanted a boot that felt stylish and not super big or clunky. These boots work with jeans, leggings or skirts. We just had a big snow storm and I was excited to try them out. I have nothing but great things to say about these boots! January 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by These boots run very small I really wanted to like these boots but they run very, very small and I didn't want to order a 3rd pair. I normally wear a size 8. I ordered an 8.5 because the website said they run small. They were very small. I then ordered a size 9 which were also too small. I gave up. With the Sorel website charging for shipping plus return shipping, I'm just not interested in giving them a 3rd try. The boots are pretty stylish though and seem to be made well. One thing to note - the sheepskin fuzzy material that sticks out at the top does not line the entire boot which is kind of disappointing. January 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by BE WISE; ORDER A HALF-SIZE UP! For most of my life, I've worn a Women's Size 9.5. For the past few years, I've almost exclusively worn Size 10 (for comfort & to accommodate changes in my feet). In this boot, I ended up returning the Size 10 & ordering a Size 10.5, going 1/2-Size up. I did this in order to not have my toes touching the end of the boot inside & to have room for thicker socks. Very nice boots, toasty warm, stylish; though, not quite as "grippy" as I would have liked. Also, they feel a bit stiff & a little clunky, but that may change as they break in. Overall, I am very satisfied with this boot & would highly recommend them; just save yourself the headache & extra expense of sending them back & ordering 1/2-Size Up. Return Shipping is Not *Free* January 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Winter boots, check! I looked around for winter boots for several months and I’m so glad I landed on these. They are functional in that they’re warm, well insulated, waterproof, they have good tread, and are also easy to get on and off. Another big one: they’re not heavy and clunky like regular Sorels. Living in NYC, style was also important to me. I can wear these in the daytime (the black ones go with everything) but they’re low profile enough that I can also get away with dressing them up a little at night. I was looking forward to testing them out on a 5-hour hike in the Pacific Northwest this winter, which ended up being pretty cold and non-stop pouring rain. Not only did they keep my feet superbly warm and were a pleasure to hike in, I started running through foot-deep mud puddles near the end AND they hands-down stood up to the challenge! I had dry, happy feet driving down the mountain. I don't usually write reviews, but because I’m thrilled with these boots I thought they deserved it. As far as quality, I gave these one less than perfect because the construction of the left boot is slightly different than the right. The seam between the rubber and leather tends to rub on the top of my foot and on that same boot the insulation around the toe between the upper and the footbed was separated slightly so my big toe sometimes touches the rubber. Both defects are internal and didn’t affect my comfort or the boot’s functionality, but I feel it’s important to mention for a well-rounded review. I wear a 7 and bought a 7. They still have a little room for thicker socks should I ever need them. December 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable, Warm, and Waterproof I love these boots! Comfortable and stylish enough to wear all day from the city to the mountain and back. I like that they're rubber lowers for easier cleaning if out in mud. December 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by boots that don't embarrass me I was so sick of my old winter boots, particularly because they weren't stylish at all. I checked these out for about 2 weeks before finally deciding to buy them, and so far I am not disappointed. Yes, they are still winter boots, but they downplay that quality. They are super warm. I did go and buy a half size up because I know I'll want to wear thick socks- I wear a size 9 usually. Even without thick socks, the 9.5 works just fine and is comfortable to walk in. I didn't have to break them in at all. I haven't experienced the arctic temps here in Chicago yet, but I'm pretty confident these boots will be life savers. Only tiny complaint about the construction- I do love the front zipper, but the leather from the boot that's behind the zipper keeps getting stuck in the zipper. It's made it difficult to zip up easily sometimes. November 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent and warm These boots are terrific. I took the advice of getting a half size bigger and worked perfectly. I have worn them for college football games where it's only been 20 degrees and for walking the dog in MN winters, they are phenomenal. Jeans and several layers of pants can fit well inside the boots. Highly recommend them! November 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great purchase OK, let me preface this by saying I have several pairs of snow boots already, but I live in Chicago, so who can't use more! These are probably tied with my Michelin-Man North Face boots for being the warmest pair I own, but these are much cuter. They do look like snow boots, but with a more fashiony bent, just not too froufrou like the Joan of Arctic (I don't do poufy "fur" around the legs). They are very true to size. I usually wear a 9 in most style shoes, from flats to boots. A 9 in these is perfect BUT I wear regular-thickness bamboo socks, which are very warm but not thick. If you intend to wear thicker winter socks, size up a half size. I tried on the 9.5 with my bamboo socks, and it wasn't as snug around my ankles and allowed too much flopping when walking. So thin socks and TTS it is for me. With thick socks, I would've needed the 9.5. As for warmth, these are VERY warm. My feet were getting very heated up pacing back and forth in the store trying them on. On cold days, they'd be comfy to wear inside--no need to change shoes at the movies or something. Much warmer than the Conquest Carly, which are more for fashion that true warmth (but just toasty with Dr. Scholl's thermal liners). Love the front zippers. So quick to pull on and off. I don't have to sit down to lace them up like other styles. Thanks to the zippers, they can quickly evaporate any perspiration better than unzippered or laced boots. As for the shafts, I'm over 5'9" and they go just past mid-calf, but in a flattering way. If you're shorter, they may hit farther up the calf. I will say that if you have larger-than-average calves, this may not be the style for you. I have 13" circumference calves, and these fit perfectly. Not tight or very snug, but there's no visible room between my leggings and the zipped boots. These are snow boots, but they're stylish enough that I wouldn't be embarrassed to wear them to dinner or even around the office. November 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Lovely Boot This boot is beautiful. I am normally a size 8 and ordered an 8.5. The front of my foot was pushing on the front of the shoe. I would order a full size up. I returned these, but the reason is I bought them is because I needed a truly warm, truly insulated snow boot. These are more of a fashion, medium boot that would be perfect in a wet, chilly place like Oregon or Washington (I live in Northern California where it hardly ever even rains). The leather is thick and gorgeous. If I didn't already have boots that served this purpose, I would have kept these (after ordering up to a size 9), but for the $190 price I decided to save my money. I finally went with the Joan of Arctic tall boot with the knit cuff. In that boot I am a 8.5. I expect this to fulfill my snow boot needs, based on everything I read about them online. Rated 4 out of 5 by A long search ended with these.... We raise our own meats and produce, I need durable, warm, farm boots. We also live in NH, our winters are very cold and snow can be very deep at times. I like these boots, but don't love them. The rubber at the toe is very thin, I wish it were thicker, and for the price, it should be a steel toe. I wear a size 9, ended up with a 9.5, but could wear a 10. Lining is very thick and very warm. A great boot for normal winter use. Depending on how long they last it would be a 3 or 4 star..... November 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boot - Order up half to whole size Bought these as my new go-to winter boot. We have very cold snowy winters where I live and I'm excited to try these out. Beautiful boot, surprisingly light weight. Don't be fooled by the name and picture, they still do look like snow boots not "fashion" boots ... but that's what I am looking for. They are more feminine and stylish than most winter boots though. I'm a size 8 - 8.5 and I ordered the 9 - glad I did because they fit very well. If you want room for good socks and dont want your feet to be too squished, I would recommend ordering up a half size to whole size. I gave these a 4 because I haven't got to test the warmth or water resistance in snow/ cold temperatures yet. October 2, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Warm Feet! These boots will no doubt keep my constantly, cold toes warm! My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 are 2 things: If you order true to size, you won't be able to wear thick socks with them. I got mine in the mail today and tore into the package and tried them on right away! I will definitely be able to wear normal socks, but not thick wool socks. There looks to be some extra room, or puffiness, or gathering around the ankles when I look down at my feet, but when I look in the mirror, they totally look fine. One thing I LOVE about these...they fit my calves! I always have a tough time finding boots that fit my legs, as they always seem to be wide or too big. These fit my legs so perfectly. I don't have toothpick legs....my calf circumference is 13" if that helps? I purchased the black ones and love the look. They will be my everyday, runaround in boot. If you like thick socks in the winter...go half a size up! Happy shopping! I am going to go scope out my next pair ;-) September 29, 2014
