Women's Out 'N About™ Leather Duck Boot is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 156.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Won't last more than one season These were so cute & I had so much faith in the Sorel name, my daughter and I both bought a pair. They're definitely cute & moderately comfortable but the quality is poor. They came apart at the seams in less than a year. Pathetic warranty (customer service is super friendly, though). For the same $, buy something with a lifetime guarantee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rain or snow with style I'm a size 8.5 and I got a size 9 due to the reviews and size 9 worked out perfectly! Love the simplicity of the boot and the style. I've also worn these in the snow and they worked out great. Also, I did get these in the black colorway so I can have them go with just about any outfit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! I initially bought a size 6, however had to exchange for a 6.5 - I would def recommend sizing up, especially if you're wanting to wear thicker socks. They require a little breaking in because the leather is quite stiff, however it only takes a wear or two. They're very comfortable and look super cute with everything. 10/10 - Would do again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice boot! This is my first Sorel boot and I love it! It is perfect for our rainy Oregon days as my feet are warm and dry when running errands. I wear an 8.5, but found it to be too short. Sized up to a 9 and the fit is perfect. Plan to get a lot of wear from this cute boot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect boot! This boot is perfect for South Georgia weather!!! I've been wanting a good water proof, warm but stylish boot and I've found it! I have worn them for several days in a row and they are very comfy and kept my feet dry and warm...PERFECT! The sizing is a bit off though. I normally wear a 7 but after reading all the reviews I ordered a 7.5 and the fit is great!! I can even wear my warm, thick wool socks and have room for my toes to move around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Shoe, Get a bigger size I really love these shoes. They look great and they are practical. My only issue is they run small - a whole size too small. I wear an 8 and ended up ordering a 9 and they fit perfect. Also, the customer service I received when ordering these shoes was fantastic.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute shoe, odd fit After reading many reviews stating these run very small, I ordered two different sizes (both larger than then my usual size). Unless the two pairs that I got were complete oddballs, I think these boots actually run quite LARGE, in terms of length from toe to heel. BUT, the upper leather portion of the boot on the ankle/top of foot is so extremely stiff that the boot seems tight. Basically, the fit is weird. I don't know if the leather will become more malleable over time, but I'm kind of hoping it won't because then the boot will fall off of me. For reference, I generally wear a 7-7.5, I ordered 8 and 8.5 and even the 8 allows a good 2 inches between my toes and tip of boot. The only thing keeping these on is the tight leather and laces (which, BTW, are kind of a pain to keep tied tight.) I'd exchange them again, but I've worn them several times already. The upside is they are really cute :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very small I ordered both the Out N About Leather lace up & the Chelsea which is a slip on and the sizing is completely different for each. The lace up Leather is very cute but they run very small and I had to return it. It has a very classic duck boot look that I liked but I went with the Chelsea instead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ducking Cute I've had my eyes on these boots for a few years, and finally got them! They fit small and are already snug around the toes so I highly recommend getting a 1/2 size bigger then what you normally wear in Sorel (I had to return mine and get a size bigger.. simple exchange no hassels). Compliments my Vegas winter style to the gym, or casual dinner date. Goes great with leggings, jeans and skirts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from want to love them First order was too small. Definitely size up BUT a full size might be too big. I'm feeling like now that I have a size up they look way bigger on me...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing Good I usually wear a size 7.5, but when I tried those on they were to tight, my toes were rubbing. I got the 8 which were too big, felt like a whole size too big but I got it to wear during the winter with double or thick socks and it worked but even then there is no insulation so my feet was cold but I liked the shoes. the 2nd time I wore the shoes the leather lace loop ripped as I was trying to tie my shoe laces. I took into the store and they were very accommodating. I ended up having to order the size 8s online because they were out. When it arrived they fit just like the size 7.5 did, uncomfortably. Not to mention the rigged soles were not glued on right the shoe looked uneven. I will be returning these and not ordering another pair because I'm already dealing with a large order that when they arrived appeared worn, dirty, and couple were defective. I was told it was dust from the warehouse and to dust it off with a rag. This is too much work for expensive "quality shoes." IF i was to ever buy another pair of Sorels it would be hand picked at the store to make sure I wasn't getting a used or defective pair and hope it doesn't fall apart within 2 wears. Pretty disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed When I purchased these shoes just over a year ago, I was very excited. I had always wanted a pair of Sorels, but now I'm doubtful that I'll ever buy a pair again. The year that I had them they were true to function. They kept my feet dry, they were comfy, and I liked how they looked! However just within the last few weeks not only have the cracked on the rubber toe, but the lining has torn, and there must be a crack in the bottom as well because they are no longer keeping my feet as dry nor as warm as they once did. My first thought was to send them in and get them repaired, however Sorel's return policy only lasts one year. I have BARELY had these over a year and I paid 115 dollars for them so I expect them to be long-lasting. I should be able to wear shoes like this for years before encountering a problems like these. Despite the fact that I love Sorel's designs, I no longer trust their quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Runs small Disappointed with this product. I have several Sorel products and all are size 7. This boot did not fit in my size and there is no exchange policy only returns making it difficult for consumer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too narrow I was very excited to purchase my first pair of sorel boots. I tried on my first pair in Toronto 2016 and have been wanting a pair since Toronto. I purchased my boots in December 2016 and unfortunately wore the boots or I would have returned them. They are very narrow and my baby toe cramped up. Also, the top of the boot is squeezing my foot. I desperately wish I could return them. I might have to spend money to get them stretched. I'm greatly disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wear these booties everyday These boots are high quality and lightweight. As most others have said they do fit small. My toe was right up against the very end when I first put them on. They do break in rather quickly and they stretched out so my feet are very comfortable in them. I'm not sure that you would want to go up an entire size with these but if you fit on the big side of your normal size you would probably be okay going up one size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get ONE FULL SIZE BIGGER I read other reviews to get Sorel shoes in a half size bigger but I am typically a size 9 and the 9.5 were much too small and give me blisters at my heel. I would only recommend buying these shoes if you have had the opportunity of trying them on in person in a store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Everyday Boot! I am so happy with this purchase. I was looking for a everyday shoe that will keep my feet dry if there is snow on the sidewalks but I didn't want a full on snow boot (overkill on a nice winter day). I ordered a half size up and it they fit great! I always wear wool socks which keep my feet warm and keep the ankle of the boots from rubbing which I think they would with just athletic socks. There is no insulation so I would not plan on wearing these outside in freezing temps for long periods of time. These are perfect, they are great to wear snow or no snow and they are super cute!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! I received these in the mail a couple weeks back now and have worn them almost every day since! I followed the suggestion to order a whole size up and glad I did! They fit great even when I wear thick winter socks! I've worn these on long walks and my feet haven't once felt sore, I also walk down slick wet side walks every day on the way to work and the traction on the bottom of the shoes has helped so much! These are my new favorite every day boots, I highly recommend them :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Obsessed with these boots I love these boots! I have flat feet and find these boots incredibly comfortable and fashionable. The quality is perfect, keeping my feet warm with the perfect shade of brown leather on the elk color choice. The boot is not made to be like a snow boot but I am definitely wearing these boots in the snow with a normal sock and still finding my feet stay incredibly warm. I wear a size 10.5 usually and found the 11 to be a perfect fit with plenty of room. The 10.5 I could have kept with thin socks but found my toes a little snug.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and Dry Love the look of the shoe. Size runs small so order half to whole size larger than normal. Comfortable.Keeps feet warm and dry. They are a little difficult to put on, but most "duck" type boots are. I would have liked for the opening to be a little smaller since my ankles are small. There is a big gap around by ankles when I wear them. This doesn't cause any problems, just would like them to fit a bit more in that area.Overall a great shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish & Functional Love these boots! I read many reviews before buying them and ordered a size up, perfect fit and plenty of room for my wool socks. I recommend wearing thick tall socks or tucking your jeans in because they can rub on your ankles before they are worn in.
Date published: 2016-12-02
Rated 4 out of 5 by from New pairs run smaller than before I've had a pair of these for 2 years that I've worn to the ground. I put them through the works and the Rubber sole just now started to pull apart from the leather upper so it's time for a new pair. I never buy the same shoes twice, but I loved these so much I couldn't say goodbye. However, I ordered a pair in 8.5, which is what my current Out N About boots are, and they are too small. 8.5 used to be roomy enough for wool socks and now my toes jammed into the front. Returning for a 9.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for I wanted a short leather boot that was cute, functional (read: waterproof), and durable. After reading the reviews, I settled on these and have worn them pretty much every other day since they arrived. I went up half a size (usually a 6.5), so they fit me comfortably with socks, but I'd definitely recommend that your socks come up over the edge of the boots, or that your pants/leggings/tights go down into them; the leather is pretty rigid and can bang up your ankles if you aren't careful. I'm guessing that after some wear the stiffness will subside a little, but I was expecting it from a waterproof boot, so no harm no foul. Overall, I love these boots and know that next time I'm in the market, Sorel will be my first choice!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute but style needs improvement I really wanted to like these, they are cute but the side edges dig into your legs.perhaps the manufacturer could add some cushion. I did order a whole size up as the reviewers had suggested and the size was perfect for me. Unfortunately I had to return these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy I bought 2 of the out n about one a size smaller than regular. I regretted getting a smaller size. I was just getting out of the hospital and making a move so I missed returning the smaller size. I donated them to a social worker to give to a needed client. I found my regular size fit great. I have a wide foot. The boots are well made. I noticed the colors I got are not available this year. I will order a 2nd pair soon. I love Sorel boots. I got a Premium CVS 1964 also in a smaller size based on reviews. I will always order my regular size now. I got my Angel Snow Lace today, my 4th boot. Definitely a company to return too. The only thing I wish was different on the out n about is the shoe lace. I want a longer lace. The boot is great for walking my dogs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE! After reading reviews, I also sized up one size larger than my usual size (but becoming my usual size for Sorel)--this also helps for wearing thicker socks. I think that the boots are very comfortable--no problems when I first started wearing them and can walk in them all day. I really like that they are cute--but also functional. I can't wait for a bit of snow!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love these but they can improve After reading many reviews that complained that this style ran small, I took a chance and ordered my regular size. I really wanted the sage color and finally found it on another retailer that had a high shipping for Hawaii, didn't want to mess around with different sizes. I'm usually a 6 but can sometimes fit in a 5.5. I always take a euro size 36. Since Sorel's chart states a 6 is a 37, I was concerned about ordering up so I ordered a 6. It fit and I think I can explain why size has been an issue for so many others. It's the liner that is poorly constructed. My first reaction was the shoe was too small but noticed that I felt like my toes were being crowded by scrunched up material. When I looked at the sole of the shoe compared to my other shoes, the sizing seemed fine. So I pulled out the liners (no glue, easily removable). The liner is a little long for the shoe and that combined with the slight turned up toe causes the crowding in the toe area. I could see multiple creases in the liner as the excess length was smashed into the toe. The shoe was now very roomy, I would need thicker socks to wear it without the liner. I put the liners back in and one side now fit perfect as the liner was no longer scrunched up by the toe after I reinserted and shifted it around. It was snug but that felt better than loose as the inside of the leather feels stiff right now and rubs more when the shoe is loose. The liner on the left side is still too much in the toe but I'll try to reinsert after I wear once with thick socks/no liner to soften up the leather. Or I may trim the liner later if that doesn't work. Also when it comes to ankle boot styles I find I typically don't have to size up even though others may because I have a narrow heel and don't have much of an arch. Usually boots that run smaller fit me well as I get the length I need without heel slippage. I am also able to slide my foot into no zip boots quite easily due to my minimal arch. Someone with a high arch will always have more difficulty slipping their foot into a stiff ankle boot with no zipper. Also a higher arch foot may sit up higher in the shoe and the liner isn't leaving enough space if one has an high arch (not a problem for me). These are super cute but stiff and in crossing my fingers that they loosen up with a wear or two so I can wear low socks as I live in a warm climate.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too Small I was really excited to get these boots after they arrived in the mail and was total bummed when I tried them on. I loved the boots, but they were way to small! I'm normally a size 7, but after a lot of shopping I fit in an 8 1/2. I needed them for a specific event that with s/h wait time made it impossible to work. My biggest complaint is that it was free shipping to receive the boots, BUT it cost me $20 to return!!! It seems crazy to lose $20 for a boot you love, but just didn't fit!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from RUNS VERY SMALL I happened across these boots at a DSW in the clearance and tried them on even though they were not my size. I normally wear 6/6.5 in Sorel and they were a size 7, but THEY FIT SNUG! I was astonished. No sorel boot that I have ever worn has fit so tight that I've had to go up an entire size. SIZE UP PEOPLE! & Although the ankle fits loose, it is very stiff and uncomfortable to walk in. It also looked extremely awkward tucking the bottom of my jeans in because the ankles are so low, you'd have to roll them up or wear leggings. I love sorel, and these are cute, but there are better sorel boots worth this price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love these boots, but they don't last I absolutely love these boots, so cute and are great in rain. However, they did not even make it through one fall/winter without the soles wearing almost to nothing. One ripped right in the back and now water leaks in with every wear. Love them, but question buying them again due to quality.
Date published: 2016-10-12
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too stiff at the ankle-ouch. They appear to be good quality and are so cute, but I have to wear them with thick socks to protect my ankles from having the skin rubbed off. Without socks they are so painful. Otherwise, they are fine rain shoes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Soles broke - no arch support DON'T BUY THESE BOOTS! Bought them last winter and was very excited because it's so cute and all that jazz. Ordered one size up, which was a good idea, and indeed it looks great on my feet! BUT. For starters, absolutely no arch support. This was the first shoe I ever had this kind of problem with, and so far the last. Fixed it with one of those ergonomic insoles and it was okayish to go. AND THEN IT DIDN'T EVEN LAST ONE WINTER!!! I am talking about 3 months of use. BOTH soles simply tore holes by the heel, rendering it very much not waterproof anymore. My socks get completely soaked either in rain or snow. Again, first shoe I ever had this kind of problem before. I get it that this model was not meant to be a full on snow boot for the rest of my life but this is unacceptable. VERY, VERY POOR QUALITY. Do not recommend I guess?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Out N About I LOVE THESE BOOTS! They are a tad tight in the toes, but I'm not sure if its because I have long toes. They're so comfortable though and i wear them as much as i can!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I really wanted to like these but... These were pretty much my dream boot when I saw them, so I got them right away. First off they ran small, which I expected, so that was fine. They were also really stiff around the ankle part, so much so the it was painful even when wearing socks or tucking my jeans into them. I'm wore them for a while (like a few months) to try and break them in, but that never really happened. I eventually got rid of them because they were kinda painful to wear. Also, the tounge on the right boot was kinda wonky, like it wasn't sewn properly? It was probably a fluke since all of the other pairs of sorels I have ever had were top quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits just right I looked at all the reviews and sized up a whole size. I normally wear a size 8.5 to a 9 but I didn't want to get them too small. So I looked at review after review and went for a 9.5. They came today and were too Big! I am not sure why everyone is saying they run small.. they don't. The material is stiff---which is great because they feel durable but they are sized just right. If you are going to size up only size up a half size so that you can wear them with thick socks. I had to send them back and now wait for a new pair to arrive :( But they are soon cute!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great boot I bought this boot for a trips to Ireland and Iceland They are lightweight enough for travel, warm enough for the cooler climate and are a cute shoe as well. They go well with jeans or other pants. I wanted something that would keep my feet warm, be comfortable, and would also look good. I bought nearly a whole size up (I am usually an 8, and I bought these in a 9). The larger size fits well. I have noticed that Sorel runs quite small for me; I have narrow and high arched feet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from On trend style, poor fit I have ordered these shoes twice in the last 2 years, hoping Sorel would correct the fit. I am a size 10 and have ordered a size 10 1/2 last year and a 10 again this year, hoping the fit had been corrected and because that was the largest size that was available. Yet, again, I will be returning these, as they are too short and feel very strange, in general, on my feet. It's too bad, because they look to be excellent quality, as is every shoe I have ever bought from Sorel, and they are right on point, stylewise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shoes don't fit Had to order twice because the fit was wrong. Awesome looking shoes, just not for my feet. Stuck with sorel because I can only get instore credit, but nothing fits right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alaskan adventure I have worn these every day for 2 weeks on my travels from WA state north to AK. The leather was only stiff on first wear, well constructed, no Irish pennants on stitching. I highly recommend for wet terrain the soles have excellent traction out there on the Pacific NW forests.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Craftsmanship, Not as Comfy as Expected These shoes are made well, and the materials used are high quality. I normally wear a 7.5, I bought an 8 and I wish I had bought an 8.5. If you plan on wearing hiking socks or fluffy socks, make sure you go up a FULL size. The leather used on this does not stretch like you'd think it would. Mine are still a struggle to get on. Love them, would recommend them, just go up a FULL size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The bottom broke after three months I purchased this for my mom as xmas gift in Dec 2015. She only wears them when she goes out with our dog for max. 15 min. walks occasionally and the rubber on the bottom of the heels broke after ONLY three months of use and the quality of this product is very disappointing! We thought it would last a little longer than a few month use, now she can't wear it anymore because her socks get wet and where we live rain often.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as small as reviewed I ordered one size up as was recommend because the reviews all said how small they fit. I would have been fine with 1/2 size up instead of a whole size because I feel like they fit a bit too big now. Quite disappointed as it will be a huge hassle for me to return them. The tongue is also extremely bulky and makes the fit rather uncomfortable.
