LOVE THESE BOOTS!
I bought these shoes last year and I wear them all the time with everything! My mom and sister now bought the same pair because we all love them. I get so many compliments on them and they actually keep my feet warm! I live in Minnesota so the winters here get nasty and COLD, and I need a boot that keeps me warm. Even after I take them off an hour later I'll put them back on to go some place and they are still warm inside! I usually wear a size 8 but they do run large so I ordered a size 7. Way better than the UGG boots I bought. I highly recommend these boots.

love these boots!
We finally got snow and I was able to wear these boots! I wore them for 12 hours straight and still loved them by the end of the day. At the end they felt a bit heavy and slightly clunky, but so worth it because they kept my feet dry and incredibly warm all day long. Also, I usually wear 8.5, but ordered up and they are perfect. They are a bit stiff around the ankles, but I expect them to loosen a bit as they wear. I recommend these boots to everyone!

Cate the great
Love my cate the great! Can't wait to wear them more with the weather being so warm in ny. I think they are true to size and slightly roomy for winter socks. Recommend absolutely, very comfortable.

I lov my cate the great boots. My true size is 9 1/2 and I ordered at 9 but they run too large. I will recomend to order one size smaller. Please, if these boots will come in half sizes will be a great idea. Anyways, I love them very comfortable and warm. I will recomend it.

Terrible, save your money!
I loved how these boots looked, but when I actually wore them they were terrible.
No grip, I almost fell just walking down the street on my way to work. My old boots, which were cheap winter boots worked better. As well, they were heavy to walk in and gave me huge blisters, even though they fit correctly according to the size chart.
Everyone said Sorels were a top notch product so that's why I went with them. I believed the hype, don't buy into it. Save your money!

perfect winter boot
I've only had these boots for just over two weeks, but I've been wearing them every day! I got them right before a 12 day trip to the mountains in CO (end of December), and these boots were perfect in every situation. My feet were always toasty and warm even when the temps were down in the teens. I went hiking through snow in the mountains in them and the boots were comfy, dry, and warm. I also wore them in the evenings and around town. These boots (in black) were easy to dress up or down and wonderfully functional. After wearing them in various situations every day for two weeks I can't think of one thing I'd want to change about them. They also look exactly the way they did right out of the box - no wear and tear from stomping around on a mountain or treading around in town. Now I just want another pair in another color! I have a feeling these boots are going to be my go-to shoe until temps rise again - even back in DC where I live.
I also wanted to add that I had to speak to Sorel customer service a few times before my boots arrived in the mail (I had accidentally given the wrong shipping address), and I found the customer service people very pleasant to deal with. It took a couple days to correct the delivery issues, but that was due to UPS' system and not Sorel. Sorel customer service tried to be helpful, listened to me, and did everything they said they would to try to correct the shipping issue, including calling me back the next day with all the UPS information I would need to get my delivery. I really appreciated it as it was right before the holidays and my trip. My boots arrived right when I wanted them!

College kids can be hard to shop for, either you don't want to buy something they won't use, or you can't afford what they really want. This was perfect, needed and something she wanted with a little extra to make her feel special. I know she will be warm walking to classes.

so cozy and CUTE!
I lusted over these boots for over a month, and my awesome hubby got them for me for me for the holidays. I was so happy to get them in the mail, but once I tried them on they were too big (even with my thickest winter socks). I had to return them, but I am getting them again in a size 6.
Thanx to the customer service staff at Sorel for being so helpful and beyond nice!!!

My First Pair of REAL Winter Boots!!!
I bought these in November and couldn't wait for the snow and cold weather to get here so I could try them out. I Love them. Cute, fashionable and warm. So glad I didn't size up. I read quite a few reviews before ordering and my usual size was perfect with just a tad bit of extra room. Also very comfortable. I'm hoping these last me a long time. I'll be really sad the day I have to part with them.

Great boots
I haven't had dry, warm winter boots since I was 9...and not for lack of trying. The added benefit that though these boots are lace up - I can just slip in and out of them is much appreciated.

Comfortable Boot
Have worn the boots only in the house to test for comfort. I cooked dinner while wearing them -- Extremely comfortable and cannot wait to take them out in the snow for a test run when we head to Jackson Hole in February. Will write another review then. Boots are super cute!!!!

elegant, sporty, sexy and warm
i own these boots in two different colors.
i wear them with my jeans, skirts, dresses and lululemon outer wear. they look perfect with any and every look!
i can stand in snow in them for hours and my feet dont get cold. i have hiked in them comfortably for miles or worn them all night with no discomfort. they dont bunch around the ankles like the lift line boots.
i have 17 inch calves (snowboarder/swimmer/triathlete) and they fit beautifully and actually complement my legs.
i get complimented almost every where i go.
ps. they have amazing customer service. you cant beat a human answering the phone every time you call. i will be a loyal customer for life.

What an AMAZING boot.
When asked, I told my husband that I wanted a pair of snow boots for xmas. He chose the brand and I chose the style. Obviously he wants nothing but the best for me. After reading all the reviews, I was convinced. I am an 8-8 1/2 and went with a size 8. This is a perfect fit. I wore these boots to the Minneapolis Holidazzle parade with my thinnest pair of socks and my feet stayed warm the entire night. Finally a SEXY warm snow boot.
As for the bad reviews, if you want something that fits snug around your ankles then go buy a pair of dress boots. I also do not feel these are a clunky boot, they are a lot lighter than they look.
My 7yr old had a pair of Sorel's long before I did and now I can see why she loved hers so much. Sorel, you've got me sold! We'll be Sorel gals for life.

Amazing boots, and cute!
I was concerned at first about buying these boots, just by reading other reviews about them being too clunky, or too big. Not true! These boots are a great fit, and they are so fun to look at! Originally I am a size 8 1/2, but I went down a half size and they fit perfect. I love my Cate the Greats!

Ammmmmmazing!
I was obsessed with these boots for weeks before I actually broke down and ordered them. Now I cant take them off! People complain that they are large and clunky like snowboarding boots, but I think the complete opposite! I wear mine around the house as if they are slippers. They are the first think I put on when getting out of bed in the morning and the last thing I take off before I go to sleep at night. Pair them with leggings and a over-sized comfy sweater and it definitely feels like winter time!
If you are worried about size, I suggest finding somewhere that carries Sorel's so you can try them on for yourself, especially if you have never owned Sorel's before. I wear an 8 and got an 8 and they fit just fine. They may be a bit tight when I pull out my extra thick wools socks though..... But nothing to complain about. NO complaints for me as far as this boot goes!! : ) GET THEM!

Awesome Boots!
I bought this boot for it's combination of fashion and function! It comes to my knee which will be great for deep snow banks! Also, it's waterproof and warm! I bought my regular shoe size, which is a 7. Now, when the snow comes, I'm ready! Thank you Sorel for making such great products!
P.s. I still have a pair of 30 year old Caribou boots that are still in great condition!

Perfect Fit and Comfort!
I ordered these on line and was worried about how they would fit as I didn't want the hassle of returning them and re-ordering again. I took out a standard ruler and measured the length of my foot. 11 inches on the nose. I ordered the Size 11's. My foot is a bit wider than most and these were a perfect fit for me. I can wear them with a thin sock as comfortably as I can with a thick sock.
For those comments re the boot being "clunky"...let's face it, if you are ordering these it's because you want some serious foot warmth AND fashion some place where you get serious winters. These are not your thin suede sexy boots. But I have gotten TONS of compliments on them and my tootsies are warm, dry, and fashionable.

The boots fit a little big and I wasn't sure what size to get since I am a true 7 1/2. I ended up gettting the 7 and I am very happy I did. I think the 8 would have been too big. Love the color and the style. I am super excited!!

These boots are wonderful! They do run a little large but I read other's reviews and ordered a size smaller and they fit PERFECT! I normally wear a 7 1/2 - 8 and ordered a 7. Shipping was extremely fast.

Great snowy boot
I live in the Sierras and was looking for a good snow boot with a high cuff. I settled on the Cate the Great and don't regret it. Love the look, as well as the neoprene cuff inside to keep snow out, as well as the style. I usually wear a 9 1/2 or a 10 in dress shoes. I ended up with a size 9 in these, and even in thick socks I have plenty of room. I would size down. Overall, very pleased.

Unique and Exciting
These boots are fabulous! Not only are they different but every single time I wear them almost everyone I come into contact with comments on how "beautiful" they are! These boots are warm and waterproof. When wearing, prepare for a slightly clunky feel, they don't fit tight to the foot, they are a true snow boot.. These boots look cute with just about anything, especially leggings! They do fit a bit bigger, however I am a true size 8 and i felt that the 7's were too small..so i just got the 8 and am getting used to that slightly bigger fit, but really its not a huge deal. The stitching is gorgeous and the color options are so much fun, my dark grey are a huge hit!

Stylish, practical boots
These boots are fantastic. Not only do they look great, but they are perfect for walking around campus on snowy Colorado days. They are super warm, and very comfortable. I'm an 8, but I would recommend sizing down. The 7s fit perfectly.

Love my Sorels
I love all my sorels. These are great, usually wear size 9. Got these in a 9, they are a bit roomier than my Joan of Artics which are an 8. Only design "flaw" is the flap around the bottom where snow likes to pack in and hang out. These are great for pulling on quickly, snowmobiling, walking, going to town in!

living in Minnesota it becomes a rite of winter to find this seasons winter boots - and as a dog trainer I wear mine every day - so they must be quick on, waterproof and warm. plus I may be a dog trainer but I'm still a girl so my boots must be cute too. well, I found all of these qualities in cate the great. thanks sorel.....my dogs thank you too :)

Excellent Quality but Too Small?
Received these boots in a reasonable amount of time. They were excellent quality. I had read that they run large but went ahead and ordered my size (11) and figured I could always wear thicker socks if they were too roomy. To my surprise they were too small (length wise). They sat in my living room for a week before I returned them and I received half a dozen complements from family and friends without even wearing them.
The return process was a little awkward because they will not exchange for a different size, they will only return and give your money back and then you can re-purchase. This causes me to pay for shipping 3 times... which was not cheap. I will be reordering these in a size 12 (although I wear size 11 in Sketchers and Dansko).

AMAZING....
I absolutely love my Sorels. I got the Pewter/Black boots. They fit perfectly, I usually wear a 7 1/2 and I ordered the 7 and they fit. Their shipping is very quick. The boots look amazing with everything and are super comfortable. I cant find enough great things to say about these boots.

True test yet to come
I took this for a run-through in the freak snow/slush storm that hit NYC this weekend and they kept my warm, dry and stylish, with no slipping on sidewalks of muck. They seem to be a bit big and therefore pull my socks down around my ankles, and that will need to be remedied before I start using these for "real" commuting in blizzards and hiking in Minnesota.
That said, I look forward to testing them up in -25 degrees!

Great boot
I currently live in California and bought these as I am about to live in Germany for the next three years, and from what I hear they have really cold winters. These boots will definitely keep my feet and legs warm! I'm looking forward to wearing them every chance that I get. They fit great with either my bare feet or with a pair of socks. A co-worker of mine, who used to live in Alaska, recommended them to me and I'm very glad she did.

just didn't fit
i'm usually a size 9. because these boots do run large, the 9s were just too big, even with super thick socks on; i was clomping around and the boot practically rubbed my heel raw after just 30 minutes of indoor wear because it was sliding so much. i tried the 8s, but they were too small, even with thin socks - my toes were completely crushed. interestingly, the 8 liner with the 9 boot fit really well. alas, that wasn't actually an option...
i ADORE these boots. they are such high quality, beautiful especially considering the function they provide and are perfect if you live somewhere with wet below zero winters like i do.
sorel, PLEASE make Cate in half sizes! or let us mix and match liners!

Very comfortable
I am a size 6.5 in boots. I ordered a size 6 and they fit comfortably. In fact, I still have room and might have been able to fit into a size 5.5 if they sold half sizes. These boots run a bit large which is fine because I am sure they figured we'd wear thick socks during the winter months. True in my case, although these boots are warm enough and thick socks will probably not be needed. They are very comfortable when walking or standing. I did not have any problems with the heel as some have mentioned. I recommend this winter boot to anyone who treads in the snow whether it be for a work/school commute, snow shoveling, or winter sports. It's a great boot.

Boots for Winter
Well, it's August here in Georgia, which means no snow to conquer, but I'll be moving to Philly to test these babies out. I'll review based on fit and indended use.
They fit just right; I was going to size up to a 9.5, as I am between a 9 and a 10, but went with a 9 after reading other reviews. Enough room, but not too much.
They are definitely going to be super warm. At this point, I'm wondering if they're overkill for the weather in Philly, but there is no doubt I'll be warm and dry, which is better than cold and wet.
They do seem a little bulky as I was hoping for a bit more style to have them be multi-purpose. However, I believe they will become multi-purpose in my mind after I realize how awesome they truly are. And, they are going to last forever. You know when you can feel quality just by picking it up? Well, that's here in these boots. Thank you, Sorel.

Happy
I bought these boots for a last minute Bachlorette Party in Big Sky MT. I love them! Kept my feet super warm, went out to dinner and drinking in them, dancing and hiking and my feet felt great. Kate The Great! They run a touch big but I didn't find it a problem, just keep that in mind if you are a half size person.

Warm warm warm
These boots are fantastic. I live in Alaska and obviously need reliable winter boots. I purposefully trudged through the deepest snow I could find to make sure these boots really were warm and waterproof. They are! And they're pretty cute too. They definitely don't fit like tight tight "night on the town" boots, but for warm and waterproof they look pretty good!

I hate when boots don't come in half sizes
These were very pretty, well made and lightweight....I ordered a 7 which were too small as I am true 71/2. They were also too tall for my five foot two body, and not flattering to my short leg. I am exchanging for another style... TBD

Adorable and functional.
I *love* this boot. It's so warm (like other reviewers said, if you want it to be warm, don't put on 60 pairs of socks - one light pair or some tights will get your feet toasty). The grip is pretty amazing for most surfaces. And they're so cute! I've never worn them without getting compliments. I always bring them for my trips to the snow, and they've also worked well for cold rainy days in the Pacific Northwest. Then I can wear skirts and they're way more comfy and cute than rain boots.
I did find the ankle rub the first couple times I wore them (I have muscly calves which made it hard to tighten the boots properly), but I just wrapped my ankles with tape when I was running around in them a couple of nights. I haven't a single problem since.

Chunky but Cute
Initially when I received the boots I wasn't exactly over the moon, they were pretty chunky but looked cute. Once I tried them on, they felt big but I figured I could wear two pairs of socks. The first week of wearing them, my left back of the ankle area rubbed badly against the crease on the back of the boot, so I wore a band aid and two pairs of thick socks which helped. I am now happy with them and think they look really good, they are comfortable once the chaffing on the back of the lower leg eases and definitely warm enough. I would suggest getting a size smaller though or half a size smaller. I have wide feet and the boots still feel big but fine with double socks.

Oh So Happy!
I was super concerned about the boot's fit, having read the reviews. I measure a true size 8, but my feet a narrow and I have a high arch. Most of the reviews I read, spoke of the boot fitting large or wide. I ordered a size 8 and it definitely fits true to size, length wise. The shoe also seemed to fit the width of my foot fairly well, especially around the toes, ball, and arch of my foot. The heel does slip a bit, but I have found this to be true with every pair of winter boots I have ever owned or worn. I am hoping that as the leather breaks in, I will be able to adjust the laces tighter to provide a snugger fit around the ankle to secure my heel. I think it is important to remember that this boot is designed to be a winter boot, not a boot for fashion (though it includes many fashionable details). Therefore, it will not fit like boot for fashion. The brown is super cute, btw!
