I bought these boots last year and used them in Queenstown, New Zealand, I'm so glad i got them as not only do they look great, they are super warm and comfortable, i've had no problems with them and look forward to using them again this winter in Queenstown. I new i had the right boots when i saw celebrity Elle Mcpherson wearing them this year in a magazine.
Love It

I was kind of apprehensive about buying these shoes. But, I am glad I did. I survived the DC area's snow storm thanks to my SOREL. The Joan of Arctic did a great job keeping my feet warm and dry. I would definitely recommend them.

I purchased boot at location department store...originally purchased UGGS but had reservations about weather quality. Thus I returned the UGGS and while during so, took notice of the Joan of Artic boot...it looked so fashionable but I wondered again about weather quality...having never before known of Sorel, the sales lady assured me of quality and hence I purchased the boot. Needless to say, I LOVE IT!!! Not only is it warm and waterproof, I get sooooo many compliments when worn--I feel like a fashion diva and ski-bunny all in one. You can not go wrong with this boot...if is goes on sale, I plan on purchasing additional pairs for friends and family!

Ladies, if you are an individual who enjoys weather that warrants the use of this boot, you are in luck. Not only is the boot attractive for a "snow boot", but also very comfortable and warm. The boot has been constructed to accommodate any width of foot. If you have a narrow foot, wear a more bulky warm sock. For myself I have a plump foot and wear a wool-nylon blend, thin sock and my feet are very warm. These boots are lightweight for their construction and do not fatigue the feet and legs, due to their weight, in any activity. I wear them on the sidewalks of downtown and also the deep snow at our cabin located in Rockwood, ME on Moosehead Lake. Enjoy the comfort and know that your choice is also attractive. Snow, ice and wind away, cause I have my Sorel Joan of Arctics!
Love them...

Purchased my normal shoe size and it was a perfect fit. However the upper leather does need some break in time. They are stiff around the ankle and my one foot is fatter than the other, so the fatter foot is getting rubbed raw around the inside ankle bone. You wouldn't want to wear them outdoor's all day until you broke them in. They are cute
Great boots!!

I think I read every review on these boots before buying them. I promised I would write one myself once I got my own pair. Hands down, this was the best winter boot purchase I have ever made. They are super cute AND totally functional in winter weather. I plan to use them on ski trips, snowy days and snow shoeing. I wear an average size 6 1/2-7 shoe and I have thin legs so I was kind of confuesd based on the reviews as to what size to order. I also always wear Smartwool socks that vary in thicknesses. I ordered a size 6 and found it to be a perfect fit in the foot bed and the calf. I am really pleased with the comfort and the ease to get them on too. You can honeslty just slip your foot right in the boot and the lace them up with ease. The laces are very nice quality as well. I do agree with the reviews about looking forward to them "softening" up a bit but I still feel fine running around in them right out of the box. Looking forward to having these for many seasons to come!
My First Pair of Snow Boots

These boots are an excellent buy, very warm, durable and cute. I'm usually a size 7, but these ran a bit large even in a size 6. Great for trekking through snow covered towns in the Mid-West. I'm from Florida and snow is an entirely foreign ordeal for me, I needed to stay warm while visiting customers in IL, MN and upstate NY.
Anticipate them softening up

I just got a pair of these boots yesterday! I found at the store the leather was quite stiff and the sales man said this was a common observation (read complaint) about Sorel boots. He assured me that they do soften up over time. I wore them around the house to break them in a bit and after a few hours I felt some friction just above my heel, though it wasn't enough to leave any actual blisters and it feels fine today. I wouldn't suggest trying to drive in these until the leather has softened. I attempted to last night and the range of motion in my ankle was seriously limited - hitting the brakes wasn't so much of an issue it was the accelerating. I do love these boots as they incredibly cute and super warm. I'm happy with my purchase but I can't wait till the soften up a bit!! Hopefully we get some more snow in the near future!
Super warm, super cute, and sadly, super PAINFUL

I live in Wisconsin, and if there's one thing you need to invest in, it's a good pair of winter boots, so I bought these as a Christmas present to myself. They are super warm, super cute, and, unfortunately, super painful to walk in. The leather outer bends at the skinniest part of the boot, and nips in too much right above the ankle, resulting in too much friction in a very sensitive area. I have really bad ankle blisters after wearing these for 3 hours snowshoeing. Since snowshoeing, I've loosened the laces, which only made it worse. There's just not enough 'give' to the materials. I want to believe in these boots; my mom had a pair of Sorels that have lasted a decade and are still going. But if I had to do it again, I definitely wouldn't spend $130 for boots that give me blisters.
Boots With the Fur

These boots are the best thing I have ever added to my winter wardrobe. The look great with skinny jeans tucked in, or with my ski pants over them. I love them so much, I am actually excited for snowy weather now! I have only worn them a few times and have gotten tons of compliments on them. Definitely an easy way to feel fashionable when you are bundled up in freezing weather. They run large, even with thick socks the size 7 is a little big for me and I typically wear size 7 1/2, sometimes even an 8 in other shoes.
NOT for women with calves larger than 15" around!

i bought these because i loved the look of them, with the fur at the top and how they laced up. they're a gorgeous boot for sure! i wouldn't say that my feet are fat, but they aren't skinny either and these boots were very tight on my feet. i wouldn't have been able to wear a thick pair of winter socks with these. but if i had gotten a size bigger, they would be too big, length-wise, for my feet. the size runs right, but the width runs very small. my calves are about 16" around and these boots will not fit over them. since i can't pull them all the way up, the boots scrunch by my heel and rub on the inside, making it painful to walk and creating blisters. these boots are NOT for people with calves ANY larger than 15" around. these stores should also tell us how tall the boots are so we know how far up our calf they will go. and they should most certainly tell us the circumfrence of the opening of all the boots. i'm returning these and wont buy another pair without a better description.

I love my Joan of Arctics. I'm a late adapter to the whole skinny jeans tucked into boots phenomenon, but when I saw these I knew I wanted to give it a try. They are super warm and I get compliments wherever I go. Everyone wants to know where I got them. I had to buy one size smaller than I usually wear because they felt a little too loose. I feel like these boots are something I will keep in my wardrobe forever.

. . . is wearing these boots! They are super-cute, very comfortable, and make me feel confident that I won't embarrass myself by falling all over the place when walking on unplowed Montreal sidewalks! I needed something waterproof (these bad boys are perfect!) and toasty, and am very satisfied with their performance. They take a while to put on an off, but man! Worth every extra second . . . and every penny. Good job, Sorel!

Having had many boots from Sorel, I decided to buy these because they were nice looking, i had to buy a size larger to keep feet warm in cold. However I realized the sole of this style offers no traction on icy ground, I will be hiking in them and i may have a problem, I should have remembered the times at the Barn that I slipped doing stalls with this sole. The Vibrum soles are the beat for all types of conditions. If you in the city you should have no problem.
