Women's Caribou® Boot

Women's Caribou® Boot 4.5 5 117 117
Great product This boot is perfect for the cold weather. The height is perfect and the fact that it is completely closed makes snow play time and work time much more fun. Also the liner on the inside was not as warm as I expected. Not to mention that these boots are fashionable; they go with jeans, leggings, snow pants. If you wanted to you can even tuck your jeans into the boot and it becomes a great snow bunny look. Lastly, these boots are impossible to slipp in. Walking on ice is like driving with chains/4 wheel drive.Overall this are great boots and I would recommend them to any customer. December 18, 2011
Gorgeous Boots! I bought these boots as a Christmas present to myself and I am so happy I did! I ordered the black pair and received them yesterday - they are gorgeous and well made!! (They remind my of $300 ski boots!) After reading the reviews I decided to to get a size 6 instead of my usual size 7. When I first tried them on they were a bit snug. But after walking around in them they got roomier and are now very comfortable. I also tried them on without the inside sock/lining and the boot was super big! I personally had trouble pulling out the liner - but if you tug from the fluffy top you will see where the liner seperates from the actual boot and you can pull out. The boots are on the heavy side so I don't forsee myself walking all day in them. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and looking forward to NYC's first blizzard! December 25, 2010
Women's Caribou Boot Has a refreshing color, instead of dark colors. Very comfortable. These are fashionable, along with a quality that will keep my feet dry & warm, for many winters to come. Looking forward to being able to wear them next winter. May 6, 2013
They fit great! Before I ordered, I read so many mixed responses about size in the reviews. I think they fit perfect!! They are a little tight getting in on the ankle area...but they are supposed to be to keep the cold out! What many people who haven't owned a pair in the past don't know, is that the liners are like any soft liner. They are nice and snug when they're new, and they break in and form to your feet as you wear them. I am mostly a 7, rarely a 7 1/2, but never an 8. So I ordered a 7 and they fit like a glove! When next winter hits, my feet will be comfy, toasty and dry. Thanks Sorel! April 2, 2013
Perfect fit I have been needing winter/snow boots for a long time. I had looked all over and never really found anything that struck me. I finally got onto Sorel's website and found what I was looking for. I love them! They fit right out of the box!! I have since worn them for geocaching and snowshoeing. March 31, 2013
Not what I expected, but I am keeping them. I have been coveting my neighbor's boots for a while (& she LOVES hers), so I finally ordered my own. I ordered the gray ones and they look fantastic. My two complaints are 1)The liner is not attached to the boot and I couldn't get my foot in at first. I ended up pulling the liner out, putting my foot into it, THEN inserting it into boot (cumbersome). The actual boot is huge, but the liner fits like a glove. 2) Once I walked around in the boot, the right outer boot began to cut into my ankle. It is probably unique to this boot because of the interior waterproofing and will hopefully loosen up in time as they are worn in. I have a textbook sized 9 foot--not wide, not narrow, just right. I am not returning them because I got them on sale & I've already paid for shipping one way. I am replacing an ancient pair of Columbia boots, which have attached Sherpa liners. March 29, 2013
Too Clunky These shoes are great quality and will definitely keep all weather out. However, the shoes are much clunkier than they appear in the picture, i.e. there is a lot of rubber on the bottom, more than it looks like there is. So much so that it effected my walking, I had to return them. March 27, 2013
This product was the best choi Found that I needed a larger size so I returned and ordered another pr. Sorel was excellent in handling this and the boots are perfect. March 27, 2013
No Half Sizes :( I love these boots, but since I'm an 8 1/2 and there are no half sizes, I sized down to an 8 thinking they would be a bit big and bulky. Plus, my husband has the same boots in size 10, which is his size, but noticed that they ran big on his feet. As a result, I sized down and unfortunately they were too small. I'm sending them back for a 9. Why doesn't Sorel make these in 1/2 sizes? March 24, 2013
Great Quality I just wore my Caribou's for the first time. Temperature was barely in the teens with 8 inches of snow on the ground. I do ministry work. Today I was out walking for a couple of hours and my feet were toasty warm ... just what I was hoping they would be. I have no doubt they will be just as warm in subzero degrees. These boots, when laced up, hugged my leg so no snow got in.Here is my experience with size. I normally wear a 7 to 7 1/2 and I bought a size 8. Good thing because they just fit. So they run slightly small. The lining makes it moderately hard (I was wearing tights) to get your foot in and out. You also have to hold on to the wooly top of the boot (thats where the lining starts) in order to even get in or out. Since the boot unties and the lining is separate, the lining is a much tighter fit. But then again, that is what keeps your feet toasty warm! March 24, 2013
Buy 1/2 to 1 size smaller!!!!! I wish I had carefully read the reviews about the fit before I purchased these boots. They are super cute and high quality, but way too chunky, heavy and big.I'm a 6.5, but I regularly have to buy a 7 when companies don't carry half sizes. I unfortunately went with the size 7 as usual and I truly regret this now. The boots come with a separate felt boot inside which is smaller and gave me the false impression that the 7 was the right size. However, the lining stretches eventually. Bottom line, after one use my feet were swimming inside and there was no returning at this point. It's very hard to walk with ill-fitted boots that weigh 1 lb each. Not to mention I have to wear them with thick socks which makes my feet sweat and is completely unnecessary since the boots are made for -40F. That's a real shame. On the positive side, the boots are very cute, warm and extremely well made. My previous Sorel snow boots lasted 8 years of heavy use and I expect these to last as long. March 24, 2013
GREAT!!!! The whole order from start to finish could not have gone any better! Thanks March 21, 2013
Sturdy but heavy These shoes are very stylish and sturdy and warm, however, they are also very heavy - seems like I'll have to spend my first few snowstorms getting used to walking in them before I feel comfortable. March 18, 2013
They Came At The Right Time I purchased these boots right before we got hit with a winter storm and I wanted something that would keep me firmly on the ground, warm and dry and that would allow me to wear my work trousers easily. These boots delivered. The are totally toasty and waterproof and I didn't feel like I was slipping. I wear a 10 and my feet are slightly narrow but they were great. There's room enough to wear heavier socks or fit a M to W foot. My only issue is that they can be heavy but you can really bust through the slush and snow while feeling safe; it's worth the extra weight. March 15, 2013
Expectations Exceeded I am very pleased with my new boots! They are warmer than I expected which is great but that means I have a little wiggle room since I sized them with larger socks on. I wear them every day and my feet stay dry and warm every time, and I live in MN. My only complaint is they're hard to drive in. :) March 13, 2013
Yet another woman's boot too tight I read the reviews before purchasing boots for my wife. I have Sorel boots that I bought in 2012 and I love them, they fit perfectly. Other reviews on the woman's boot said they were very difficult to put on and take off. Luckily my wife has a small foot and ankle/calf or else we would have to return this boot as well. I just don't understand how so many people can have the same issue yet Sorel hasn't made the necessary changes. The boot is tight on my wife by she is going to put up with it. Its not actually the boot but the insert that is the issue. Why won't someone take the bull by the horns and fix this?? March 13, 2013
GREAT! Great style, great fit, great value! GREAT! Time tested, always the highest quality. Fits like a glove. This is the 3rd pair of Sorels I own. All different styles of course. The warmest, driest boot for all types of environments. March 12, 2013
kind of bummed out I have always wanted a pair of caribous - i knew from friends that once you buy a pair they are yours for life. These boots are awesome, love the color (tusk), the construction is top notch...BUT - they are absolutely HUGE. I am a true size 8 and have never had size issues with Sorels before (I own several different styles). When I pulled them out of the box and tried them on I thought I had ordered a men's 8 by accident. They were a woman's 8 but I should have gotten a size 7...especially when I know they will pack out over time. My heels rise up out of the heel cup, my toes are swimming the in the toe box...you get the idea. I wore them with my thick Smartwool snowboarding socks and still felt like I was clunking around in them. Already wore them outside so I can't return them...will most likely give them to a friend with bigger feet. March 12, 2013
Very Warm!!! First pair of boots I have ever owned that keep my feet warm March 4, 2013
Great, but size up These boots are great. Only issue was the sizing -- if in doubt when ordering, size slightly larger than you think you need. I'm usually a 7, but my toes are right at the end of these boots (without thick socks). March 2, 2013
Great for cold weather I purchased these for a trip to Vermont and to have a decent pair of snow boots when shoveling snow - it seems to be snowing much more here in NJ than last year. I am so used to shoveling in rain boots that allow my feet to freeze and hurt after 10 minutes, even with thick socks on. When I wore these, they kept my feet warm all day. They run a little big. I usually range between a 7.5 and an 8. I ordered an 8 and found them still a little roomy. The only thing I didn't like was that they were heavy, but that could be because I'm used to wearing cheap rain boots. If you're looking for a boot to keep your feet warm in the cold weather, I definitely recommend these. February 28, 2013
Great value I usually wear an 8, but I followed the other reviewers' suggestions and purchased a 7. The boots themselves are huge, but they are a great fit with the lining. Getting my feet in and out of the lining takes several minutes, but the boots are warm and a great value. February 28, 2013
This product is sized smaller that other Sorel boots I own a pair of size 8 Sorels in a different style so I ordered these in a size 8. Disappointed that they were too small. Currently no size 8 1/2 available. The quality of the boots is exceptional, very disappointed that I couldn't put them to use right away. February 24, 2013
Warm I ordered a pair of Sorels because I needed something warm and waterproof with good traction. This boot is all of those things. Just wish these came in half sizes.SIZE- I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 (usually a 9.5 due to added width). These boots only come in whole sizes so I ordered a 10. At first I felt like they were way too big. With thick enough socks they fit better, but the boots are so warm needing thick socks isn't really a concern.- The width is great, and the arch actually hits my arch (something I always have trouble with), but they are at least a half inch too long.- If the boots stretch too much they really will be too big. Might need to find a different pair next year.- I have large calves and usually have a problem finding boots, but these ones fit my legs well.COMFORT- Not too comfortable for walking around all day, bu they'll keep you dry and warm when outside.LOOK/STYLE- They make my feet look huge, which is why I almost tried to exchange them for a different style that has half sizes.- They are cute. February 23, 2013
Love My New Boots! I've owned a pair of these boots for years that were just a tad too small (I am a 8.5 and bought the 8 on super sale years ago). Found another sale and now own the 9. My feet are never cold and I can wear my heavy Smart Wool socks or the lighter weight ones and they fit just fine. I am WARM, stable on snow/ice and can walk comfortably. I can actually drive my Prius in these boots. I use them for extended play or walks outside with the dogs. I am quite glad I invested in a new pair. This should do it for years to come...thank you for continuing to offer this product. February 22, 2013
The penultimate winter boot This California girl had business in Montreal-- in February! I needed a sturdy, warm winter boot (I knew my trusty Uggs wouldn't cut it) and I decided to buy the classic Sorel Caribou. I read dozens of customer reviews before my purchase. Many said that the boots run large and that they are hard to get in and out of. Well, they do run large, but I suppose that is to accommodate heavy socks. I wore my thickest pair, and the boots fit comfortably. Yes, it is a little difficult to extract one's feet from the boots (due to the heavy, warm bootie-style liner) but I was grateful that the insulation provided full coverage without any gaps or openings. So, I tramped around Montreal in heavy snow and ice. The boots provided terrific warmth and traction. I expect they will last forever. On the way home, I saw a guy in the airport, wearing a pair of Caribous that were probably 25 years old-- well-worn and sporting a little duct tape over one seam. I hope mine look the same one day! Oh, the best part is that they were on sale via the Sorel website. It might be the best $100 I ever spent. Thanks, Sorel! February 22, 2013
Great, warm boots The Caribou boot is just what I needed for Chicago weather. They are extremely warm and comfortable. I love that they are waterproof too. The only thing I would say was a negative, they are a little heavy-but that's what you get for wanting heavy duty boots! February 17, 2013
True to fit My biggest fear about buying shoes online is the fit. Well, I can say that I am impressed! The shoes fit great! They are really comfortable and warm too. February 12, 2013
Sorel Women's Caribou Boot Purchase Size 8 women The boots filled my expectations; I feel secure, confort, and I even feel proud to wear them...! I will advice that you get just your size, not more not less, in doing so, you will be walking very confortable and don't need thick sucks; otherwise, it will be difficult to get your foot in. The boots are warm enough to give you all the confort in the worst weather. Great buy.! February 11, 2013
Great investment I am very pleased with this purchase. The boots were pretty much true to size (maybe a tad large, but this is easily corrected with thick socks) and extremely comfortable and warm. While the leather color is very attractive (I ordered the grey boots), the waterproof rubber soles definitely make feet look double their size. You won't be worrying about this too much though since your feet will be cozy and protected from water, snow and ice. February 11, 2013
Advice when you order My best advice when ordering these snow boots... Order a size up so you have room for your smart wool socks... These are great boots to keep your tootsies warm in frigid weather. February 10, 2013
This boot has great features Boots are high quality made and very warm, but very heavy for everyday wear. I am exchanging for another style Sorel boot that's not quite as heavy in weight. I would definitely recommend this boot to someone whose main purpose is for extreme warmth and durability, that doesn't mind a bit of a heavier boot. February 9, 2013
Good Product The boots seem to be made from good quality materials. They are very warm. The lining on the inside does have a tight fit, and they are a little heavy. The actual size of the shoe runs a little big, but the lining around the top runs small. However overall they are great. February 8, 2013
Caribou Boots looked great until you try to put them on. They have an inner boot that is so small and the band at the top and along that inner boot is so unstretchable that will not allow you to get your foot into the boot. I bought these thinking that a lace up boot would be easier to get on. Unless you foot is a twig good luck trying to pull them on. The actual outer boot looks as thought it would fit and be great but the inside is a major flaw. I am very disappointed in that it looks like a great a boot. January 30, 2013
I LOVE THEM! These are the best boots I ever bought. They keep my feet warm and look stylish at the same time. I usually wear and 8.5 and bought an 8 and they fit great. I would definately recommend these boots!! January 28, 2013
Caribou Women's boots I find these are both too small and too large at the same time. I normally wear a 6.5. At the suggestion of other reviews I ordered a 6 because it sounds like these boots run large. The shell of the boot is still a bit too large for me, however, the insert (insulation) is so small I can barely get my foot in and out of the boot! I have to sit down and struggle for ~5 min!I want to love these boots. They feel very nice on, but I'm not sure they are worth the $140 if I can't get them on and off easily! I would love to know how they change with use - will then end up fitting perfectly if I "break them in"!? January 22, 2013
They Work for Me! This is my 2nd pair of Sorels. I made do with a small pair of men's Sorels for years, and finally decided I deserved a pair of women's that fit me better than the men's, which were a little too large, & a little too wide. My Caribous arrived during a record-breaking cold snap, when the daily high temperatures reached 31 degrees if we were lucky. The fit is great, the quality is second-to-none, and my toes are finally toasty again. Now I can take the dogs for a walk no matter what the thermometer says! Sorel quality can't be beat. January 17, 2013
caribou boot I feel stable, warm and dry in my women's caribou boots in all snow & ice conditions. January 16, 2013
Best boot on ice Even though I don't need a boot that can withstand the levels of cold that this boot can, I bought it for wearing on walks with my dogs. A lot of people don't shovel their sidewalks, so it gets quite icy. I have tried several other boots but this is the only one that I feel confident in. As noted in other reviews, the felt lining is very tight and difficult to get on and off at first. I wear just a very light sock and I found after several wearings, the boot becomes much easier to get on and off. I bought a 1/2 size smaller than usual and it seems to be the right decision, although I think once the felt becomes compressed, the boot is starting to feel larger in the ankles, so we'll see. I tried using the "fit guide" tool on the website - but it was way off! January 12, 2013
Serious Snow boot if you are looking for a serious snow boot, then you have come to the right place. these boots are even more substansial than i was expecting. i was originally looking for a saturday-running-errands kind of boot that would also be a good snow boot. i will not be wearing these to run around town on saturdays, but i will be using these to shovel lots of snow. the boots are quite heavy and bulky. also very warm with the liner in there. i bought a 9 which i normally wear and they fit just fine. looking forward to owning these for years, the quality is unmatched by other boots on the market. January 7, 2013
Love This Boot It was hard to get on and off the very first time I put them on. At first I thought that the boot may be to small because my foot fit the whole boot; there was not much room left over for my foot. But I walked around in them for a while in the house and didn't feel any rubbing against my feet. So I wore them to work the next day and they felt great. I am glad that I got my size boot instead of a size smaller or bigger. January 6, 2013
Boots look nice and study Really disappointed, couldn't get my foot in past the top tight elastic... sending them back. Why did you make the top area so darn tight with no expansion possible? December 30, 2012
Good snow boots I haven't worn these out in the snow yet...will try them out in about 3 days though. They are extremely well made, durable, thick, and warm. They are a true 11 Medium. I am an 11 wide normally and therefore have to wear thin ski socks to accommodate for the lack of width I usually require. (They don't come in wides). But if you wish, you can order the exact same shoe in a man's size if needed. They are not lightweight but instead are pretty heavy. They probably need to be that way for the type of weather they will face. December 27, 2012
Great Boot I normally wear a 7.5 but since these boots don't come in half sizes I went to an 8 and I love them! They are warm and cute!! December 27, 2012
Terri I am very pleased with these boots. I read the reviews that said they ran a little large, so I went with the 8 (I'm an 8-1/2) and they fit great. I live on an island in northern Michigan and it gets cold here. These boots are very warm and super stylin!! December 26, 2012
Beautiful Boot! My daughter bought these for her sister in law for Christmas last year and they were at the top of her list this year! She loves them. They are so sturdy, and arrived almost overnight! Thank you!! December 23, 2012
Mmmm boots. So far these boots have been great. They are a bit heavy and stiff to walk in at first, but give it a few times of walking around for awhile and they will begin to break in. They are also hard to get into for awhile. Those things aside, the boots have most definitely kept my feet toasty and most importantly- dry. You also have pretty great traction and they are easily wiped down. December 23, 2012
Great quality but runs large I bought these to go on a ski trip. They are a lot bulkier then they look on the model. I am normally a size 9 to 8.5 so I got the 8 and without socks they swallow my feet but with thicker socks they fit perfectly. If I take the insert out they are really big on me. I have heard wonderful things about their durability and I hope they will last me a long time. December 16, 2012
Love these boots! So sturdy, warm, CLASSIC. December 11, 2012
love 'em kept my feet very warm deer hunting....awesome December 4, 2012
