How to Measure Your Foot

  • Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks
  • Measure the length (cm) straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Use the chart to find your size.

Reviews

Men's Caribou® Wool Boot is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 112.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful quality! I bought these shoes, because my feet are very cold. Hoped for the Canadian roots of the brand. But for the second winter the rubber part of the shoes cracked! And they no longer hold the heat and worse, they began to leak! I did not expect this from Sorel! Waste of money! It is natural that as with a guarantee it is not clear! Extremely do not recommend these shoes, if you do not want to freeze your legs! I hope my review will help you make the right choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou Wool Boot Omg!! I love these boots. I have never invested in really good boots before and these are awesome! I live in South Dakota and it has been down to 38 below. While shoveling the snow my feet never got cold and I didn't slip and slide. So happy that I bought these boots!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the Boot, Way Too Big I bought these boots as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. Before I complain, these shipped fast and were delivered on the exact day promised which was great. I read the reviews for this boot which informed me that I should stick to his true size in all other shoes, which I did. Unfortunately, the size 14 ordered for him was too large to the point of comical- he needs about two sizes smaller then his normal shoe. I wish i was aware of this before purchasing. This may be due to the very large size requested but buyer beware. I will be returning for a smaller size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs Large - No Better Snow Boot Out There The other reviews will tell you about how well the boot will actually function. My guess is that most are interested in fit. I'm a solid 13 on my left foot but barely a 12.5 on my right. I purchased the 12 as a happy middle ground and the fit is great. I can wear them with a thin dress sock (say, to clear the snow off the car) and the boots won't pull off, even if not laced. For longer outside activities, a mid-weight hiking sock moderates the fit based on my different foot sizes well. Super warm; very well made.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love the boots, but..... Boots were exactly as pictured, and my husband loved them! Unfortunately the were a whole size too big. He's a size 11 in all shoes including boots. I would suggest trying them on before purchase. (As they are very expensive to ship back for an exchange.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great warm boots! I have these to my husband as a Christmas gift and he wore them outside while snow blowing our yard in a snow storm yesterday and he came in and said his boots rocked! He was comfortable and his feet stayed warm and dry for the couple of hours he was out there. 5)36 looked cute on him too :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boots, but not the laces. Boots arrived recently, fit is firmish but perfect when laced up. They are true to size, very light and comfortable. I expect that they will wear into an even better fit. Regrettably I consider that the laces are extremely low quality (rubbish) and I have thrown them away and used high quality ones in their place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made with love and true to size. You can tell right away these boots are made with a whole lotta love. The quality is spot on. My only regret is not keeping them. For what these boots are designed for, my needs were much simpler. I was looking for a boot I could use when sledding, playing outside with the kids, shoveling. These boots need to be in the artic! (Or somewhere other than a suburb outside Chicago). Nonetheless, an excellent, excellent boot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome! Bought a pair just in time for a winter storm and they were perfect! Feet warm and dry. I felt so confident without any doubt. So much my husband wore them a couple of times...so much I bought him a pair. We both receive compliments on the style.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice boots, but very heavy Love the look, and the leather seems pretty top notch. I normally wear a 9.5 but ordered a 9 and that seemed to fit just fine. However the boot is pretty heavy. I will be using them for normal city wear and will most likely not be outdoors in the snow for hours on end. I am opting for one of the lighter models and will be returning these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mens Caribou I received the 11.5 size I ordered, thinking it I would need an additional .5 inch to allow for heavy socks. After receiving the boots and trying them on with heavy socks, I found the 11.5 too large. I would recommend when ordering, that you order the exact size as the boots seem to run big enough to accommodate the heavy socks. Maybe the 1964 series run somewhat small and the .5 increase will be necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Awesome boot but the sizing is way off. Third times a charm. Usually size 11 ended up with 9.5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou woohoo! Highest level craftsmanship! Fits large. I normally wear a 10, bought the 9.5 after having bought a pair of 9.5 Sorel mad desert II leather casual boots (that I love!) last year and probably should have bought a size 9 in these caribou. I think over time, they will wear in and fit well, bit a little big at the start with thick wool socks. The lace eyelets make these super easy on and off compared to the 1964 or cvs. Super warm, super stylish. Looking forward to using these for the next 25+ years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Run a size up Im a size 11 but i got a 10 because these shoes run large and are wide. I highly recommend going down at least .5 size if not a whole size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them! Did my first feeldtest yesterday and im very happy. Snow and -17c in the forrest outside Stockholm, Sweden. I would like to find a flat (and a molded) sole that fits (in 100% wool), though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from definitely a keeper Kept my boyfriend's feet warm for New Year's in Quebec. Waterproof. They do run large though, so size down accordingly. He is a true 10M and got a size 9. The toes fit right, but he said it was snug in the sides of his feet, but we were told that since it is highly padded, to wear them around the house and the boot would mold to his feet. Lo and behold, they did and 9 fits just right now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase! I bought this for my fiance because he's from Arizona. He loved them because we were spending the Holidays in frigid Minnesota. Although our December here was a bit mild this year, he claims his feet were never cold! After two weeks of regular wear these boots are wonderful. He looks forward to seeing how they hold up to the future years in Minnesota winters!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Class Company and Product I ordered the Caribou boots the day before Black Friday at a discount when Sorel was running a sale but with a shipping charge. Several days later Sorel advised me their computer had misfired and the shipping charges were to be free so they were crediting my account reimbursing me for those charges. That action told me Sorel is a first class company. Now for the product Sorel sent me: those boots, too, are first class just like the company that made them. I cannot say enough about the quality and performance of these boots. I took the advice of another on-line reviewer and ordered a size 1/2 smaller than I normally wear and they are perfect. Just a great purchase that I will enjoy for many years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Order 1 size smaller Best boots I've ever worn in severe winter months, most comfortable and warm. Make sure to buy 1 size smaller then you normally do. They run large!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality, warm, fit off a bit I'll keep it brief. Looks good, quality is good from first glance, but fit is left up to interpretation. I measured 28.5 cm in socks, which correlates to a 10.5 US on their size chart. I could move my foot an inch back in forth inside the boot. I returned them for a size 10 and have a little less than 1/2 inch for thick socks. Hope this helps!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boot runs very, very large I'm a true 10.5. Every shoe, sneaker, sandal, snowboarding boot, etc. I own is a 10.5. After ordering 3 different sizes I wound up with a 9.5 size, and they still feel big.... I do like the style and warmth, but I'm not hiking thru frozen tundra for days. I'm just shoveling the driveway we it snows and going sleigh riding with the kids, so they are perfect for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Way too big I ordered these boots in my size. They came in way too big. Ordered the next size smaller. They came in too big. Had to return a second time. Had to pay for overnight shipping to have them to me before my trip. After complaining to Sorel the did refund some of my shipping cost. Boots did seem to work well once I got the right size. Allow amply time to make sur the boots fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing boots This boots are very warm, comfortable, great for snow and good for ice conditions. I bought them through this website and they fit perfect. The only downside for me is the structure is quite big and heavy so they are not easy to store at home or travel with them, specially in my case because I live in Mexico. But I really recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots These boots are extremely comfortable, I didn't truly get to test these to their fullest capability. I was at Sundance and wore them in 28 degree conditions not tons of deep snow. They were very warm and were stable on ice. They run big, I wear size 10 in boots, ordered a 9 1/2 and had to return them for a 9, even with thick socks, and I have a wide foot. Use the size chart and follow Sorel's instructions they're right on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caribou Wool Very warm & dry boot that lace very easily. I could step in a puddle or snow as high as mid-shin and my feet will be dry & warm. Only need 1 pair of socks when wearing this boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Winter Boot I love this Winter Boot! They do run large. Usually, I'm a size 15M and I was swimming in the boots. Once I got the 14M I have been climbing the mounds of snow in Boston. The boots are comfortable, keep snow out, and keep my feet warm. Great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Winter Boots Ever These are the boots I remember from years ago still made to the same quality and comfort. I love the wool liner which does seem to keep my feet just that much warmer. As comfortable as a slipper but made for the deep heavy snow of the Northeast US. They do run a little big, I am typically a size 8 in a dress shoe, but found the size 7 boot to be a perfect fit. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent These boots are the best. I have had a pair for over twenty years, and I am here to purchase another. The price is steep, but it is money well spent. For extreme cold weather one can not do better, :). The only drawback, they do not do well in water well above where the leather and the rubber shell meet, but for extreme cold and snow only they are the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very satisfied. These boots are excellent, very warm, comfortable and waterproof. I regularly wear a size 12 shoe, i ordered these boots in 11.5 and they have just a little extra room if i wanted to wear thick socks. They seem very well made and will hopefully last me many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a classic! Bought these for my husband who needed a warm, dry and stylish winter boot. He loved them so much he wore them inside the house, then we had a blizzard and they were tested for comfort, warmth & dryness, yup they rocked it! He's between a 10.5 & 11 went with the 10.5, fit perfectly. Woot!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warmest boots I've ever owned! This is a great set of boots. These are replacing a 30 year pair of Sorels that have served me well. The pair I had were 9, so that is what I ordered. The old pair were big enough to easily wear 2 pair of wool socks with them. I assumed it would be the same with these, especially after reading several reviews. I normally wear size 8 1/2 shoes. There is no way I can wear 2 pair of heavy wool socks with these. They are much smaller. On a positive note, I don't think I'll need to wear 2 pair of heavy socks. These are very warm and comfortable boots. The reason for 4 Stars is the sizing. I was expecting them to be a little bigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort, looks & purpose the boot fits great. nice room for the toes. does not feel to close or loose on the foot. feet were warm and comfortable in the snow.. I wear them on GP around the house doing out door activities. that's the comfort level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could not have asked for a better boot With the weather in the Northeast throwing challenges at all of us, these boots allow my sons feet to stay warm and dry in the coldest or snowiest of weather. He was extremely happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A True Company w A Quality Product Living in Colorado now for over 20 years, I hike, camp, back country backpacking and I also work outdoors year round some 75 % of the time. I just bought my second pair of Sorel Caribou styles today. Same exact pair I bought 11 years ago. They must have had 5000 miles on them by now, worn and tattered but they never let me down. Got a great deal on the new ones, the old ones are now stored in my Jeeps Emergency Box as a backup. Im a lover of these boots, great fit, I too usually go a half size up to allow for a thicker sock in Winter. Thank you for a great reliable well made product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This boot is incredibly comfortable and roomy. I just purchased this boot in NYC at Paragon outdoor store on 18th and Broadway. Upon trying on this boot, (my size is 11) I realized how roomy 11 was. I have a half inch of room at the toe, which is terrific! I love how the boot is mad. It's very wide in all areas, which is excellent for me, because I have type 2 diabetes and you know us folks must be very careful not to buy tight or ill fitting shoes or boots. I love these boots. I can't wait for the freezing cold and snow. I'm well prepared with my sorel caribou boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outdoorzy and diabetic I am a hunter, trapper and fisherman when I am not working. I do most of these things all year around. I am also a diabetic, so circulation to my feet is an issue especially in winter. So far, this is my first winter experience for these boots, but I am impressed. My feet do still get cold whenever I sit motionless for several hours, hunting, but it is manageable (if that makes sense - if you are a diabetic, you will understand) The wool inserts act like any other wool product - wool keeps you warm, even when damp / wet from sweating. I bought 1 size larger than my foot as I usually do, to make room for a pair of winter socks. These boots were true to size for me in that regard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Boot, so warm! This boot is amazing. The liner is great because it's designed in a way that it doesn't take your sock off with the boot when you remove your boots. Also, plenty wide to wear thick socks in. Only thing I will say is, I got the Olive Brown Dark Ginger color and the upper leather part looks brown in the picture but it is definitely more like a dark moss green or army green.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from small i wear a 12 or 13 and i ordered a 14 but really tight. i had to wear with out a sock. maybe they will stretch. i would get 2 sizes bigger than you need. maybe bigger sizes dont fit well. seem warm though

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hefty Boot Bought these for my boyfriend, as an early x-mas gift. He normally wears a 10 in boots (Timb's to be specific); so I ordered him a ten, but it was way too big. I ordered him a half size down, and they now fit perfectly. He is very happy with them, and says that they are very sturdy, warm, cozy and pretty hefty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Snow Boot! I bought these boots for light to moderate hiking in the snow. Now, after a half dozen such hikes I cannot imagine a finer boot for that purpose! Very good traction and unbelievable comfort combine for a wonderfully pleasant walk in light or deeper snow. Some say these boots run a little large - and they do - but I found that the extra room added to foot comfort and warmth. And the soles have such a nice flexibility that I felt like I was walking on clouds. I highly recommend Sorels Caribou Snow Boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sorrell with wool liner amazing Truly an amazing winter boot. Been hiking in the mountains in real blizzard conditions this past week. These babies are incredibly warm and comfortable. Easy on and off and sturdy enough for the mountain terrain. I love these sorrels. JM Nederland Colorado

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots Great grip when walking. Very warm and comfortable. I would say for the fit don't go big since these are already big boots. I would get your size or maybe 1/2 size larger to account for thick socks. Great boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal on a great pair of boots I purchased these boots through the friends & family discount site. So for $82 I got one of the best pair of boots that Sorel makes. I used them for three days in northern lower Michigan snowmobiling in 2 to 4 ft. of snow and 10 - 20 degree temps with no issues while only wearing a pair of Carhart socks and some Wilson crop socks over those. Feet were toasty and not sweaty. The boots for me were oversized somewhat, I wear an 11 or 11 1/2 normaly and ordered and 11 and a 12 returning the 12, and they are heavier than the other shorter Caribou that my friend ordered, but I would rather have the height than less weight. Great deal and great boot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but sizing is an issue This was my first purchase of a Sorel product. I am impressed with the craftsmanship and overall quality but the size run really large. I am normally a US 10.5 in sneakers and US 11 in dress shoes. I bought the Caribou Wool in size 11 and it is enormous!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from caribou pac boots returned have a really old pair, made in Canada, great quality. Second pair, Chinese mfg, didn't last as long. Just got new pair, design of boot liner has been changed for the worse, took me 30 minutes to get them on, and sized a little smaller than prevous pairs. back they went.
