Men's Conquest™ Boot

Men's Conquest™ Boot 4 5 55 56
Something Bulging Through the Inside of Boot All in all I like the boots I received but the problem I have is that inside the boot just above my Achilles tendon there is something in side the boot (material bulging through the inside) that is rubbing pretty badly against that area and causing a great deal of discomfort. It is reasons like this why I hate ordering online products as you don't have a chance to see and feel how something fits "correctly". The style and most of the design of the boot is exactly what I needed for Colorado other than this particular discomfort. Haven't had time to contact Sorel and deal with this yet. I would normally recommend the boot but this one issue is rather difficult to deal with. May 9, 2013
Great boot Bought these after wearing out my old boots, these were super comfortable on the hike in, kept my feet warm and dry throughout the entire trip. May 8, 2013
Men's conquest boots The best boots money can buy!!!!owned my first pair for 9 years. "Built to last"!!! March 22, 2013
Mostly great until stitching went after 5 months I purchased these boots for rugged farm work which oftentimes requires working in soupy mud and/or below freezing, harsh conditions. The seal between the leather upper and the rubber sole (about three o'clock on the left boot, nine o'clock on the right boot from the toe) gave out barely five months into owning the boots, which had a solid three months' use. Hoping to get them repaired under warranty as they're less than a year old, but I simply cannot spare the boots for the four-week repair period. I wear plastic bags on my feet for now until the end of mud season. Stick to snow and non-mud if you want these to last. March 8, 2013
Thanks Again Second pair... Still awesome. I bought my first ones about ten years ago. In the second season i put my atv thru the ice. I spent all day walking in muck up to my waist. The boots held together for another eight years. The heel in the left one finally gave and started to cut my foot. I was really excited to see that they now make the boot in all black. I was sold instantly. As a guy who spends ninety percent of his time on the ice in winter, Massachusetts long winters, I have been very pleased. My feet only get cold when it is about midnight and we have not fired the heater in the shanty yet, ha, ha. Honestly, for the money you spend on these boots, you will be thoroughly impressed at the quality and comfort. I have walked righ up to the gusset in water and have never had wet feet, Maybe sweaty socks, but not wet feet. Thank you so much again Sorel. I hope to get twenty years out of these. Please dont ever stop making this boot. February 27, 2013
This product has great features I love these boots, i have since bought three pairs, one in a blk,one in a cinniman bark and one in a khaki color.I like that fact that these boots look rugged, aggressive and sofar , they seem to stand up to their name. They also look great especially with jeans ,they are just a great looking boot and they definitely keep you warm .I live in NYC and although we do get snow from time to time, still in all, it hasen't let me down and seems to be well made .I haven't really dogged it in a sense by wearing everyday during the winter, only when its bad outside and we get heavy snow.So i guess that being said, i'm sure that they will last a whole lot longer , especially if you take good care of them. Also, these boots tend to run about a 1/2 size small from your true size. I suggest that you get either get a 1/2 to 1 full size larger than your true size depending on your foot size / width when ordering. I wear an 8 in US size so i bought a 8.5 .Last, i use to wear timberlands, but ever since these came out and i happen to come across these boots, i tend to like them more than the timberlands and am a happy camper.. February 25, 2013
Great Pair of Boots These boots fit well, are warm and the sole provides great traction. I highly recommend them. February 19, 2013
Only boot you'll ever need Going on 7 years & they're in great shape. Best boot/$ available. Avid skier, outdoors a lot. Always warm, dry & extremely comfy. By far the best winter boots I've ever owned. If you want 1 boot for any winter condition imaginable this is the boot. February 16, 2013
Not sure of durability I bought a pair over a year ago awaiting an ice fishing trip this last week, that was on my bucket list to do. I wore them 1 day, and the outside seam along the rubber bottom and the leather split about 2" long; the threading actually pulled through the rubber. the boot felt good, not tight, I only walked about 100 yards round trip, and they just ripped. I was walking on packed ice with about 4-5 inches of light snow...so I am not sure about the durability of the leather and th rubber. I love the boot, the looks, the feel, the fit, but man the rip just made me look like a fool after bragging about the nice new boots that I had and were proud of. I was actually laughed at, and the ice trip I planned for two years, was ended before it could actually start. February 12, 2013
Great boots Working at a ski resort these are great to have around for working out side or going from building to building when we have new snow. They fit great and are warm even when it -18 out. February 3, 2013
Great boots Great boot, great price. I work in tough conditions, boots lasted three years. Feet never cold, never wet... January 28, 2013
Nice boot. Not too heavy Boot fit nicely. Very warm. I usually have a tough time with breaking in new footwear, but no trouble with this boot. Wore a couple times around the house, then a 2 mile road walk, the a 4 mile trail hike, no problems. Great product. January 23, 2013
warm, comfortable from the first wear Just bought them 2 weeks ago but the boots fit great from the first time I put them on. Very warm and felt great even after being on my feet for a long time. We will see if they stand the test of time... January 20, 2013
Most comfortable boots I own. These boots are great for snow removal jobs or anything where you'll be standing in snow for long periods of time. January 3, 2013
EXCELLENT SNOW BOOT A LITTLE TOUGH ON THE ANKLE BONE DURING THE BREAK-IN, BUT THAT WENT AWAY QUICKLY. I'M VERY PLEASED WITH THIS WINTER BOOT. WORKS GREAT SNOW SHOEING.. January 2, 2013
Men's Conquest Boot is awesome! Love them. They exceeded my expectations! December 27, 2012
Poor Design The boots at first seemed to fill the bill as far as snowshoeing and trekking around the Rocky Mountains. This season I put them on for the first time and the leather separated from the rubber lower and the rubber base cracked and disintegrated. These boots were not exposed to any adverse temperatures other than normal winter temperatures and in the off season were stored in air conditioned spaces. I can only conclude that the rubber base above the sole is made of poor quality materials. These boots were only 5 years old. I would suggest that the boot is redesigned or a new manufacturing vendor is found. December 27, 2012
OUTSTANDING!!!!!! I bought my first pair of these approx 10 years ago, aqnd still have them as 'backup' boots. The rubber has separated a bit at the back of the heel, but other than that, 10 years of HARD wearing. I work outside for a living, and these rubber bottomed boots as a must for a guy like me on my feet 10 to 12 hours a day in all weather. I've also used them in upper Maine on hunting trips. And in North Conway snowmobiling. And a few Patriots snowy games. I wore only heavy weight tube socks with them. Let me tell you, i NEVER had cold feet! The part I like the best about these boots is that they look like regular work boots. I've tried some other types of these boots, but they were way to cumbersome. And getting in and out of the truck, then trying to drive with clown feet! well none of them worked. These are by far the best fitting, warmest, true to size, winter boots I own. And trust me I know boots. I'm a devote Redwing, Chippawa, boot guy, and don't mind one bit paying in excess of $300 a pair. So these Sorel's at $145 are a great deal. After your done reading this, BUY THEM! December 12, 2012
My new Conquest Boots I ordered these boots online and recieved them in the mail not long after. Packaging was good, quality was nice and they looked just like they did in the photos. Sadly it hasnt gotten cold enough to try them out well but I have put them on in 30-40 degree weather and I must say I can tell they are made to be warm, almost too warm at those temps! Im hoping for some snow now so I can put them through their paces. December 6, 2012
Out of the box they worked I picked my boots this morning and wore them and so far after testing them pushing one car out of the snow and wandering around in the snow Iam impressed, for start fit just right. As a photographer here in Alaska was searching for a boot to carry along while traveling for the just incase scenorio and well didnt take long for them to prove them worthy. The idea was to buy a ligthweight boot into the backcountry and wear after a day Backcountry skiing, Ihave plenty of winter boots for all conditions well just might have found the right product. After 12 hours of use I am here to admit the product is just what I am looking for, I run a photo guide company here in Alaska while looking for a boot to buy quite a few pairs for at a good price think I just may have found the right product with out thinking.Time will tell but for the right out of the box test more than met my expectaion, time will tell as for now I am pretty impressed.I work in some of the most adverse condition in the north just looking at the value even if the boot is destroyed by a customer it will have paid for it self. The price reflects the products origin and a sign of the times, wish I could say it was produced by a North Amercian company but it is what it is. November 21, 2012
Nice boot! Nice boot. Lightweight, durable, comfy/nice padding, true to size. I havent used them in the snow yet, so i cannot comment on warmth and waterproofing. They are a little pricey, i figured being that these are imported they would of been cheaper. They seem pretty decent. Lets hope the rubber doesnt seperate.Would of given "5 STARS" if boots were manufactured in the U.S.A November 16, 2012
best ever These are the first snow boots I've ever owned, and the last. I live in a mountain community in Colorado. I work outside for the most part and these boots have never failed me. From construction work to snowshoeing, they never stop. My currrent pair is 6 years old and they still perform as flawlessly today as they did out of the box. I recomend thes boots to anyone who has to spend any time on your feet in harsh enviroments. Dry + Warm = Happy November 10, 2012
Awesome Thes boots are everything and more. I cannot explain to you how warm your feet will stay along with the comfort. It is like not wearing boots at all. October 18, 2012
Awsome Boots I highly recommend these boots. Very warm and comfortable. Ice fishing and my toes are very toasty. I put them on and a bit stiff for a day or two, but then like putting on slippers. Love love love them January 31, 2012
Great fitting and supportive! This is actually my second pair of these boots. The first pair is almost 7 years old but are still in very useable condition, my only reason for getting a new set is to have "fresh" boots with my "fresh" riding gear! I primarily use these for snowmachining up here in Alaska and have worn them in temps ranging from +50*F to -30*F and have never once had a problem with my feet getting cold OR wet. I highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for the most comfortable, best fitting, and most durable boots available! January 30, 2012
Yes, this product has great features There are three major reasons why I would recomend these boots.Price, Comfortability and Safety. The boots are not that expensive, it worth the price. The comfortability is awesome.A. they are not heavy, thats is very important when you need to walk.B. the inside is well done to keep the comfort of your feet.C they're wateproof, and they look like regular boots. I take them almost every where, and people don't notice that those are winter boots. I love them. And of course, Safety is very important. I feel safe when I wear my Sorel boots. January 5, 2012
comfort This is my second pair of Conquests and when these wear out in 10(?) years I will buy another pair. Most comfortable and warm winter boots. Great for work (I work at a ski area) and snow shoeing and just about anything. Great fit. January 2, 2012
Perfect! I purchased these boots for my husband. He loves them and the fit is perfect! Great quality and look great on. December 31, 2011
Love these boots This is my first pair of Sorels, and I love them! Right out of the box they were very comfortable, AND THEY ARE WARM. For a winter boot I would not consider another brand of boot. The sizing allows for extra thick socks to be worn, if desired. Sorry I didn't purchase Sorels before now! December 16, 2011
Great cold weather boot I commute around Denver and the surrounding area by bicycle, bus, and train and needed a boot that not only provided warmth on frigid mornings but also kept my feet dry in the snow and was comfortable. The Conquest was the right boot for me because I spend a lot of time standing in the cold and snow at bus stops and train stations waiting for connecting routes. And it was a perfect fit on the peddles on my mountain bike. This is also a great boot to wear around town on a cold snowy day or to just go out and play in the snow. The fit is slightly big which allows for thicker socks on extremely cold days. December 6, 2011
Fitting tips This is a very warm, comfortable boot for extreme cold snowshoeing or walking. I left the original foam insoles in and laid on top a thin flat Spenco (or equal) insole to take up a little volume. I found that the bottom half (D-ring section) of the lacing was hard to keep tight, so I pulled the lacing out of the top three holders, tied an overhand knot above the D-rings, crossed the two ends, then threaded the laces back up through the top three holders. Finally, at the end of each lace I tied an overhand knot to keep the laces from pulling out of the holders as I put the boots on or took them off. (Tightening the laces when putting the boots on is therefore a two-stage process.) The original laces are long enough for me to get plenty of slack with this lacing arrangement. And it holds the heel down better than using just the heel strap on the back. December 5, 2011
Snow Shoveling and Elk Hunting I originally bought these boots for basic things like shoveling the driveway and walking around the ski resorts at night. After receiving them and playing around with the fit, I've decided to try them out while Elk hunting in the Colorado Rockies this november. Very pleased with the support and adjustability of this BIG winter boot. October 19, 2011
These things are amazing Sooo great. Very comfortable and well constructed. June 23, 2011
Great customer service / warranty My Sorel boots are the best winter boot I have ever owned. I had a seam separate on them though, during a winter hike. I took the required pictures of the failed boot, sent them in to the customer service department, and within a week I had a brand new pair of boots. No questions or hang ups from Sorel. They stand behind their product. Thanks Sorel!! March 25, 2011
stiching problem Another one fell apart at stiching where leather meets rubber. Before that, I thought theywere great boots except for extremely cold weather, below 0 f. March 14, 2011
Best Cold Weather Boots Ever!!!!!! I owned a pair of conquest boots for over 10 yesrs. I worked on the snow at 2 ski resorts Sundy River Maine and Crested Butte Colorado. Ive been in more situations in cold weather than most. The Sorel Conquests have never let me down. The one time I had an issue with the boots, Sorel sent me a new pair..These are the ONLY boots I will ever use for cold weather work and play.. February 18, 2011
At The Seams I bought this boot and after 2 winters with them the feel apart at the seams! The leather and rubber connection was not worth $135.00 at all. These ar $50.00 boot at best. February 12, 2011
love the boot i have had the conquest boot since 1994 and love them I live in the PNW and they are perfect i work in the oil fields and they are way better then bafins boots but cant wear them because they are not steel toe please make this boot in a steel toe or safty toe so you can have a hole new market of people because everyone that sees them wants them your loyal customer thankyou!!!!!!!! February 10, 2011
buy it I bought these about a month ago and the timing couldn't have been better. We've been having the snow storm du jur in the Norteast and so far they have performed as advertised: warm, rugged and waterproof. And it may be my imagination, but I think the interior is forming to my foot because I can slip in and out in a nanosecond. And they look good! January 29, 2011
Disappointed I work on the rooftops of commercial buildings in Minnesota where I service heating, a/c and refrigeration units, so am no stranger to frigid weather. It was -25 the other night on the roof and my toes were freezing and wet. I would say these boots keep my feet and toes warm down to about 10 degrees, but my feet are always wet. I assume the wetness is the from the inability of these boots to wick away sweat. I just bought a pair of Red Wing 1444-4 with 400 gram of thinsulate and and they kept my feet warm and dry all day in subzero weather yesterday...and these Red Wings aren't even considered "winter" boots! These boots are going in the garage sale pile for this spring...someone else can freeze thier feet. January 23, 2011
perfect long lasting boot I have owned the conquest boot since 1999, They are an awesome boot. I work outside in Michigan, and work very well. I work about 9 hours in temperature's that would make most sick to there stomach and standing in snow up to your knees. When my feet get cold from just standing in one spot, all you have to do is just walk a few hundred feet then your back on track. If this boot is still made with the same quaility as they were back then I recommend this boot to anyone and everyone.... January 13, 2011
Not waterproof! The product page for this boot uses the word waterproof no less than five times. These boots are NOT waterproof. After a ten minute walk through slushy snow my feet were wet. These things are going to goodwill. December 29, 2010
Absolutely amazing I have no idea where people are coming up with all of these negative comments. I work two jobs in the winter, one being my full time job as a diesel Technician where I have to keep Trucks running in low temps so they dont freeze, and be under cold trucks all day. Secondly I work snow removal sometimes up to 18 hours a night non stop shoveling, plowing, snow brooming and salting in sub zero weather. I go snowmobiling for over 8 hours at a time. These boots have been through it all. Have never let me down once. My feet are always dry and warm. Sorel for life. November 23, 2010
Best Boot I have owned yet I work on a very large ski mountain in VT, and am an "on snow" employee. The company issues name brand (expensive) mountaineering boots, although I much prefer to work in my Conquests, they are warmer, and more comfortable. They hold up to 14 hr days in subzero temps on all types of terrain. They also handle the boot dryer every night for about 4.5 months out of the year. As my paycheck depends on me being out in every type of weather imaginable, these are worth their weight in gold. Thanks for the awesome boot. October 12, 2010
Needs work I have a pair of Sorel boots, I had them for about 6 years. They kept my feet warm and dry and extreme conditions, butgood boots they too came apart at the seams where the leather meets the rubber. Otherwise they are very good boots. I may go with another model. August 23, 2010
Perfect boot for the cold and snow This is my second season with the boots and they are wonderful. Sounds like the others haven't figured out that if water goes over the top the boot gets flooded. They are a bit clunky. February 26, 2010
Design Flaws Overall good boot once it's on your foot. The cinching gator chord would make more sense to be located in the rear of the boot. The clips that hold the ankle strap are easily lost or broken. The boot pull on tab is to small and should be a loop. January 13, 2010
Great pair of boots I too am surprised to read of negative comments about Conquest boots. I bought a pair last December for snowmobiling and shoveling the drive and love them. They fit good and keep my feet warm and dry as I'm walking through or playing in knee high snow for many hours at a time. I bought my Conquests after having a new pair of Castle X Fusion boots for less than a month. I love how light and flexible they are while keeping my feet warm. I don't wear my boots daily but they have not given any troubles so far (i.e. no issues with stitching, etc.). I actually came to this website to buy the same pair of boots for a friend so he can join me for sledding fun! I think they're a great pair of boots! January 8, 2010
Good boot at first! The Conquest boots I bought are less than eight months old. When I first recieved the boots, they were great. I wore them for walking on the flat only, generally on tracks and pavements. During the Winter months the front of the boots become painfull, (not enough padding). The stitching went in two areas. The boot holds water more than a sponge, unfortunitly unlike a sponge you cannot ring the boots out. The boots stay wet and when wet will require a few days to dry out. The boots also expand when wearing them after a while and off course in the wet! There is no protection for the toes. The boots become very soft around the toes. Intially the boots look great and are good when new, but soon (too soon) after bought begin to deteriate, which is a shame as they do look good. Overall a boot for walking from shop to shop, (probably looking for a new set of boots). December 22, 2009
Poor Seams I received this product as a gift about a year ago. The boot fits really nice and kept my feet warm and dry even in deep snow conditions.Recently, my wife got her car stuck in the snow and I had to push her out. The car eventually gave way and got free, however, my boots were split where the leather part meets the rubber. The seams are not sewn into the rubber part, but are more "glued" together.Overall, I judge that these boots are very good for light use (i.e., walking to your mailbox), but don't expect them to hold up to anything more than that.
