Women’s Joan of Arctic™ Boot is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 88.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality. I was very pleased with the boots. I wear a size 8/8.5 and ordered an 8.5 which fit perfectly. They are warm and durable. They are also nice looking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the fur I have had Sorels before and they are a great product. I tried on a size in the store and decided to go a half size bigger, so I had to order online. I feel no difference between the sizes. The boots are very cute, love the fur trim and that the lining comes out to dry easily. I don't understand why the toes are turned up and this is something I will have to get used to. It's been warm on the mountain so I have not been able to test the warmth factor. My last Sorels were 30 years old and a men's style so I wanted a pair made for a women's foot and taller on the calf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot! Highly recommend! Great boot, warm and very waterproof. I normally wear a 7-7.5, exchanged mine for an 8 and they fit much better, especially with thick socks. Love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I live in the middle of the rocky mountains where 4-5 feet of snow in your front yard is very normal. These boots are perfect for the weather. My feet stay warm and dry along with most of my calf. The loops that go over the fur part are not for pulling your boots on so just a warning. Take the time to unlace and then lace them up. Perfect if you are outdoors for extended periods of time or just a quick trip to the store.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavy Boot These boots weigh a lot they are very heavy, but they keep my feet warm. They run small I should have sized a full size up. I usually wear a 9 and order a 9.5, but I wished I would have ordered a 10. They run short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So warm!! These are boots are nice and toasty for cold Michigan winters. My only concern is the sole seems a little slippery on some surfaces. Overall I am very pleased and super happy that they are so warm.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from barley lasted 1 winter season I love Sorel, it's my go to winter boot brand but i am really disappointed in these boots. The first few wears were great, they are super comfy and warm. After about 5 wears in heavy snow, they started leaking and my feet freeze in about 10 minutes. These are quite pricy and should last longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Snow Boot This is my first pair of Sorel boots. We have had a very hard Winter so far this year and I was looking for a good sturdy boot that could take the harsh elements. I have to say this is the boot. It is comfortable and great looking. I know that I will not be slipping on the snow or ice with these boots a great investment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them. True to size I wear a 7.5 in heels/flats and an 8 in boots pretty much 100% of the time. I got an 8 in these, and they fit perfectly. I've only worn them a few times so far, so I can't speak to the wear and tear reviews, but I feel like you would have to be pretty rough on them to rip out the lace rings. I would say just be loosen them before taking them on and off rather than ripping them off. The strap that helps you pull them on and off snaps in place, so you can't rip that one off either. I could see these not being the best for someone who plans to wear constantly as their main winter boot, but for casual wear like a week skiing in the mountains, they are exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not that warm! With socks, my feet are cold even though it is 32F outside. Not minus! I walked around in the snow for 15 minutes and spent an hour in an unheated house. Toes are stiff. Not warmer than my ordinary leather boots. Very disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Boots A friend of mine ordered these boots and she let me try them on. I bought myself a size 7.5 and the fit was true to size. I was in Brian Head, UT. The temp was -2 and my feet were warm. These lovely boots are comfy & well worth the price❤

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Luv these boots! Stylish, quality built, durable, comfortable, warm!!! Bought these for a ski trip to Big Sky--they were perfect! We had quite a bit of snow on the ground with 12" added while we were there. We trudged around a bit dog-sledding, snow shoeing, sledding, and back and forth to the ski area. No snow in the boots--my feet were dry and toasty! Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish, warm boot I've wanted these boots since moving to a cold climate, and after getting them, they do not disappoint! They're very warm. Before these I was wearing rain boots in the snow. These are definitely better for cold weather! The color is a bit darker in person than online. I have the brown and red umber. The toe box is quite big even though the boot inside fits true to size. The part of the boot where the shaft meets the ankle is just a smidge tight, but I'm hoping that loosens a up over time. It's a bit difficult to tighten the laces as tightly as I would like to, just because the laces slide easily through the loops, but I'm sure I can figure out how to make it work. They're heavy, which I expected. It takes a while to get used to walking in them. I have to lift my foot up higher with each step than I would normally because the toe of the boot is large and heavy. I love the look of the fur around the top of the boot. I'm very glad I have them, and I'm happy to get to wear them over the next several winters. A friend of mine has some that have lasted 12 years!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boots I love these - they're a little small - I usually wear an 8 and needed an 8.5, but they are well made, warm, and have great grip on the bottom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted and expected I've never owned a pair of Sorel before but after trudging through snow and slush in leaking boots I decided it was time to get these. I love the look, fit, and feel of these boots. You have to loosen the ties all the way to get your feet in so they aren't quick on and off. Unfortunately we have no snow so I haven't been able to wear them outside yet!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Snaps on straps Broke after 3 uses Snaps on the straps broke after 3 uses. I have to pay return shipping to have them check them out and warranty them. Doesn't seem right for an expensive pair of boots. Super warm, true to size but annoyed the snaps broke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sorels boots for life/run small though These will be my 2nd pair of Sorel winter boots, I bought my last pair 8 years ago and the traction on the bottom finally wore down, but I could still wear my 8 yr old Sorel boots for warmth and keeping dry if need be, and will hold onto them just incase. I am very rough on my boots during my Michigan winters, I shovel snow, feed the deer and birds, play outside with my dogs all winter long, sled, and deal with lots and lots of mud, but my feet are always toasty WARM and DRY in my Sorel winter boots. These boots do seem to run on the small side, I am usually a 7/7.5, I ordered a 7.5 and they are too tight and my toes go right to the very tip, so I am sending them back for a size 8 and hope they fit, snow is coming our way next week and I will need them so badly! The ONLY winter boots I buy for my family are SORELS, my son always wore them as a child and would last outside in the snow for hours, and if the rest of his winter wear was as warm and water-proofed as his Sorel boots were/are, he would've lasted outside all day and night! My son never complained about having cold or wet feet and the same goes for me in my Sorel boots. I just can't say enough nice things about these boots! Don't even get me started on how stylish the Joan of Ark women's boots are, I just LOVE them! Shocks me to see any bad reviews about Sorel winter boots not being warm or dry, because I have never had ANY complaints about any of our Sorel boots, ever! Sorel's are the ONLY winter boots I will ever buy for my family, they are worth every dime! I got my very stylish Joan of Ark winter boots on sale, you have to know what season to buy certain things to get a great deal, but would pay full price if I had too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from FYI I was getting annoyed with people complaining that these boots were of poor quality because the straps broke while they were putting the boots on. Just to clear things up, the "boot straps" are not meant to be tugged on so you can put your boot on! Loosen up the laces and widen the boot opening so you can put your boots on the right way. The straps are attached by snaps to the boot. It is meant to keep the fur boot liner in place so that it doesn't shift around while you're wearing the boots. The straps can be easily snapped off so the liner can be taken out and washed or air dried. If you're tugging on this strap to put your boots on, you're doing it wrong. That said, I love the look of these boots. I haven't yet worn my boots in the snow yet, but they have been worn in the rain and they keep my feet warm and dry. I've also received tons of compliments. Only con is they are a bit clunky to drive in. I also wouldn't wear these all day while running errands for fear of foot fatigue. I wear a size 6 and ordered the same. I think I could have gone half a size down, even with thicker socks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT Meant for Wide Feet I Ordered my VERY First Sorel's, During their Winter SALE.....Normally I'm a 7.5W or 8! I went ahead and ordered the 7.5 & After Reading through these Reviews, I'm NOT Sure if I should order the 8/the 8.5 to be on the "Safe Side," So we Don't Spend a Fortune on Shipping.....Any Feedback that might HELP This Fellow Chubby Footed Friend?!?!?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm, broke twice I received these boots as a gift for Christmas this year - they're so warm and, most importantly, comfortable and waterproof. Being from and living in New England - you need a great pair of boots and these are perfect. The first pair I got were great - however, after he third time wearing them the loop on the top of the right boots came off. This is where there is a small button/snap on the top of the boot that creates a loop on both sides of the boot to help with pulling them on. When it snapped off I thought it was an easy fix, but it wasn't. It was permanently broken. I went through the process of returning them (shipping and packing - $60) to only find out I could receive a discount because they weren't able to be fixed. That's fine - great. I figured it had to be a fluke because I read nothing but great reviews and the boots were the best winter boots I ever owned. I ordered the same pair of boots for the second time. I refrained from using the loops as I figured they weren't as sturdy as they should be. However - as I went to put the boot on one day - by grabbing the fur top area- it snapped off again and broke ! Like I said - I love this boot but am very disappointed to have spent the money to return the boot only to buy another pair and have it break again !!! In the same spot. I might have to pay out of pocket to fix it - why would I own almost $200 boots that are broken ?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wouldn't recommend My mother has a pair of sorel boots that she has had forever and they look brand new. She has worn them day in and day out to split wood and shovel all winter long and they are still in great great condition. I splurged my money hoping for the same quality boot, but these boots don't compare. I have had them for 3 years and have warn them minimally, as I am not very outdoorsy I'm the winter. The heel has worn down and allows water into the boot, the overall construction of the rubber is not durable. The inserts inside the boots are also not very warm especially if you are actually standing in the snow. If you're looking for a boot just to out on, walk to the car, drive to work, and sit all day, these are the boots for you. If you're actually seeking warmth and durability for any outdoor related winter activity, I would highly suggest another boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winter Essential in northeast I bought 2 pairs -- one tobacco / one black -- love them both! I've had Sorels in the past that were too narrow -- not these. Easy and comfortable to wear out in the snow. I actually didn't find them too bulky to wear inside when I forgot my shoes. The lace up provides a nice snug fit and room at the foot to accommodate thicker socks. Fur around trim helps avoid any rubbing. Highly recommend for cold days and snow wear. Shoe size was actually true to fit -- if anything I'd order a little bigger??

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute but big After reading some reviews I ordered a 1/2 size up and they were just too big. These would be great for people with wide feet, lots of room in foot area even with thick socks. Really cute and warm. I will be exchanging.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit snug I love these boots! They are very beautiful but are a bit snug. they fit perfectly without socks but if I were to wear socks it be too tight. So if you plan on wearing sock I'd recommend to go size bigger. I'm a size 71/2 but might have been more comfortable if I'd bought a size 8

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I purchased my sorel Joan of artics the week of January 21,2017 because I needed a good, warm and reliable pair of snowboots. I never buy snow boots and wanted to invest in a good pair! Ordered these to wear on my trip to New Hampshire in all the snow and loved them until the other day back at home in RI, I went to put them on to go outside and the snap broke on the top of the boot. I spent a lot of money on these boots for them to break only using them less then a handful of times. Extremely disappointed and now if I want them fixed I won't have a pair of snowboots. For the money you spend on th we maybe you should go elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HEAVEN FOR YOUR FEET They hug your leg so well. I expected them to look cool, but the comfort of the shoe was an unexpected surprise. If you're on the fence about purchasing, go ahead and hop on over. :) They look amazing, feel amazing, really a win win.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A fashion boot, not a snow boot Do not buy these boots if you live in New England or any other area that receives a fair amount of snow. They are too short of a boot to provide any coverage when walking through deep snow. The tongue area (front) of the boot is several inches shorter than the top of the boot and cannot be completely closed. Almost immediately this area fills up with snow as you walk or stand. Deep snow easily covers the tops of the boots and soaks the fake fur trim. You're left with wet fur and wet boot interiors. The laces are slippery and do not stay tied unless double knotted. My toes were freezing when outside for only a few minutes. These are a fashion boot, not a snow boot. Buy if you want to wander clear streets after a light snow, not if you live on a farm or do any outdoor activities (including walking a dog).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sizes are narrow Boots are beautiful, and seem warm. I was happy with the speed of shipping as well. But they're so tight! They're the right length for my feet (I measured before purchase), but the widest part of the foot is so tight they cut off the circulation to my toes. They ARE the right length, so I'll just have to get a boot stretcher and hope it helps. But be warned: if you don't have NARROW width feet, these boots are going to be tight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Boots for Minnesnowta These boots are great for these icy, snowy winters we have up here in Minnesota. these are my first Sorels , I usually wear my uggs in the snow and ice and Sorels are just much more functional. I was able to walk on sheets of ice without slipping- which I was not able to before with my Uggs. They are very warm too. However, they are a bit clunky and heavy. it's not so much slip on and wear kind of boots. It's hard for me to wear them on non-snowy days as they are heavy and my days usually involve a good amount of walking. But they do the job perfectly when the weather is bad though. They do run a bit large. I normally wear 7.5 for normal shoes but 8 for boots - so I ordered the 8s since I like to wear thick socks and I have big calves and they are a little big for me. I probably could have gotten away with 7.5 or 7 even. I would say order your normal shoe size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid and comfortable Strengths Good boots, not just for show. Very water proof and seem durable and strong without excess bulk or weight. The fur rimmed liner is warm and they're easy to take on and off and are comfortable to wear for long periods. Excellent for casual walking in heavy snow. Weaknesses Not hiking boots. The insoles are thin and not the best foot support and the outside soles have poor grip, so careful walking on ice, they slide easily.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boots! Love love love these boots. I have just purchased a brown pair in Seattle and they kept my Aussie ( not used to the cold feet ) warm during a Canadian Arctic blast with temps of -30 degrees celsius. They have great tred for slushy conditions and keep your feet so warm. They run slightly big, I always take a size 8 and I purchased a size 7.5. They are wide in the boot and calf area! I have slim legs and regular width feet - I do find these pretty roomy! But I love them!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I don't think the loop at the top is to pull the boot on, more to keep the ensol in. I've seen some bad reviews on that and I could only see them breaking if your pulling on them. I've walked my dog multiple times in the cold snowy evenings and warm toes every time! They're also very comfortable! Very satisfied.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Frustrated I love these boots, but the second time wearing them and the loop at the top of the boot used to pull them on, broke. In spite of the fact that I had been very cautious about even using the loop much because other reviewers have had the same complaint. When you spend $200 for a pair of Sorel boots, you expect higher quality than that. I'm sure I could probably send them back and have them replaced, but since Sorel has to know about this and hasn't changed the quality, I assume the same thing will happen again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from warm and cozy I love my Joan boots. I've had Joan of Artics in the past that ran true to size but these were a half size small so I had to return and order 1/2 size bigger. I ordered 1/2 bigger with my Tofinos but they are true to size so needed to return them for my regular size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty, but not very practical I purchased these boots because they were supposed to be good for 25 below. Where I live in the mountains we get huge amounts of snow and with wind-chill it can get 40 below. Just the other day it was roughly -10 and I could FEEL the cold seeping into my feet while standing on the snow, (within minutes). I also had to get a half size (probably could have went a full size) bigger than I normally wear because they tend to run small. I also had to wrap my ankle to provide extra cushion because the boot was rubbing the back of my ankle, causing pain. They are beautiful boots, just not practical in snow/cold temperatures. I am hoping they will "break-in" because they are that cute and I want to keep them. The quality is great, I just wish they were more comfortable and warmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm! I love these boots. I can wear them without socks while shoveling and my feet stay very warm. Not sure why others don't agree.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nope. Got these as a gift, and they couldn't even last one winter season. They're already worn out and leaking! My feet are constantly getting wet (and cold), they have poor traction and are overall poorly designed in my opinion. I would certainly not define them as 'waterproof'. Most likely will not purchase any more Sorel footware due to this experience. #SorelysorrywepurchasedSorel

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent We just had our first real snow storm. These boots are 100% waterproof. They're warm. They're well worth the money. Only one complaint is that they're a little slippery. Otherwise A+ true to size and comfy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely Dissapointed For the amount of money you will spend on this snow boot, you would think they would be the best you'd ever own. THINK AGAIN! You are paying for the stylish cute look of the boot, and the brand name. These boots DO NOT keep your feet warm, let alone allow you to walk on slippery areas. As a commuter, I almost fell multiple times wearing these because there is no traction on the bottom of the boot. And to top it off, I would end up with bruises on my ankles and feet because they were extremely uncomfortable. Spend your money elsewhere!
Date published: 2017-01-08
Rated 3 out of 5 by from not for extreme cold these boots are very pretty. you will need a half size larger than you would normally wear. they are great for snow however they don't keep your feet as warm as they should. forget about walking on ice.
Date published: 2017-01-05
Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointed They are very below the shin between the ankles. Every time I wear them I ended up with bruises. They are warm and keep my foot dry but I wasted the money because once I'm bruised I can't wear them for a few days until I heal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from WAY to narrow I wanted these boots so badly! They are just so cute! Unfortunately, I couldn't get them on. They are SUPER narrow around the ankle, and there is no way to loosen them to even get them on! My daughter's feet are 2 sizes smaller than mine, so I thought they would fit her! Nope! She loved them like I did, and tried like Cinderella's step sisters for over an hour to get them on. Sadly, they're going back :( PLEASE fix this MAJOR flaw by next year!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy Purchased boots for wife Xmas gift. Both "pull up" snaps were broken. They were never worn, packed for a ski trip and the defect was discovered when they were unpacked. Not the quality we expected from Sorel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Way too big, so returned. I ordered multiple pairs of boots and was most excited for these, but soon disappointed. They were enormous all over. I wear a 6.5 in shoes normally so that is what I ordered. I swam in them with heavy winter socks too. My heel lifted, and the foot part & calf was super wide. So wide that when I walked it would rub! These had to go back. However, I think these would be perfect for someone with a wide foot and wide calf. I ended up keeping the Tofino boot, as it was a perfect fit and much smaller all around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm! Got these as a Christmas gift because I have to walk around downtown Chicago for school, which means sometimes hiking between campuses on public transit and walking for blocks. I wore these with regular socks, not even thick boot socks, and walking around outside in below freezing weather for 45 minutes my feet were nice and warm still! They were comfortable to walk in, and I didn't feel like I was unstable on the snowy ground either. I normally wear a size 10, but that was too small, so I tried a 10.5. They fit perfectly. If I take the liner out they may be a little too big but boot socks would probably help with that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish, Comfortable, & Functional I love these boots. I bought them for a trip to visit family in Montana, and found out my father in law also has Sorels, very similar to these, except much more masculine, obviously. He is the kind of guy who doesn't buy things unless they are quality and will last forever. His boots have been around for 5 years! Anyway, from wearing these, I've come to believe that these were an EXCELLENT choice of boot for the fashion conscious, yet cold footed woman. Though, I feel the need to mention that no matter how good your boots are, it won't mean anything without appropriate (usually wool) socks. These were the right size, however, very tight. I wear a size 8 in Frye boots, and I purchased a size 7.5 in these boots. My foot is about 10 inches, standing. They were still a little snug, but that is how it ought to be. They were difficult to slip on and off, but I can tell that with some wear, they will be the perfect winter boots. I wore them in deep snow that reached up the the fur, and my feet still kept dry & warm. I also got non-stop compliments. ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I absolutely adore these boots!! I just got them recently and wore them several times out in the cold, snow, and ice for a couple hours at a time, every time my feet stayed dry and warm...my feet never stay warm in anything, I couldn't believe it! They are completely adorable as well. I actually saw a girl at the zoo (a couple days before Christmas) with these same boots and we both bonded over their perfection. They are stiff to drive in but they are still comfortable. These are sturdy boots, even the shoelaces feel like they are in for the long haul! I bought these as a present to myself for my birthday and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase! I usually wear shoe size 8 and bought 8.5, I think an 8 would've been too small.
