How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by Warm but Bulky I like these boots HOWEVER they are extremely bulky. The length of the boot is perfect and true to size, however there is so much extra room above and on the sides of my feel. I feel like my feet look two sizes bigger than they are and the boots are somewhat difficult to walk in due to the bulkiness. On a positive note, they are extremely warm which is the most important thing to me. The snap that keeps the liner in comes undone EVERY time I wear them. January 29, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not warm I bought this item after reading the reviews and i bought a 7 1/2 and fit perfectly BUT my feet dont stay warm at all when i go oyt on the powder, the bottom of my feet get cold. size was fine and thwy look great but not as warm as advertise January 27, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by A little too narrow Lengthwise they fit great but they are a little narrow. I am hoping they will stretch a bit. January 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jazzy Boot! I went into the store and tried on a size 9.5 they fit perfect that to me is not the right fit my toe was at the tip of the boot and my daughter has a 10 in Sorel boots she got freshman year of High School now she is a freshman in college I ordered her a size 11 in Joan of Artic for her birthday I think it should fit with a boot sock. Her old Sorels she said could be a 1/2 size bigger.I think if you are going to purchase a pair of boots you should go into the store try on the boots with boot socks walk around the store get a feel for them.I wouldn't size down.Happy Shopping! I hope this review was helpful. January 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by SO WARM!!!! I was very hesitant buying these boots and choosing a size after reading all the reviews about these boots being too small, narrow, and tight. I measured my foot as Sorel said and I measured right at size 9 (my usual shoe size). After reading all the reviews I decided to order a 9.5 My boots arrived and I instantly tried them on. They fit me really well. I have room in them to wear thick socks for outdoor activities, which I wanted. With that said, I feel I totally could have fit into my usual size 9 though. I would not recommend ordering up a full size from your usual, if you want a little extra room just do a half size. These boots are super comfortable, super warm, and super cute!!! I don't think I have ever had such a warm boot in my life and I have lived in the upper midwest my entire life! I will definitely be getting lots of use out of these attractive and functional boots! January 22, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by my toes are as cold as ice! These boots are beautiful! I love the colors. They rub my Achilles but I think once I break them in more they wont rub. They are very stiff at first. I bought these because I have Raynauds (a circulation disorder). These boots DO NOT keep my feet warm what so ever.... Being rated at a -32 degrees Fahrenheit is a joke. I was inside a temperature regulated horse stable for an hour and a half that was 52 degrees inside while it was 24 degrees outside. My feet should've been warm. I do like these boots but am very disappointed I spent so much on them in hopes of "toasty toes". Guess I will keep searching for the right boot! January 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by TONS OF COMPLIMENTS... So functional too I just received these and am in love with them. I wear a size 8 shoe and these fit perfect for me in a size 8. Yes the backs are stiff at bottom of calf but isn't terrible, they're getting more comfortable as I wear them. They're stiffer there to hold the shape of the boot. I have received TONS OF COMPLIMENTS!!! I have the gray with hot pink laces and chevron pattern. Just ordered the liners with the fur so I can switch out the look, will have to buy black laces too (wish sorel sold laces). They're SUPER warm and keep my feet completely dry!! You will love these boots, just wear them for a few hours at a time while you break them in. January 17, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not What I Expected I ordered a half size bigger after reading the reviews. They fit the length of my foot perfectly but were extremely wide. The calf portion of the boot was also wide and when I walked in them the sides rubbed on the back and sides of my legs. They were very uncomfortable. The boots are very cute and I wish they had fit better. I ended up returning them for a better fitting boot. January 17, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Love Sorel Boots, But This One is Clunky I should start off by saying that I absolutely love Sorel boots. I have the Joan of Arctic Wedge Mid Boot in an 8.5 that I literally wear every day, all day, and are so comfortable! But these snow boots are a different story. They are very well made, sturdy, and warm, but the fit just isn't there for me. I ordered these in a size 10 because, when trying on the boot in store I really had to squeeze into a 9.5. I have thick ankles and large calves from playing sports, and the top of the boot hits me right at the widest point. I think it's in part because of the insert that sticks out a lot more on the sides than I thought it would. The heel of the boot also digs into my ankles fairly aggressively, to the point where I couldn't imagine walking in them without several thick socks on. I ordered them in Shale in part because I wanted the red accents, but they are actually a very bright hot pink. I'm returning them for a different snow boot. Even though these boots didn't work out, I still love the Sorel brand and intend on growing my collection in the future - just maybe not with these particular boots. :) January 15, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Way too small I agonized over which boots, and what size to buy. Finally settled on these ones. These arrived fairly quickly after I placed my order, but they were WAY too small. I always wear a size 11, and even went so far as to measure my foot on a piece of paper by drawing lines and measuring, as the size chart instructs. I am very disappointed that they did not fit, as they appeared to be high quality, warm winter boots. I just reordered a different pair, because when I was trying these on, I felt the hard plastic ridge in the back of the boot that others described in their reviews, and I wasn't thrilled with how the boots fit in general at the top. If I'm going to spend $170 on a pair of boots, I want to love them! I will add to the chorus of people who urge Sorel to provide return shipping. I had to pay to ship my boots back via usps, and until they receive my return, I will have 2 charges on my credit card for the old ones, and the new pair. But, I live in Rhode Island, and don't want to be without boots when it finally starts snowing! My advice is to order a size up. In my case, I went a full size up, because I had no choice - there are no size 11.5 boots on here. However, given how tight the 11's were, I feel like that would have been necessary anyways. I just ordered the Tofino boots. Hope these work out better!! January 14, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cute colors, but not worth the price Boots are very cute and the colors are nice and trendy. I got the Gray with orange highlights. It is a bit small so I recommend going up a half size. I was a bit disappointed how big their appearance was and thought maybe that was because they were so insulated and warm. Unfortunately not. Instead of going up a half size I'll just be returning them and looking for something else. January 10, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by "Knit" pad makes the top difficult to lace I was excited to try these cute new boots, but unfortunately, the colorful knit detail at the top is a very thick (~1/2" each side) pad that attaches only at the top of the liner). The boot laces normally until the top where this pad begins, and then it becomes very difficult to lace the boot well to avoid snow entering the boot. If you are buying these boots for fashion in cold weather only, then they may be fine to lace more loosely. However, if you intend to use these to keep out heavy snow as I do in Maine, these will NEVER work for you. I had to return them. Incidentally, the tongue of the boots is leather only, and has no insulation like some of my previous pairs of Sorel boots, which was also a disappointment. I don't feel these deserve Sorel's rating for "Heavy Snow." December 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love these but they run small These boots are amazing but I am going to have to exchange for a larger size. They def run on the small size! December 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love! This is my 5th pair of Sorel's in 30 years! I love these. Comfortable and high quality! A good company that makes great boots in my size. I love the color of these. Fun December 20, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cute, Not Comfy! I absolutely love the way the Shale colored boots look, but they rub into the back part of my lower legs making them painful to wear. I simply tried them on and took a couple of steps and immediately had to take them off. I am disappointed because they look awesome and now I have to send them back. December 4, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fit at least 2 sizes up The boots run small to size. I had to "exchange" for a larger size. Come to find out they don't have an exchange policy. So I paid the shipping for the return. They wouldn't send out a new pair unless they charged my account a second time. We are not talking about $50 boots here! So I waited for them to credit my account before I could order the new pair. All in all it took about a month from start to finish to get the boots. Was not reimbursed for shipping. December 3, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by thin legs only these boots are really nice and I wish they would've worked out for me. they are designed for ladies with very thin calves and that's not me. I'm definitely representing an athletic build. I know that about myself but unfortunately the calf diameter is not noted in the description so I took a chance. hint: please add that in your product descriptions. I could MAKE them work but they wouldn't look good. honestly, I'm not sure that these would work for the majority of women out there. if you're rocking a calf larger than 12", forget it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Ahhmazing!!! I am so happy with these boots and so glad I made the purchase! I ended up ordering a half a size bigger just based on other reviews! I am very happy I did because had I ordered a 9 I feel like they would have fit but would have been snug! With these being winter boots I wanted them on the bigger side so that way I had room for socks! In other reviews I have read that the seam along the back rubs on your ankle but mine has not at all (maybe this was fixed in newer styles)! The color is more of a bright pink then a coral pink. But overall I love these boots I will defiantly be buying another pair of sorels when these hit there time (which I hope will not be for a very long while). The reason I went with sorels is because they function great as winter boots but just as well when you need to wear boots but look presentable!! They look amazing and so super cute!! Rated 3 out of 5 by Joan of Arctic II I ordered the original Joan of Arctic last winter and loved them. One of the grommets on the boots broke and I returned them under warranty. I just received my replacement boots, the Joan of Arctic II, but am disappointed. I was given two color options (black/elk) but after looking online, I chose to wait for the Shale color which looked like it would come with red/dark pink laces. Imagine my disappointment when I opened my box to find neon pink laces on my boots I waited 8 months for. I won't return them because I can't wait another 8 months, but for the price I paid, I wish they were something I loved like my first pair. They are only okay. Not terribly attractive at all. Rated 3 out of 5 by Not For Me I normally wear a size 11 (Woman) in boots. As the 11's were too small, I ordered the 12. Although the length was good, the boots were very wide and seemed loose and sloppy on my feet, even with heavy socks, not to mention they are super heavy. I liked the look of these but unfortunately the fit did not work for me so I returned them. November 20, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Super Cute I was so excited to get these boots in the mail and I put them on right away, only to find that with a thin sock, they were just a half size too small. I ordered a 9 and am pretty true to size. I was really unsure about what size to get as I had read the reviews and they were sort of scattered all over the place- some people said they fit true to size, others said slightly too small and I even read on review of someone who went down a size and a half. I'm a little disappointed that I have to send them back and now pay for shipping to get my right size now, when I didn't have to pay shipping in the first place. November 11, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not impressed These boots are very narrow and hard to get on. If you order them and return them shipping for return is on your own dime!! I paid $18 to Sorel to ship them and it cost me another $23 for UPS to ship them back for return!! November 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this boot The quality of the boot is evident upon initial inspection. The boot combines fashion with durability; I feel stylish, while also staying warm and snug. I bought this boot for my upcoming trip to NYC this December. In the city everyone looks chic, even when the frozen wind is whipping through the buildings. I think this boot will hold up to that environment, keep me warm and dry, and also look cute while I’m Christmas shopping. November 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by So comfy, a bit small These babies are so comfortable! The only small issue I'm having (have only worn them around town once) is rubbing on my achilles. I'm chalking this up to them not being broken in yet, and the socks I was wearing. I usually vary between 8.5 and 9, but I own the 9.5 in these (the 9s were just a tad small if I wanted to wear nice thick wool socks). My toes never got cold (which is some sort of miracle), and I got tons of compliments! November 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by To the "style" conscious.... These boots are fantastic! Those of you claiming that you "normally" wear such-and-such size and that this shoe is "too small" are obviously not reading the size / measurement charts and HOW to size yourself. EVERY company and country has its very own sizes. For those of you who are worried this boot is "hideous" and looks different than the photos.... It looks exactly as pictured. Maybe you should try adjusting your computer, cellphone, or tablet devices' screen brightness and color display. The black looks black, the neon salmon pinky orange looks that way as well. Also, you can probably order/buy spare laces in any color just about anywhere. How inflexible are you guys? Also, the price is right for the level of quality. November 1, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by crazy color I am shocked at the hot pink laces and lining color combination. I am unfortunately returning these for something I can wear with most things in the snow. My sons instantly said those are hideous. hmmmm guess they go back. They fit well and will be warm just need a different style/color October 28, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Joan of Arctic Boots Hello, The boots first look a little different in the pictures online than in person. The pink is more neon in person then online. The fit near the upper calf is decently tight and can be uncomfortable while wearing them for a while. I would be very concerned about fit for others since I ordered a size bigger than usual and it's still decently tight. October 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth The Investment I was really skeptical spending so much on winter boots. My husband has a pair of Sorels and always raves how warm and dry his feet stay, even with his daily dog walks in all kinds of weather - in snow or rain. After a few other of my purchases lacking comfort AND warmth I gave in and bought the Joan Of Arctic Knit II Boot. They come up pretty high on my calf which is great for our Midwest weather. The ability to lace the whole boot allows for easy tucking of jeans or pant legs. The coral chevron pattern adds a cute girly touch. As other reviews mentioned, the laces are a little on the neon side, but I'm okay with it - it's an easy change if needed. I typically wear a 9 in most shoes. I ordered a 9 and it'll be perfect, even enough room to layer with thick socks. The sole is wider, which I thought would make them bulky, but they're surprisingly lightweight and easy to walk in. The wider sole adds stability for slippery surfaces. I'm glad I ordered them early so I'll be prepared for our first snow storm! October 9, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cute but uncomfortable These boots were very cute, but the back dug in to my ankle/heel. Also I have a little bit bigger calf and when lacing these boots up they were more open at the top then I'd like them to be. I also felt when lacing and unlacing them repeatedly the laces might break over time, as you had to loosen them all the way down to the bottom to get them on and off. If they had been more comfortable in the heel/ankle area I probably would have kept them, but I did end up returning them. I believe they would have held up to the Iowa winters and kept my feet warm. The quality looked very sturdy. September 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots! Love these boots!! I normally wear a size 10 and I ordered a size 10. They fit perfectly, plenty of room for a thick sock if desired. I ordered the shale color. I love they gray, I wasn't expecting the color to be hot pink, I thought it was more coral when I ordered, but I still love the boot! Will probably switch out the laces. Perfect for a Chicago winter! September 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ready for winter! I had purchased a pair of these boots for my daughter last year and wished I would have ordered a pair for myself. So this year I ordered early to avoid having them all sold out. I knew they would likely run small so I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear, but unfortunately my toes were still right at the end of the boot and the foot is quite narrow. I ordered 1 size larger and they fit great! They seem like they will be really warm (I work in Boston and walk everywhere so need some heavy duty boots) and they're even a little fashionable. I can wait to try them since I can't think about snow in September, but I'm ready for winter when it comes! September 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love love love! I just received my boots in the mail & it's like Christmas morning! I absolutely love them! I normally wear a size 7, but I wanted the possibility of wearing thicker socks, so I ordered a 7.5. They fit perfectly! There's just enough room around the toe. I totally hold off for the snow to come, but these boots will defiantly make the snowy days more fun! You won't be disappointed by buying these boots! :) August 21, 2015
