Women's Caribou® Boot

Women's Caribou® Boot 4.3 5 218 218
Great product This boot is perfect for the cold weather. The height is perfect and the fact that it is completely closed makes snow play time and work time much more fun. Also the liner on the inside was not as warm as I expected. Not to mention that these boots are fashionable; they go with jeans, leggings, snow pants. If you wanted to you can even tuck your jeans into the boot and it becomes a great snow bunny look. Lastly, these boots are impossible to slipp in. Walking on ice is like driving with chains/4 wheel drive.Overall this are great boots and I would recommend them to any customer. December 18, 2011
Gorgeous Boots! I bought these boots as a Christmas present to myself and I am so happy I did! I ordered the black pair and received them yesterday - they are gorgeous and well made!! (They remind my of $300 ski boots!) After reading the reviews I decided to to get a size 6 instead of my usual size 7. When I first tried them on they were a bit snug. But after walking around in them they got roomier and are now very comfortable. I also tried them on without the inside sock/lining and the boot was super big! I personally had trouble pulling out the liner - but if you tug from the fluffy top you will see where the liner seperates from the actual boot and you can pull out. The boots are on the heavy side so I don't forsee myself walking all day in them. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and looking forward to NYC's first blizzard! December 25, 2010
so happy I absolutely love these boots. They have saved me this winter in freezing Chicago! They are super comfy & warm. They are a little heavy but being such a solid boot, I can handle a few pounds per leg!! I love my grey & black caribou choice! Def recommend!! March 6, 2014
To big around ankels I wasn't expecting something to make my foot look danty and or small but these were very big around my ankels. I felt as if I could not get them tight enough to feel comfortable. Sending the product back and I already spent a small fortune on the boots and now I have to pay to return them. March 5, 2014
Blister boots not good for walking I wanted a classic rain boot that would keep my socks and jeans dry during wet and cold weather. These do the trick, but the first or second time I wore them I was walking in the city and got blisters on the back of my ankles. These boots are very heavy and are not ideal for lots of walking. They fit very snug (I tucked my blue jeans into my socks); however, I could feel the boots coming off my heels while walking. After reading the reviews I ordered my normal shoe size of 6 1/2 and I think these boots are too big. I won't be buying another pair until trying them on in store. February 22, 2014
over-constructed too heavy Unless you're a construction worker, these boots are way too heavy. They weighed in at over 6 lbs. when i went to ship them back! February 20, 2014
Excellent Winter Boot - Great Value! After several mild winters and owning no cold weather foot wear, this year's brutal snow and cold had me in search for the perfect winter boots. I read multiple reviews across several brands and decided on the Sorel Caribou Boot in black. I am so pleased with this purchase and they arrived just in time for our next big snow. These boots are about true to size, with just an everyday sock - anything thicker, and I would recommend going up at least 1/2 size. The boots are lined and so warm, even after being outdoors for several hours. They're comfortable and provide good traction. I've been shoveling, sledding, on a neighborhood walk (or trudge) all in these boots and have no complaints. My only struggle is when it's time to take them off... I typically end up pulling the liners out. Still, easy enough to pop back in, so not a deal breaker. Based on the quality of this product, I would recommend these again and again. Worth every penny as I expect they will last for many years to come. They're practical, comfortable and look good. February 17, 2014
Warm comfy boots! This boots are very comfortable ,very warm excellent for this cold and snowy winter. This boots run big I wear size 7,but with Sorel boots I ordered size 6 and fit perfectly so I would recommended go 1 size smaller then your actual size.Love them February 14, 2014
The Caribou Boot I cannot express in words how much I love these boots. Not only are they stylish, but comfortable, warm, sturdy, 100% waterproof/sno proof and easily wiped clean. The Caribou is the perfect height; not too short and not too tall. The grips on the bottom make navigating the snowy conditions seamless! They do run very large so I would suggest ordering a size or a half size down from your normal shoe size (dependent on how thick your socks are). I find myself picking outfits that will allow me to wear these boots daily. BEST BUY EVER. Worth every penny and put UGG to shame... February 14, 2014
EXCELLENT-like 4 wheel drive for your feet! It's another sloppy day in New England and these boots have been tremendous in the snow, slush and rain. These are on the large side and they did give me blisters the first time I wore them, but they have redeemed themselves a hundred times over. My feet have stayed dry and warm and I have great traction on some pretty unpleasant sidewalks. I have confidence when walking on icy sidewalks and through slushy puddles. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone who has to brave sloppy winter days. February 13, 2014
a walk in the park I bought these boots so I could enjoy walking in cold, snowy and cold wet conditions. I have taken 2 and 3 hour walks in the park on untreated trails on 15F degree days and my feet stay warm and toasty... and I hear and feel the crunch of snow with each step. The heavy treads are good for stability. My feet are narrow, usually take N size, but I padded up the arch with an extra insole so they are reasonably comfortable.Walking on bare pavement is cumbersome, akin to driving with snow tires on bare highways! I have other warm boots to wear when it is cold but dry.But I'm glad I have these so I can enjoy the cold outside this winter after a good snow storm of which we have had several. February 13, 2014
Big and Clunky But So Warm I ordered these boots in order to survive the Polar Vortex that just won't leave Chicago. Having to walk to and from the train and to and from work with my old boots just wasn't cutting it anymore, so after a ton of research I finally decided that this brand was the best. I ordered this specific boot because I liked the neutral colors and the height of the boot. When I received the boot I was surprised to see how big and clunky these were. If you are looking for boots that make your feet look small these aren't for you. I wear a size 9 normally, so that is what I ordered. The inner boot fits perfectly. The outer boot is huge, but my foot doesn't slide around or anything; I just feel like I am wearing steel toe boots. You definitely get a good leg workout in if you are walking long distances in these things. The first 3-4 times I wore these boots I found that the stiff suede material really hurt my ankles and they were pretty uncomfortable. I started to bend the boots back and forth to loosen them up a bit when I didn't have them on and after about a week they feel wonderful. They keep my feet nice and toasty and the best part is that they are completely waterproof. Even the suede material. My only complaint is that unless I am wearing knee socks, my socks always end up around my toes when I have these on. All in all, I am VERY happy with my purchase and definitely recommend if you aren't bothered by how clunky these boots are. February 12, 2014
Not designed for daily hard wear use by farmers! Bitterly disappointed. This is my 2nd pair of Sorel boots and I will NEVER buy Sorel again. If you are looking for light use boots for snow shoveling, grocery store trips, snowmobiling or use that doesn't require much walking this is you boot but if you want an every day, on the farm, live in them 9 hours a day don't buy this boot. The rubber has cracked on both boots from walking and now lets the wet in. The liners wear made with such a small opening it was almost impossible to get your foot in without cutting into the felt and I have a size 7, narrow foot. This boot is in it's second winter which equates to about 6 months of solid wear in it's lifetime. From Sorel I expected more but would hazard a guess that these boots are made overseas and do not have the same qualities that Sorel was originally known for. My first pair of Sorel Caribou boots lasted 9 winters and only the tread wore out. I would suggest Sorel look into the quality of it's production before they lose another customer due to poor workmanship. February 11, 2014
Love my new boots! If your looking for nice warm boots then you will love these. I wear a size 10 so they aren't very petite looking but they keep my feet so nice and warm and all the tread on the bottom makes walking on ice a breeze. I wasn't sure if I should go up a size since I wear thick socks but I printed out the size chart and had my thick socks on measured my feet and still was at the size 10 measurement. They fit like a glove. I would definitely recommend buying these boots. February 10, 2014
Horrible Boot I have had a pair of Sorel boots for 12 years and at Christmas I bought a new pair of Women's Caribou boots - They do not protect your feet at all in cold weather - something is very wrong with this version and I am horrified that for the price I am stuck with boots that are a SERIOUS DANGER TO MY TOES! The upper section is cozy but the foot part is useless - where the stitching is,above the toe area, you actually feel the chill penetrating - Really disappointing as they look great but my toes tell another story - and I had woollen socks on! I had to come back and put on my old Merrils - Not a happy customer at all. February 8, 2014
Just what I needed These keep my feet warm, dry and safe on my commute to work and when digging out of my house. February 7, 2014
Adorable Boot-Size WAYYYY too big I am usually a 7.5 and ordered this boot in a size 8. When I received these boots, I cannot express how big they were in size and fit. I was considering going a full size down to a 6.5, and I have never gone below a size 7 before. Unfortunately, it looks like they are out of stock of all 6 -7s through the Winter, so I will have to wait until next season to purchase these. Otherwise, the boots were absolutely adorable and looked fantastic with jeans or leggings. February 6, 2014
Lovin' my boots! I love the boots. They are warm and durable. The only thing about them is that they are very chunky and heavy. This is how most heavy duty winter boots are so there is not much you can do in that department. February 6, 2014
Good but... I like these boots, they are warm and comfy but a bit on the heavy side. My biggest issue is that when I take my foot out, the inner lining comes with it. I have to do a weird twisting thing to get my foot out and leave the lining in. Hope that that will fix itself overtime as I break them in a little. February 4, 2014
Excellent warm boot... This isn't your stylish walk around the city boot, this is your I'm going snowmobiling, ice fishing, sledding boot. It does run quite large. I am normally an 8, but ordered an 8.5 to be safe and probably would have been fine with an 7.5/8. My husband can wear my boot with just it being slightly snug on him and he is a 9. These are kind of heavy, but they are VERY WARM and comfortable. I have worn them in deep snow, on the ice, on a snowmobile and my feet never once got a bit cold and only had on one pair of wool blended socks. When my husband wears them he can only wear a normal cotton sock in them and his feet still stay very warm and dry. Highly recommended!! February 3, 2014
Happy! I am so happy with my new boots! When I first put them on, I thought I could have gone a 1/2 size smaller, but after wearing them all day, I am not 100% sure that was needed. Wore my boots all day this Saturday after a snow storm (I live in KS) and my feet were so warm and I did not slip once! I felt so safe! It takes a little bit to get used to the size of the boot as with any snow boot. But I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. I will definitely buy more Sorels in the future. Not because I think my boots will ever wear out, but just to have some options--it is a beautiful, high quality boot. February 3, 2014
Ok These boots do run big! I ordered a 10 which is my normal shoe size but a 9.5 probably would have been better. When I first opened the box I thought they sent me men's boots! These boots are very big and heavy. They are warm which I really like I just wish I would have known they were so manly looking I would have picked a different style. If I hadn't paid shipping to me and have to pay return shipping I would return for a different more feminine style. February 1, 2014
Great boots! These are my first pair of Sorel boots and I am extremely happy with my purchase. The grey/shale color is stylish looking and they are incredibly warm. I have even worn them a few times without socks in cold, snowy New England and my feet stayed nice and toasty. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for serious winter boots that look cute too. January 29, 2014
Really Liked These Boots Overall I'm very pleased with these boots. Although you can only wear one pair of socks and that can be a little tight to get your feet into the boots. January 28, 2014
WARM!!! its a little hard to get your foot in and our with the thick liner but other than that all positive things to say!!! January 27, 2014
AWESOME :) Perfect here in sub-zero "Chi-beria" Chi-beria (aka Chicago) you have met your match with the Caribout - hah - 3 hours of snow shoveling - not a problem, toastie tootsies the entire time. These Christmas Gift Boots came in the nick of time and I can't be happier.Lily January 27, 2014
Great look, fit and performance! I purchased these boot for my 19 year old daughter who attends college in Ithaca, New York. She needed boots which are waterproof, well insulated and offered excellent traction in snowy & icy conditions. The Caribou Boot keeps her feet warm and dry, and provide excellent traction on moderately hilly, snow covered terrain. And they look great! These boots exceeded her expectations. As previously noted, the inner liner does fit snugly. This has not been a problem for my daughter as the boots are not put on and taken off repeatedly during the day. Further, the fit has relaxed a bit with use. January 27, 2014
Warm, sturdy, and look nice too. I love these boots, especially in snow and slush. January 27, 2014
Trapped I first purchased this same pair from Zappos. I ordered the 9.5 from the reviews I figured I would be safe. They were very narrow and hard to get my foot into. So I returned them. Then it snowed and we got about 20" of snow and they didn't have a size 10. So I came right to Sorel and ordered a size 10 paying about 15$ more from Sorel and No free shipping or returns. The boot I have received are HUGE!!!! I mean a whole 1'' too BIG. already out another 15$ then to return more $$ so I kept them. Since we just got another 26" of Snow. But they make me feel like Frankenstein! I have been a size 10 for ever, I am 5'10" and even for me they are FREAKING HUGE. Which stinks really the 9.5 is way too narrow and the correct size is a monstrosity. Not to mention my toes are cold allot. So good quality wouldn't know, too big kinda cold, slippery on ice. But I needed them and didn't want to dish out another 30$ and wait to return and get another pair. It is pretty sad that they can not regulate the sizing it seems if you have been in business for this long if a woman needs a size 10 it will be a size 10. Makes me sad!!! January 27, 2014
womens caribou snow boots Ordered size 8 for my wife ..Too small, had to return for size 9... fit perfect...runs small.... Otherwise excellent boot.... January 26, 2014
poor fit I loved the type of boot as to color and how it looked, however, the boot itself was too large another type of Sorel boot I needed a size 9 which was a great fit in this boot however, the size was very large looking and very big for my feet. The size also looked and felt like it was built for a man. January 26, 2014
love the caribo's great product,great delivery,great return policy,very satisfied January 25, 2014
WORTH IT. My very old (non-Sorel) boots literally fell apart, so it was time to invest in something quality. I normally wear a size 9.5 in sneakers, 9 in all other shoes. Since the 9.5 was not available, I ordered the women's 10, figuring it would probably fit with thick socks. The inner boot actually fits just right with regular socks, but since I'm not normally a size 10 in any shoes, I'm rating it slightly small -- if I had bought the 9.5, I'm sure it would have been too small. The boot itself is very heavy, and actually kind of huge. It has a big 8 printed on the inside, like it's a men's size 8 with a women's insert, rather than a true women's 10, and it's extremely roomy and wide around the toes (wider than my husband's big Timberland boots).Even though I paid for overnight shipping, I didn't get them for a week, which was extremely frustrating with the whole polar vortex thing upon us. But the boots themselves are great, so I'm still rating them a 5. January 24, 2014
Exactly What I Was Looking For I never thought I would need boots this heavy-duty, but after moving to Chicagoland, and dealing with the slushy sidewalks and cold snaps, I realized just how perfect they are. They are as warm as they claim to be, and comfortable all around. The soles have great traction, too, so there are no worries about slipping, sliding, or busting myself up in a fall. My only warning is for ladies with wider calves like me: while they will fit, they may be a little snug. Nowhere near uncomfortable, just snug. January 23, 2014
improperly sized Had to return the boot due to size- ran extremely large. Would recommend ordering at least one size, if not 2 sizes, smaller. Seemed like it would have been a nice, albeit heavy, boot. January 22, 2014
Too BIG and Too SMALL I bought these b/c i like the idea of inserts. After 2 pregnancies my feet really did grow so i orders a wide shoe. Unfortunately when the boot came it didn't fit... because the boot was way too big and the insert was way too small i couldn't even get my foot in the insert!so now i'm out 15 bucks b/c i had to return them and i still don't have any boots!! and it's been a heck of winter in the northeast!! Back to LL Bean. January 22, 2014
Love these warm winter boots! These are beautifully made, expensive looking boots. They are VERY warm and meant for serious winter days. From a fashion perspective, they are trendy and cute with pants tucked in or with pants over boot. I love wearing them! They are TRUE TO SIZE if you want to wear a sock and/ or possibly an orthotic which I wear sometimes. I bought a size 9 and wear an 8.5 shoe and am happy with the size. The ONLY negative is the weight of each boot. They are heavy, serious boots. These are NOT UGGS! They are stylish REAL winter boots. They are NOT for bopping around the city as a fashion statement due to their weight. I wear my high leather boots for fashion around the city and these SORELS when I want to be warm and cozy AND look good! Good luck!:) January 22, 2014
Caribou Boot - really comfortable I got these boots, tried them on and absolutely loved them. These are replacement boots I needed for snowmobiling. I can't wait to try them in the cold snowy weather however I've already verified they're good for shoveling : ) January 22, 2014
Inconsistent sizing I loved my old Sorels I wore in college in MT. Twenty years later, living in ME, I was ready for a new pair. I generally fluctuate between a 9 and a 9.5 shoe size. I tried a size 9 at Cabelas (hunting store) and surprisingly, they were way too short in the length and did not have a 9.5 in stock. Figuring the 9.5 would be perfect, I ordered online. The weekend the boots arrived, we were hit with a big snow storm. Initially, they felt great, but after wearing them 3 times in the snow, the wool liner spread more deeply into the boot and I realized I am swimming in them!!! They feel like a 10.5. I am so disappointed. I spent $175 for these boots that are way too big and since I have worn them, I can't return them. January 21, 2014
Sturdy, warm and waterproof boots I needed a good pair of boots for working outside in Wisconsin winters. These are just what I needed! My shoe size is 7.5 or 8 depending on the manufacturer and style, and I ordered size 8 boots. I've been wearing them with sock liners plus relatively thin wool socks. My thickest socks make the boots too tight, but I haven't needed thick socks to stay warm. These boots are heavy and sturdy, so don't expect flexibility. I am very happy with these boots. January 20, 2014
Right fit This was a great boot. I ordered a half size up and had plenty of room and the boot wasn't tight which is the fit that I was hoping for. It's suppose to snow tomorrow. Can't wait to try them out. Highly recommend. January 20, 2014
Nice boots I live in Minnesota and need boots that will do well in deep snow and cold temps. I often think about if I should get stuck and need to walk or be exposed to the weather for extended periods of time. The boots are really nice and meet my expectations. January 20, 2014
Sorel Caribou Boot These boots are excellent. I first tried on the right boot and it fit perfectly so I thought that there wasn't a need to try on the left boot. A few days later, I tried the left boot and had difficulty getting my foot all the way to the bottom. However, a 2nd attempt worked just fine as I found that the felt insert wasn't completely down when I first tried them. I love the features, appearance, color choices and quality of these boots. They are well worth the price. January 20, 2014
Function Over Fashion I recently moved to Chicago, IL and survived the Polar Vortex which brought record breaking low temperatures to the area (below zero temps with -40 degree wind chill). I needed a boot that would keep my feet warm and dry. The Caribou Sorel will do just that and more. In fact, my feet were sweating when wearing them. Alternatively, if you are looking for a fashionable book with a feminine flare - don't by the Caribou. It is very clunky and will make your foot appear larger. Again, if your solely looking for a boot that will keep your feet warm and dry - the Caribou is for you! January 20, 2014
Way too bulky I had to return these boots for two reasons. First, I wear a size 9, and ordered the boot in that size. It was way too big. Second, the boot is huge, bulky, and very heavy. I do a lot of walking outdoors, and these were too difficult to walk around in. January 20, 2014
Love these boots Great quality boots. They are comfortable and not too heavy. They are very warm. January 19, 2014
comfortable and warm The boots fit slightly larger than other Sorel boots that are more street/fashion in style, but are still very comfortable and warm. January 19, 2014
Now that I have these it won't snow again for 5 years And that's fine with me. But if it does, I am ready! January 19, 2014
Great snow boot Love the boots! The only issue I have (and it's small) is that the liner inside the boot is a little snug when I put them on. So that is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Once I get the boot on though they are warm and comfortable and exactly what I wanted! January 18, 2014
Had to Return-- far too large I took a chance on ordering these. After reading the reviews I was planning on ordering a size down (I am normally a 6, I would have ordered a 5). However, there were no 5s available, so I went with the 6. Sad to say they were FAR too large. Please believe the reviews. You will have to return them if you order your normal size. Wasted about $30 in shipping, killer. Other than that, great boot. Pretty heavy-- but aren't winter boots supposed to be? January 18, 2014
