How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Winner! Great boot, kind of bulky but very warm and comfortable! Needed half a size smaller than recommended size from chart. October 26, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by way too big I haven't worn them in the snow yet so I'm only reviewing the size. I'm usually a 6.5 and according to most of the reviews it was true to size. When I got the 6.5 it was a couple inches too big! I felt like I was clunking around in men's shoes. After reading the fit guide I measured my feet and ordered a 5.5 according to the sizing chart. These fit better, feels snug, a bit around my big toes, but not a deal breaker. Return shipping isn't free so measure before you buy! October 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Keeper My last Sorel boots lasted 20+ plus years. My garage was broken into and my boots were taken. I ordered these as a replacement and am not disappointed. Great quality as expected. Hope these will carry me through another 20 years. October 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Choosing a size to purchase I read all the reviews and was quite confused on what size to purchase. I bought an 8.5 and they ended up being too big, had to exchange for size 8. USE THE SOREL FIT GUIDE, measure your foot in CM and order that size for 1964 premium leather boot (this will also include taking into account the liner) Facts: In the Sorel Slimpack boot and a pair of the 1964 wedges I wear a size 9. My Nike running shoes are a size 9. Don't waste your money on return shipping and playing the waiting game - use the Sorel fit guide. October 9, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by A little disappointed Thsee boots are of nice quality but unfortunately are very clunky. If you have short legs like me I wouldn't recommend getting these. September 23, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Too Clunky Though the boot is beautiful online, the boot is very large, heavy, and not flattering. They made my feet look massive; maybe twice their regular width. They definitely wouldn't be my go-to for any day-to-day activities. Will be returning. To Sorel's credit: These seem like they are high quality, and they might be nice for very snowy/wet regions. September 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excited to give these a shot Read many of the posts on here before ordering. I definitely recommend ordering a 1/2 size down from your normal size. I have never been anything but an 8 and ordered a 7.5 and they fit perfect, even with thick winter socks. No comment yet on their actual functionality in snow/rain, since it's September in NY and I would be very sad if I actually had to use them at this point. I think I will get alot of use out of them come the winter though. September 17, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Sending these back for a new pair After putting these shoes on and taking them off a few times, I noticed a small tear in the rubber seem on the right shoe heel. I'm hoping this is just a manufacturing error because I know they are normally good quality shoes, and I'd hate for the rubber to rip even more while I'm walking in the snow. Aside from that dilemma the fit and comfort is very good. August 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Boot! I ordered my actual size and it is absolutely perfect! I am so obsessed with this boot it is so amazingly warm! DEFINITELY buy this boot. It also matches black or brown! November 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Will require a break-in period Just got my boots today. I ordered an 8 which is my normal size. Fits good! The boot looks and is a lot bigger on the outside but with the liner, it fits true to size for me on the inside. They would be too big without the liner. They are quite stiff, so they will need to be broken-in. They are fairly light considering their purpose. These are boots that I feel I will have for 10 years +. November 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots! I wanted to get these boots last year but they were sold out of my size so I made sure to get them plenty early this year! When I got the boots I tried them on and they fit perfectly. I love the way they look, too. I had my first opportunity to wear them yesterday and today with an early November snowstorm and they worked great! They kept my feet dry and warm. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone looking for an awesome pair of winter boots! I grew up wearing Sorel boots and am so glad to be back in a pair! November 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boot I have been wanting a pair of these boots for a while and I'm glad I made the decision to buy them. I was looking for a durable, waterproof, warm boot and that's what I found. After reading all the reviews, I decided to purchase the boots a half size smaller than I usually wear, which turned out perfect. When I first received the boots in the mail and tried them on, I was a little disappointed with the tip of the boot being much bigger than portrayed in the photos. However, it only took about two days of wearing them to fall in love. The first day I wore them, I got a compliment on their style. The boots are sturdy and well built. The leather was pretty stiff at first, but I'm sure they will be broken in before long. I wore them for the first time in the woods while hiking through mud and water in 30 degree weather. They kept my feet dry, warm and comfortable. The boots seem to lack arch support in my opinion, but probably fit great to most. Overall, I am happy I purchased the boots and will use them a lot in my line of work and lifestyle. Good job Sorel! November 3, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Looking too huge uncomfortable for walking Both my husband I ordered SOREL after doing extensive research and reading reviews. SIZE: We followed the size guideline, measured our feet and ordered accordingly. The size was a perfect fit. CONSTRUCTION: The shoes are sturdy and I can imagine them being warm and dry in the winter. The upper leather is very thick and at first quite hard to lace it tight. I believe like all leather shoes, this changes over the time. The felt inner boot was very comfy and warm. I was concerned about the lack of the arch support. On the pictures it looks like it has a very small heel, but it doesn't. To me it felt like the toes are slightly up and the whole weight ends up on the heel, which is a no no for any longer walk. We are used to wear heavy, big hiking boots, but we both decided to return these, because they were so huge it looked ridiculous. We tried walking around the house for 30 minutes and that was already a challenge. We ended up paying $34 for the return shipping. SOREL gave us money back within 5 days. I would recommend them for their sturdy built but maybe in a different model. October 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by so happy I always wanted a pair of these boots, and now I have them!! They fit perfectly and felt very comfortable when I tried them on. They seem to be really warm and that's exactly what I wanted. Now I just have to wait for the cold and rain to go test them!! I would recommend this product without hesitation. March 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly what I was looking for I ordered these boots for my daughter in place of another style that we couldn't get. She loved them! They are warm and keeps her feet dry. February 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love them!! I was looking to purchase similar boots, however no one carried my size. I found these in an 11 and they fit perfect. My 11 foot is truely an 11, actually closer to 11 1/2. Very warm in our artic blast in Chicago this past month. February 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Women's 1964 Heal fit is big. The rest is good. Very warm January 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My daughter loves them, keeps her feet toasty warm I ordered these for my daughter on line. Was having problems with accepting billing info, so I called Sorel directly and they took my info, arranged for delivery. Everything was great. Delivery was quick and easy to follow tracking route to determine when they would arrive. Main thing is she LOVES them. With Cold weather we have been having here in Canada, i now don't worry about her being cold. Size was very close. She ordered tens, which is usual for her, she felt they were snug but any other size would be total off. I'm sure she will good to go for many many years with these boots. I would def order myself a pair when I need my current winter boots replaced January 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very well made This boot is very well made, however I had to return it because the boot was made for a much colder climate than I live in, so they were thicker and heavier than I needed. They would be great for heavy snow though. I returned the boots and customer service with sorel is excellent. You won't regret buying from them! January 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good purchase I am very happy with my purchase. The shoes are very good quality. They keep my feet very warm ! Even when I walk in the snow for a long time. I took them in brown, and they go with everything. I'm usually a size 11 and the size is very good. January 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots I am normally a 9 1/2 or 10 but the 9 fits perfect. Comfortable and Durable - would recommend January 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by 1964 Prem LTR Even though this is a good product, I returned it because the tongue is a stiff synthetic material on the leather upper. Everything else is good. January 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Women's 1964 Premium LTR Boot Love the look of the boot! Thanks January 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boot Bought these for my daughter for her birthday. She absolutely loves them. Size was a perfect fit! I tried them on also, since I'm the same size. I'll have to order a pair for myself!!! January 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots! I got these boots because I needed a pair that could withstand the brutal Minnesota winters. I have only had them for a couple weeks, but so far I am impressed with the sturdiness. They keep my feet perfectly dry, which is important in the snow and cold! They also are warm thanks to the felt liner. I am normally an 8.5-9 in shoes. I bought the 9 so I could wear thick socks. They are still a little large, so I would recommend sizing down if you can. As far as style, I think they are cute, though they are very sturdy looking. Previously I had a pair of slimmer, more feminine boots that only made it through two seasons (rubber cracked on bottom), so I am hoping these boots will be the perfect blend of function and fashion. So far, I am very happy with my purchase! January 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by comfy and warm They fit snug on my foot, but not too tight. I wear an 8-8.5 in shoes and I ordered an 8.5 in these. They fit perfect. They are warm and comfy and I think cute! The only thing is that happened was when I was pulling them on my foot; the little loop on the back, it broke, but I am just I could fix it by sewing it back on. December 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Christmas Got it for my wife. Best Christmas ever. December 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by comfy, warm, great for wide toes I usually size up and wear insoles because I have wide toes, but for these I ordered a size down after my first pair of boots from Sorel were bigger than I thought they'd be. These are the most comfortable shoes I own and I wear them even when it's dry. I don't care what people think, they feel great! December 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Contrary to popular reviews, found it ran slightly small I'm moving out to a very cold location soon and wanted some good winter boots to take with me. I found these and they sounded like they'd be everything I wanted. I read the other reviews, most of which recommended ordering a slightly smaller size. I'm a size 8.5, so I ordered size 8s, which turned out to be too small. Thankfully returns are easy, so I just returned them and ordered a size 9. The 9s fit well, with a little extra room to put on thick socks as well. December 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I wish I could wear them every day I was a little unsure of them at first. I have never owned a pair of "duck boots" and they seemed a little oversized and strange at first. However, I received them during the coldest and rainiest month ever and wore them every day for almost two weeks! And now I LOVE them!! I get compliments every time I wear them! The leather is super high quality and is the type of leather that just gets better with age. The boots fit pretty true to size. I wear a size 6.5 in most shoes and a 7 in boots and the 6.5 fit fine with thinner or thicker socks. December 12, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by This product has great features Like the color Feel confortable inside November 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boot! I live in New York City, so while we don't get super crazy snow, what we do get typically is very slushy/wet, and gets disgusting very fast. I've been trying to figure out a good winter boot approach for this for a few years (even tried the Joan of Arctic, but wasn't into the poofy fur), and I've finally found it! As a 5'2", 140lb chick, they definitely are pretty large, but I appreciate where they hit on the leg (about mid-calf) so they don't make my legs look super stumpy. Sometimes I lace them up tight, sometimes let them loose, but either way they're VERY comfortable, and the lining is very warm! It's nice to have a waterproof boot that isn't just a rainboot, but that I'll feel confident sloshing through the muck in! November 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boots Just moved from the UK and its my first year in Minnesota, so had to get some good winter boots. Got these beauties and I love them. the only problem is that I'm usually a standard size 10 (UK size 8). When I ordered the boots, I got the size 10, but they are way too big. I'm currently sitting in my office wearing them and I have a normal sock and a wool sailor sock on but there is still some space in the shoe. I tried on a size in 9 at the Mall of America but that was way too small and I could not find a half size. Overall, the brown leather is stylish and the boots are warm without being hot. Great style, especially if you're going for short skirts and clunky boots. November 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by My feet stay toasty and DRY! I really like these boots. I wore them hiking in the rain today in fairly cold weather (<40F) and my toes stayed cozy, warm and above all dry! These are very good quality boots that I hope will last a lifetime. I do wish they came with maintenance instructions though; I only found out through my mom that it's good to rub mink oil on the leather to keep it waterproof and supple for a long time. I also wish they came with a second pair of laces, just in case, but oh well. My favorite part is that they are like most other rugged, "duck boots" --super durable, high quality--but they are also very fashionable. I chose them specifically for the color of the leather and rubber, which is more my taste than others combinations. I also like how the liner is removable (so I can add thicker stuff during the colder months and take it out for spring rain). However, the liner does make things a little tight. I normally wear a 7-7.5; I bought an 8 and they're all little snug, but not uncomfortable. I then ordered a 9, but without the liner, they were wayyy to big. Overall, I expect these boots to be with me for many years, whether I'm hiking in the woods or shopping in the rain. I love these boots because they are so versatile! May 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Cold Weather Shoe I was looking for a waterproof boot for the sludge-filled Chicago winters. These boots do the job. They are warm and keep my feet dry. A little clunky, they took a few times to get used to. I initially developed blisters on my heels but once the leather broke in, I was fine. They run a size big. I am normally a 7 and ordered a 6. They fit perfect and I still have room for a thicker pair of socks. March 27, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cute boots--but... I purchased these boots last winter (2012). I haven't worn them on many occasions, simply because there hasn't been much need (anyone living in Colorado's Front Range area would probably agree). However, this February, I notice the rubber on the left heel was beginning to crack horizontally along the logo. I wore the boots once (it snowed, so I had no choice!) after noticing the problem; the crack grew and (again) my foot was wet and cold! I am very disappointed, considering my expectations of Sorel craftsmanship and the price paid for these boots. I plan to call Sorel to see if there's something that can be done to replace them. March 24, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boot! I have lived in Alaska my entire life but have refused to buy winter boots, instead I made do with whatever shoes I had at the time. Recently bought these after being away at uni. for four years and cursed myself for not doing it before. They are comfortable, light and easy to slip into. Highly recommend them. However, if you would like the truly warm ones I would recommend the fur-lined pairs. I chose this pair because I can wear them in fall and elsewhere in the world without sweaty feet! Thanks Sorel! March 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Classic and Practical I originally purchased the 1964 CVS, but size 10 was too large (I'm a pretty solid size 10 in most shoes). The LTRs come in half sizes and they also look pretty darn good. When they came in the mail, I was frustrated that the heel seemed to slip. I tried on my friend's boots (different brand) and they did a similar thing. I haven't owned a pair of snow boots since I was a kid, so it could be I just forgot how they fit. Still a little nervous about the fit, I took my new boots on a trip to Iceland the next day and was not disappointed - my feet didn't feel cramped, I never got blisters and they stayed toasty warm in the freezing rain. Pretty excited about my purchase. Not to mention Sorel has EXCELLENT customer service - incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. March 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by In Between Sizes but LOVE this stylish winter boot These are THE best winter boots I've ever bought! They are definitely 100% waterproof and sturdy-they can take a long day in slush and snow and keep my toes dry & warm. I was in between sizes and struggled for a long time on which ones to go with. I am an 8 1/2 and bought both the 8 & 9 to try. I would have been happy with either to be honest, but the size of the boot does take some getting used to since it's a little bulkier than your normal shoe. The fit itself didn't feel much different- the 9 would have been uber comfy. But, I went with the 8 & am very happy with them! I can wear with big ski socks or normal ones and feel comfortable. Plus I think they're super stylish, I prefer wearing these all winter knowing they won't get ruined or worn by the snow than any other boot. LOVE them! February 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Buy it, I say Bought this with its lining. I'm usually a size 6 - 6.5, sometimes 7 depending on brand. Followed other reviews and sized down to a 6 and they fit perfectly. A bit snug at firs, but after a few hours of wear, they were perfect. Wore them out walking during single digit temperatures and they kept my feet warm, yet it's weird that as soon as I stayed still I could feel my feet starting to freeze. Love the way that they do not look very "snow boot"-ish. Reminiscent of a pair of high top converse. I've gotten lots of compliments from both men and women. Also tried jumping on water puddles and digging my feet into a pile of snow, just for the heck of it, and yea, they really are water proof. February 14, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Wet Feet! Love the way these look and feel, but they're not keeping my feet dry! Sending them back and making use of the warranty. I need waterproof boots in the Wisconsin winter. My friend has these exact boots as well, and hers are perfect. Must be a defective pair. How sad for me! February 8, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Sock Troubles? Anyone else having trouble with their socks falling down after walking a bit? The fit is a bit clunky, so they rub downward when I walk. And yes, they are very wide. A bit difficult to walk in. But definitely warm. February 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Quality Winter Boot This is a great option for a slimmer but warm winter boot. The leather is a great option for long lasting waterproof protection. We initially ordered these boots because of some additional perceived features of an extra snow cuff and wool liner. Once I received the boots I realized that they didn't have some of the features that they listed. I found out that they had accidentally carried over the description of the Caribou boots when creating the product page for these boots. So just be careful that you cross reference features of your boots and make sure they are actual and call in to their customer service (they are super nice) and double check. Needless to say the boots are great, and my only gripe is that I wish they came in half sizes. January 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Boot This boot is great for my lifestyle in Colorado. My feet never get cold or wet in winter. January 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love love love them From the moment my foot was got put into these boots they have been in heaven! I have only had them a week and have worn them several times. I live in Southern California but work work with horses and am in the mountains every other weekend. So far they have been amazing! They are wider than some other shoes that Sorel Has but its due to the Wool liner in it and that wool liner is what make these shoes what they are for me! Hope you enjoy them ! April 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sorel 1964 Premium Leather Boots I LOVE the look and feel of these boots! Excellent quality! February 7, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great winter boot! A little wide and definitely runs a size too big. February 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these! great snow boot that is still wearable in a casual workplace! January 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots, but definitely fits big! I love these boots! However, I didn't take the advice that run large seriously enough at first: I'm between a 6 and 7, but leaning towards the 7 so I decided that I should get the 7 still. They were huge on me! When I exchanged them and got a 6, they fit great: not too tight at all. The boots have a great liner to help insulate them, so they're a perfect not-too-clunky boot that can withstand the snow as I walk around my college campus. Very happy with the quality. January 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this boot I chose this style over the Caribou because it was not quite as industrial looking. The foot bed is a little slimmer and more refined. I have the Caribou, which I bought in Canada years ago and still love it. I needed a pair to leave up north and wanted to duplicate, but the Caribou is much more clunky looking now than back then. The 1964 is is perfect. I ordered the liner to fit with the the shirring on top like the Caribou and it fits and looks great. It also makes it easier to get on as the shirring keeps the felt liner from slipping down in the boot when you slide your foot in. I have not worn this boot, yet. Believe it or not, here in Michigan we are still waiting for snow. January 5, 2012
