Women's Winter Carnival™ Boot is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Success Great boots, not too heavy or overly bulky but still rugged enough to withstand the outdoors and look good doing it! Although I have to wear thicker socks folded over at the ankle since it bunches a little bit, probably because it's made a little too loose in the ankle, I would still say overall I made the right choice with this purchase. Make sure you buy the correct size or be prepared to pay shipping for returns!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love the left not so much the right I love the look of these boots. And i love the left one. These boots are warm and to the best of my knowledge waterproof. We just had a blizzard and was out in 20" (with waterproof snow pants over them) and had no problems. My feet stayed warm and dry. HERE is the problem. BIG problem. Like others have said there is something that is digging into the back of my right Achilles. It kills me after I wear them for only a little bit. If I can figure out how to avoid this pain i would give these boots 5 starts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT WATERPROOF I bought these boots for working at a ski and snowboard resort, and I have regretted them since I I got them. The first issue is how uncomfortable they are as many reviews have mentioned something hard digs into the back of your ankle. The next issue is once that they get cold or wet your feet will be cold and wet. They are not waterproof like they claim nor would they ever keep your feet warm in -35 degree weather. After hearing how great sorels were, I don't see it and would NOT recommend them to anyone

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Uncomfortable I love the look of these boots, but can't believe how uncomfortable they are. There is something hard in the back that digs into the back of my foot and makes it difficult to walk. After really looking forward to these boots, I'm so disappointed to learn that I can't wear them for more than a few minutes without having to take them off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good not Excellent I'm giving these boots a "good" value because the back of the boots bunch up, it doesn't stay straight. It may be the way my ankles are, but that's how they fit on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots! I purchased these boots for our daughter to wear this unusually cold, snowy winter and they have proven to be perfect! She has played and sledded in the snow for extended periods of time and her feet are never cold or wet. She and I have almost the same size foot and I've borrowed them on occasion and can say they are awesome! They are a little roomy, but it's winter and with a thicker sock they fit perfectly!! Also, I read some reviews saying that these boots were heavy and bulky, but I haven't found this to be the case nor has my daughter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad I bought these I've only worn them twice as of yet...but both times my feet were warm and dry. A little big but if you wear thick socks...they're perfect!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great In Cold, Bad In Snow, not waterproof these boots have been great in extremely cold weather but they are not waterproof as I realized today. I've now worn now 5 times, in dry cold they are the warmest, but now that I am walking through snow - not even puddles - the toe section of my socks are wet. this has now happened twice. I'm bringing them back to where I purchased Lord & Taylor in NYC to see if they think it's just a unique defect and will exchange them for another hopefully not defective pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and Comfy Love my new winter carnival boots! The pewter color goes with everything. After reading the reviews, I ordered a half size smaller and am glad I did. I wear them with a heavy sock. I do feel they are a little large in the heel. I solved the problem by using a heel insert. Now the fit is perfect. Let it snow!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, warm boots. Go down half a size Sorel's are the only boots that keep my feet warm for hours outdoors, even in freezing temps. These have great treads so you won't slip on ice. The ankle tends to be a little stiff, and takes a little breaking in, so if you're getting them for a trip where you'll be hiking/walking a lot, make sure you can walk around in them for a couple weeks beforehand. I always size down one half size and I'm still able to wear them with either thick or thin socks. (I am normally always an 8 in every other shoe, but in these and other similar Sorel styles I'm a 7.5.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Order 1/2 size smaller Just got these- normally I'm a 6.5, but I'm swimming in them even with thicker socks. I have to return them, thinking a 6 will do the trick. Not sure what the deal is with Sorel's sizing.. lots of conflicting reviews based on the sizing. A 6.5 should be a 6.5...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ouch I want to really like these boots, they do keep my feet warm during Montana winters. However, I have to bandaid-up the back of my ankles before wearing them for extended periods of time. They cut into the backs of my ankles like no other. Even with liner socks and big socks, they hurt. The back of the boot is not strong enough to prevent against buckling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I survived the first snow day with these! Yesterday was the first REAL snow day in the 'burgh. I made it home, walking on slushy and snow covered sidewalks without feeling it! These shoes kept my feet warm and dry the whole time. I will say, they are quite bulky on the front side and little big, but with wearing fuzzy socks, the fit is fine. I am very glad I made this purchase! It is def worth the investment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I was very excited to get this boot at first--I got the purple dahlia color. The color/style are very nice and exactly what I was looking for, but the upper is not sturdy enough so the back buckles and cuts into my heel. This, in combination with how heavy/chunky the rubber bottoms are, made them super awkward and uncomfortable to walk in. Also, the description lists that the upper is nylon, but this boot is NOT vegan because the detailing is leather. I wish this was more clear on the website--another disappointment when I checked the tag after receiving them. Please make vegan boots sorel! All in all, I'm disappointed these boots didn't work out, not only because the fit wasn't right, but because of the misleading description. On top of that, I had to pay 10 bucks to send them back because no return label was included! Very sad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Christmas gift I bought these boots for my wife and success! She loves these boots. They keep her feet nice and toasty while hiking and light walking. They are also very cute and she can pair them with jeans or leggings. These are the first pair of winter boots that have truly fit her in all the right places.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boots; fits half size large I wore these through multiple Upper Peninsula winters and they have held up wonderfully. However, I wish I had gotten a half size smaller-- since they're a bit big, they really rub my ankles raw if I have to walk a distance. Even with thick socks, I'd suggest going down a half size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from True to size Love the Purple Dahlia color, true to the color in person as expected. Because most of the reviews said the boot ran a bit large and recommended downsizing, I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear and had to return the boot because it was too small. I found it to be true to size with what I normally wear even with thick socks. I haven't worn these in the snow yet, but they seem very warm and well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boot! I have the Purple Dahlia color and love them! They are comfortable and warm and look super cute. I bought these to wear in the mountains when I'm on my snowmobile. You won't be disappointed and these boots will be great for snowshoeing too!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My not so cute boots! These boots looked so cute online I couldn't wait to get them. However the are very ugly and bulky. They remind me of my old army wet weather boots. I normally wear a size 8.5 but went for the 8 and they fit fine and so far they are comfortable. Look forward to wearing them more often next winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love These Boots! I received the Purple Dahlia Carnival boots for Christmas this year, and I couldn't be happier with them! I go to school at UW-Madison, and I'm originally from the Minneapolis area, so I knew that I needed a quality pair of boots to wear in the heavy snow that would also keep my feet warm and dry. We recently had a snow/sleet day, and as I was walking around campus, I was extremely surprised at how warm my feet were, and at the dryness of the interior of my boots. They really are extremely waterproof! I love these boots, and I would definitely recommend to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots! After six New York winters I finally bit the bullet and bought snow boots, and of course it's the warmest winter ever. Ha! However, I love my winter carnivals. They look super cute on and kept my feet incredibly warm and dry in the one (1) snowstorm we've had in NYC this year... I initially sized down half a size after reading the reviews but the 7.5 was a little snug, even wearing light socks. A little frustrating but I exchanged for an 8 (which is my usual size) and they fit perfectly. I don't have any issues with rubbing on the ankle like some other reviewers. I find these are so warm and the liner is nice and thick, so regular socks work totally fine. Love!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Causes chafing on ankles I bought these boots over the summer when they were finally back on stock, but only got to wear them recently in the snow. I was so bummed to feel that the left boot is somehow a bit roomier at the ankle. It causes chafing on my ankle and calf. There seems to be a piece of heavier material going down the boot vertically and that is the part that is jutting into my leg. I dread wearing them now and would not recommend them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boot. These boots are so cute! They run very wide and the heel slips. But once I found the right thick sock it made a huge difference. They are very warm. I bought them for our trips to the NC mountains. I wouldn't suggest buying for hiking as they are very heavy. They are more of a town/yard boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sorrel Boots I ordered a size larger than I normally would to allow room if I wore thicker wool socks with them, and the fit is great! Not too tight, just the right amount of wiggle room when I'm walking. The Sorrel boots are heavy duty and very durable to get me through the tough and blistering Minnesota weather :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Boot Living in Duluth Minnesota, I was on the search for the warmest and comfiest winter boots. When i received my Sorels, I couldn't wait for the snow to come! In years past, my boots weren't warm enough and my feet always ended up wet. After my first time wearing my sorels, I could already tell that they were worth every cent. Although a little heavy, my boots are super comfy, stylist, and WARM. I recommend these boots for anyone with cold winter conditions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So cute, but so uncomfortable These boots are absolutely the cutest. They are very well made and super warm. I've got no complaints about looks or how they're made. But the fit... After reading the reviews I ordered a 7.5 since my typical boot size is 8. They were enormous. I ordered a size 7 from another retailer as on this site they are sold out, and while they fit fine, they were extremely uncomfortable and so hard. They are likely made to be very sturdy, but that durability just was too uncomfortable for me. They are so cute. I wanted to love them, but had to send both pairs back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm & toasty boat shoes For the past years, my toes were always frozen by the time I get to work. Finally, I splurged on buying a pair of real winter boots and chose Sorel because of its reputation. Very warm and toasty indeed. However, they are a little big-looking. I'm a little self-conscious wearing them as I am very petite and it's so easy for me to look overwhelmed. It feels like I'm wearing moon shoes at times. Also, there is absolutely no traction in the soles so when you walk on ice, good luck! You will fall on your butt unless you TREAD VERY, VERY CAREFULLY. But I'm keeping it for now and will research on other kinds of Sorel boots if this ends up busting in the years to come.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from too small As suggested i ordered a half size down, what a mistake, they were so tight i could barely get them on.returning them today. Good thing the temps are in the 60's this week! The boot itself is super cool. Love the style and the height.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not fit true to size After reading other reviews I bought this boot in my size which is size 8 because others said the boots fit true to size. That was not the case. The boots are HUGE. I always wear a size 8 in any kind of shoe and I had to send these back for a size 7. I was also disappointed Sorel does not include a prepaid return label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots!! Color is beautiful, very stylish, but practical for ND winters. Not as good as my Caribou's for warmth and traction, hut overall a great winter boot!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Toes curl up The boots seem very high quality and great for snow. I found them very uncomfortable, however, as the front of the boot (the toe box) curls upwards.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from order a full zise down these boots are heavy and quite chunky but for a chicago winter they are perfect. be sure to order a whole size down. I ordered a half size down (7 to 6.5) and the boots are slightly too big still.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome boot! Although we haven't had a big snow fall yet this year, I am excited to wear these boots hunting, ice fishing and out in the snow with my pups. I have several friends and family that love these boots so I look forward to using them as well. I tried them on as soon as I received them and they are extremely comfortable and fit true to size. I ordered them 1/2 a size smaller than my normal size as suggested and they fit perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall good leather-free winter boot I just moved to the east coast from the west coast and didn't have a pair of winter boots, so I decided to order these in black (my first Sorel purchase) to prepare for a long winter ahead. I chose this style because I don't wear leather/seude, and this was one of the only styles I could find without those materials. I am normally between a 6.5 and 7, so I ordered a 6.5 since the reviews said the boot runs large -- I found this to be the way to go, as the 6.5 still allows me plenty of room for thick socks. The cons: they're a bit clunky and the shaft of the boot is rather stiff, so moving your ankles to walk takes some effort (hopefully they get broken in after some use). Pros: Tho I have yet to wear them in the snow, I think they will do the trick of keeping me warm, and while they aren't the sexiest boots, they are relatively attractive for what they are. All in all, I'm satisfied, though I do wish Sorel would make some of the more feminine styles of boot in animal-free materials.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sorel boots This product is very warm and very comfortable. The fit is amazing and the material is durable.
Date published: 2015-09-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits just right I read some of the reviews about ordering a size up, I would not recommend that. I wear a 9 and ordered a 9 and it fits perfect. I could have even have gotten away with ordering an 8.5 and it still would have fit well I think.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My feet are freezing I have been hearing about Sorel boots for 2 years now. I was finally able to save up enough to purchase my first pair this year in January! I originally had my eyes on the Caribou style in the shale and stone color, but upon ordering the site did not have my size, so instead I chose the Carnival style, which were very similar in the same colors. I wear a size 8.5 running/walking shoe and I chose a size 8.5 even after reading reviews on the boots running large. I work outside as a carhop and I figured I would be wearing thick wool socks anyway. The size fits perfect. The boots are big and clunky, but they are very durable and safe on ice and snow. My problem is that my feet are EXTREMELY cold in these boots! I have read reviews that rave about Sorel boots being so warm and cozy. I'm extremely disappointed in this discovery as I work outside for up to 8 hours a day in the snow in Michigan. As for the comments on the ankles being rubbed sore, I can only agree wholeheartedly on that as well. Although, with thick wool socks the friction is considerably less. I LOVE the style and colors. I've never been more complimented on a pair of boots I have purchased. I wish I could refer my friends and family, but I have been let down in the warmth aspect.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Clunky & Too Large Unfortunately, I should have listened to the other reviewers - this boot runs very large. I have to return them. The quality of the shoe is very good, just is too big.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from beautiful boot but way too big with limited sizes I was excited to see a size 8 which I wear in regular shoes. Disappointed when i received them and they were extremely too big. Not even a pair of thick socks could change that. I'm hAving a Hard time finding a boot available to replace these. They are very cute and look like great quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read the reviews I'm glad I read the reviews about sizing. These do run slightly large and I ordered a 1/2 size down. They fit perfect on my feet. They came just in time for the large snowfall that hit Chicago this year. My only issue is that EVERY time I take the boots off the bootie comes off, too. But it hasn't stopped me from wearing them everyday.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome boots, worth the money Excellent quality! I normally wear an 8 1/2 so I got an 8 but they are still slightly big but I just wore thick socks and that was perfect! Got TONS of compliments! Love love love these

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Survived Chiberia Love these boots! This is my first winter in Chicago and I wore these at night when the windchill was -30 below, walking through snow downtown. My feet were perfectly cozy and warm. I did layer my feet with fleece tights and merino wool socks as well and had no problems with fit. Thank you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from All the bad things... These shoes are SO uncomfortable. They are not warm, and they let in water. I was so excited because I heard such great things about sorels, but these shoes were a complete disappointment. I got blisters from wearing them and there is no bend in to sole (imagine walking without bending your ankles at all). I cant decide if these shoes would be better for spring, or winter. Either way your feet wont be happy. In spring weather, you'll end up with soaking wet feet. The seal or something on these isnt working or the soles are easy to get cracks (I mean in the first time even wearing them). In winter weather, you better hope you can fit in about 10 layers of socks because these boots are NOT warm! In two years, I wore these maybe ten times. They still look brand new but now I'm stuck with them and there's no chance or a refund or any warranty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Clunky As many others have said, these things are huge and clunky. I expect snow boots to be bigger and bulkier than the average boot, but these look like I am wearing my boyfriends shoes. I returned them, so I cannot say anything about the actual wear, because they were so big I couldn't even wear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First pair of snow boots I have never purchased snow boots before. After spending last winter with frozen toes I started doing research about different brands of weather boots. Everything I read led me back to Sorels. Things to keep in mind - these boots are functional snow boots that are also pretty cute. Because they put function over fashion, you must keep in mind they are as others reviewers say, clunky-looking. Also, ordering a half size down is a good recommendation. I usually wear a 7.5. After reading other reviews I decided to order a 7 and it fits perfectly. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I have not experienced any kind of ankle pain while wearing these boots. I really LOVED the look of the Tofino Cate boots and purchased a pair to compare to the Carnival. The Tofino's were definitely more of a fashion boot for me and did not seem to be of as high quality as the Carnivals. I tried the Elk/Delila color but ended up going with the color combo that was available exclusively through JCrew. There has been very little snow in Kansas so far this winter, but plenty of cold weather - my toes haven't been cold yet!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Most uncomfortable shoe ever These shoes tore apart my Achilles after walking only 2 blocks. The back of the boot folded and rubbed painfully hard until my Achilles was raw. I couldn't bring myself to attempt to wear these long enough to potentially break them in.
