Unstoppable These are great boots. When I have them on, I feel unstoppable, like I could walk for hours through deep snow and not feel it.I ordered them online because I couldn't find my size (11) in stores. When I first put them on, they felt a little too tight in the toe, so I took out the insert which solved the tightness issue, but then I could feel a little bit of coldness coming through the bottom of the boot. So after wearing them in for a few days I put the insert back in, and now the size is fine, if slightly snug in the height of the toe. At least that way they don't slip around. They are a tad too roomy in the ankle area for my taste, but it doesn't cause any problems and it makes it possible to comfortably tuck in any kind of pants. The zipper up the front is really handy and makes putting them on and taking them off a breeze, which is a rare quality in such a high boot.I looked around for a long time before deciding to buy these, and I'm happy with my decision. Great Winter Boot I purchased these based on the previous great reviews, and they did not disappoint! I usually wear a size 10 but went up to an 11 based on others feedback. The sizing is perfect. They are crazy warm (just wore them in a snow storm) and yet stylish. I would definitely recommend these! January 2, 2014
Very durable These boots are not meant for wide calves, which made me very sad. However, they are great quality and very warm. I felt they went with everything I wore since the colors were neutral. I would totally recommend them! January 1, 2014
Useful & Nifty Boots I really appreciate the large sizes that Sorel provides ... being a tall girl, I have big ol' feet, so I was pleased to find these sturdy and practical, yet not completely mannish boots. They're comfy and warm. I'm about a size 11 or 11 1/2 normally, and the 12 is just a TOUCH big with thick woolly socks, but not uncomfortably so.Recommended. Especially if you live up North like I do ... and can find them on sale! November 25, 2013
cute but... The boots arrived and I was excited to try them on even if it is 90 degrees this week. I wear a 8.5 and ordered a 9. The right foot was still small. without socks my toe hits the end. At the ankles the bend is stiff and rubs the back of my leg in a somewhat uncomfortable way. I am hoping that wearing them with socks around the house will make them give a bit..if not they go to my sister who wears a 7.5. Can't tell if they will be warm, but they look and feel like they will be. July 16, 2013
So far, so good The boots are very warm and comfortable! I like them a lot but have not had them in the winter yet. The fabric strips are NOT waterproof although the rest of the boot is. So if you need waterproof to your knees, this is not that boot. They are a little klunkier because of the width than I expected. And I wish they had removable liners. I look forward on getting them in the snow this winter to see how they fair while I stand there timing ski races. July 8, 2013
Good boot This is a good solid boot for winter. I am not crazy about the poly fleece along the length of the boot, which might cause snow to stick to it. It is a good boot as it provides protection to just below the knee for cold and snow conditions. Sorel is a good boot company, period! July 8, 2013
Zip Boots These boots are going to be perfect this winter for my daughter. She is a slip on shoe type of gal. I knew she needed a zip boot. These are going to be great sturdy boots. I am a size 10 and she is a 9. We both liked the way they fit. July 6, 2013
Great winter boots! I own MANY, many, pairs of Sorel winter boots and love them all. This is my second pair of Helen of Tundra - I also own them in the olive color. These are the boots I use for shoveling snow in the winter. They are super warm, waterproof and so easy to put on and take off. Very cute and stylish, as well. I have narrow feet and usually wear a size 7- 7 1/2, but I've purchased my Sorel boots in size 8. The length is perfect; they do run a little wide on me, but with heavy socks in the winter, the extra room actually helps insulate my feet. I definitely recommend these! July 3, 2013
Tundra II Love my new boots. I wear a 7.5 and a 7 fit perfectly. Comfortable and cute. June 25, 2013
Helen of Tundra boots These boots are AWESOME! I recently attended an open air concert with these boots and only a pair of socks in a wind chill of 5 degrees. I was perfectly confortable all day! April 19, 2013
Awesome Boots! These boots are snugly and chic! I bought them to keep me toasty in my new home in South Dakota! I reccomended them highly. Slick styling, great warmth and non-slip soles. Come on snow! Make my day! March 2, 2013
Winter Wonderland These boots are awesome! I have wanted a pair for the last two years and finally I have them. They are not really good for ice but snowstorms are manageable now! February 25, 2013
A great investment! I purchased my first pair of Sorel boots last winter and I love them! They are the perfect boot for heavy snow fall. I typically wear a size 8.5 and found that with a size 8, I still have room to wear bulky socks. So if you are going to order this style, I would suggest ordering a size down. They do take sometime to wear in but they are totally worth it! I recommend Sorel to anyone looking for a great pair of boots to protect one from all sorts of elements. They are truely a great investment for anyone living in the midwest! February 8, 2013
LOVE these boots! This was actually my second pair of the Helen of Tundra II boot and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! Super comfortable and durable...I highly recommend them! January 23, 2013
Decent boots for Chicago winters Boots are very roomy, so you can wear thicker socks without discomfort. I don't know that they meet the -20 degree temp rating for warmth (literally tested over last couple of days but they still keep my feet comfortably warm.Out of the box, there was a mar near the buckle on one of my boots, where the leather finish was peeled off. Ultimately the boots are for warmth and sloshing through snow and slush, so I didn't bother sending them back just for a small (hopefully just) aesthetic defect.I've gotten a ton of compliments on them, and love the convenience of the zipper vs a lace-up style. January 22, 2013
$20 down the drain in shipping costs After doing much research on many different Sorel's I was hoping these were the ones. I tried to order the correct size based on my foot size and reviews but unfortunately they ran small and would not work. Most unfortunately I was unable to find these from another on-line reseller and so threw about $20 away for nothing on shipping costs (both ways). The zipper was also difficult to manage at times. I still hope to purchase a pair of Sorel's but it certainly won't be from January 21, 2013
love them! great fit, comfortable, warm. January 19, 2013
Wonderful Boots I am forever cold and live in a region of the states that requires warm boots. These are my second pair of Sorels and I am as happy with these as I am with my first pair purchased almost 20 years earlier. The only thing I found funny was the sizing. I am a true size 7 with all of my shoes. But I found that the 7's were a bit to snug and I purchased a size 8. They fit great and give me room when I where my thicker wool socks. January 18, 2013
Great features, BUT These boots fit all my must haves but was disappointed when they arrived because the left boot zipper was all wavey and the right was nice and straight. They seemed true to fit...half size bigger than a regular shoe size for toe room and thicker socks if I wanted.Disappointed but will keep looking for this brand as everyone I have seen in boots that I admired told me they were Sorel's!!! No problem returning either. Thank You, Sorel! January 17, 2013
Stylish Boot!! I purchased a boot that I figured would be just easy on easy off because of the zipper!! Not only did I get the easy on easy off, I got a truly warm boot on very cold days & a very beautiful boot I can wear outside in the snow with anything!! SO glad I bought them!!! January 16, 2013
Super comfortable So glad I got them. I normally wear a 6-6.5. I got a 6, and it fits perfectly. January 12, 2013
Cozy & Cute Every time I intend to purchase a winter/snow boot I end up getting a cute boot that is not warm & or water proof. I finally decided to purchase something this winter so that I wouldn't freeze & came across Sorel. I wanted a pair of boots with fur, but since all of my coats have various colors of fur I chose Helen of Tundra in black. They are AWESOME! They are incredibly warm, very easy to get on, not overly bulky (they are a winter boot so there is some bulk), and feel very comfortable. I have one little hot spot but I'm sure with time it will go away. I would highly recommend these boots! January 12, 2013
Warm but not that comfortable I bought the Helen of Tundra II boot to wear while snowshoeing. There are pros and cons to this boot. The Pro is that it kept my feet the perfect temperature. it was a huge improvement over my usual boots. The boots are also very easy to put on and take off. The front zip feature is the main reason why I chose this style. The Con is there is a spot that presses in on the back of my ankle (mentioned in several reviews) The leather bends in the back directly above the buckle and causes the boot to press uncomfortably on my achilles tendon. I folded my thick socks over twice to cushion the "hot spot" which helped minimize the discomfort. I didn't feel the hot spot at all when I was snowshoing. Mainly because the sport requires you to walk with your heels flexed the whole time, which counteracts the flaw in the boots. January 3, 2013
Love love love these boots I bought these boots two years ago, in black, allthough I do not see them in black any longer, Im sure the sesame color will do the job keeping your feet warm & dry, in rain snow & cold... I love the way they look, and fit.. I wear a size 7, and there is still enough room for socks......I have worn them a lot the past two years and this will be my 3rd winter.. I also wear them into the spring when it rains, and start wearing them late in the fall when it starts to get cold.. they keep my feet toasty warm, even on the coldest days... this is an all around great boot for warmth & style, have had many many complements on them, and have been asked where to buy them... I would recommend them....after two years of wear going on my third year, this boot is well made, and is in the same condition they were the day I first put them on, yes a long lasting boot.. finally a product that lasts... I go hiking in the snow with them, and my feet are never coldShervan in Illinois December 16, 2012
Love the style Bought the boots for a trip to Lake Tahoe, they were very comfortable to walk around in, I didn't experience any foot hot spots due to rubbing or product defect. I love the look....and at the slopes with the ski boots coming on and off, my Sorel's with a front zipper were very convenient to change. I really like all the styles to choose from. I only wish the website would note where the boots were made. For personal reasons. I found the size to be true. I wear a 9 1/2 to 10, purchased a 10 and they're perfect. February 19, 2012
Love it! I read many of the reviews while searching for the perfect Sorel boot, and many of the reviews for the Helen of Tundra II were negative. They mentioned that the heel was uncomfortable but I have had no problems with mine. The second I received these boots and put them on, I knew they were perfect for me. I am on a tight budget and was between a couple different styles of Sorel boots, and live in a very snowy area. These boots are amazing in snow, incredibly comfortable and warm. They are clunky but all snow boots are, they are very stylish and versatile. I love them and would highly recommend them, they are true to size and perfect for going from the mountain to a restaurant, to work, anywhere. Thanks Sorel! January 23, 2012
Very happy with this purchase I absolutely love these boots. They are the first pair of winter boots that keep my feet dry and keep my toes warm. They are completely true to size. As people have said, they do rub a bit in the heel but it's not unmanageable. They're easy to zip, so you can tuck in your pants on really snowy, icy days. They are also super cute and I'm always happy to show them off. January 12, 2012
Ok. At first I really liked this boot, however, there is a spot on the heel that rubs on both feet. Was bummed because it fits great otherwise and they are so easy to get into because of the zipper. December 8, 2011
Helen of Tundra Great boots, keep my feet incredibly warm. I live in rural Minnesota and the boots still arrived just a couple of days after I ordered them. I recommend ordering a half-size down since the boots stretch a bit once you break them in. The boots have been rubbing the backs of my ankles, unfortunately, but I've learned to wear thicker socks with them to try and avoid this. Fashionable and practical boots, what more could you ask for? December 7, 2011
great winter boots I'm usually a solid 8.5 but I have a 9 in these, the 8 would be too tight probably but I can easily wear thick socks with the 9. They're great and warm when trekking through thick snow but can be a little heavy and clunky when walking. The only negative thing about mine is that they rub against my ankle around the achilles and chafe the skin away, even when I have tall socks on so thick protection or maybe a bandaid might be necessary. Other than the rubbing, I love these boots. December 3, 2011
Good boots These boots are very well made and very warm/waterproof. I ordered an 8 even though my normal shoe size is a 7 so that I could wear warm socks with the boots, but they are very tight on my feet so that will not be possible. Otherwise I really like them. November 29, 2011
Beautiful Boot!!!! I absolutely LOVE these boots!! I have been looking everywhere for a pair that not only look great but are practical and warm...Something that will last!! I find these ones extremely comfortable from head to toe. I take a standard size 7 and my feet are relatively narrow and these boots fit great :) I still have a tiny bit of room if I want a thicker sock (Which I doubt I'll be needing anyways). The Zipper up the front is awesome, easy to get into and out of and fits my calfs perfectly with or without jeans. As another reviewer said "not too tight, not too loose". Over-all these boots are pretty wonderful :) I definitely recommend them to everyone! Something that may help you if your in search, and what I have definitely realized is every boot fits everyone differently...So GOOD LUCK! Hope you fall in love, I sure have!! November 16, 2011
Perfect Winter Boot These boots are comfy and warm. The foot is waterproof and they have good traction for ice, snow and slush. The full length front zipper make them easy and fast to get on and off. The distressed leather is cool looking, especially the buckle. Best of all, they look great on! October 9, 2011
Cute but too small! Nice boots. But they were a little bit small, making them uncomfortable, and I didnt like them as much in person as I did online. I ordered them in black and ended up returning them. August 7, 2011
my first rain boot! i have lived in portland two years and finally broke down and bought rain boots. i love these. they look great and are super, super cozy. May 9, 2011
Tundra I love these boots !!!! March 28, 2011
Half Sizes?!? These boots are great, look super-cool. Have not tested them in the snow yet, but I have been walking around in the rain lately, and they are warm and water-tight. I wish Sorel would make boots in half-sizes, wish UGGS would too! I ordered an 8, because I think a 9 would have been too big, and took out the insoles and that felt better. The front zipper is cool, easy on and off. Unlike other Sorel's, these didn't make my feet look like gun-boats. Very pleased with this product! March 22, 2011
Perfect for a Midwest winter! I became interested in Sorel when my two best friends showed up with the Joan of Artic boot, unknowing that each other made the purchase. Their raves and a cross country skiing trip to MN prompted my purchase. I'm a size 8.5 wide and these boots fit just right with normal socks on, they are a little snug with thick socks and entirely too hot if you plan to be sitting inside. If you wear short socks, the screws on the backs of the ankles are definitely palpable, so I always wear them with a long sock, medium thickness for ultimate comfort. Otherwise, they are entirely waterproof, have stayed in good, clean looking condition throughout the winter and are cute cute cute. I have gotten tons of compliments and even in a huge city like Chicago, I see very few other people with this same style. Overall, a great, stylish, warm and hardy winter boot! February 13, 2011
not warm for long These are an attractive boot but I don't find them to be very warm. At first I thought it was because they were a little loose on me so I put insoles in. Still not warm. Today was -16˚C and I spent about 15 minutes outside and my toes froze up. The cold seems to radiate in at the top of my foot. I bought these boots for the cold weather and unfortunately I will have to find something else. January 29, 2011
Don't miss out I have a traditional pair of Sorels that I bought used and replaced the liner... they are awesome, just not tall enough sometimes. The Helen of Tundra is the ideal boot, cute enough to wear out, but more importantly they are warm and water proof. I think they are extremely comfortable too! I wear them doing everything, soveling thigh deep snow, walking the dog on the beach in knee deep snow. I delayed the purchase due to price, but they were worth every penny! January 27, 2011
Tundra's I love most everything about these boots but something on the inside of the heel area is rubbing my heel wrong making it uncomfortable after wearing for awhile. It's hard on the inside pressing against my heel. Any suggestions on correcting this? January 10, 2011
Comfortable and perfect fit I was a bit apprehensive after reading a review saying this boot was uncomfortable and that the heel didn't fit. I found the opposite. Tried on the boots as soon as they arrived and wore them for about an hour. Found them a perfect fit, true to size, and comfortable while walking or resting. Wonderfully warm. It's also easy to fit my jeans inside the boot without it feeling too tight.I have an old pair of Sorels (about 22 years old) that are still wearable, but they're not as warm and don't fit as comfortably. I think I bought them too large. They will now be retired even though they're still serviceable. January 6, 2011
finally got it right all my life i've bought boots for winter, they wear well enough to get me through to the next winter here in cleveland, these boots have proven that being a cheapskate is a waste of hard earned money and make me think of all the money i just threw away. these boots are excellent. December 23, 2010
I love them!! I couldn't wait to wear them...and true to the weather in Montana, I got to wear them right away. They fit great, they are warm....and they are comfortable. Lots of compliments, too. December 15, 2010
Couldn't ask for more! I got these boots a few weeks ago and had been waiting anxiously to wear them; I finally got to this morning. I wore them out shopping for black friday, and they were so incredibly warm and comfy! I was nervous about spending so much on them after reading some reviews about sizing (particularly about problems with the heel being painful), but they fit wonderfully and I didn't experience any discomfort at all. The calf fits me pretty perfectly with my jeans tucked in, but my calf is fairly small, so I can see how it would be an issue for some. They're a little bit hard to walk in, but I'm betting that as I break them in, it will get easier. Great boots overall! November 26, 2010
The Perfect Winter Boot!!! OK, so I have been searching high and low for not just a great looking winter boot, but one that is practical...warm, comfortable, durable. I FOUND THEM!!! I have read plenty of reviews, on this particular boot, all over the internet. The ratings have been mixed. One complaint, that I read more than once, is that they are uncomfortable and hit the back of your ankle in a very uncomfortable way. Not my experience. I finally got my boots in the mail today, immediately tried them on, walked around in them a bit, and sadly removed them (hardly cold enough, haha). I have not one complaint. They are EXTREMELY comfortable, very cute on and hug your calf perfectly; not too tight, not too loose. I couldn't be happier about this purchase. A winter must have!!! Oh, and also, contrary to some of the reviews I had read about the sizing being tricky. I found them to be very true to size!!! September 13, 2010
Do not buy these shoes. They are cute and nice and warm but they hurt and it's no fun to wear them for more than five minutes. You should better buy other shoes. September 5, 2010
