How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Boots Got these at a great price for my husband. Great quality. His feet will be toasty warm for years. June 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Made for Canadian Winters I have had these boots for two winters and they have always kept my feet warm, even in the harshest of winter conditions. My first pair had the issue of the cracking rubber, but Sorel stands behind their product and sent me a new pair after talking to their customer service department. The new rubber does seem to be more flexible and pliable. I love these boots and wouldn't think twice about buying them again or recommending them to family and friends. October 27, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Cheap rubber I've used Sorrel Caribou boots for about 25 or 30 years, buying a new pair every two years or so. The last time the rubber cracked at the point where the foot flexes in less than two months. I keep older pairs to use for rough work where I might not want a new pair being used, and notice that the rubber has become increasingly thin over the course of the past few years, which corresponds to it becoming cracked much sooner. These cracks let in water and snow. After the last experience I switched to a different brand, which is holding up fine, but is not as easy to wear. Would like to try Sorrels again, but at $180 CA it's a big risk. Wondering what improvements have been made, and also if Sorrel now backs up the quality of these boos with a solid warranty? Tres satisfait. October 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Mens Caribou Boots My original Caribou boots lasted 39 years and are still I still occasionally wear them. They were my best winter boots of all time and were made in Canada. I live in Canada and the winters can get a bit nippy. I find the new Chinese boots look nice, but the rubber has started to crack, were they flex. I was told Columbia who owns the rights to Sorel is having some boots made in Vietnam, which hopefully will improve the quality. I would definitely consider them, but for now I trust my old pair. March 9, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by poor rubber This boot is now poorly manufactured, the rubber cracks far to easily, my previous pair lasted 20 + years and I put miles on them, these are junk and overpriced. Sorry to see the name now is meaningless. Let me know if you change your manufacturing practices as I enjoyed wearing them. February 25, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by cracked rubber I thought I bought quality, but like many others, also the rubber of my shoe cracked. February 11, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Cheap Rubber I was very happy with these boots, until after about 2 months the rubber started cracking. It's only a matter of time now before the crack opens up making the boot useless. So a poor rating because these boots are good for only one season. January 25, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Rubber Quality I have two pairs of Sorel Caribous which are 2-03 years old. Unfortunately, trhe rubber is cracked and disintegrating where they flex. As a suggestion manufacturing needs to be brought back to North America and quality improved to restore the quality for which Sorel's were once famous. January 8, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Cracked rubber... I have had Sorel's since they made them in Canada when I was younger. They used to last for years - after 2 years of casual wear, my Caribou's have cracked where they flex on the rubber portion and are now useless if the is any snow accumulation at all. Given the price point of these boots and the claims made by Sorel about the durability, I am more than a little disappointed. 30 years of Sorel boots and now I will buy something else... Poor imitation of a classic. I'm sure that the fact that they cracked after 2 1/2 years will allow the warranty department to politely tell me that "the warranty period is only 1 year, sorry about your experience" and tell me how they've fixed the rubber quality issues. I will share what I end up buying next! January 2, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Warm and tough, but lacks of ergonomics Its' warms and toughness are guaranteed. But its' shapes are lacking ergonomics. First time when I wore them, outside of my ankles were bleeding. After 3 weeks, still I suffer severe pain so I'm wearing a pair of thick socks and soccer ankle guards. I look forward this pair of boots to adjust to my feet soon before the real winter starts, but it's taking quite long. I like the design, warms and toughness, because of those high expectations, I was a little bit disappointed when it didn't fit me. November 28, 2014
November 17, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Boots don't last like they used to As others have stated in their reviews, I have had trouble with the 'rubber' cracking after only 3 years. I work in mining exploration and have been a fan of Sorel boots for many years. They used to be practical and durable. However, I find the quality has declined in the past 2 pairs I have bought. I suspect the rubber bottoms are more plastic than rubber now - thumbs down. My old Sorels did indeed last years, but one expects to get more 3 years out of them!! October 26, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cracked outer shell after 3 years I bought my Caribou's just before the 2011/2012 Winter and they worked well up until the start of this Winter; now they have huge cracks in the rubber of BOTH boots. I admit that this has been a terrible winter, but that is what I bought them for. I will begin my discussion with the warranty department today, but it's been almost three years and they have a one year warranty. I find it odd, that a product that most folks claim will last for at least 10 years, comes with a one year warranty. March 14, 2014
January 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by You need these... If you live in a location where the winters can be harsh, these boots are a tool you need to have on hand. (I think they look good too!). Caribous have been my go-to winter boot since 1970, for everything from snowshoeing (yes, they're a bit heavy) to winter backpacking, to commuting. They'll last you decades. How many boots can you say that about these days? I'm in Canada, and you would be hard pressed to find a Canadian outdoorsman that doesn't own a pair of these... January 5, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Rubber cracked on sides of boots. I purchased the Caribou boots in 01/25/12 and already the rubber has cracked where the boot bends as you walk and are now far from waterproof. I have yet to talk to customer service or warranty department but hoping they will fulfill my needs with a warranty even though they are a year over. December 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best I Ever had Caught them a couple of weeks ago and have used them twice today -16.8 C and windy used them to blow the snow best boots I have ever had (I'm 60 ) used quite a few pairs over the years. If they stand up over time will be very very happy. Ordered directly from Sorel(Web Site) on Saturday at 2:30 PM and where at my place on Tuesday at 12:05 PM. December 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Winter boots for my needs! I needed a pair of boots that I can wear during the Winter Season. I was not confident wearing my regular pair as it makes me slip and slide whenever there's ice and compacted snow on the ground. After searching the internet for the best non-slip winter boot, I found out about the Sorel Caribou. Not only does it looks great, it also serves its function really well! The included liner keeps my feet warm, toasty, and dry. I've read about the traction that the treads of these boots provide and they seem to be right about it. The boots feel very comfortable when walking. I wear skinny jeans with them so I can tuck the bottoms in or fold them up. I don't even bother to tighten the laces and would just casually lace them up just so that they will not drag in the ground. I had to go a size smaller as these boots are too large. I am a regular Size 9 but had to go to an 8 for the right fit. I guess it's sized in that manner because the designers are anticipating that some people will wear additional thick socks for even more cold protection. December 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Satisfied with them I've had them for a few years now and am satisfied with them. They are sturdier that the ones I had before, (Baffin) that were lighter and more comfortable to walk long distances though. They are not as pricey and high end, but enough for me. I wear them barefoot, without socks, and they keep me warm and dry, without my feet sweating because they contain plenty of air. I replaced the laces with elastic ones so that I can put them on without having to adjust the laces each time. Only problem is my son wanted a pair too and in spite of the fact we are in the middle of the winter, we could not find a single store in our area that carries them. They are not easy to find in the Toronto area, at least in winter. February 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A liftetime in prospect. Today I bought my Caribous for my Lapland Adventure within a few weeks. These guys feel awesome comfortable. And as all the reviews are correct, today I started a lifetime nice and warm toe's in prospect. I'll be back in 35 years. ;-) January 7, 2013
January 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by My unbelievable Sorel Caribous i find these reviews incredible. People have had the same boots for 30 years!!! This speaks volumes for the quality of them. Bought mine this year as we are getting snow more frequently in the UK. I absolutely love my boots - and was delighted at being able to wear them today.... Total grip, warm as toast utterly superb I am a convert. Worth Every Penny and it shows you get what you pay for December 16, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots When you finally get to go to Lambeau field for a football game - you have to go in style. A friend recommended the boots and I am thrilled to report they were everything I hoped for. They even came in a "silver and black" color scheme to show my team allegiance. Vic (Floyds Knobs, IN) December 16, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good through retirement... Strictly speaking, I bought these for my husband so I don't really know how they feel, but he loves them. He says they're probably not good if you were intending to walk 10 miles, but for hunting, fishing and working outdoors in a MN winter they're excellent. His feet stay warmer than they ever have in any boot he's ever owned and that includes combat issued cold-weather Army boots! We know Sorels well being Minnesotans and these are probably going to last until our now 4 yr old son has graduated college or longer. When you buy Sorel you know it's a long-term investment and worth every dime. Great buy! December 8, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best for the Snow! These are the best for the snow. Never worry about feet being too cold or getting wet. These are the first boots my wife has owned that she comments keep her feet warm in the snow. December 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great boot for the snow and cold I bought these boots for walking my dogs around the park on cold snowy days and they have not disappointed me. I wore them while walking my dogs through foot deep snow in sub-zero temperatures and my feet stayed warm and dry. December 6, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by There Really Warm So I'm a Californian who didn't grow up in the cold, obviously. I travel all over the west coast as part of my job and occasionally I end up somewhere bone chilling cold and snowy. I purchased the Caribou's cause I needed a boot that could handle those occasions. So far so good. They fit a little big but I tried on a size smaller then the 9's I bought and they fit tight, so be aware of that when you buy off the internet. December 5, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by amazing, but huge bought a pair last winter and they are fantabulouse... HOWEVER: Once they broke in (few light hikes, chores etc) they became absolutely without a doubt WAY WAY to big and loose. I wear a size 10 in EVERY other shoe brand, had to buy size 8 in the Caribou (Euro sz 41, which is what i wear) and they still became floppy-big after a few winter jaunts. Great product just beware of fit issues.... December 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tried and True Replacing a pair I have had forever. Great design. You don't want to hike or snowshoe in these but a great boot for almost any function in the snow and cold that does not require travel long distance. Winter Camping, Snow Removal, Apres Ski etc. If you wear a half size go up. December 1, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by 21 Years and Still Going I bought my Caribous in 1990 (seems so long ago), and they are still in great shape. The winter I bought them I worked on a lumber mill and tree farm through the winter in New Hampshire. These boots never failed me. I did that for two years while I attended college at night. Once swapping to day classes the boots were used walking between buildings on campus and winter sports. I still wear them for small winter treks, snow shoeing, shoveling and farm chores. The reason I came onto the site was to see if I could get boot liners, which I can so I will see how many more years I can go with them! Anyway, these boots are a great investment and I will buy another pair when/if I wear these out! November 30, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally Got New Caribous! Customer Service Was superb. The product is fantastic. just like my old friends, purchased in 1984. New color and as wonderful as the old guys. I'm keeping the old guys for really nasty days in the mud and slush. the fit is great and I am a happy customer. THANKS! November 28, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Need more snow! Throughout my childhood I always owned a pair of Sorels until I loaned them to my brother and never got them back. Perhaps my memory is a little "iffy" on this, but I believe these are better constructed than the Sorels I had in the 70's and 80's. They are just as comfortable, just as warm as I recall, but they feel more durable to me. I'm in Denver and have been too busy to find myself in the mountains to really get more use out of them. The snow we had right after I received them was a good barometer of how warm they are. I am sure I'll have these for years to come. November 18, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots These boots are great. They fit better then the L.L. Bean boots. November 11, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by great boot got my boots fast---fit great---- October 25, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by A family tradition Coming from northern Michigan, Sorels have been a family tradition for 3 generations. It's nice to have new ones after 20 years :) June 17, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by northern Norway midsummer 4 degree celsius 300 miles north of the arctic circle, arctic storm over night 30cm snow - 5...not without my Caribou! June 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Snow Wheelin My buddy and I were planning on taking our off-road trucks to play in the snow. he recommended I get some Sorel's. I had talked with one of your customer service representatives and he was very helpful. I ordered the Carabou's in black. They arrived in time for my trip and fit excellent. They are number wise, a smaller size due to my friend telling me they run big, so I took the chance in ordering a smaller size. I was able to drive my 87 Toyota 4runner with ease and the 12 hours we were in and out of the hip deep show, my feet never got wet or cold. I love your boots, and will never have to have cold, wet feet again. Thank you for a great product, at a very reasonable price , awesome promt shipping and excellent customer service.. I will definitly buy a pair for my wife and recommend them to anyone who is looking for boots.. May 17, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by best boots i ve ever owned i bought my first pair in 1988 in ontario canada while working there on a tire fire , i have put this same pair of boots to the test every winter since and nothing i have ever took them through can seem to wear them down < still comfortable and warm , have a little dry rott going on after 23 years but who cares its time to pay my respects to sorel and buy a new pair anyway , anyone who makes a product that holds up this well and over two decades deserves there props and some well deserved repeat buiness April 26, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by sorel boots I bought these for my boyfriend and he loves them, they are very comfortable and warm, here in Michigan when we walk are dogs. April 14, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by So Comfortable !!! I bought these for a recent trip to Aspen. There is no better feeling to take your heavy ski boots off after a long day of skiing and put on these Sorel boots. Super comfortable and really well made. April 6, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot Warm, very comfy and fit great. A good looking boot that is as comfortable as a pair of slippers. Love em. February 24, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Service My order just arrived and the boots are a perfect fit. Other reviews attest to their worth so I'll provide some detail about the purchase and delivery experience. I chose the fastest, $19 shipping option and suspect it was worth the additional $13: My order was confirmed Wednesday evening. I received shipment confirmation Thursday, my bank account was charged Friday and UPS delivered the package Saturday afternoon. February 5, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is the only boot you need I've had my Sorel Caribous for over 25 years. I tell anyone who will listen if they are in the market for a quality "snow" boot, buy a pair of Sorel Caribous. They hold up remarkably well and will probably be the last snow boot you'll ever buy. From Norway to the German and Swiss Alps, the Rockies, Sierras and flat land sludge my caribous have held up and kept my toes warm in all conditions. Do your feet a favor and get a pair. February 3, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 Best winter boots hands down (or feet) I purchased my Caribou's back in 1981, I just took them off my feet... again, after having spent hours in the cold. When I bought these, the salesperson told me they were "the rage" in Aspen, well, I don't really care about Aspen, I live in Buffalo New York, where it's essential to have warm winter boots. I believe I've replaced the laces once or twice, but other than that they have been unbelievably durable. They are warm, dry and durable beyond anything I believe I've ever owned. I've no doubt it's the best money I have ever spent. You won't want to run a marathon in these, but for comfort and durability in the winter, you can beat them. February 3, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lost in flood The only reason I am replacing my boots is because they were lost in a flood that took everything from my house. I bought my boots back in 1995 and would not be replacing them if it weren't for the flood. Now that I'm a little bit older and re married I will be getting boots for all 5 kids and my wife and I. I guess there is no place in Oklahoma any more to get sorrels? The only bad thing about that is I would like to have everyone try them on for size first. SOREL is there any place in Oklahoma that sells your wonderful boots? By the way it's -28 this morning. February 3, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Customer Care This is the 3rd season wearing my boots. Noticed small tear in the rubber on side of right boot. Also, noticed that the sole and the boot was starting to seperated alittle bit at the bend of the foot. Went onto the Sorel website to see if there was any suggestions to repairing the boot. Perhaps some glue or apoxy. They asked for pictures, I sent pictures, and next thing you know, Sorel sent me a pair of brand new Caribous. Nice!.. Thats the way to keep loyal Customers. Hopefully this second pair will last 20-30 years as others have experienced. February 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Replacing my Caribous bought in 1975 I have to tell you that I have owned a pair of Carabous since 1976 bought in St. Paul. They still look like new and have served me well winter after winter. The only reason that I am replacing them with a new pair is because I feel guilty in how long these originals have lasted. I worry that any company making such a fine product will not be able to stay in business if replacements are only bought every 34 years or so. February 2, 2011
