Women’s Slimpack™ Riding Tall II Duck Boot is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOMEN’S SLIMPACK™ RIDING TALL II DUCK BOOT As a horse-owner, I am constantly out in the elements whether I like it or not -- (as most horse people have experienced, horses can flat tear up a piece of ground -- making land more than muddy) the rain and mud and muck are just a natural part of caring for livestock. I have tried almost every kind of boot in order to deal with feeding, cleaning and fetching the animals from the field. I learned the hard way how critical a decent pair of boots can be. To some people, it does not make sense to pay several hundred dollars for footwear that is going to get trashed, but in reality, substandard boots crack and leak quickly AND boots cut too low, allow muddy water to slosh into the tops. Over time, this is more than frustrating. I invested in these boots and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. They are unique and an amazing quality. The profile also allows me to ride in them as they are well-fitting, work in stirrups easily, and they look professional -- and best of all, MY FEET STAY DRY AND CLEAN! The fit is a bit narrow - which works great for me - so if your foot is wider, I would order half a size up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Cute, and Warm I bought these before traveling on a three-week Europe trip where I knew it would be raining/snowing/freezing. I was able to walk in them all day and keep my feet dry and toasty. Good traction on the soles kept prevents slipping on icy sidewalks. Roomy toe box accomodates thick or multiple pairs of socks. The boots are surprisingly light and didn't need to be broken in. Now I wear them on any given rainy Seattle day; they are super cute and I get tons of compliments.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wanted to love these I have been coveting these boots for ages and when they went on sale I was so excited. The fit is just awkward. I was hoping for a dressier version of my current rubber Wellington style boots. The leather in the shaft is just sort of frumpy. I have exchanged for a shorter style. (Also, you definitely need to order a 1/2 size up from your normal shoe size)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strange sizing, beautiful boot I bought these boots from another trusted store (as opposed to Sorel.com), as my third pair of Sorel boots. I currently have 2 pair of Tofino and one retired pair of Joan of Arc, all of which I have worn my true size, a size 10. I wanted a boot that was 1.) stylish 2.) could easily slip on/off and 3.) was waterproof for rain and snow. After seeing my boss with these beauties, I decided to take the plunge and order for myself (a half size up, at at 10.5). The size 10.5 was so tight and actually only fit on one leg! Mind you I have never bought/needed wide-calf boots. They were also so "scrunchy" that the shaft caved in very much on both feet when I stood up, and when I walked (see picture). Keeping these reviews in mind, I returned my size 10.5 for a size 11. Ding ding ding, I could get both of them on! However, the scrunchy-ness was still apparent, which was a physical flaw to me. Not to mention, I feel that the rubber duck part is a wee bit too big. Are the boots warm? Absolutely! My first day wearing them after a week of rain in Chicago, I had to wear thinner socks because I was a little toasty! Which obviously affects the already slightly large fit. Are the boots beautiful? YES! They leather feels like velvet, but because the shaft scrunches, I am worried about it creasing (see picture). Are they comfortable! Yes! It feels like I'm not wearing anything, let alone a tall boot with a little heel. Overall, I would recommend these boots to anyone, in addition to the information I've provided about my experience with the fit. Other people seem to love them, so maybe I'm just weird.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Stiff Boot I loved Sorel boots. I have four pairs. I ordered these thinking they would be a nice everyday Boot while living in the mountains. They were so stiff and across the top of my foot there lots of pressure. The calf of the boot is very wide too. It's seemed the boot is not proportionate from the foot bed to shaft of the boot. I sent them back. I found another pair of boots the Carly short boot which was much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Style & Weather Boots Bought these as a gift for a friend, and she absolutely loves them. She has messaged me at least 3 different times to say "THANK YOU!!!" and "LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THEM!!" She's a size 8 and the 8 fit perfect with thin socks, but we exchanged for an 8.5 so she could wear with thicker socks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from recommend with reservations Loved the boot, got them for riding, which they are great for, no need for half chap and good in wet weather. They run a bit small so I had to size up one half size. the two adjusting buckles on the back are great so the fit is good with jeans or breeches. The heels of the boots came loose after a few months, I sent them back and got credit, liked them so much I ordered a second pair. The lining in one of the boots is baggy around the back of the calf and around the ankle so I am suspect as to the longevity of this lining. I still wear them every day, but wonder how long they will hold up. Love the design and how I can use them but the construction is a bit lame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sorel seems to run a little small Gorgeous boots, unfortunately a little on the small side. Google search resulted in many other similar complaints. I hope Sorel fixes this minor problem and I won't have to jump through hoops to get the footwear I want. Top quality product however.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Miss the old version I just ordered a pair of the Women's Slimpack Riding Tall II Duck Boot and was saddened to see there are no longer two handles located just inside each boot to help you with pulling on the boot. Why would Sorel get rid of those? It was such a smart feature. I was also sad to see Sorel got rid of the "wrap around" leather feature where the leather wrapped under the sole of the boot. It was a really cool look that I got lots of compliments on. Please bring these two features back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this boot! It's time to grow up and toss those Hunters ladies - this is the perfect rain boot. These boots were comfortable from day one, and I have worn them in rain, slushy snow-melting days, and straight up snow storms. They are warm enough with just a touch of lining so it's not just your foot against rubber. The leather upper is beautiful and waterproof as advertised. These boots are also awesome if you have small calves, as the back adjusts to make them smaller or larger. Lastly, these are super cute. I have gotten compliments on them every time I have worn them - both to work or just out and about. The black can be dressed up a bit (I've worn with a wool skirt and leggings and also with jeans). The only reason I put good and not excellent for quality is that the lining is coming apart from the leather in the body of the boot shaft. It's still attached at the top, I just would've expected this to happen later, not within the first two months of owning the boot. Still, it's minor and only seen by me when I put them on. I would own these boots in every color if I could.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Run small I am always hesitant buying shoes online without being able to try them on. I read all the reviews on these boots and most said they ran small. I took the advice and instead of ordering my normal size 11, I ordered a size 12. I'm really glad I did because my toes are at the end with just enough space between my toes and shoes so that they aren't touching. I've only had my boots for about 2 weeks now and they are comfortable. So far so good. Hoping they last a long time for the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Small It's possible my foot would fit into the boot, but since it was impossible to get my foot through the bend in the boot, I will never know. Paid $30 to return these. I bought another pair of Sorel snow boots at the same time and those fit fine, so this seems to be a design flaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish rain boot I didnt care for the look in pictures, but they are beautiful in person. I was very concerned about size bc everyone seems to say they run small, but I wear a 9 and the 9 fit perfectly. Other Sorel boots fit me at an 8.5 but these ones seem true to size. I especially love the color/discoloration of the leather that occurs upon wearing them and breaking in. We shall see if they are truly water-proof when I take them to Europe next week. I was beyond thrilled to find a stylish and cute rain boot for my trip to the UK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great multi season boot This is the second pair of Slimpack boots for me. I have loved the first pair and I receive compliments every time I wear them-so just had to have another pair when I saw they were on sale. Great for cold winter weather if you wear a warm sock, but also great for spring rains-feet do not get too hot.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The style has changed I have skinny calfs so there was a lot of room and they seem too big around my calfs. Other friends have the older style and I liked them better. They weren't for me but if you have really muscular calfs you might like them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this boot! Love the boot. I've had it on everyday since I received it. It's well made, sturdy and keeps the feet warm and dry on cold snowy days. The boot is sized a bit small. I wear a solid 8 1/2 but had to send it back (at my own expense, you could improve there Sorel) in exchange for a size 9. Otherwise, this is a great boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Winter Boot I love these boots for winter. They are perfect for snow and warmth. This is my second pair. My first pair was when they first came out and looked more like riding boots. I wore them out, had them repaired and wore them out again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Although I liked this boot in the photos and purchased it as a stylish rain boot I didn't like it in person. The quality seemed good, but the fit on the leg was very boxy and not what I'd hoped. I typically like ordering online and appreciate I can find things I haven't found in the store, which was the case here. But I will never order from Sorel again due to the fact that I had to pay $28 in shipping to find out I didn't like this boot, $6 to ship to me, $22 to return.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They don't make them like they used to... I have a pair from a couple years ago that I absolutely love. They are high quality and very comfortable to wear. I purchased a pair online recently and when the boots arrived, sadly the fit wasn't the same, I ordered 1.5 sizes up and they are still painfully small. The quality also isn't worth the price... i'm better off paying someone to fix up my old pair. No wonder these boots are 35% off right now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Small & not good quality Hi i own 2 pairs of this boots from 2015 and they fit perflectly fine the quality its A+ , But in 2016 i order another pair cause i love them so much but they are making them differently the quality inside and out are not the same this quality is poor, inside now its not leather anymore and that make you sweat and also its very very wrong in size im a size 9 and this boots are like a 7.5 and when i was going to return them i have to pay $30 UPS return fee myself. I LOVE SOREL I HAVE MANY BOOTS 12 pairs of SOREL boots but this ones i wont recomend ( the ones were manufactured on 2016) cause are "poor" quality and not true in size at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too small two times I ordered a 9.5 since all the reviews said the ran small, when I'm typically a 9. They arrived and were very short. My toes were crammed. I called and had them ship me another pair in a 10 and had to return the original to a Columbia store. The 10 arrived and felt no different. Still way too tight on my toes. Returned those and just gave up. Having to go up a size and a half is crazy! Every pair of Sorels I've tried on/or bought fits different from the next. Your sizing really needs to be closer from one boot to another. I don't think I'll order another pair online without trying them on first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love love these boots! I can't take these boots off. They are incredibly comfortable. I ordered a half size up from my usual size based on previous reviews. I am very happy with the fit. I can wear thick socks, but the boots are still comfortable and not overly roomy with a thinner pair of socks. I hope that Sorel keeps making these boots! I will definitely buy again. My only concern is that with time/wear the stitching where the leather and rubber duck boot meet will start to unravel, and that the tread/heel will wear down. I think these boots are solid in construction, but these two places seem a little vulnerable to wear & tear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They fit perfectly! I love these boots! They look and feel great! Please don't listen to any of the reviews that say they run small. I did listen and ended up having to go through all the hassle of returning size 9s when my correct size, size 8 would've been fine to start with. I even wear them with thicker wool socks. They fit fine and my feet are warm all day; granted it doesn't get extremely cold here they are still very comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fall/winter boot with class! I had been looking for a tall boot that I could wear in the winter with all the snow I have to walk through for work. I was damaging my leather boots and spending more money on replacing them than being able to revive them. Once I found these Sorel boots, I knew I had found the solution!! They have worked like a charm and easy to wipe away any salt from the snow covered parking lots and easy to care for. They did need some breaking in as they were a little stiff at first but all in alll a great boot! They are also dressy enough to wear with leggings and a dress. I would suggest getting a half size bigger than what you wear as they seem to run small. I wear a 7.5 and ordered an 8 and they are perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love These Love these boots as recommended in other reviews I sized up I usually wear a 8.5 or 9 but ordered a 9.5 they fit perfect. You will definitely need to wear thick socks if you are out in the snow! Tons of complements! They were my first pair of boots from Sorel & I'm ordering more today can't wait to get my next pair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots My boyfriend picked these boots out and I love them! I have had a bad a experience with Sorel before and I hate that these boots are so expensive and then you have to pay for shipping when you have already been to the store but you cannot bc they do not have your size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love them, but already falling apart I bought these boots about a month and a half ago and I absolutely loved them! If I had reviewed them then, I definitely would have given them a 5/5. They're comfortable, look great, and are perfect for rain or light snow/slush. I ended up ordering one size up and they fit great. However, after less than two months of wear, the heel of the right boot is loose-near-falling-off and the left heel is also becoming loose. I've only ever used them for walking around (in Boston, if that's relevant) and they have seen absolutely no hard wear. I'm really disappointed because I love them so much! I've put in a warranty claim, so hopefully they're fixable and I can get my favorite boots back!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I have wanted a pair of these for years, I finally spent the money and bought a pair(1st pair). I wore them once and the heel was falling apart. Columbia was great and returned them without question. The second pair I purchased have been just as disappointing. The size 9's didn't fit me for some reason so I had to go up to a size 10 which were then too large. I was willing to deal with this thinking I could wear thick socks. A few weeks later I was thankful to have them because it was pouring rain, as it does in the PNW. I was out on a walk in the rain with my son when all of a sudden I realized the bottom of my feet were soaked, they leak for some reason. At this point I had worn them quite a bit so I didn't even try taking them back. I am SO bummed they aren't waterproof as stated especially for the high price! I have many other pairs of Sorel shoes that I love. These boots seem to be a poor representation of Sorel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just what you expect I just received them today and couldn't wait to tear into the box! I absolutely love them. I can't wait to wear them. I am a size 6 typically, and after reading other's reviews ordered a 6.5 and they fit perfect. I'm so glad I ordered these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These boots are great! I ordered these boots for my daughter in law- we both absolutely love them! I may be ordering some for myself! They are extremely comfortable- plenty of toe room and lots of cushion! They are also very cute!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique, Stylish Boot I love the unique style of this boot. I like that the shoe part is waterproof. Not as keen on the fact that the upper is not. The upper feels just a bit flimsy and I worry about future wear and tear on it. The first time I had them on, I got a lot of compliments on them... they look great! As long as they hold up to the elements (in the midwest), I'll be happy with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IN LOVE with these boots When looking for a great winter boots I can enjoy wearing in doors and out, I came upon these from Sorel. I couldn't have asked for a better product. When I put them on, they immediately were comfortable and wearable (no breaking in necessary) and I could feel how durable they are. I find them perfect for the snow in Minneapolis. Even though they aren't the warmest boots offered, they serve me warm enough with some wool socks. I would recommend ordering a half size up (i'm usually a size 7 and ordered a 7.5) because they fit me perfectly when I did so. The tall shaft has adjustable upper backs which is super helpful. Sometimes I have trouble finding boots that fit my calves well, but these were not a problem at all! I would recommend these to anyone who is wondering if they are worth the investment. I know I am so glad I splurged and got them for my hard winters up north!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Size I was so excited to get these boots, but they were too small. Totally bummed as I wasn't able to find my size to order. I did, however, go with another style and I love them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slim Boot for Slim Claves This boot is far too slim in the calf area. I saw the buckles on the back thinking I might be able to loosen them if needed but this was not the case. If you ever have this issue buying tall boots I would say don't risk it. Overall good quality and I would wear these on rainy days no problem, unfortunately, had to return.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great everyday fall/winter boot I love these boots. I had last years model and the side seam became unraveled. I returned them to Sorel to see if they could be fixed, and they indicated they could not and gave me a full credit for the original price, so I bought these! And I like these a lot better. The rubber foot bed is narrower so its not as clunky looking. They are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time or lots of walking. The only downside is they are not super warm when its cold or snowy out, so you just need to make sure you have extra warm socks on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from color very different than online My boots literally just arrived. I was so excited to open the box and then so disappointed to see the color was so different from the picture online. I ordered the "dark fog/silver sage" and the leather looks very dark brown. However, when taking the boots off, I noticed from wiggling them off, the leather started to change colors (basically fade) in the areas where the leather shaft wrinkled while taking it off my leg. That leads to me to believe the color may fade overall. All that being said, I did order a 1/2 size up based on previous reviews and am happy with that choice. Initially they feel comfortable but since I really haven't worn them yet, I can't give better feedback.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Boot! The overall construction of this boot is bomber. They are insulated nicely and the footbed is very comfortable. I have yet to wear them for a full day, so I will adjust this review later as needed. Normally I wear a size 6, and generally I'm on the smaller side of a 6 (sometimes I wear a 5.5). I ordered these boots in a 6.5 based on some other reviews. I noticed that with a thin pair of socks, the boots fit but there is some room in the toes, however with a thick sock, they fit perfectly. It also gives room in the boot so your feet aren't getting squished, or if they swell from walking all day. The insulation is really nice and takes up some room as well, and the adjustable strap on the back allows for bigger calves or larger pants to fit inside. Overall I recommend going up 1/2 a size just to be safe. These boots are awesome and look really sleek. I can't wait for colder weather to wear them all the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs small I measured my foot with the guidelines that SOREL has on its website, and then I ordered the boots a half size bigger just to be safe (I measured at an 8 and ordered an 8.5). When I got the boots, they were too small. I spent over $20 in shipping to return them and contacted SOREL's customer service but they wouldn't refund the shipping (even though their measurements were wrong). I ended up re-ordering them in a size 9 and they fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Boot I've just received the black/kettle color. Shipping was fast. They are gorgeous. I've received compliments every time I've worn my other slim pack boots. Positive these will receive the same compliments. Ordered size 6.5, the same size I get for other slim pack boots I have, and these are slightly smaller. My toe is touching the tip, I will not be able to wear really thick socks. My other boots stretched out a bit after wear, hoping these will also. But I can deal with this size. I love the buckles that allow to tighten or lessen the calve. I found no issues pulling these on and off like others have, it must depend on the individual person's foot/calve shape. I have average feet, I could see with a larger size and person's foot and calves it still would be easy to pull these on as they would be bigger boots. They are not really stiff boots, they have structure but with a lot of give. The padding is a bonus and I love that it's in this boot, given the fact that I will not be able to wear really thick socks. I would give five stars if I didn't always have to get different sizes for dif styles with Sorel boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must buy! I am extremely happy that I purchased these boots! I was worried that they would be clunky but they are not. I love that you can make them smaller around your calf or bigger. They are true to size if you have a thin sock on but just a tad tight if you have a thicker sock on. I'm not sure if I'd half size up or not. These are very stylish and looks great with leggings or skinny jeans. Looking forward to wearing them when it starts raining!!
