How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Good quality, warm, fit off a bit I'll keep it brief. Looks good, quality is good from first glance, but fit is left up to interpretation. I measured 28.5 cm in socks, which correlates to a 10.5 US on their size chart. I could move my foot an inch back in forth inside the boot. I returned them for a size 10 and have a little less than 1/2 inch for thick socks. Hope this helps! September 23, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Boot runs very, very large I'm a true 10.5. Every shoe, sneaker, sandal, snowboarding boot, etc. I own is a 10.5. After ordering 3 different sizes I wound up with a 9.5 size, and they still feel big.... I do like the style and warmth, but I'm not hiking thru frozen tundra for days. I'm just shoveling the driveway we it snows and going sleigh riding with the kids, so they are perfect for me. August 24, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Way too big I ordered these boots in my size. They came in way too big. Ordered the next size smaller. They came in too big. Had to return a second time. Had to pay for overnight shipping to have them to me before my trip. After complaining to Sorel the did refund some of my shipping cost. Boots did seem to work well once I got the right size. Allow amply time to make sur the boots fit. March 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing boots This boots are very warm, comfortable, great for snow and good for ice conditions. I bought them through this website and they fit perfect. The only downside for me is the structure is quite big and heavy so they are not easy to store at home or travel with them, specially in my case because I live in Mexico. But I really recommend them. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots These boots are extremely comfortable, I didn't truly get to test these to their fullest capability. I was at Sundance and wore them in 28 degree conditions not tons of deep snow. They were very warm and were stable on ice. They run big, I wear size 10 in boots, ordered a 9 1/2 and had to return them for a 9, even with thick socks, and I have a wide foot. Use the size chart and follow Sorel's instructions they're right on. February 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sorel Caribou Boot These boots are so comfortable and well made. They kept my feet amazingly warm and dry in the cold winter snow. February 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Caribou Wool Very warm & dry boot that lace very easily. I could step in a puddle or snow as high as mid-shin and my feet will be dry & warm. Only need 1 pair of socks when wearing this boot. February 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Winter Boot I love this Winter Boot! They do run large. Usually, I'm a size 15M and I was swimming in the boots. Once I got the 14M I have been climbing the mounds of snow in Boston. The boots are comfortable, keep snow out, and keep my feet warm. Great purchase! February 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Winter Boots Ever These are the boots I remember from years ago still made to the same quality and comfort. I love the wool liner which does seem to keep my feet just that much warmer. As comfortable as a slipper but made for the deep heavy snow of the Northeast US. They do run a little big, I am typically a size 8 in a dress shoe, but found the size 7 boot to be a perfect fit. Highly recommend! February 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent These boots are the best. I have had a pair for over twenty years, and I am here to purchase another. The price is steep, but it is money well spent. For extreme cold weather one can not do better, :). The only drawback, they do not do well in water well above where the leather and the rubber shell meet, but for extreme cold and snow only they are the best. February 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very satisfied. These boots are excellent, very warm, comfortable and waterproof. I regularly wear a size 12 shoe, i ordered these boots in 11.5 and they have just a little extra room if i wanted to wear thick socks. They seem very well made and will hopefully last me many years. Rated 5 out of 5 by It's a classic! Bought these for my husband who needed a warm, dry and stylish winter boot. He loved them so much he wore them inside the house, then we had a blizzard and they were tested for comfort, warmth & dryness, yup they rocked it! He's between a 10.5 & 11 went with the 10.5, fit perfectly. Woot! January 29, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Warmest boots I've ever owned! This is a great set of boots. These are replacing a 30 year pair of Sorels that have served me well. The pair I had were 9, so that is what I ordered. The old pair were big enough to easily wear 2 pair of wool socks with them. I assumed it would be the same with these, especially after reading several reviews. I normally wear size 8 1/2 shoes. There is no way I can wear 2 pair of heavy wool socks with these. They are much smaller. On a positive note, I don't think I'll need to wear 2 pair of heavy socks. These are very warm and comfortable boots. The reason for 4 Stars is the sizing. I was expecting them to be a little bigger. January 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfort, looks & purpose the boot fits great. nice room for the toes. does not feel to close or loose on the foot. feet were warm and comfortable in the snow.. I wear them on GP around the house doing out door activities. that's the comfort level. January 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Could not have asked for a better boot With the weather in the Northeast throwing challenges at all of us, these boots allow my sons feet to stay warm and dry in the coldest or snowiest of weather. He was extremely happy with this purchase. January 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A True Company w A Quality Product Living in Colorado now for over 20 years, I hike, camp, back country backpacking and I also work outdoors year round some 75 % of the time. I just bought my second pair of Sorel Caribou styles today. Same exact pair I bought 11 years ago. They must have had 5000 miles on them by now, worn and tattered but they never let me down. Got a great deal on the new ones, the old ones are now stored in my Jeeps Emergency Box as a backup. Im a lover of these boots, great fit, I too usually go a half size up to allow for a thicker sock in Winter. Thank you for a great reliable well made product. January 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This boot is incredibly comfortable and roomy. I just purchased this boot in NYC at Paragon outdoor store on 18th and Broadway. Upon trying on this boot, (my size is 11) I realized how roomy 11 was. I have a half inch of room at the toe, which is terrific! I love how the boot is mad. It's very wide in all areas, which is excellent for me, because I have type 2 diabetes and you know us folks must be very careful not to buy tight or ill fitting shoes or boots. I love these boots. I can't wait for the freezing cold and snow. I'm well prepared with my sorel caribou boots. January 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outdoorzy and diabetic I am a hunter, trapper and fisherman when I am not working. I do most of these things all year around. I am also a diabetic, so circulation to my feet is an issue especially in winter. So far, this is my first winter experience for these boots, but I am impressed. My feet do still get cold whenever I sit motionless for several hours, hunting, but it is manageable (if that makes sense - if you are a diabetic, you will understand) The wool inserts act like any other wool product - wool keeps you warm, even when damp / wet from sweating. I bought 1 size larger than my foot as I usually do, to make room for a pair of winter socks. These boots were true to size for me in that regard. December 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Boot, so warm! This boot is amazing. The liner is great because it's designed in a way that it doesn't take your sock off with the boot when you remove your boots. Also, plenty wide to wear thick socks in. Only thing I will say is, I got the Olive Brown Dark Ginger color and the upper leather part looks brown in the picture but it is definitely more like a dark moss green or army green. December 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by small i wear a 12 or 13 and i ordered a 14 but really tight. i had to wear with out a sock. maybe they will stretch. i would get 2 sizes bigger than you need. maybe bigger sizes dont fit well. seem warm though October 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hefty Boot Bought these for my boyfriend, as an early x-mas gift. He normally wears a 10 in boots (Timb's to be specific); so I ordered him a ten, but it was way too big. I ordered him a half size down, and they now fit perfectly. He is very happy with them, and says that they are very sturdy, warm, cozy and pretty hefty. October 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Snow Boot! I bought these boots for light to moderate hiking in the snow. Now, after a half dozen such hikes I cannot imagine a finer boot for that purpose! Very good traction and unbelievable comfort combine for a wonderfully pleasant walk in light or deeper snow. Some say these boots run a little large - and they do - but I found that the extra room added to foot comfort and warmth. And the soles have such a nice flexibility that I felt like I was walking on clouds. I highly recommend Sorels Caribou Snow Boots. February 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by sorrell with wool liner amazing Truly an amazing winter boot. Been hiking in the mountains in real blizzard conditions this past week. These babies are incredibly warm and comfortable. Easy on and off and sturdy enough for the mountain terrain. I love these sorrels. JM Nederland Colorado February 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots Great grip when walking. Very warm and comfortable. I would say for the fit don't go big since these are already big boots. I would get your size or maybe 1/2 size larger to account for thick socks. Great boot. February 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great deal on a great pair of boots I purchased these boots through the friends & family discount site. So for $82 I got one of the best pair of boots that Sorel makes. I used them for three days in northern lower Michigan snowmobiling in 2 to 4 ft. of snow and 10 - 20 degree temps with no issues while only wearing a pair of Carhart socks and some Wilson crop socks over those. Feet were toasty and not sweaty. The boots for me were oversized somewhat, I wear an 11 or 11 1/2 normaly and ordered and 11 and a 12 returning the 12, and they are heavier than the other shorter Caribou that my friend ordered, but I would rather have the height than less weight. Great deal and great boot. February 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product but sizing is an issue This was my first purchase of a Sorel product. I am impressed with the craftsmanship and overall quality but the size run really large. I am normally a US 10.5 in sneakers and US 11 in dress shoes. I bought the Caribou Wool in size 11 and it is enormous! February 4, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by caribou pac boots returned have a really old pair, made in Canada, great quality. Second pair, Chinese mfg, didn't last as long. Just got new pair, design of boot liner has been changed for the worse, took me 30 minutes to get them on, and sized a little smaller than prevous pairs. back they went. February 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Men's Caribou Wool Boot Customer Service was A+. I had to return my boots and exchange them due to the size. Sorel sent out a new pair that arrived in only a couple days with no issues at all. Thanks! January 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boot Great boot. With the felted wool liners very comfortable in very cold weather. Only negative is on the front part of the boot liner. The material holding it together does not have enough give to get into and out of boot. I removed the stiching and the piece and now they are easy to get on and off. May add a piece of Velcro to closed at the top. January 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Men's Caribou Boots Great experience with Sorel Company. Online experience easy and delivered on time. The best boot made. They have come in handy with Chicago's bad winter. I'm glad I purchased the wool liner instead of the felt liner. My feet don't feel the cold. Thank you Sorel ! January 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by good warm boots, use a wool insole for a better fit The boots are fine. The customer service is poor. The company would not honor a sale price for the same boots from another retailer. January 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by These boots ROCK! Love em... great quality. Heavy duty and look cool. I expect to keep these for many many years. January 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mens Caribou These are Sorels "bread and butter" boot and have been so for years. I had these boots when I was a kid and wore them until they literally would not go on my feet (out grew them) and then gave them to a family friend for one of their kids. I purchased a new pair to add to my winter boot options and realize what I've been missing. The boots are true to fit. I like the upper construction around the tongue/lace area as they have a continious leather portion that protects from water/snow to get into the boot. the only way to get wet in these boots is to go over the top. The replaceable liner is very handy, as the boot itself should last years and years, and you can replace the liner as needed. January 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Best snow boot I've ever owned POSITIVES - This boot is exceptional at keeping your feet dry and warm. - Comfortable to walk and hike in. NEGATIVES - The boot runs about a size too big, not 1/2 a size. - The lining for this boot also is sometimes a nuisance and pulls out when taking your foot out. It would be great if there were some Velcro type sections to keep in place. January 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots!! My husband loves his new Sorel Caribou boots. He has problems with his feet but he says the new boots are comfortable and sturdy. Also, they have excellent treads so he doesn't worry about falling. Thanks for a fine product. January 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by terrific well made. great quality. warm. look good. great purchase January 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Thumbs up My new Sorel Caribou boots are exactly what I hoped they'd be; warm, durable and great looking too. These boots can take whatever Winter can dish out! January 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My 1st Pair lasted 27 years I haven't worn my new pair of Sorels outside yet, However they feel great and I'm optimistic they will be durable, since my first pair lasted 27 years. I'm so confident of their durability , I spent a little extra on the wool liners this time. December 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by IF ONLY ONE BOOT, BUT THE CARIBOU What's good: - Leather is of good quality - Boot keeps feet warm - Shoe strings are sturdy What's okay, but could be better: - The texture of the rubber above the sole, though quality, collects dirt and stains What's bad: - The boot has poor traction on ice December 31, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Left/right boot not same size These boots are extremely well made, and they have a nice appearance. My husband has a similar pair and loves his. However, mine do not fit correctly. I have never had this problem with any other shoe or boot, but while the left boot fits correctly, the right boot is too narrow and a bit shorter than the left, so it fits too tightly. The difference is so noticeable that I wear 2 pairs of socks on my left foot while wearing one very thin sock on the right boot, and it is still too tight. It's as though the right boot is a different size, although it shows to be the same size. The result is that I hardly wear the boots, because I can't wear the right boot for any length of time. I feel I wasted my money. December 31, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boot Great quality & craftmanship. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I have a lot of pressure and rubbing on my left leg where the leather and rubber meet. The boot seems to curve in on the left side. I'm hoping the issue resolves after break-in. Other than that, I really like the boots. They seem very well made. Boots run true to size, at least for men. I bought my wife the Joan of Arctics. She wears a 6 in every other shoe. I measured her foot and using Sorels size chart, bought her an 8, and it fits perfectly. Go figure. I would highly recommend these boots. December 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Men's Sorel Boots I purchased these boots for my eldest son for Christmas. I took a chance ordering them online because he has a hard to fit foot that has a high instep. He was more than pleased. He wanted a nice comfortable pair of boots so he could spend time playing outside in our Minnesota winter with his triplet sons. His comment was "These are just great!" Thank-you for your fine product. December 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Caribou boot review Look good and are comfortable. I have not had a chance to wear them out in the cold for a long period of time but will say so far they are very warm. The only issue I have right now is that they are tough to get on. I am hoping that is just because they are new and that once they break-in they will be fine. Overall I am happy and would recommend them. December 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Initial Impression - Comfortable! I wear a 9.5 shoe size (American). After trying on the 10 and the 11, I settled on the 10.5 Caribou Wool boot. This fits beautifully - comfortable in the toe yet not bulky; a nice overall fit. With enough comfort overall to accommodate a pair of medium-weight Carhartt boot socks. Based on my experience, this boot will run one size larger for you than your dress shoe size. (Standard mileage will vary.) December 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots Replaced my 25 year old Sorels with these. Warm and good grip in the snow. Fit was right on the mark using the website measurement technique (actually, just measuring the millimeters without bothering printing the "footprint"). December 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots Took a little getting used to having the removable liner. Now that I'm used to it wish I'd had it sooner. Great feature. Great boot - really warm and dry. Best winter camping boot I've had in a while December 15, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by 1 year of use I bought these boots for price shown at about mid way through last snow season. I was really excited to get them because of the quality i thought they had. Well it's the start of a second season of snow and the where it bends when walking has broken down and now my boots LEAK! I am really disappointed in the quality of this boot especially for the price i paid. I have kids and i play in the snow with them. I was not rough on them out of the ordinary and stored them in a plastic tub through summer. This is unbelievable that i can pay this much and have them break down with normal use after less that a year of wear. I would not recommend this product. i switch from another brand that has long been my go to snow products and now am paying the price. Needless to say i will have to buy another pair of boots in less than a year of purchasing these boots. December 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME BOOTS I looked everywhere in stores for this certain style but had no luck. Was skeptical ordering it online because I am always disappointed with my online purchases, BUT I love these boots. I am patiently waiting for winter to arrive here in Minnesota so I can test them out! November 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jura Mountains, France The coldest place in France. Record low is -39°c (about -39 F too). Great boots in the coldest part of France. I used mine for the last three winter skiing holidays. Put these boots on before and after skiing. They are great. Keep your feet dry and warm. April 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I only wish I lived in the snow to wear these boots more! I love these snow boots! they are so comfy after a long day of snowboarding. April 11, 2013
