Love It!
I saw these boots in an article I read and I was amazed by the very fashionable and practicality of the item. I decided then and their to purchase the boots immediately. They came in the mail in a matter of days and I've been wearing them since. They're perfect for this unpredictable New York City weather and they so comfortable and warm. great boots
I did have to reorder because the boots ran really large. Once the correct size arrived the fit was great and I'm ready for some snowy weather. Comfortable, higher than most similar styles that I've seen so great for heavier snow, stylish and perfect for what I need.

Joan of Arctic boots
I actually purchased these for my sister. They arrived sooner than expected, were nicer looking than the picture, perfect size and warm and comfortable. As she lives in Colorado, they are great snow boots! Great quality!

Stylish and practical
For the harsh Chicago winter I Love my Sorels and would recommend them to anyone! They keep my feet warm and toast and in the nasty slush they keep my feet dry.
They look amazing for a snow boot and I feel I can tread through anything and they look great with my leggings and jeans tucked in. They complete my snowy cabin look I really like.

Joan Of Arctic Boots
So far I love love love these boots, I wear an 8 1/2 and got a 9, so they're a little big but I don't even care. My mother has also had the same pair of Sorel boots for 20 years, and they are still doing fine. I expect mine will also last so long.

Great and Terrific
Bought these boots for my daughter who is in her late teens and has to walk to take public transit and wait for buses with connections here in a Montreal, Quebec Canada winter to get to school/college. Style is the number one priority for her. But what a high terrific performing boot in our weather!
It has been a mixed bag of freezing rain, raining at freezing point or below freezing, and whole streets and sidewalks are covered in slippery glistening ice, and then it rains freezing slushy big snow flakes, or a combo of small hail with snowflakes, or we have just the regular 50 - 100 km winds and a regular driving snow storm.. all in January 2012 all around freezing or below..and then after all this comes the super sunny days with super sub zero cold arctic temperatures of a high of -18C during the day or below at night. These Joan of Arctic boots are waterproof to go through slush and pools of freezing rain, they have traction to not slip out from underneath you on ice because they are wide and keep your feet flat and upright and apart for better balance, and they also keep your feet roasty toasty through high drifts of driving snow that accumulates during storms and is plowed up into banks of snow, ...and these boots are great for super sub zero weather days that occur here in January and February because they keep the heat at your toes due to the design of the boot...they are wide at the toes to keep the warm air circulating.
Hooray and thanks Sorel for a great design that keeps the feet happy and the body safely upright within the harshest mixed weather one can have here..all in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I know my daughter is safe, steady, with a reduced risk of wipeouts.. and not have her feet slip up on the icy surfaces, and not have her head and back bang back into concrete and ice, getting concussions on the sidewalk and roads, and also, on the deep freezing temperature days, to not have any frozen toes.
Thanks Sorel again.. I'm getting a pair for myself to walk the dogs.. P.S. Since the boot is wide, my 5 ft 10 in daughter usually takes a size 10 shoe but fits comfortably into a size 9 boot without any slippage in the back heel of the boot.

love this boot - great if you've got big calves
These boots kept my feet completely warm and dry during a recent visit to a ski mountain where the temperatures were in the 10s. I've got big calves and sometimes have trouble finding boots that will zip, so I was thrilled to find that these are very easy to slip on. Plus, they look great! Trendy and traditional at the same time.

This product is warm
Though I really liked the upper portion of this boot I found the bottom portion to be un-lady like for work. I was really hoping to find a quality (which these are) boot that I could wear to work and wear outside in the snow and cold.

Joan of Arctic ROCKS!
I love these boots! Living in Maine, I need a super warm and comfortable boot and the Joan of Arctic definitely fits the bill. They work best with a regular sock for a snug fit, not too thick--that way, the warm air in the boot liner can circulate and keep the entire foot warm. If you are a 6.5 or any half size, get the 6 as you want the boot snug with a reg. sock, not all gappy and loose.
Also, while it may feel a little tight at first, the boot has a wonderful overall break-in over a few weeks' wear and it all settles to a perfect fit. Hooray! My feet are finally warm after searching all these years for the perfect winter boot! (The fact that the liners can be removed and dried by the wood stove and then easily put in the boot makes it such an added plus to heating them up before going out in below zero weather!).

LOVE!!
Wanted something to keep my feet warm and dry and look fashionable as well! These are perfect!! I am extremely happy with my boots and get tons of compliments all the time! (even from guys ;)) I usually wear 8 1/2 but these didn't come in half sizes so I ordered the 8 and they fit great!

extreamly dissapointed
this boot has a 25 below tempeture rating...huh it was 20 degrees out today and I wore them from the house to the car, from the car into work than back again. My feet were freezing as if I had on a sneaker. Not only were they not warm but they also rubbed the back of my ankel raw. A boot that cost $140 should not cause this kind of pain with such little wear and at the very least keep your feet warm in a car!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cozy and Cute
These boots are stylish and functional. I live in Chicago and they keep my feet warm even on the coldest days. The fur is fun, but I already have a lot of faux fur happening with my winter gear. It would be great if there were an insert with faux sheep wool that would work with this shoe - like the original sorels.
All in all, a great boot that I expect to last a long, long time.

A beautiful boot and a great buy!!
After reading all the reviews I feel the need to stress that this is a durable, comfortable and cute boot! I usually run between a 5 1/2 and a 6 and decided to go with the 5 which worked out perfect. The 6's were way too big. It may be a bit clunky or whatever but that's because it's a rugged boot! And honestly with the 5 I feel like they're well fitted. Super solid boot, I would highly recommend!

wide boots
my boots were too small. So I was not pleased about that. Other then that I thought they were beautiful. What I do not get is that the boots are extremely wide at the front. So you need duck feet to fill them up.
I returned them because they were too small.

boots okay, return shipping - watch out!
Boots fit okay and looked okay but they are BIG! I mean they are heavy and just a big pair of boots. Very wide and I have wide feet. Kind of hard to walk in because the back part is stiff and shaped strangely. Because of that, I returned them. I actually had three pairs - 2 for daughters and 1 for me. I returned them all for the same reason and it cost $40 to ship them back - it was 18 pounds for three pairs of boots. Never again will I order from this website, but might try other Sorel products!

Adorable boot, but not functional
After seeing this product being advertised as a rugged outdoor boot, I purchased them with the intention of using them as such. I was disappointed to discover that I could not. The boots are stiff and clunky, making you waddle as you walk, which would almost be ok if the clunky design served a purpose - such as keeping you warm. Even with two pairs of socks on (one being thick wooly socks) within 15 minutes of walking through snow, my toes start to go numb from being too cold. Unacceptable for the price. On extended hikes, the stiff back cuts into your lower leg, above the achiles and no matter whether you tighten them up or loosen them, they still cut into you.
On the bright side, these are very attractive boots, I recieved many compliments when I did wear them. The overall craftmanship is outstanding, and they seem very durable, despite the thin, tractionless sole. If you want to LOOK like you spend time outside, go ahead and purchase these to clunk around the mall in. If you DO spend time outside, I would not recommend these.

Just What I Was Looking For
My husband has had his Sorels for over 15 years, and when my snow boots gave out at the end of last winter I knew I wanted a pair of long-lasting Sorels of my own.
So excited to find the Joan of Arctic - they're functional and attractive, and very warm for New England winters. Need some breaking in, and fit just a little large, but I need inserts due to flat feet so that's perfect.
Looking forward to a long life from these. Just hoping that Sorel puts out a liner replacement for the Joan of Arctic - didn't see one on the website.

Love my new Joan of Arctic boot! I live in a cold cllimate-- so they will be perfect! On the fit, I wear a true 7 and the 7 fit, but I can't wear a super thick sock-- also first time wear they are a bit stiff, but get much better!!

In Love But Looking for Snow
My wonderful hubby bought me these beautiful boots for Christmas. They are so warm and comfy - perfect for the long Wisconsin winters. I wear a 7 1/2 shoe size and did need to go with the size 7 boot which still has nice room so I think they run a little on the large side. Sadly, it has been a really warm WI winter with virtually no snow and 50 degrees in the middle of January! But today, we are anxiously awaiting a big snow storm and I will be out there testing my lovely boots later tonight. They already feel great so I know they are going to feel even better walking in the snow. Definitely recommend - a great purchase.

Love, Love, Love!
After my daughter and husband got their Sorels and raved about them, it was my turn to get some boots. They were right. They are comfortable, warm and exactly what I needed. I was looking for a durable boot that I could wear in the snow, wear to the ski slopes before changing into ski boots, could wear on cold days when I am out and about. These boots fit that perfectly. Because these boots don't have half sizes, I went up a size. My daughter had told me that these boots run large. Because I planned to put an insert into them and that I wear a heavy sock with them, I went up a size. If I hadn't planned to do this, I would have gone down a half size. Love the quality of this boot and know they will last me thru many cold winters.

Comfy and warm
I use these boots when we have snow and ice so that I can go out and walk my dogs without slipping and falling. The boots are very warm and the soles help keep me from sliding on the icy sidewalks and streets.

best ever
Growing up in northern minnesota my parents always had sorels on my feet in the winter time. i just purchased a pair for my daughter called joan of arctic and for the 150.00 that i spent on them was well worth it and she will NEVER have to buy a new pair of boots EVER again. and my pair of boots are sorels that are 40 yrs old and still keep my feet warm. these must be made in U S A.

My Stompin' Boots
I purchased this boot with the intention of making it my cold-weather Festival boot and after trekking up to Tahoe for New Year's Eve with them, I made the right choice!
Waterproof and insulated, they also provide great comfort for my feet, even after dancing wildly in them for hours. What I liked most about the fit was the ankle support. My ankles were secure, but my toes were still free to wiggle around in the three layer of socks I wore.
I even wore them under my costume as I performed a GLO Hoop routine. I was still able to move and groove in them.
The fur trim went well with the many layers of wool + faux fur I wear at Festivals. They are well-made, stylish, and are the difference between a night of partying; and a night of damp, cold feet.

Not any smaller than a size 5
Being a size 5 it's hard enough to even find shoes in my size, so you can imagine how excited I was that this boot went small enough for me! They do however run large. For me they are wide in the toe box, wide in the heel, as well as long. However being how warm and cozy (not to mention cute) they are, I just threw an insole in them to snug them up.

Aside from the fact that I'm in a 9.5 and went to a ten so the boots wiggle and I shuffle my feet a little I have absolutely no complaints about these. The quality is phenomenal, the colors are true to the pictures on the site and I have recommended these to all of my friends.

Excellent Purchase
These boots were an excellent purchase. They are cute and stylish while being totally practical. I live in the heart of the Northeast Ohio Snow Belt and I need boots that can handle some really tough weather - these are it! There are super comfortable and I get complimented on them everywhere I go. I would buy another pair in an instant - though I know I won't have to because Sorels have such a great reputation for quality. These boots will last several seasons I'm sure. Overall, I am completely satisfied with my purchase and I would highly recommend these boots!

Sorel Love in Denver!
I'd always bought your average regualer Joe Schmoe winter boot up until this year when I decided that as a commuter I wasn't going to "survive" another wet and frozen foot winter. I was looking around and a friend (who should be sainted) told me to check out Sorel because they were super heavy duty. Now as a stylish commuter who lives in Colorado and doesn't drive, heavy duty is not what you want to hear. Heavy duty usually means water proof and warm yet heavy and manly and I can't stand walking around lugging 10 pounds in boots and worse, looking like a lady until you hit the feet and looking like a man!
It wasn't until another friend (who should also be sainted) walked into work with the cutest pair of boots on. I asked where she got them and BOOM! She told me, "Sorel". I went onto the site and I saw the cutest boots with so many reviews giving information on the boot the pros and cons (very few) and ordered a the Joan of Artics. Best decision ever! At first I was wary because though cute, they seemed kinda heavy but, about 3 days after having received the boots it blizzarded like none other and work does not close for blizzards in Colorado and I took the boots out on their first run.
Immediately I knew these were perfect! They lace up perfectly and have great cinching ability and hugged my foot instead of squeezing them. As I was walking I was kind of disappointed with the "blizzard". Usually you're sliding about and the snow is sticking to the boots but the snow was just coming down heavy but no slide until I realized that while I wasn't sliding other walkers were!
That's when I realized that these babies have some serious tread! I hit an ice patch and even though I slipped a little I didn't do the whole show hands routine to try to catch yourself. As I made it into work I was sure my boots would be soaking but as I unlaced I realized that they were very dry and didn't look at all to have been walked in for 3 miles in the snow!
And the best part you ask? They look great with just about anything! And are actually super comfy to walk in. I've walked around an aquarium chasing wild children and my feet didn't hurt nor were my legs exhausted from lugging around these boots.
They're light, water proof, warm, and stylish. That is how I believe heavy duty should be defined. Sorel has me in boot heaven!

Gift for my Wife
This is a gift for my wife, she really likes the boots. The first pair were to big (size 8) we returned them and ordered a size 7. I recieved the new pair in less than 4-days, thank you for the quick response, she told me her shoe size was a 7 and I screwed up and ordered 8, you saved me.

Very nice boot!
Ordered because I need some snow boots when it snows. Haven't worn them yet, but they are very stylish, although the front of the shoe looks a little big. When I tried them on with jeans, the front didn't look so big. Can be worn as a casual shoe with jeans or for shoveling/playing in snow.

Joan of Arctic's are AWESOME!!!! Perfect Boots
Sizing was just right! I love these boots! they look great with tucked in Jeans, Very comfy and cozy to wear. The soft suede is beautiful, and water proofed and weather protected. I got them for functionality to wear driving up to the mtn skiing, but wear them for much more because they look great!

love my new snow boots
These boots are perfect, the quality is amazing down to the smallest detail, very comfortable, fashionable, highly functional, warm yet breathable, waterproof. prior to this i had an Ugg lace up snow boot, they were unfeminine and heavy but served their purpose for many years. my new sorels are a huge inprovment.

Cute and functional
I received these boots as a Christmas gift and I love them!!!!!!! I do think however that they run a little big. if you are a half size I recommend getting the size smaller. I wear an 8.5-9 and have an 8 in these boots and the fit is perfect. Very warm and I like how the fur has snaps so you can remove it if you want. Great boot!

Super cute, yet practical
I got these for my 22 year old daughter for Christmas, she loves them! Super comfy, I think they'll be really warm. One thing would be nice--the felt liners dont come out, but thats not a big deal. They shipped so quickly too, I was impressed.
